  47. Kriema: There ^+^
  48. roo i. (GM): alright. you two go first, then the basilisk, ogre 1 and ogre 2
  49. for easy differentiation, ill color them
  50. 1: red 2: blue
  51. alright. HP // Hunger // other resources bar set up?
  52. Kriema: I set mine~
  53. roo i. (GM): yay
  54. lets start up with some narration
  55. you get to the rocky formation, you see a basilisk and a pair of ogres wandering around, looking for gems in the sand, they are near a rather steep hill, and in the relative middle of your distance between them there is a huge crystal formation growing out of the sand
  56. you feel the earth shaking lightly
  57. the shortlived shake stops after a few seconds, you see the underlings in the distance move further from the hill
  58. actual combat begins now, lily, you're up first
  59. Lily Palmer: "iris dear, could you handle tweedle dee and tweedle dumb please?"
  60. Iris Thelossa: "I mean er... The Ogres? I suppose I could, yes. Shouldn't we work together?"
  61. Lily Palmer: "nah, leave this lizard asshole to me"
  62. Lily taunts it from a distance.
  63. roo i. (GM): really quiet hiss
  64. Lily Palmer: "why is it like that?"
  65. Iris Thelossa: "I'm not sure... Maybe it's not violent? I don't understand what they mean by hissing."
  66. roo i. (GM): do you end your turn lily?
  67. Lily Palmer: yes
  68. roo i. (GM): alright. iris is up next
  69. Kriema: We can move 6 squares, right?
  70. Aggie: "mistress, perhaps i could assist you in some way? you do know i can take the shape of them"
  71. roo i. (GM): 1 square: 5ft
  72. so yup
  73. Kriema: "You can go that big? Well then... Sure! Yes, let us show these vagabonds how far we've come."
  74. Aggie: "well said mistress"
  75. roo i. (GM): end turn?
  76. Iris Thelossa: Yes.
  77. roo i. (GM): basilisk's turn!
  78. the basilisk sorta just... looks back a few times and slowly approaches in lily's direction
  79. there we go.
  80. as for the ogres, they look equally unsure as they team up to attack iris. stopping short of any kind of proper agression
  81. Iris Thelossa: "Erm... Lily, perhaps we do not need to fight them at all?"
  82. roo i. (GM): rumbles rumbles
  83. Iris Thelossa: "My ones aren't that bad at all... I visited a tree with hundreds of them and wasn't even attacked. Except once and it didn't count."
  84. "Also, what in heaven is that?"
  85. Lily Palmer: "technically we never have to fight ANYTHING, but thats lame"
  86. Iris Thelossa: "Well, we shouldn't fight anyone who isn't evil, right? We're heroes and all."
  87. roo i. (GM): oh right, lily's turn
  88. Lily Palmer: I get real close to the basilisk.
  89. "before i beat you to a pulp, have you seen another basilisk around who has an egg?"
  90. roo i. (GM): the basilisk snarls at you. "no"
  91. "quiet"
  92. "quiet"
  93. iris just hears frantic quiet hissin
  94. Lily Palmer: "quiet?"
  95. roo i. (GM): "quiet"
  96. Iris Thelossa: "Lily, that rumbling is getting somewhat Worrisome..."
  97. roo i. (GM): rumble rumble once again
  98. "eat you up if not quiet"
  99. Lily Palmer: Lily feels worried. "hey iris maybe we should just go"
  100. "and uh, whenever you walk, make sure its without rhythm"
  101. Lily backs up and looks around with her magic eyes, making sure this isnt some form of illusion or something.
  102. roo i. (GM): nope, no illusions
  103. just lots of worrying and agression
  104. Lily Palmer: Lily just kind of
  105. ends the turn.
  106. Iris Thelossa: Iris goes over towards the giant crystals, peering closer at it, giving the Ogres a friendly wave. "Truce? I want to know what's happening here."
  107. roo i. (GM): roll charisma
  108. Iris Thelossa: rolling 1d20+4
  109. (
  110. 9
  111. )+4
  112. = 13
  113. roo i. (GM): rolling 1d20-3
  114. (
  115. 14
  116. )-3
  117. = 11
  118. the ogre drops from a fighting stance. he makes the universal "shhhhh" sound
  119. the other one still looks kind of... well
  120. angry at you
  121. Iris Thelossa: Iris shushes down, trying to smile at the other ogre as she peers down at the massive crystal.
  122. roo i. (GM): the crystal doesn't seem anything special
  123. just some oversized amethyst
  124. the (blue) ogre is not having any of it for some reason
  125. *rumble rumble
  126. Iris Thelossa: Iris gives him a stern look instead, putting up a finger to her mouth in the shush sound too.
  127. roo i. (GM): the ogre looks indignated at you
  128. roll insight everyone
  129. Lily Palmer: rolling 1d20
  130. (
  131. 4
  132. )
  133. = 4
  134. Iris Thelossa: rolling 1d20+4
  135. (
  136. 8
  137. )+4
  138. = 12
  139. roo i. (GM): iris feels like... these underlings are hiding from something
  140. lily just considers the rumbles fairly worrying and that she should get ready for anything
  141. so... are you ending your turn, kriem?
  142. Iris Thelossa: Yeah, I will.
  143. Just a little bit of a shift...
  144. Iris waves Lily over, holding a finger to her lips.
  145. (That's all)
  146. Lily Palmer: (he DCed)
  147. (will be back shortly)
  148. Iris Thelossa: (Oopsies, sorry v-v)

  152. it is the basilisk's turn i guess
  153. "i make you quiet" he says as he tries taking a bite out of you
  154. rolling 1d20
  155. (
  156. 8
  157. )
  158. = 8
  159. (why do these guys have no mod for this attack?!) the bite is easily avoided... guess the basilisk was too worried on being quiet
  160. roo i. (GM): i forgot to add he shuffled closer
  161. tweedle dee for his part, moves to a more advantageous position
  162. and tweedle dumb approaches with clear intent of being a baddie
  163. he jumps into the air and attempts to bodyslam both of you!
  164. rolling 1d20+3
  165. (
  166. 17
  167. )+3
  168. = 20

  170. roo i. (GM): ((forgot to add that aggie has the same ac as you at all points))
  171. Iris Thelossa: We're hit~
  172. roo i. (GM): rolling 2d4+3
  173. (
  174. 3
  175. +
  176. 2
  177. )+3
  178. = 8
  179. iris is pancaked into the soft sand. the ogre stands up
  180. Aggie: "o-ow..."
  181. Iris Thelossa: "Oof... That was Ungentlemanly. Aggie, are you all right?"
  182. Aggie: "yes mistress, thanks for your worries"
  183. roo i. (GM): the ogre gloats in his delivered agression
  184. Iris Thelossa: Lily's turn now?
  185. roo i. (GM): yup
  186. Iris Thelossa: Iris is going to -have words- with this Ogre.
  187. Lily Palmer: Lily takes the reformed muse and strikes the basilisk.
  188. roo i. (GM): lily's turn now. the rumbling gets somewhat more quiet
  189. roll for it. you know the stats
  190. Lily Palmer: rolling 1d20+4
  191. (
  192. 20
  193. )+4

  195. roo i. (GM): i hate my internet so fucking much
  196. Lily Palmer: lmao
  197. roo i. (GM): alright. go for full damage in any case
  198. STRUMMMMM and other strong guitar impact noises

  200. roo i. (GM): so... 27+whatever turn this is?
  201. Lily Palmer: 24+3
  202. roo i. (GM): the sound of lily's guitar hitting the basilisk right on its ugly basilisk face rings across the place. it even echoes
  203. the basilisk is now bloddied
  204. end turn, lily?
  205. RUMBLE RUMBLE
  206. Lily Palmer: I attack with my claws.
  207. rolling 1d20+4
  208. (
  209. 5
  210. )+4
  211. = 9
  212. roo i. (GM): your claws dont manage to tear the basilisk's battered hide
  213. Lily Palmer: End turn.
  214. roo i. (GM): i really, really hate my internet, iris, you're up
  215. Iris Thelossa: "All right then... Aggie, if you would not mind, punch this villain. And I will help. As for you..."
  216. Iris rounds on the Ogre, her usual happy polite tones icy and firm, almost frightening. "I am going to show you what happens when you Cross a Lady." She twirls her black parasol threatningly.
  217. Intimidate, then smashy~
  218. rolling 1d20+7
  219. (
  220. 16
  221. )+7
  222. = 23
  223. roo i. (GM): do you make aggie take the shape of the ogre to punch it back?
  224. Iris Thelossa: Yeah.
  225. roo i. (GM): alright that hits
  226. that completely hits
  227. Iris Thelossa: Oh good ^_^
  228. Well that was the intimidate Roo.
  229. My actual attack is a bit lower~
  230. I hope my attack roll is that good.
  231. roo i. (GM): aggie shines and turns into an amorphous ball of light, he takes the shape of an enormous ogre
  232. alright so... are you using intimidation as your... which action?
  233. Iris Thelossa: As a minor.
  234. That gives me my level 3 feat bonuses against it too.
  235. roo i. (GM): rolling 1d4+1 turns in ogre form
  236. (
  237. 1
  238. )+1
  239. = 2
  240. alright, remember that making aggie hit something in this form takes a minor action
  241. Iris Thelossa: Ah, it does.
  242. So I can't move?
  243. roo i. (GM): you can
  244. unless you want to use your move as a minor
  245. which is possible, but not well looked at in most cases
  246. Iris Thelossa: Well no, I wanted to attack, have Aggie attack and intimidate.
  247. roo i. (GM): in this, it would be acceptable
  248. Iris Thelossa: Can I do those three? I don't need to move.
  249. roo i. (GM): move to your previous square?
  250. Iris Thelossa: Forgot, sorry~
  251. roo i. (GM): alright... in this case you wouldn't
  252. but you can intimidate and order aggie to attack, or just attack as you.etc
  253. Iris Thelossa: I'll intimidate and attack myself I guess. Aggie can hit them next turn.
  254. I wanted to be cool v-v
  255. Is that fine?
  256. roo i. (GM): yes
  257. Iris Thelossa: Okies.
  258. Aggie counts as Adjacent for the feat, right?
  259. roo i. (GM): its is, im not bothering to roll insight due to your result and ogres having ridiculously low insight
  260. yes he does
  261. Iris Thelossa: Ok, smashing now, with advantage. Come on dice~
  262. (+2 for the charisma checks too, yay)
  263. rolling 1d20+5+1d4
  264. (
  265. 20
  266. )+5+(
  267. 1
  268. )
  269. = 26
  270. roo i. (GM): ...your full damage was...?
  271. Iris Thelossa: Her damage would be...3d6+3
  272. Unless it counts as Feral.
  273. roo i. (GM): 21 damage!
  274. Iris Thelossa: Boomf!
  275. And he has a -4 to his next attack too. ^_^
  276. Ok, that's my turn.
  277. roo i. (GM): guess what
  278. Iris Thelossa: What?
  279. Lily Palmer: uh oh
  280. roo i. (GM): underlings do
  281. Iris Thelossa: Attack? Run away? Explode into grist?

  291. rolling 1d20+1
  292. (
  293. 4
  294. )+1
  295. = 5
  296. roo i. (GM): the other ogre just sorta looks and you and you can see in its eyes that he's gonna take revenge
  297. lily notices a gigantic head with a single swollen blood shot eye staring at you from the cliff to the north
  298. *at you two
  299. basilisk's turn
  300. the basilisk, not noticing the obvious giant underling, does what basilisks do best
  301. Lily Palmer: "oh fuck"
  302. Iris Thelossa: "Oh dear... That one is... Big."
  303. Lily Palmer: "i regret not bringing roland with me"
  304. Iris Thelossa: "Now now... I am sure that we can handle it together."
  305. Iris smiles, steadying herself. "I just beat an Ogre in one hit. We've got this no problem. Trust in me."
  306. roo i. (GM): rolling 1d20+7 grapple attempt against lily
  307. (
  308. 11
  309. )+7

  311. Lily Palmer: rolling 1d20+4 to resist
  312. (
  313. 6
  314. )+4
  315. = 10
  316. roo i. (GM): the basilisk coils its tail around your body, limiting fairly succesfully your movement
  317. take 4 damage
  318. the ogre's turn is fairly straightforward
  319. he goes over to his light doppleganger and attempts to punch its tiny face
  320. rolling 1d20+3
  321. (
  322. 7
  323. )+3
  324. = 10
  325. Iris Thelossa: The scoundrel...
  326. Misses!
  327. If Aggie still has my AC at least.
  328. roo i. (GM): aggie blocks the incoming fist with his replicated humongous hand
  329. (yup)
  330. the ogre looks fairly surprised
  331. lily's turn
  332. Lily Palmer: I play crimson burst.
  333. roo i. (GM): alright roll for it
  334. keep in mind that the fact tha you're grappled would just pull you with the basilisk

  353. yet, its not dead
  354. lily is pulled along
  355. (remember you have 5ft of free movement rn, yes, that would free you)

  357. roo i. (GM): roll... for it i guess
  358. Lily Palmer: rolling 1d20+4

  377. + any conditional bonuses you may have at the moment
  378. Iris Thelossa: Er... I have +2 from my armor and +1d4 to hit from a feat.
  379. roo i. (GM): for aggie only the +2 applies since you arent adjacent
  380. Iris Thelossa: We're adjacent to the same enemy though. I could move closer if that'll help.
  381. roo i. (GM): it would
  382. and it has to be adjacent to ally
  383. there you go.
  384. Iris Thelossa: Ok ^_^
  385. If that's fine.
  386. That'll make getting three allies adjacent tricky. But that's fair~
  387. roo i. (GM): do you want me to handle aggie's turns from now on?
  388. Iris Thelossa: "Aggie, bodyslam!"
  389. rolling 1d20+5

  568. roo i. (GM): are you sure?
  569. Iris Thelossa: Yup.
  570. I activate Blind Prophet as a free action to blind Iris and the Giclops.
  571. roo i. (GM): aggie decides to not follow for some reason
  572. the giclops is now blinded, and so are you
  573. Iris Thelossa: Ok, I use the Lantern's passive to ignore the blindness and look through, and go to smoosh the Giclops with an attack.
  574. roo i. (GM): hah! good combination
  575. roll for it, advantage
  576. Iris Thelossa: Actually, can I stand next to Lily and still attack? I gain reach thanks to that.

  619. yups.
  620. Iris Thelossa: Can I minor action unarmed attack?
  621. roo i. (GM): iris stabs at the giclops with the parasol a few times, guided by said prophetic indications
  622. you can see from the giclop's expression, that it had a fair effect
  623. Iris Thelossa: Otherwise, that's my turn ^_^
  624. roo i. (GM): well.... you still have it
  625. i dont see why not

  681. roo i. (GM): attack roll. but you get the idea
  682. was it like that?
  683. man, i dont even remember
  684. Iris Thelossa: That's what you said on skype.
  685. roo i. (GM): dangit. we should type this up better
  686. Iris Thelossa: 1 ally is 1d4 attack, 2 is damage advantage, 3 allies is everyone gets the bonuses too.
  687. I did type it up. It's on my sheet ^_^
  688. roo i. (GM): anyways. lily smashes the guitar into the giclops, a spiderweb crack spreads through half its lower carapace
  689. surprisingly, the impact wasn't as strong as it should have been
  690. Lily Palmer: "that didnt go as planned..."
  691. roo i. (GM): end turn?
  692. Lily Palmer: I attack with my claws too I guess.

  729. This might hurt a lot.
  730. roo i. (GM): not as much as you would expect
  731. Iris Thelossa: Is that actually a cliff? Or just terrain?
  732. roo i. (GM): just terrain
  733. assume its just terrain unless i state so
  734. Iris Thelossa: v-v
  735. I have made many errors tonight
  736. roo i. (GM): the giclops cups both hands into a ball and brings them down between both of you....

  747. Lily Palmer: Misses me too
  748. roo i. (GM): gimme a second
  749. im actually laughing rrn
  750. the giclops, surprised by your resilience against the shockwave, and fairly damaged by the previous attacks, begins retreating
  751. lily's turn
  752. Iris Thelossa: Go get him~
  753. Also, I'm imagining that attack being dodged like playing jump rope.
  754. roo i. (GM): so i imagined
  755. Lily Palmer: I try hitting his legs to trip him up.
  756. (with my guitar)
  757. roo i. (GM): i think there's a specific action for this
  758. gimme a second
  759. [0:03:54] Roo_inline: this is the closest thing you can do on the giclops
  760. [0:03:55] Roo_inline: Shove: You can use your major action to shove a creature. The creature must be no more than one size larger than you and must be within your reach. you make an Athletics check contested by the opponent’s Athletics or Acrobatics check(their choice), if you succeed then you may shove the target up to 5’ (1.66 Meters) away from you or render them prone.
  761. [0:04:04] Roo_inline: except its got 2 sizes on you
  762. Lily Palmer: Ill just regularly hit it then
  763. roo i. (GM): you kno' the drill

  778. Iris Thelossa: I can slow it down if you want Lily.
  779. roo i. (GM): lily hits the giclops in the knee
  780. oh noes
  781. Lily Palmer: i just dont want all that sweet grist to flee
  782. plus exp
  783. roo i. (GM): yup
  784. Iris Thelossa: I'll try a thing once it's my turn.
  785. roo i. (GM): alright. im guessing its iris' turn?
  786. Lily Palmer: does it get hit by fire damage again?
  787. roo i. (GM): i already rolled the damage for that
  788. Lily Palmer: ohh ok
  789. Iris Thelossa: "Aggie, if you could, Ignuus Fatuus!" Iris concentrates and channels energy through the Lantern in her familiar's hand.
  790. roo i. (GM): aggie lights up and shoots small flames all around the giclops
  791. Iris Thelossa: rolling 1d4+4

  805. roo i. (GM): plus the d4 i guess?
  806. Iris Thelossa: If I get a d4? Sure.
  807. roo i. (GM): i think you do?
  808. Iris Thelossa: Then sure.
  809. That's 13 I suppose.
  810. Does it work?
  811. roo i. (GM): surprisingly, it doesn't it
  812. :/
  813. Iris Thelossa: v-v
  814. Well, I still have Blind Prophet I guess, but I won't be able to use the bonus damage.
  815. roo i. (GM): the giclops its either too focused or too narrow minded to be perplexed and blinded by will o wisps
  816. Iris Thelossa: So I blind it with the second and last use of Blind Prophet.
  817. Aaaaand.
  818. I use Intimidate.

  832. roo i. (GM): your force of personality somehow manages to intimidate this huge behemoth
  833. Iris Thelossa: I'll take the option that halves its movement speed for the next round, along with the -4 to the next hit.
  834. roo i. (GM): lily, roll to resist swonning please
  835. alright
  836. Lily Palmer: rolling 1d20

  853. Iris Thelossa: It's blinded, so disadvantage?
  854. roo i. (GM): not blinded
  855. Iris Thelossa: I used Blind Prophet though.
  856. When the lantern missed.
  857. roo i. (GM): oh
  858. Iris Thelossa: I was worried about exactly the smashy ^_^
  859. roo i. (GM): regardless, it shouldn't be blinded by now
  860. Iris Thelossa: That's me out of blinds.
  861. roo i. (GM): >adjacent enemies and you gain blindness until the end of the turn
  862. Iris Thelossa: It shouldn't? After the second blind prophet?
  863. roo i. (GM): until the end of the turn
  864. not next turn
  865. Iris Thelossa: So if I'm last, it's not useful?
  866. Drat v-v
  867. roo i. (GM): by turn it means your individual turn
  868. Iris Thelossa: Ahhhhh.
  869. roo i. (GM): it literally only works while you can take actions. why so? dont ask me, ask the balance team (also me)
  870. regardless. here comes some possibly underwhelming damage

  889. I use consume
  890. roo i. (GM): oh right, forgot to add the relentles reconstitution flavor
  891. lily's changes fade as the shockwave hits both of you, like shedding skin or some biz like that
  892. once again, to keep this family friendly, the camera switches to iris as lily prepares to bite into the giclops
  893. roll for it
