There has been a video posted on YouTube that features Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, or as we know him better The Mountain from Game Of Thrones, where he sends a clear message to Cristiano Ronaldo before the Portugal's clash with the Iceland. In the video Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson has stated "I know you are playing against Iceland in the first game... if you dare to score against my teammates I will find you, and crush your skull".
Now, receiving a message from a guy who is known as The Mountain can be quite scary, and we all know that Cristiano Ronaldo gets scared easily. When Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson is not playing a violent and huge vicious character on GOT, he is busy with being the Iceland's strongest man. On top of that, he is also a runner-up in 2014 World's Strongest Man. The reason behind the message was probably because that was Iceland's first time qualifying for a football competition internationally.
As the game has already passed, is this the reason why Cristiano Ronaldo did not score any points? We all know that Cristiano Ronaldo is a great football player, and every team who is against his needs to work very hard to win, so it is only natural that The Mountain would try to do whatever he can to help his teammates out before the game. Since the Portugal's team was their first opponent, he decided to target the Portugal's star man; specifically, by stating that he will crush his skull.
While it is not known if the Portugal's big star Cristiano Ronaldo actually saw the video or not, we already know that he did not score. Now, was the Iceland's strongest man the reason why Cristiano Ronaldo could not score? It might never be known, while the Portugal's team is left with an uncharacteristic blank stare as their team has failed to beat Iceland.
Nevertheless, the video of The Mountain threatening the star footballer has gone viral for many reasons. One of them is probably for the comedic part, as most of us know him from the series GOT and it is funny to see him in his character even out of the set. However, while it is funny in a way, it can also be a bit threatening, seeing how big, strong and vicious he is on the popular show.
Having somebody of that size and strength spread such a message can't be easy, but since we don't know if Cristiano Ronaldo actually got the message, all we can do is assume what happened. Now, the game has passed, and Iceland has finally won a match in the international league, which gives them a huge opportunity for the future. In addition, The Mountain will not have to search for the Portugal's football star to fulfill his promise in the clip, as the game ended with Portugal 1 - 1 Iceland.
