Benkei: We’re out of the Gate...!

(I have no idea why Benkei is here when he was supposed to be in Shin Getter right now, which came through the Gate first. I guess the writers switched when they came to this World and the next one didn’t get the memo or something.)

トーレス
「付近に本艦以外の反応はなし。
オケアノスもゲートを通過しました」
Torres: No readings detected in the vicinity other than our own ships. The Oceanus has also passed through the Gate.

ブライト
「トーレス、現在位置は?」
Bright: What’s our current position, Torres?

トーレス
「日本、九州地区の種子島近海です」
Torres: We’re off the coast of Tanegashima, sir, in the Kyushu region of Japan.

ミサト
「この世界の日本は地球連合、[ザフト]の
どちらにも属さない中立地帯でしたね」
Misato: In this world, Japan is a neutral territory that belongs to neither the Earth Alliance nor [ZAFT].

トーレス
「! 先程のゲートが消滅しました!」
Torres: ! The Gate has just disappeared!

ブライト
「…!」
Bright: ...!

ミサト
「ブライト艦長、この近くに
身を隠せそうな小島がいくつかあります。
念のため、調査を行いますか?」
Misato: Captain Bright, it looks like there are several small islands in the surroundings that someone could use to hide. Should we search them just in case?

ブライト
「ああ、頼む」
Bright: Yes, let’s do that.

ブライト
「…我々の当面の目標は
早乙女博士の捜索及び、[インベーダー]の排除だ」
Bright: ...Our immediate goal is to search for Dr. Saotome and eliminate any [Invaders].

シマ
「そのためにはこの世界での協力者が必要です。
アークエンジェルは地球連合軍所属ですから、
難しいでしょう」
Shima: In order to do so, we require the cooperation of another force. As the Archangel belongs to the Earth Alliance, obtaining their assistance would prove difficult.

アムロ
「つまり、頼れるのは[ミスリル]か」
Amuro: In other words, we have to go to [Mithril] for help.

ブライト
「無駄な争いを収めたいという点では、
我々と目的が一致している組織だ。
今のところ、信用できる」
Bright: We share a mutual goal as organizations that seek to stamp out pointless conflict. And so far, they have proven themselves trustworthy.

シマ
「異論はありません」
Shima: I am of the same mind.

ブライト
「では、この後ミスリルに連絡を取り、
この世界の状況を確認する。
他に議題は?」
Bright: Then I’ll begin talks with Mithril after this and confirm the state of this world. Does anyone have anything else to discuss?

弁慶
「…真ゲッターの扱いはどうします?」
Benkei: ...How are we going to handle Shin Getter?

ブライト
「車少佐は流竜馬、神中佐と共に
真ゲッターへ搭乗してくれ。
やってくれるな?」
Bright: I’d like for you, Ryoma Nagare, and Lieutenant Colonel Jin to pilot Shin Getter together. Is that agreeable, Major Kuruma?

弁慶
「こんな形でパイロットに復帰するとは
思ってませんでしたが…了解です」
Benkei: Didn’t think I’d be coming back to the pilot’s seat like this... Understood, sir.

ミサト
(真ゲッター…制御できているみたいだけど、
私達で運用して大丈夫な代物なのかしら…?)
Misato: (Shin Getter... It looks like they have it under control, but is it really okay for us to use it...?)

アムロ
「號についてはどうする? 眠っていると聞いたが…」
Amuro: What about Go? I’d heard he was sleeping...

ブライト
「號はハサン先生の検査が済んでから処遇を決めよう。
彼については神中佐が何か知っているんだったな?」
Bright: We’ll decide what to do about him once Dr. Hasan finishes the examination on him. I believe Lieutenant Colonel Jin is familiar with him?

弁慶
「ええ…渓以上に色々と事情がありそうです」
Benkei: Yeah... This seems to involve a lot more than just Kei.

ブライト
「渓は落ち着いたか?」
Bright: And has Kei settled down at all?

弁慶
「今のところは。
しかし、もう少し休ませてやりたいです」
Benkei: Yeah, for now. But I’d still like her to have some time off.

ブライト
「わかった。
號に関しては神中佐に一任しよう」
Bright: Understood. And we’ll leave matters pertaining to Go up to Lieutenant Colonel Jin.

弁慶
「了解」
Benkei: Roger.

凱
「よいしょっと…。
ここでいいですか?」
Gai: There we go... Here’s good, right?

アストナージ
「おう、力がある奴が来てくれて助かるよ」
Astonaige: Yeah. I have to say, it’s nice having a guy with your muscle to help me out.

凱
「いえ、役に立てたなら何よりです」
Gai: Hey, I’m just happy to be of help.

アストナージ
「俺達までへこたれてちゃ、
パイロット達が安心して戦えないからな」
Astonaige: Good to hear. If the pilots see us looking exhausted, they wouldn’t be able to fight with a clear conscious.

凱
「ええ、わかってます。
やれることをやっていかないと、ですよね」
Gai: Yeah, I gotcha. We gotta do what we can, right?

凱
「いい心掛けだな、凱君」
Guy: That’s a good attitude to have, Gai.

凱
「凱さ…獅子王さん!?」
Gai: Guy—Mr. Shishioh!?

アストナージ
「そういや、二人ともファーストネームは
『ガイ』だったな」
Astonaige: Oh yeah, you guys have the same first name. Although one of you is “Guy” and the other is “Gai”.

アストナージ
「で、どうしたんだ?
ギャレオンなら、しっかり面倒を見てるぜ」
Astonaige: So what’s up? Galeon been giving you any trouble?

凱
「いや…名前が同じ彼が
ここで働くことになったと聞いて、
一度話しておこうと思ったんです」
Guy: Nothing like that. When I heard there was someone with the same name as me, I just thought I’d come talk to them.

アストナージ
「なるほどな。
じゃ、ちょっと休憩を入れようか」
Astonaige: I see. Alright, then let’s take five.

凱
「…あの獅子王凱が、わざわざ俺なんかに…」
Gai: ...Um, you really didn’t have to come over here just to see me, Mr. Guy Shishioh...

凱
「俺のことは凱でいいよ、凱君。
それに、俺だってあのゲッターの
名メカニックマンの息子と話せるのは光栄なんだ」
Guy: Just Guy is good enough for me, Gai. Besides, it’s an honor to speak to the son of the person they call Getter’s Mechanic Man.

凱
「俺はともかく、さすがにあなたのことを
呼び捨てにするのは遠慮させて下さい」
Gai: Aw, gee, thanks. But you don’t have to talk all fancy with me either.

凱
「そうか。
それで…君はどうしてラー・カイラムへ
来ることになったんだ?」
Guy: Alright then. So, how did you wind up coming aboard the Ra Cailum?

凱
「神中佐の意向です」
Gai: Well it was Lieutenant Colonel Jin’s idea.

凱
「それと、渓を
車少佐の代わりに支えてやらないとな、って。
俺も男の端くれですからね」
Gai: It’s so I could support Kei in Major Kuruma’s place, he said. I’m still a man and all, even if just barely.

凱
「…君もまた、勇者だったんだな」
Guy: ...I see you’re a brave yourself.

凱
「え…?」
Gai: Huh...?

凱
「勇気ある者さ。
別に、俺達GGG隊員の特権ってわけじゃない。
勇気さえその胸にあれば、みんな勇者だ」
Guy: A brave person. Of course, you don’t have to be a member of GGG to be brave. Anyone can be brave. All you need is to have courage in your heart.

凱
「君は自分の危険を顧みず、ここに来た。
それは紛れもなく、勇気ある行動だよ」
Guy: You chose to come here despite the danger it would put you in. That’s an undeniably brave thing to do.

凱
「そんな大したもんじゃありませんよ。
向こう見ずなだけです」
Gai: It’s not something that grand. I’m just reckless if anything.

凱
「…向こう見ずなだけじゃ、戦えないぞ」
Guy: ...I’ll tell you that recklessness alone won’t be enough to see you through a fight.

凱
「…どういうことです?」
Gai: ...What do you mean?

凱
「凱、君は心のどこかで戦いたがってる。
それを見越しての忠告さ」
Guy: I can tell in your heart that you want to fight, Gai. That’s why I want you to heed my advice now.

凱
「…そう、かも知れませんね」
Gai: ...Yeah, you might be right.

隼人
「號の検診結果は?」
Hayato: What are the results of Go’s medical examination?

弁慶
「異常なし。健康体だとよ」
Benkei: Nothing abnormal. He seems totally healthy.

隼人
「そうか…」
Hayato: I see...

弁慶
「そろそろ教えてくれ、隼人。
號は何者なんだ?」
Benkei: It’s about time you explained this, Hayato. Just who is Go?



弁慶
「ハサン先生も含めて、
この医務室からは人払いをさせた。
この場にいるのは俺とお前だけだ。だから…話せ」
Benkei: I ordered everyone else out of the sickbay, even Dr. Hasan. It’s just you and me here. So...talk.

隼人
「…號はクローンだ」
Hayato: ...Go is a clone.

弁慶
「クローン!?」
Benkei: A clone!?

隼人
「それも、ただのクローンじゃない。
早乙女博士と娘の早乙女ミチルの細胞を融合し、
[ゲッター線]を照射して誕生させた、新人類だ」
Hayato: And not just any clone. He was created from the fusion of Dr. Saotome’s cells and that of his daughter, Michiru Saotome, which were then exposed to [Getter Rays] in order to give birth to a new kind of human.

弁慶
「なっ!?
博士とミチルさんの…!?
それじゃ、あいつは渓の…!」
Benkei:Wha—!? The doctor and Michiru’s cells...!? Then, that means he has the cells of Kei’s—!

隼人
「父でもあり、姉でもある。
渓を守ろうとするのはその本能故だ」
Hayato: Father and sister, yes. That is why his instincts demand he protect Kei.

弁慶
「早乙女博士…何てことをしてくれたんだ…」
Benkei: How could Dr. Saotome do something like this...?

隼人
「…覚えているか?
ミチルさんの事故のことを」
Hayato: ...Do you remember? The accident with Michiru.

弁慶
「忘れるかよ!!」
Benkei: I could never forget!!

弁慶
「あの時、ゲッターロボGの合体訓練で、
ミチルさんは…」
Benkei: During combining training with Getter Robo G, Michiru was...

隼人
「そう、その事故が全ての始まりだった。
あの時点で既にインベーダーの侵略は
始まっていた」
Hayato: Yes, that accident was the start of it all. The Invaders had already begun their attack at that point.

弁慶
「何だと!?」
Benkei: What do you mean!?

隼人
「インベーダーは既にミチルさんの身体に
寄生していたのだ」
Hayato: An Invader parasite had already dug itself inside Michiru’s body.

隼人
「そして、合体訓練中にそれを悟ったミチルさんは、
インベーダーに乗っ取られる前に自らの手で…」
Hayato: Then, when Michiru realized it had happened during the combining training, she took matters into her own hands before the Invader could take over...

弁慶
「じゃあ、あれは事故じゃなく…?
そんな…そんなことって…!」
Benkei: Then, that accident wasn’t a..? No way... That can’t be...!

隼人
「早乙女博士はミチルさんの遺体を解剖して、
その事実に気付いた。そして、既にインベーダーが
地球侵略を開始していることも…!」
Hayato: Dr. Saotome came to realize the truth during Michiru’s autopsy. That the Invaders invasion had already begun...!

隼人
「博士は誰がインベーダーに寄生されているか
わからぬまま、対抗する手を探さなければ
ならなかった…」
Hayato: With no way to know who could be infected by the Invaders, the doctor searched for a way to oppose them on his own...

弁慶
「そ、そうか…もしかしてスティンガー博士や
コーウェン博士もその時に…」
Benkei: I-I see... Then, it could be that even then, Dr. Stinger and Dr. Cowen were already...

隼人
「真実はわからない。
だが、誰も信じられない博士は自分を死んだことにし、
密かにインベーダー対策を練った」
Hayato: There’s no way to know for sure. And so, unable to trust anyone, the doctor faked his own death and began studying ways to fight the Invaders in secret.

弁慶
「そのために
竜馬に殺人鬼の汚名を着せたってのか!?」
Benkei: That’s why Ryoma had to be made to look like a murderer!?

隼人
「奴がインベーダーのことを知れば、
混乱が大きくなるだけだ」
Hayato: If he learned about the Invaders, it would only have made the situation worse.

弁慶
「し、しかし…」
Benkei: B-But...

隼人
「隔離されたA級刑務所にいれば、
インベーダーに寄生される確率も低い。
竜馬もまた、インベーダーに対する切り札だからな」
Hayato: With Ryoma isolated in an A Class prison, the chance of him being infected by the Invaders was low. That’s what makes Ryoma our trump card.

弁慶
「だからって…それは…あんまりだ!」
Benkei: But that’s just... This is going too far!

隼人
「俺は博士を手伝い、インベーダーに対抗する手段、
真ゲッターと[真ドラゴン]の開発に勤しんだ」
Hayato: I assisted the doctor as bet I could. We went on to create Shin Getter and [Shin Dragon] to stand against the Invaders.

隼人
「だが…真ドラゴンはあまりに強大…。
その力をインベーダーに利用されたら、
人類は滅亡する」
Hayato: But... Shin Dragon was too powerful... If the Invaders use its power for themselves, mankind is doomed.

弁慶
「そんな危険な物を作っちまったのか!?」
Benkei: You made something that dangerous!?

隼人
「だから、號を誕生させた。
彼が真ドラゴンを目覚めさせる鍵となる。
逆に言えば、彼がいなければ真ドラゴンは起動しない」
Hayato: Go was born precisely because it was so dangerous. He is the key to awakening Shin Dragon. If he isn’t awake, then Shin Dragon will remain dormant.

隼人
「そして、ゲッター線によって誕生した號は、
インベーダーに寄生される心配はない」
Hayato: And with Go being created with Getter Rays, we won’t have to worry about him ever being infected by an Invader.

弁慶
「號は…そのために生み出されたのか…」
Benkei: So that’s...what Go was created for...

隼人
「神をも恐れぬ所業だ。
だが、人類が生き残るためには…」
Hayato: It was an act worthy of punishment by God. But, so long as it was for humanity’s survival, not even that would stop us...

弁慶
「だが…だがな。
その早乙女博士がインベーダーに乗っ取られちまった。
つまり、この話は全部連中に知られてるってことだ」
Benkei: But...but now... Dr. Saotome has been taken over by Invaders. That means they know everything.

隼人
「そう…そのはずだった。しかし…」
Hayato: Yes... that should be the case. However...

弁慶
「何だよ?」
Benkei: What do you mean?

隼人
「早乙女博士は、竜馬を
わざわざ真ゲッターに乗せるように、
誘き出していた…」
Hayato: Dr. Saotome went out of his way to entice Ryoma to pilot Shin Getter...

弁慶
「どういうことだ?
早乙女博士はインベーダーに乗っ取られて
いなかったとでも言うのか?」
Benkei: What are you trying to say? That Dr. Saotome isn’t under the Invader’s control?

隼人
「それはあり得ない。
あの身体能力は人を超えている。
考えられるとすれば…」
Hayato: That’s not possible. His physical abilities are far beyond that of what a human can do. If I had to guess...

隼人
「…いや、憶測は危険だ。
今は早乙女博士を止めることが第一だからな」
Hayato: ...Forget it, going off of a guess is far too risky. Our number one concern right now should be to stop Dr. Saotome.

弁慶
「この話、竜馬にはするのか?」
Benkei: Will you tell any of this to Ryoma?

隼人
「逆に聞こう。
お前ならどうする?」
Hayato: What about you? Are you going to?

弁慶
「言えるかよ!」
Benkei: I can’t tell him THIS!

隼人
「そういうことだ」
Hayato: Of course not.

弁慶
「だが、この話…ブライト艦長には伝えるぞ。
號をこのままこの艦に乗せるつもりなら、尚更だ」
Benkei: But...Captain Bright needs to know. Especially if Go’s going to be aboard this ship from now on.

隼人
「わかっている」
Hayato: I agree on that point.

隼人
「その上で可能なら、
號は訓練を受けさせていた凱と共に
パイロット見習いとして扱ってもらう」
Hayato: And if possible, Go should receive training to become a pilot like Gai has. He’ll be treated as a pilot-in-training.

弁慶
「ゲッターのか?」
Benkei: For Getter?

隼人
「予備はいた方がいい」
Hayato: Having spares could come in handy.

升慶
「…そうだな」
Benkei: ...You’re right.

弁慶
(すまん、竜馬…
全てが終わったら、必ず話すからな…)
Benkei: (Forgive me, Ryoma... When all this is over, I’ll be sure to tell you everything...)

通信が繋がりました」
Torres: We’ve received a communication from Mithril’s Tuatha de Danaan, sir.

ブライト
「…妙に時間が掛かったな」
Bright: ...It’s strange it took them so long.

マデューカス
「トゥアハー・デ・ダナン副長、
リチャード・ヘンリー・マデューカス中佐です」
Mardukas: This is Commander Richard Henry Mardukas, Executive Officer of the Tuatha de Danaan.

ブライト
「ラー・カイラム艦長、ブライト・ノア大佐だ。
テスタロッサ大佐はどこに?」
Bright: Captain Bright Noa, captain of the Ra Cailum. Is Captain Testarossa there?

マデューカス
「現在、艦長は席を外しています」
Mardukas: At present, the Captain is not at her post.

ブライト
「………」
Bright: ...

マデューカス
「貴艦が再び私達の世界へ来られた件に
ついてですが…」
Mardukas: In regards to your ship appearing in our world once more...

(The Ra Cailum detects something.)

トーレス
「インベーダー、接近!
0時方向より真っ直ぐ!」
Torres: Invaders, approaching! They’re coming in fast from dead ahead!

弁慶
「!」
Benkei: !

ブライト
「すまない、マデューカス中佐。
こちらはこれから戦闘に入る。
後ほど改めて連絡する」
Bright: My apologies, Commander Mardukas. We’re going to be entering battle soon. We’ll have to contact you again later.

マデューカス
「了解しました」
Mardukas: Understood.

『導き』
Episode 50
Guidance


(Scene begins over the map screen of an island. Londo Bell and several Invaders are on the map.)

ミサト
「ゲッタードラゴンの存在は確認されませんね。
早乙女博士は一緒ではないのでしょうか?」
Misato: We’ve confirmed that Getter Dragon isn’t here. I guess Dr. Saotome isn’t with them?

ブライト
「どこかに潜んでいる可能性はあるが、
今は降りかかる火の粉を払わなければならん。
各機、出撃せよ!」
Bright: He could be lurking here somewhere, but for now, we need to deal with any potential threats we happen across. All units, launch!

(The player’s team deploys.)

アムロ
「以前、この世界に来た時、
インベーダーは確認されていなかったが…」
Amuro: We didn’t find any Invaders the last time we came to this world...

ルーシェン
「早乙女博士はどこかで見ているのか…?」
Lu-Shen: Could Dr. Saotome be watching us from somewhere...?

童馬
「あいつらを叩きのめしゃ、出て来るだろうぜ!」
Ryoma: Then he oughta show up once we grind these guys into pulp!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(This line triggers if Ryoma battles an enemy.)

龍馬
「余所の世界まで手を伸ばそうなんざ、
図々しいんだよ!」
Ryoma: Who the hell said you bastards could spread to other worlds, huh!?

(Battle 1 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

トーレス
「周辺の海中にインベーダーの反応あり!」
Torres: We’re detecting more Invaders from the coast!

ミサト
「!」
Misato: !

(More Invaders appear.)

ユニス
「次から次へと!
鬱陶しいわね、インベーダーは!」
Eunice: It’s just one after the other! These Invaders are so annoying!


(Scene ends.)

(Next scene picks up where it left off.)


韻子
「あいつら、数が増えてる…!」
Inko: Their numbers just keep growing...!

隼人
「奴らは細胞レベルで驚異的な増殖を繰り返す。
他の生物を同化することもある」
Hayato: They can multiply at a cellular level extraordinarily fast. They can also assimilate with other life-forms.

伊奈帆
「つまり、この辺りの海洋生物を
取り込んだというわけですか」
Inaho: In other words, they’ve taken in the surrounding sea life.

鉄也
「生態系を壊すどころの話ではないな…!」
Tetsuya: Now’s not the time to be worried about the ecosystem...!

弁慶
「気を抜くと自分達も喰われるぞ!
さっさと蹴散らすんだ!」
Benkei: They’ll eat you alive if you don’t watch yourself! Send ‘em packing!

(Battle 2 begins.)

(Battle 2 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

龍馬
「どうした、早乙女のジジイ!?
さっさと出て来やがれ!」
Ryoma: Where are you, old man Saotome!? Get out here already!

ブライト
「…トーレス、
現戦域内にインベーダーの反応はあるか?」
Bright: ...Torres, can you detect anymore Invaders in the combat zone?

トーレス
「いえ。掃討しました」
Torres: No, sir. They’ve all been wiped out.

龍馬
「あの野郎、怖じ気付きやがったか!?」
Ryoma: Now that bastard’s got cold feet!?

ヒイロ
「奴は何らかの目的があってゲートに飛び込んだ。
今回の襲撃は時間稼ぎかも知れない」
Heero: He dove into the Gate with some kind of objective in mind. This attack may have just been to buy time.

ミサト
「既にインベーダーがこの世界で増殖を
始めていたら厄介ね…」
Misato: We’re in trouble if the Invaders are already multiplying in this world...

マデューカス
「なるほど…。
あなた方が再びこの世界へ現れた事情は
理解しました」
Mardukas: I see... I now have an understanding of the circumstances that lead you back to this world.

マデューカス
「あなた方はこのまま
ドクター・サオトメを追うつもりですか?」
Mardukas: Do you intend to pursue this Doctor Saotome?

シマ
「そうしたいところですが、この世界において
我々だけで動くのは厳しいでしょう」
Shima: If we are able, but that will be difficult to accomplish acting on our own.

ブライト
「マデューカス中佐、
早乙女博士とインベーダーの件は…」
Bright: Commander Mardukas, regarding Dr. Saotome and the Invaders...

マデューカス
「上層部には報告します。
ただ、サオトメの追跡は難しいかも知れません」
Mardukas: I’ll inform my superiors of this. However, tracking down Saotome may prove difficult.

ブライト
「………」
Bright: ...

万丈
「…それは、テスタロッサ艦長が
不在なことと何か関係が?」
Banjo: ...Is that due to Captain Testarossa’s absence?

ブライト
「万丈…!」
Bright: Banjo...!

マデューカス
「………」
Mardukas: ...

万丈
「失礼。
込み入った事情を聞いてしまいましたかね」
Banjo: My apologies. I shouldn’t have asked about a delicate matter like that.

マデューカス
「…いえ、お話してもいいでしょう。
テスタロッサ大佐は…」
Mardukas: ...No, I think it would be best to inform you. Captain Testarossa is—

「いやー、やっと日本に帰って来られたわ。
一時は[メリダ島]に連れて行かれる流れだったし、
もう戻れないかと思ったわよ」
Kaname: Ahh, finally back in Japan. I thought I’d never be back after you guys dragged me to [Merida Island].

宗介
(千鳥には伏せられているが、
今回の日本帰国はあくまで一時的な措置に過ぎない)
Sousuke: (Although we haven’t told her yet, Chidori’s return to Japan is only temporary.)

宗介
(カウンセリングの結果、長い並行世界の旅や、
慣れない生活もあって、無意識の内にストレスが
溜まっていて、そのケアのためだということだが…)
Sousuke: (After some counseling, it was determined that after traveling on a long voyage to parallel worlds and being unable to adjust to her life, she had begun to build up stress unconsciously. Coming here is supposed to remedy that...)

宗介
(彼女の身の安全を考えるのであれば、
当初の予定通りにメリダ島での保護が最善だと
思うが、何か俺の知らない理由があるのか…?)
Sousuke: (But as far as ensuring her physical safety goes, safeguarding her on Merida Island as planned would be the most logical thing to do... Is there some other reason I’m unaware of...?)

かなめ
「アークエンジェルのみんなとか元気にしてるかしらね。
オーブまでは無事に着いたけど…」
Kaname: I hope everyone on the Archangel is okay. I know they made it to Orb safe, but...

宗介
「千鳥、オーブの件は極秘事項だ。
