  1. Paloma believes that everyone can benefit from friendship... but what she doesn't say, or recognise within herself, is that she believes everyone can benefit from /her/ friendship. Most trolls accept her, either as a friend or a resource to be used, and so few see her dogged side - the side which won't accept that someone might not want to know her.

  3. As far as she's concerned, anyone who says they don't want to be friends is just shy, or unable to admit it, and it takes something like heartbreak to actually drive her away. Even if someone manages to drive her off, she'll continue to care, because once she begins to care about a troll she views them as hers and just can't stop giving a damn.

  5. We see the effects of this doggedness with Cucali. Even though she clearly wants Paloma to leave her alone, Paloma can't admit that Cucali might not actually want her around - she finds excuses in the pitiful actions Cucali took with her, ignoring the actual words coming out of Cucali's mouth. She won't accept that Cucali doesn't love her, because she she can't comprehend that someone she loves doesn't love her back. It's for this reason that she's blissfully ignorant of all the trolls using her, as well -- she thinks that because she adores them, they adore her right back.

  7. In essence, Paloma believes that her wish for friendship is enough of a reason for someone to be her friend, and she won't accept no for an answer. She's very possessive, and it's shown in unhealthy ways when she's rejected. This is why Shadow Paloma is so prone to sexual assault -- she actually expresses her belief that if she wants something, she should get it, instead of repressing it and only showing it by being a dogged nice girl.
