13.
14. >Be Jasmine Leaf
15. >Your human is late getting home
16. >Not that you care
17. >He's better than the trainers and the auction house, but he's still a slaver
18. >Just because he owns you doesn't mean you care about him
19. >Nope
20. >Not at all
21. >You're just worried about what's going to happen to you if he goes missing
22. >Ponies aren't allowed outside alone here, so you can't get more groceries without him
23. >And that's if you could even find some of that weird paper money
24. >The city is like a hundred Manehattens and there's no way you could make it out before someone saw you
25. >Escape isn't possible so you have to rely on him for everything
26. >Honestly, he's pretty okay
27. >Even if he does treat you like a pet
28. >He literally bought you to cuddle on the couch and watch movies
29. >You've come to terms with it, mostly
30. >It helps that he spoils you
31. >Good food, your own room, and this super-comfy hoodie
32. >A small mountain of new and interesting tea from all over this world
33. >And those ear scratchies still make you drool
34. >N-not that you like cuddling with him or anything
35. >And you definitely don't miss him
36. >Nuh uh
37. >You just don't want to be alone anymore...
38.
39.
40. ==============================
41.
42.
43. >Still Jasmine Leaf
44. >Your human didn't come home last night
45. >You're not worried
46. >You're not!
47. >O-okay, you are
48. >Just a little
49. >He's been gone for an entire day
50. >It was the first night you were alone since Equestria and you hated it
51. >Even locked in a cage there were others with you
52. >...
53. >You slept in his bed last night
54. >You're not entirely sure why, but it felt right
55.
56. >Do you like him?
57. >Maybe you do like him
58. >Maybe that's why you feel empty right now
59. >You didn't even realize you made a friend until he went missing
60.
61.
62. ==============================
63.
64.
65. >Jasmine Leaf again
66. >It's been a day and a half
67. >You're well past worried by this point
68. >You haven't left his bed
69. >Right now you're curled up on his pillow
70.
71. >It's... given you a lot of time to think
72. >But that's only making it worse
73. >You realized how much of a jerk you've been to him
74. >And how he never got angry about it
75. >The last thing you said to him was "Fuck off asshole"
76. >He smiled and rubbed your ears, and then went to work
77. >What if he never comes back?
78. >What if that's the last thing you ever say to him?
79. >...
80. >You want to apologize
81. >And tell him how much you're glad he bought you
82. >It’s not the ideal situation
83. >But he gave you a home
84. >You never felt like a slave with him
85. >Ugh why is this so confusing
86. >You know Equestria is gone
87. >You know nopony can go back
88. >He may not have been involved in it but you're still his property
89. >And instead of being angry at him, all you want to do is hug him
90. >This place is your home now, and he made you feel loved
91. >That big jerk
92.
93. >*THUD THUD THUD*
94. >!
95. >Wait, nevermind
96. >He wouldn’t knock
97. >It’s probably the mailhuman or something
98. >Did he order some more tea for you?
99. >Well, maybe it’ll cheer you up a little
100. >You roll yourself to the side of the bed and ease yourself down
101. >Straighten your comfy hoodie and fix your mane
102. >Well, try to fix your mane at least
103. >And your tail is such a mess only a brushing can help it
104. >Whatever
105. >Looking good is too much effort and you just want to drink some tea, curl up on his pillow, and sleep
106. >You slowly trudge out of his bedroom when you hear the front door open
107. >THE FRONT DOOR OPEN
108. >OKAY DON’T PANIC
109. >M-maybe your human got home at the same time
110. >A burglar wouldn’t have knocked, right?
111. >Right, that would be dumb
112. >”Jasmine? Hello?”
113. >AND THAT’S NOT HIS VOICE
114. >FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK
115. >As quietly as you can you sneak back into the bedroom
116. >You’re small enough to hide all sorts of places
117. >Your ears are spinning back and forth, trying to pick up any sound you can
118. >Under the bed is too obvious
119. >The dresser? No, he’ll probably open the drawers looking for stuff to steal
120. >Under the dresser? You might be able to squeeze-
121. >...
122. >Wait
123. >Hold on a second
124. >How did they know your name?
125. >You haven’t met anyone here
126. >Humans don’t know who their neighbors are
127. >”Hello? Jasmine Leaf? You awake?”
128. >...
129. >Okay.
130. >Something’s going on here and you need to find out what
131. >He already knows you’re here, he’ll find you eventually
132. >Better to be cautious though
133. >Slowly and quietly, you sneak through the hallway
134. >You can hear some ruffling in the room ahead of you
135. >Your heart is still thudding in your breast
136. >You peek around the corner and hope the intruder doesn’t notice you right away
137.
138. >He’s taller than your human
139. >His hair is longer, and he has a scruffy little beard
140. >Outside of that, well...
141. >Normal looking, you guess?
142. >Humans all kinda look the same except for color and hairstyles
143. >He hangs up his jacket next to the door and crouches down to untie his shoes
144. >And a pony comes in behind him
145. >Pink pegasus mare with a purple mane and tail
146. >Sun and clouds cutie mark. Weather related probably
147. >He takes her collar off and runs his fingers through the matted fur underneath
148. >And she starts wagging her tail like an excited dog?
149. >Does it really feel that good?
150. >...
151. >Okay, so he’s not an abusive asshole
152. >She looks legitimately happy
153. >So, what now?
154.
155. >The mare spots you peeking around the corner and waves, drawing the human’s attention
156. >Shit. Just, don’t panic
157. >”Jasmine?”
158. >You nod
159. >”I’m Anon, and this is Clear Skies” he gestures to the pegasus, “hope you don’t mind having company tonight. Steve asked us to stop by and make sure you were okay.”
160. >You nod again. Okay, that’s not so bad. A little warning would have been nice.
161. >”Good news is that he’s doing okay and he misses you. Bad news is that he’s in the hospital until tomorrow.”
162. >Your stomach dropped a bit when he said ‘hospital’, b-but he can’t be too sick if he’s coming home tomorrow.
163. >”Have you eaten yet? We brought lunch.”
164. >...
165. >Yeah, lunch sounds nice.
166.
167. >...
168.
169. >Okay, when Anon said he brought lunch what he actually meant is ‘two whole bags of mexican food’.
170. >There must be thirty burritos here.
171. >Not that you’re complaining. If there’s one thing humans do well it’s fast food.
172. >So here you are, eating lunch with a strange human and an overly-cheerful pegasus.
173. >Clear’s smile is infectious.
174. >And it’s nice having company you guess
175. >These two are really close.
176. >Clear is sitting in Anon’s lap and everything
177. >She’s kindof a messy eater, going at her burrito muzzle-first
178. >You won’t judge as long as you don’t have to clean it up
179. >As for Anon, you’d think he’s starving.
180. >He’s on burrito five and not slowing down
181. >Like, you know humans are way bigger than ponies but come on
182. >You take a sip of your fruit punch as you watch them
183. >Clear is doing this happy little wiggle
184. >You’d think she was some excited filly but she’s clearly an adult. Maybe even older than you
185. >She leans her head back and goes “Aaaaaaah”
186. >Actually, you’re not sure about that. Maybe she’s just an unusually big filly
187. >”Hmm? You sure?”
188. >”Yeah, I wanna try it.” she responds with a little bounce
189. >Anon lowers his burrito into nomming range and she wastes no time
190. >She chews it slowly with a very serious expression, smiles, and swallows
191. >Then immediately hops up to snag another, bigger bite
192. >”Ish good!”
193. >Braver than you are. You can smell how spicy it is from over here
194. >The small pile of wrappers Anon has next to him all say ‘carne asada’. You don’t know what kind of pepper that is, and you don’t want to know. You tried a habanero once and you never will again
195. “So, how do you know Steve?”
196. >Clear snags another bite as he turns his attention to you
197. >”Well I don’t really. He got in contact with the Seattle Pony Society and I used to volunteer with them a bunch. I don’t have the time to work with them anymore but I try to help out when I can.”
198. >Huh. Didn’t know that was a thing.
199.
200. >Clear stands up on his lap and nuzzles his cheek, then jumps down and trots over to the couch. She pokes at the remote a bit and you can hear the channel flipping
201. >Good luck finding something interesting with this many channels
202. >Anon finishes the rest of his burrito and opens number six
203. >”So, what about you? Lemme guess, with that cutie mark I’m guessing you ran a tea store?”
204. >You swallow the delicious bean and cheese goodness and nod
205. “Good guess. Just something small in Ponyville. Not the biggest market but it was enough to get by. I used to think about moving to Canterlot one day where a third of the city is a snobby noblepony, but... well, it never happened you know? With all the monster attacks and magical accidents Ponyville had I could never save up the money to do it.”
206. >”I understand completely. It took me four years of living on rice and instant noodles to move out here. Was Ponyville really that dangerous? I know it’s right next to that Everfree place but I didn’t know it was so destructive.”
207. >Oh? Well that’s a surprise. Literally the first human you’ve met that knows something about back home.
208. “The Everfree Forest was pretty bad but it usually kept to itself. Ponyville became some kind of wierdness magnet once Nightmare Moon came back. That’s where the first human showed up, you know. About a year before the other portals opened. He was really nice.”
209. >Such a sweetheart. Once you got used to the swearing, at least.
210. >”Yeah, I heard about that. If even half of the stories are true he made humanity proud. But, uh, don’t tell anyone I said that. All that stuff is still classified.”
211. “They’re true. I’m not surprised it’s still a secret, if everyone knew what happened I doubt they’d be so accepting of everything that came afterwards.”
212. >Well, this little chat turned depressing pretty fast
213.
214. >You look over at Clear. Slumped over on her side, eyelids starting to sag. You can see her belly bulge a little from overstuffing herself, and expect an afternoon nap is next on her list
215. >Anon opens burrito number eight in his valiant and slightly scary attempt at eating your bodyweight in fast food
216. >Hmm. You know, you never did get that tea. Maybe your new friends would like some?
217. “Anon, would you like some tea? I have a package of orange and hibiscus that I’ve been wanting to try.”
218. >”That sounds great. Do you want any help in the kitchen?”
219. >You know, today’s a pretty good day.
220.
221.
222. ==============================
223.
224.
225. >Jasmine Leaf time
226. >This is one of the best days you’ve had since Equestria.
227. >And considering how it started, that’s saying something.
228.
229. >Anon is an amazing cook.
230. >Seriously.
231. >He brought a bag of groceries and just casually made ‘manchego mac with spinach stuffed mushrooms’ like he does this every day.
232. >Which he might, actually.
233. >It was halfway between fancy restaurant in Canterlot and homey comfort food and you couldn’t get enough of it.
234. >You’d ask for the recipe but there’s no way you could make something like that.
235. >And Clear Skies. She’s not very talkative but she’s really sweet and just being around her makes you smile. You didn’t think anyone could be this happy on Earth, and it’s just so cute how close they are.
236. >It reminds of you of Fluttershy and all her cuddly critters.
237. >Except you can understand when they’re talking.
238.
>And being honest with yourself, her happy wiggling makes her flank jiggle perfectly...
239. >Once you noticed it you couldn’t take your mind off of it.
240. >Unf
241. >You know what you’re doing tonight.
242. >And next heat you’re totally gonna ask her out for a stress-relief romp.
243. >It’s not quite the same as having a cooler but hopefully she’ll be interested.
244. >You can’t even remember the last time you brought somepony to bed, and toys can only do so much.
245. >But that line of thought can wait a few minutes.
246.
247. >You trot into the livingroom and find your guests curled up on the couch.
248. >Clear is lying down with her head in Anon’s lap. Looks like she’s taking an after dinner snooze.
249. >Must have been really tired to crash like that. She has her muzzle towards him and her cuddling has kinda pushed it into his crotch.
250. >Pretty embarrassing but you’ll be a sis about it. Anon looks a little uncomfortable too, with his face that red.
251. >Definitely don’t want to wake her up. It’s been such a good night you don’t want to ruin it with some sitcom-level awkward misunderstanding.
252. >You take a few steps closer and whisper-
253. “I’m going to take a bath. Do you need to use the toilet? It’ll take me a while to wash up.”
254. >He shakes his head
255. >”We-” he takes a deep breath ”we both went right after dinner.”
256. >Come to think of it Anon doesn’t look so good. Not just blushing from close contact, he’s sweating too. Maybe he overdid it?
257. >There has to be a limit to his appetite and he might have pushed it too far. Some ponies could eat whatever they want with no issues, but your sister always got indigestion when she gorged herself on cupcakes.
258. “Are you feeling okay? We have some antacids in the pantry and I think there’s some club soda in the fridge. Want me to grab some for you?”
259. >One of Clear’s legs starts twitching-
260. >Uh oh. That might’ve been too loud. You don’t want to interrupt her nap. Whisper quieter.
261. >”N-no, I’m fine. Just a little sore. Busy day. Go ahead and take a bath.”
262. >Well, alright you guess. You’ll take his word for it. Maybe dinner was a pony recipe and it’s not quite agreeing with him? But his face is getting redder and redder, so maybe this is normal when humans are really embarrassed? Between a few years of being around humans and all this television you’d think you wouldn’t have any trouble reading humans, but sometimes you’re just stumped.
263. >He definitely looks like he’s blushing. It would be a surprise if Anon’s this shy around mares with how affectionate and close these two are.
264. >Though even between really good friends like they are, you can see why this kind of accidentally-lewd cuddling would be really uncomfortable.
265. “Okay. The TV is a little loud right when you turn it on, so make sure you turn the volume down first.”
266. >He makes a jerky nod and you can see him awkwardly clenching and unclenching his hand.
267. >You literally don’t know what that means in humans, but probably more stuff about his stomach ache? You’re not going to force feed him antacids or anything like that, but there’s no reason for him to just suffer through it.
268. >Or maybe there is...? Maybe they don’t work the same way in humans as they do in ponies? You should ask him later, it might be useful to know.
269. >Ugh, too many questions, not enough warm bath.
270. “And whenever you want, there’s a linen closet next to the laundry room” you point towards the back corner of the kitchen “with a couple blankets when you’re ready to turn in for the night.”
271. >You give him a sweet smile and turn back towards the bedroom hallway.
272. >Time for a nice, long, relaxing soak. And maybe a little hoof action. You just got an eyeful of perfectly plump pony plot and you like what you saw.
273.
274. >GLURK COUGH COUGH HACK COUGH
275. >!
276. >You whip back around and take a few totally-not-panicked steps out of the bathroom to see Clear wide awake, doubled over trying to catch her breath
277. >That didn’t sound good at all...
278. “Clear? A-are you okay?”
279. >”Yeah” cough “I’m- “ gasp “I’m fine. Just something” cough cough “stuck in my throat.”
280. >Anon is already handing her a drink.
281. >He looks as spooked as you are.
282.
283.
