  1. Why did you pick Swallows to become involved in? What about it spoke to you?
  2.
  3. I have always wanted to work with the team behind ‘Swallows’ as an actor, having seen their work on ‘Lobes’. I read one of the early drafts and loved how, for me, ‘Swallows’ provides a final note of optimism despite an impending apocalypse and the selfishness of the characters – Henry Roberts is a hugely talented writer who has written incredibly nuanced characters which are really fun to play.
  4.
  5. How is the cast/crew bonding/work? What do you like about the dynamic?
  6.
  7. The cast and crew of Swallows are a great people to work with – while there are some very old working relationships, as well as some very new, Oli has worked hard to make sure that everyone feels like they have a voice in the project, meaning it very much feels like a collaborative process which we can all be proud of.
  8.
  9. What excites you most about The Greenhouse?
  10.
  11. I am incredibly excited to see how The Greenhouse will hopefully encourage others to think about how they can make theatre that is more sustainable without losing creative integrity. The work that all the shows of The Greenhouse have managed to achieve while remaining environmentally conscious is incredible and I am excited for the public to now see it!
  12.
  13. Describe Ella - what about her character and motivations drew you in?
  14.
  15. Ella knows that the ecosystem is on the verge of collapse but truly believes that she can save it, even if it means sacrificing herself, or despite when it is clear the opposite is true. However, unlike Harry she recognises that ‘action’ won’t work on its own and needs ideas and education to support it. Ella is the only woman of the play but holds her own against two men; while the quietest of the group, she is the most aware of the doomed nature of the situation and yet is still dedicated to her belief.
