they paralyzed rhodey which is not a horrid thing in and of itself obviously disability is not "the worst thing" by any means but i strongly suspect that they did this in order to essentially write him out of the movies since they aren't doing more iron man films really, so the fact that he's now paralyzed will mean he ~can't contribute~ and be a part of the avengers movies now and that's really abhorrent to do to one of the franchise's already few poc lol

steve/sharon still has absolutely zero build-up and steve kisses her and i knew that and i LOVE sharon and I REALLY ACTUALLY LOVE STEVE/SHARON TOO so i'm not saying this as someone who finds the relationship boring to begin with (in... the comics at least lol...) but they've legitimately spoken for about 5 minutes on-screen total and they actually seem to imply they HAVEN'T spoken OFF-screen either, so they very literally barely know each other. sharon says "that was..." after he kisses her and steve says, "late", and she says "damn right", and i'm like. what??? how can it be late??? what??? lol

i really don't understand why tony's mom is blonde and it's bugging me because i don't think we were ever given an explanation for what ethnicity maria is specifically but she had dark hair, spoke spanish (and taught tony), and her name was "carbonell" before she married howard so i'm not sure why she's blonde???? i just can't help but feel like that's iffy lol

i lied here's another i'm really annoyed that they had to make aunt may so ~unexpectedly attractive~ and make half of that scene about tony thinking she was hot

OH RIGHT LMAO IDK HOW I FORGOT THIS SINCE I'M FURIOUS BUT WTF DID THEY DO TO TONY AND PEPPER??? i am not ok at all with some off-screen "break" on their relationship lol that's bullshit and it's not fair to pepper at all. they also frame it in such an awful way, like pepper is just angry and won't be in a relationship with him because of his superhero stuff and he's like I THOUGHT THE ACCORDS WOULD BE A NICE MIDDLEGROUND ???? wtf lol wtf wtf wtf unacceptable

GOOD THINGS

I AM HONESTLY JUST REALLY HAPPY ABOUT SAM AND BUCKY... some of my favorite cap comics are with bucky!cap and sam running around and their banter ;; so they got a lot of tiny moments together and some time together when they were fighting peter and "CAN YOU MOVE YOUR SEAT UP?" "NO" LMAO WAS PROBABLY THE FUNNIEST PART OF THE MOVIE...

i am so proud of natasha in every scene and everything she does really she is so lovely and she was so good with t'challa and i really hope they interact more bc they had so many small but intimate moments and i really, really loved it.

T'CHALLA WAS PERFECT he was so perfect and so well done and i think they truly did him justice and i'm ?? shocked and relieved but i was really happy with his presence and HIS SUIT LOOKED AMAZING HIS FIGHTING WAS AMAZING and he was truly such a GOOD man and i felt like he was pretty perfectly IC like gosh i just. rly. felt. like they did him justice.

peter was cute!! i still don't like little baby peter tbh and forcing him to repeat hs again and again but i think he was... suitable for the age they portrayed him as? and he was funny!! i definitely laughed. i will be really happy if he and tony's mentorship develops further.

WANDA AND VISION WERE RLY CUTE I'M RLY HAPPY he made her dinner!! i was squeaking, so sweet. rly cute. i was happy to see wanda and clint interact too ;; and i'm glad that nat and clint's relationship is still important and 100% platonic.

i'm so sad for sharon not getting more screen time because i love her as a part of team cap and the moments where sam hugged her or comforted her in the comics were rly ;;;; so i had just... rly... hoped... to see them at least talk one-on-one but lol i thought, at the very least, her speech about peggy was nice. the quote attributed to peggy is also my literal favorite from all cap comics so i was THRILLED to see it included like that. ;~~~~;

bucky was handled well and of course his story is as gut-wrenching as always :( i... am honestly disappointed with the ending, in that he's being put back under. i love that he's in wakanda (WHICH LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE AWESOME???) and i think it's understandable why he'd feel more comfortable doing this for now, but it makes me sad that we had so much build-up to getting him back and hopefully being able to help him, only to put him to sleep again. it's under very different circumstances, of course, and more through his own agency, so that's great, but i'll still miss him. . - .

i loved tony. i loved, loved, loved tony. "i love you dad, you did your best." gfkghdkfg lol please. punch me. it would be preferable. i am so proud of how much he's developed and how much he's changed -- how he looks at his own actions so critically now and seeks accountability for mistakes where he would have brushed it all off. BUT MOST OF ALL, "he killed my MOM." thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you finally lol for including this. tony stark, who says, "everything good in me is from my mother", who names charities after her, all this... his mother is such a crucial figure in his life in every universe and i've been so MAD this whole time that the mcu has been "howard howard howard" -- the comics favor him heavily too lol but at least there was a strong sense that he loved, respected and admired his mother, whereas we've barely heard about her in the movies. so thank you, for making that line be about his mother, not "my parents", certainly not "my dad", but "he killed my mom." i was really, really pleased.

i am very happy with steve and tony's relationship. i think, at the heart of all of steve and tony's disagreements, has almost always been their tendency to behave the same way. at the end of the day i think they're both people who keep things close to the chest, who don't want to hurt or disappoint the other, and who are stubborn about doing "the right thing" in their own way. i think it's important to show that steve lies to tony, too -- tony is not the only person in this friendship who keeps secrets. tony is also not the only person who would rather handle things himself and tony is not the only person who doubts that steve will back him up. the problem with this is that they're wrong, and they should have learned that by now in 616, but maybe they can learn in the mcu lol.
