  1. Her hands clap together as her holy aura is subdued- and she gives another sigh. Of course that's what he is. Probably. She can't assume- but she's had suspicions for years about someone else.
  2.
  3. Anyhow. Instead of starting with his face, then- she'll start by siphoning out the pure holy mana.
  4.
  5. Regardless of holy magic or not now, though- she's going to be binding him to the bed.
  6.
  7. Water begins to form in the air around him- then condense into ice- very, very thick ice, which acts as sets of weights to hold the man to the bed. Abusing her new-found knowledge- the ice is imbued with contained holy energy, ideally bolstering their ability to hold the man down.
  8.
  9. It might hurt a bit, but it'll hurt a lot less than if Taiga thrashes around while she's fixing his face and gets stabbed through the skull with her scalpel.
  10.
  11. With her tools sanitized, a frosty chill surrounds them- she still can use this, at least- which will certainly help dull the pain as the cold numbs his flesh.
  12.
  13. There will still be pain, though.
  14.
  15. Lots of pain.
  16.
  17. This is going to hurt a lot.
  18.
  19. She steps forward next to him on the bed, and takes up a chilled scalpel.
  20.
  21. Then she begins to cut into the burned flesh. For the first moment or two- there isn't actually any pain. Once the chill blade hits the living nerves, though- it is immense.
  22.
  23. Now he would know why the precautions of holy-infused ice weights were necessary.
  24.
  25. The very seriously painful pain carries on for a while- the burn being on his face means she has to take her time so she doesn't leave any more scarring than is already going to remain.
  26.
  27. Kairi eventually pulls the burnt, dead flesh off- the eye socket is still damaged, but she'll deal with that soon.
  28.
  29. Cold water flows over his face- but not into his eye socket- and makes sure the now exposed raw flesh on hisface remains clean.
  30.
  31. Oh, and the water means the now-flowing blood on his face doesn't go wild, and cover everything. That's nice too, mhm.
  32.
  33. Her scalpel is placed back on the icy tray- and a jar of lax essence is taken up in her hands and opened. The cold slightly-bloody water flows away from the wounded man's face, and a layer of the cream is smoothed over around his face- which nigh-instantly soothes a majority of the pain.
  34.
  35. Now, is the time for his eye. Ooh. Hmm. Well- briefly examining the socket itself leads the selkie to conclude that it is mostly fine. So- now she just has to figure out what she's going to do with it.
  36.
  37. The simplest solution is to secure a plate of mythril over it- it would require no maintenance, and no effort on Taiga's part to use.
  38.
  39. If he wanted to see, though- she'd need to put together a prosthetic eye. Would require maintenance, but- depth perception.
  40.
  41. So! She puts it up to Taiga. Who can hopefully respond.
  42.
  43. "Alright! If you can respond! Do you want to be able to see with two eyes again? Or do you want something simple that you don't have to maintain?"
  44. (Kairi)
  45.
  46. Ixis Ultovex has entered Tezoxochel's Clinic.
  47.
  48. Taiga is subjected to quite the intense care from Kairi - including, unfortunately, some of the worst pain in his life. Regardless of what physically she wrought upon him, there was another thing that stung - having to reveal his true nature. The more people knew he was a ghoul the worse. Breaking the masquerade set by Salvas and Shizuko and showing their true intent to the world through his progeny would only serve to endanger them.
  49.
  50. The water that forms around him chills his skin, leaving him buckled to the bed and laid sprawled out, helpless to the operation at hand.
  51.
  52. As Kairi begins the operation, she'd be able to observe a rather odd phenomenon. As cutting into his flesh for the sake of surgery would reveal his biology to be somewhat dissimilar to normal humans. Her cuts, when striking down to the nerves and veins would seem to clot themselves naturally quicker by some margin. At the very least, where such healing processes were normally so slow as to be almostinvisible to the naked eye, Taiga's platelets seemed to almost cling and knit themselves back together under close inspection, what little energy left in his body working frantically to repair the damage already wrought.
  53.
  54. It's still painful as all hell, of course, agony every waking moment under the constant pricking pain of Kairi's knife. He'd much rather be sedated under as much soothereed as could be ingested but ah - well. Such was the life of a prideful arrogant teen who had decided to go and fight ALL THE MONSTERS for the sake of some silly expedition.
  55.
  56. By the end of it all, he looks weary and dim, barely awake to answer the all important question. Looking up to Kairi, he takes a moment to ponder from his slumped position propped up on a nice pillow in his hospital bed. Finally, he answers -
  57.
  58. "I..." he touches against his face gently, feeling the damage that was still there. The ugly burns on his face that had scarred him forever. Even after this, they'd still be there forever, no matter how hard his nature worked against it. Until he grew stronger. Until he ascended. It angered him to no end to be stuck with such horrible wound. So he answers earnestly.
  59.
  60. "Want something to cover that would help cover the burns. It would be unsightly, were Klaus to see me like this. A leather patch of some sort... reinforced with mithril. I will suffer through this as a lesson for my mistakes. Though one day I shall surpass it. For now, Kairi, that much should do."
  61. (Taiga Voss)
