  57. CAN TRUMP CELEBRATE HIS VICTORY?
  58.
  59. Yes. Clinton campaign leaders made statements Tuesday night giving the nod to her to accept the loss. (The concession calls made by Trump ahead of polls closing appear to have been forgeries that the Clinton campaign called out during the night). The campaign also suggested that the Republican Party could work together and push for President-elect Trump to begin work on tax reform and infrastructure spending.
  60.
  61. HOW MANY STATES CALLED IT FOR CLINTON?
  62.
  63. 22, more than the number called for Trump in the previous two presidential elections: one each in Iowa, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Virginia, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Arizona, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Pennsylvania, California, and Maine.
  64.
  65. WHY DID NO STATE CALL IT FOR TRUMP?
  66.
  67. The presidential contest remained close across the country as Election Day came to a close, with a plethora of swing states still up for grabs. Several states were still too close to call as the Associated Press called the presidential election for Clinton at 2:48 a.m.
  68.
  69. Why they didn’t call it for Clinton is unclear.
  70.
  71. WHAT WE KNOW
  72.
  73. —Clinton fought a strong battle to keep the White House for Democrats for the first time in eight years. Democrats were competitive in all but one of the four most competitive states: Florida, Missouri, North Carolina and Ohio.
  74.
  75. —Clinton also prevailed in Colorado, Virginia, New Hampshire, and swing states Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, all in her quest to turn a national Democratic majority into a turnaround that puts a Democrat in the White House for the first time since Bill Clinton in 1993-94.
