  2. -----MMM/ISG FAQ-----
  3. =====================
  4.
  5. Q | What is all that Funky stuff at the beginning?
  6. A | Well, it's known as MMM or Main Menu Moves. Through a sequence of actions in the space of 4.5 minutes, we complete a few training barrels (2 on N64, 3 on VC), and clear a few boss Cutscenes (All bar Army Dillo 1 & 2). We also gain access to moves (By entering Fungi Boss at the end, along with entering Monkey Smash throughout)
  7.
  8. Q | Awesome! Any Drawbacks?
  9. A | Yes. Because the game thinks we're in the Main Menu (Game Mode #5, as opposed to Adventure Mode, which is Game Mode #6), we have infinite health because the game disables health loss (aside from insta-death zones - eg. Lava in Helm Lobby, along with Damage Storage methods), we cannot auto-save (Because you cannot save in the Main Menu) and we cannot pause (Because the Main Menu disables all actions binded towards pressing the start button).
  10.
  11. Q | What is ISG?
  12. A | By cancelling the Intro Story cutscene during a specific time frame after we start it, we can re-enter the Main Menu (and Adventure Mode) whilst the game still thinks we are viewing the Intro Story.
  13. Because there are fade-out points (where it transitions between scenes), it fades us back to some place (depending on where we are) if we watch a cutscene after this fade-out point.
  14. By viewing a cutscene (so it starts to pull us in) but cancelling it with a 'DK Transition', we can cancel these fade-outs, and when we 'cancel a fadeout', we remove all fade-out points that have already occurred. From then, if we play another cutscene, we won't be faded out of where we are until we pass another fade-out point.
  15. This glitch is incredibly powerful and enables a branch of things to occur, along with MMM.

  17.
  18. Q | What is bad about Leg Shake/Night Cycle/Rain Cycle?
  19. A | At the end of MMM, we wait on the Main Menu to try and get a cutscene to occur to pull us into the game. There are 10 'events' which can happen on the Main Menu, 7 of which are cutscenes (eg. Kremlings chasing after Butterflies), whereas 3 are not. These 3 are if DK shakes his leg, it turns to Night or it starts raining. For some reason, these don't pull us into the story.
  20.
  21. Q | How come you can pause towards the end of the run and take damage?
  22. A | Because we get all 40 Blueprints, we get the ability to enter Snide's mini-games. Because Snide's mini-games is a different Game-Mode (Game Mode #13), this switches the game-mode from Main Menu and then back to Adventure mode when we exit (enabling all the normal things to occur again).
  23.
  24. Q | But aren't Bosses/Bonus Games a Game-Mode? How come this won't switch you back to Adventure Mode?
  25. A | Yes, that is a Game-Mode (Game Mode #12). However, unlike Snide's Mini-Game Game Mode (Which upon exiting, sends you back specifically to Adventure Mode), Bosses/Bonus Games sends you back to the previous Game Mode. Since we're in the Main Menu every time we enter a Boss/Bonus Barrel, when we exit this game mode, it'll send us back to the Main Menu Game Mode rather than the Adventure Game Mode.
