| PERSONALITY:
› if one had to describe minseok in one word, most would probably go with "feisty" or "hot-headed". he's quite easily irritated and he likes to bicker. add a huge ego on top of that and you've got yourself a deadly mix. as if that wasn't enough, he's the most competitive person he knows. he brags about winning and gets pissed when he loses. just, the worst, basically.
- even though he may seem like the biggest brat, he cares. deep down. he usually doesn't show it, but if he notices one of the members in a bad mood, you bet he'd send them a link to a vine compilation (cute animals edition) or leave their favorite snack in their room. he really just does the little things that may or may not put them in a better mood, if only for a few minutes. vân would never admit that he's the one doing these things, though. he dislikes being seen as soft. in his mind, he has to seem a bit rude and unapproachable so that no one can get close enough to hurt him.
- minseok is super indecisive and can change his mind in a second. not the best person to bring to a restaurant.
back to the bickering thing. he absolutely loves making fun of people. not really because he wants to hurt them, it's just his sense of humor that's shit. and if someone ever tries to criticize him, he has the best clap-backs. his mind works amazingly fast when it comes to being savage.
- basically, he's really nice when he wants to be. it's just that it isn't very often.

| BACKGROUND:
› minseok's mother was a transfer student at the time minseok's parents became a couple. a few months later and quyền thị yên is a pregnant woman living permanently in south korea. and soon enough, choi minseok (or quyên vân tuyên) was born in daegu to a very loving pair. they were the perfect family, always eating dinner together and doing family activities ranging from visiting jeju to going rock climbing every single sunday. happy ever after isn't a thing, though, and minseok had to learn that when he was still a kid: when he was ten years old, his father left his mother and suddenly there were no more sundays spent in jeju and he rarely saw the wrinkles by his mother's eyes when she smiled. he decided to focus entirely on schoolwork, ice-hockey and football in hopes of getting a well-paid job once he got older. he wanted to make his mother happy, wanted to be a son she could brag about. so, he spent less and less time with his friends outside of his hobbies, and more and more time hunched over his desk. he searched the bleachers for eventual talent scouts every single game, and was let down each time. he completely stopped writing and singing, which he always used to do before. his mother noticed this, and decided to do something about it.
she was usually busy with work but made sure she was free a few hours every sunday afternoon. she took minseok out, whether it be shopping, to a restaurant or just on a walk down the many streets of daegu. the walks were minseok's favorite. he saw teenagers, just like him, dancing, singing and rapping. the crowds were huge and the cheers and applauses so beautiful. minseok craved for that. he hid it deep inside, though; minseok and his mother had to move back to vietnam. thị yên was almost out of money, and had no choice but to move back in with her parents. they stayed there for a couple of years, but once minseok was sixteen, they moved back. thị yên insisted on him attending a korean high school and university, and since her business in interior design had given them enough money, there wasn't much to be discussed. minseok still felt as though he needed a part time job, so he grabbed his guitar and busked on weekends, earning him a few bucks. at one of his 'gigs', he got scouted and was asked to audition. he did, and soon enough he was a trainee.
life as a trainee wasn't much better, and he had to cut down on ice-hockey. he practiced before going to school, after school and into the early hours. balancing a social life, sports, schoolwork and his relationship with his mother was a hard thing to do and his touchy alpha friends weren't really much help.

| HABITS:
› he always listens to a podcast falling asleep.
 - it started when he was in high school in the middle of exams. he recorded himself reading the chapters included in the exams aloud and listened to the recording whilst falling asleep, the reason being a tumblr post which stated that he'd know it all when he woke up. he figured it was a good idea, seeing as he didn't really enjoy studying otherwise, so why not study in his sleep? minseok found himself falling asleep quite quickly and once exams were overwith, he began listening to podcasts instead. preferably about serial killers or just random scientific stuff. true crime works too, solved or not doesn't matter to him.

› sleep-talks.
- started along with the podcasts. while still awake, he mutters responses to what's going on in the podcast. for example, "listeners discretion is advised." - "yeah, yeah. we fucking get it. get on with it already!". he somehow continues to do this in his sleep, but it's all nonsense. sometimes you can't even tell what he's saying.

› he cracks his ankles.
- a lot of people crack their knuckles, but vân can't stand it. he'll glare down whoever the person is, and sometimes even lashes out on them. ironically, he does the same thing, except it's his ankles. they're a bit worn out because of the hours on hours he has spent on ice skates, and if he stretches them enough, they crack. he doesn't even realize that he's doing it most of the time.

| HOBBIES:
› ice hockey
- he's always loved figure skating, but his mother wouldn't let him take classes because "it's a feminine sport, vân, absolutely not!". Her words hurt him at first, but vân knew it was only because she cared about him. he was devastated, but soon enough found ice hockey and begged his mom to sign him up for classes. she did after he whined about it for weeks on end, and he never missed a class. he got good quickly, his passion being the biggest reason. along with the countless hours of practice, of course.

› football
- vân doesn't actually play football anymore, but did for about six years before he became a trainee. he never
thoroughly enjoyed it, but kept going to practices for the same reason he started playing it in the first place: his friends. they were a little disappointed when he told them that his company didn't want him playing it in case of injuries (which was a complete lie. he just took the opportunity his company had unknowingly given him). to vân's relief, they got over it rather quickly.


| TALENTS:

› allergic to nuts. his throat swells up and he can't breathe. so, no pistachio ice-cream for this guy.
› actually loves peanuts which has resulted in four visits to the hospital when he was younger. now he doesn't eat them, just kind of longingly stares at them in the store.
› still eats nutella and regrets it every single time. (it doesn't get too bad, as it's not a lot of peanuts in it. though, his stomach still hurts and he feels sick)
› he's /very/ proud of being half viet, mainly due to his mother's aggressive nationalism.

› his favorite animal is a bearded dragon and he desperately wants one, even if it meant feeding it pinkies and crickets and all that icky stuff.

| did any negative situations happen during their trainee years?
› yes. being an omega in an otherwise alpha-dominated building was hard. he had to deal with a lot of groping, touching and disgusting comments about his appearance which hurt his ego and self love a lot. it took a while to get it back it up to where it was, but it's very fragile which explains why he's so defensive.

| ON-STAGE PERSONALITY:
› asshole. he's rude as fuck whilst performing, and not at all how he is at fansigns. he gets way too into the dance and the mood of the song, which may be good in some cases, but definitely not for the hard stans. he's so hype: when he doesn't have to follow a choreography, he's jumping around and hyping up the audience. definitely the one yelling out the "are you ready?" before a song starts.

| FANSERVICE:
› he's an actual angel with fans, which may or may not confuse those who know him personally. he's so incredibly caring towards them and is always worrying about them. at a fansign, he always asks the fan if they've eaten, no matter what. he isn't much for skinship, but really makes up for it by the things he says. he's also hilarious on variety shows and isn't scared to dirty his angelic reputation.

› daphnis, one of saturn's many moons, along with atlas! daphnis is the moon closest to atlas.
› nyx or nox. in greek mythology, atlas is a titan and has three children with nox (or nyx, which is the more common spelling). nox's appearances are sparse in surviving mythology, but reveal her as a figure of such exceptional power and beauty that she is feared by zeus himself (POWERFUL!!!). nox birthed hemera (day) and aether (brightness), so you could say nyx is the very reason for atlas' (the group, not the greek guy) happiness.
› luna or lunar. in astronomy, there are many things that are named atlas. one of these is a lunar impact crater (like, a dent basically). one could say atlas will always be a part of luna/lunar and that atlas wouldn't exist if it wasn't for luna/lunar!

| ANYTHING ELSE? if necessary, i'll gladly rewrite this to fit the backup-slot! also, i've been referring to this guy as both minseok and vân, sometimes even quyên. i do have a reason for that, though, and that's just because i feel like he'd get called each one of them and the people around him would get quite confused. which would annoy him. a lot.
