I wrote this instead of getting a good night's sleep.

Hi, I was gonna stream tonight, but then I was asked to commentate an SMW tournament match, plus my internet was a little sketch, so I decided to write a pastebin instead lol.

My speedrunning motivation is pretty low right now tbh. This is probably the first time since I've started speedrunning that I haven't had a real motivation for practicing. Usually it's the opposite, I feel like I constantly need to be practicing something, or learning something new, almost anything but actually grind out runs, but for some reason right now I just feel like I should be doing runs. Only problem is I don't feel practiced enough to attempt anything lol. So I'm kind of in a cycle with it, but hoping I'll snap it soon.

Like really soon, with SNES Pentathlon likely happening in a few weeks. I still haven't learned all of Donkey 1, so that's where the focus is gonna be. SMW, LttP, and MMX I'll have to just brush up on, but I'm not too worried. In SM I got a 3 minute PB offline, so I'm feeling pretty comfortable there. I just need to finish learning so I can get some runs under my belt and I'll be ready for the mayhem. As I've mentioned before, I definitely didn't get to where I thought I might be able to when I first concocted this dastardly scheme. A lot of that got pushed back due to relay stuff, but all in all I think I'm not disappointed in where I ended up. We'll see if that thought changes once the Pentathlon actually happens :P

In the meanwhile, I've actually been doing a lot of casual stuff, and hanging out in more streams, which has been nice at least. I finished up 100% in Odyssey, which was a lot of fun. Thought about writing a whole other pastebin about it, but to just sum it up, the game is a lot of fun with a ton of cool things to do, but cleaning up everything for 100% was a bit of a chore. I feel like they could have cut out a lot of the "you groundpounded a spot" moons and had a much more rewarding experience, but honestly that's a small gripe in what is otherwise an amazingly well-designed game, both in mechanics and aesthetics. I bought a Switch pretty much solely for Odyssey right now, and honestly I'd say it was worth it.

After finishing Odyssey, I decided to try out Stardew Valley. I've been watching quite a bit of it lately, and the prospect of the (hopefully) upcoming multiplayer sounded neat, so I figured I'd give it the old college try. I've been enjoying it quite a bit actually. Harvest Moon/Animal Crossing style games never clicked with me, but I think that was due to not really having any set direction. You're still pretty free to do whatever you want, but the quests/community center stuff at least gives me an idea of what I could be working on, which is enough for me. Probably keep playing it offline, but maybe it'll sneak into a stream one day...

Also don't tell anyone but I'm playing through Zelda II again. I don't know why either.

I've got some smaller weeks in terms of days working, but there's gonna be some crazy days happening. I'll try to stream when I have the energy for it, and I've got a couple fun things lined up, including a couple this week. First, on Wednesday, Chuk, Chaide, and I are gonna play the competitive cooperative platformer Ultimate Chicken Horse. Chaide gifted it to me a while ago, and I haven't done anything with him or Chuk in about a billion years, so I'm looking forward to giving it a shot. Then, on Friday, I'll be helping auth kick off authauthon 1 (if that's what he's still calling it idk) with a Mario's Time Machine Money Match. Mario is Missing was quite an experience, so I'm sure this will be just as... well it'll happen. There's also a $25 sub on the line for the winner, just to sweeten the pot.

I think I haven't really kept a lid on the plans for 2018. It's gonna be All-Stars. I'm gonna git gud. Might also work on some of the other things I normally work on idk. Not really gonna make a big deal out of it because that clearly doesn't work for me lol.

One final thing, just to end on a bit of positivity, I've seen a few people lately, both in my real life and online, thinking about or making some big changes in their life. I just wanna say if you're reading this, make sure you take care of yourself, and don't be afraid to do take the steps you need to take to make your life better. You deserve it.
