  1. I checked my spam folder today and saw something that seemed to promise great riches, yet when I opened the email I realized that this unfortunate scammer was proceeding in entirely the wrong manner and was unlikely to receive any return for the work he had invested sending out all the spam. I decided to be helpful and sent said scammer this reply:
  2. "Dear Mr. Symonds,
  3. I am so glad that you wrote to me on this day, which unlike most days, has filled me with a somewhat desperate sense of urgency. I can tell that I will be able to trust in your integrity to help me through this tough time. I'll cut to the chase: I am a high ranking official in the Jindal administration here in Louisiana, and through my hard work and loyal support of our glorious Governor, a sum of approximately 32 Billion dollars ($32,000,000,000) was able to be mis-allocated and was secretly moved to my bank account. You would think that I would be overjoyed, and frankly I was, that these funds that were so needed for the benefit of our destitute citizens would instead go towards my own personal interests. Alas, tragedy looms. A Federal investigation is under way and within a few days my 32 Billion dollars ($32,000,000,000) will be discovered and certainly confiscated. So I appeal most sincerely to you, sir: Help me! If you will allow me to transfer these funds into your personal account they will be beyond the reach of our Federal investigators. I shall still be called to account for the funds, but I will steadfastly maintain that I lost the entirety of the money through a series of bad investments. I am certain then to be convicted of high crimes against the state, but I will be content to go off to the penitentiary secure in the knowledge that when I am released in 9 and 1/2 years I will be able to find you faithfully holding the entirety of these funds, and that you will then be free to release the sums to me minus a small 33% reward I will allow you for your honest and loyal service. I do feel a great sense of relief now, knowing that you will help me.
  4. To proceed, and most urgently, you must provide me with your financial information so that I may initiate a wire transaction into your account. And, as is customary in our country, you must provide me with a $5,000 cash bond (refundable) which allows me to have complete confidence in your good intentions and well mannered behavior. Due to the federal investigation it is best to post the cash bond making use of a currency beyond the reach of the investigators: There is no alternative to Bitcoin in this instance. Reminding you again of the extreme urgency of these proceedings, as soon as $5,000 in Bitcoin is transferred to my wallet address,
  5. 13KYjMMwhwES9dQjRAjNR44uu2SnpK88vg, which will be known only to you and me, in that instant I shall wire 32 Billion dollars ($32,000,000,000) to your account.
  6. In great gratitude, and in complete confidence of your integrity, I remain only a small public servant who must for now be nameless.
  7. May you be greatly blessed this day.
