The steppes of Bantam's Drift provide a welcoming environment for bees, what with an abundance of grassy knolls and flowering plants and balmy, unoppressive weather. It's up here that you'll find Bombus the Beekeeper, with Martin, his loyal shepherd bee, by his side.

While more or less everyone on the Drift thinks fondly of Bombus on account of how sweet the honey his bees produce is, there are few who would say Bombus is rightly their friend. It's sort of the way one might not necessarily say the sun is a friend, but its presence provides a necessary and useful service in any case. Bombus is like the sun in that way, only considerably smaller and less likely to give you sunburn.

The reason for Bombus' reputation is that he's quite, [i]quite[/i] fixated on his job. The care and feeding of bees, hive maintenance and general bee-box upkeep takes up most of his time and thoughts. Those who attempt to engage Bombus in idle chit-chat quickly find that Bombus can steer just about [i]any[/i] conversation back to bees in one way or another.
