- 1. Download Java SDK.
- 2. Download Eclipse.
- 3.1 Download GIT.
- 3.2. In both options giving you bullet choices, select the first option.
- 4. Download Minecraft Forge 1.8.
- 5.1 Go to Windows Start Menu > Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings > Environmental Variables
- 5.2 Under Path, go to the end, add ";" or semi-colon, and add the Java RE to your Path. (should be C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_31\bin\java.exe).
- 6. Go to where you downloaded Minecraft Forge 1.8, and extract/copy and paste into a folder you'll remember.
- 7. Next right click in that window you extracted to (but not on any files/folders in there) and chose "Git Bash here".
- 8. You should get a command prompt window, and in that window type "gradlew setupDevWorkspace". Wait for everything to finish downloading/setting up.
- 9. Finally, type in (after everything has downloaded and setup) "gradlew eclipse" to setup eclipse. It will be our IDE for the session of the tutorial.
