  1. Day 1 & 2: Night and Fangs, the first Case (Warning, Gore)
  2. It was a normal night in London during the year of our Lord 1888 Anno Domini, the smell of heavy smoke mixed with the chilly night fog of the London streets, filling the air and wrapping it in a blanket of acrid smog that choked the nose and lungs.
  3.
  4. Yet despite this people were still milling about, visiting taverns or conducting shady businesses in the cover of night.
  5.
  6. Mary Ann Nichols, also known as Polly, hugged herself to try and gather as much warmth for herself as she could. It was a slow night tonight, nary a man in sight she could seduce and bleed dry of cash.
  7.
  8. Muttering a curse and stifling a cough, she slips into an alley, intent on taking a shortcut towards a hopefully busier part of town.
  9.
  10. The alley known as Buck's row.
  11.
  12. "Damn it," she mutters as she runs her hands up and down her arms, "I thought I would get at least some sucker to seduce, but the damned place is a ghost town. Where have all the fools gone to?"
  13.
  14. As Polly quickly trudges down the alley muttering and cursing to herself, she does not notice the small cloaked figure swaying slowly towards her, waddling left and right as if drunk, until the figure collides with her harshly, knocking both of them over with a yelp and a curse.
  15.
  16. "BLOODY HELL," she snarls as she picks herself up and glares down with disdain at the small and dirty white haired child with green eyes, "You goddamned rat, watch where you're going."
  17.
  18. The tiny figure does not respond to her disdain, merely picking herself up and waddling slowly over to Polly to embrace her legs, muttering softly with her face pressed against Polly's leg "Mommy, Is that you? You're so warm, so warm..."
  19.
  20. At this, Polly lets out a shrill shriek and attempts to dislodge the tiny figure, by punching the child held on to her leg in the head, while yelling abuse as harshly as she could manage,"GODDAMNED STREET RAT, DON'T TOUCH ME. YOU'LL MESS ME UP AND DISGUST A CLIENT, I'M NOT YOUR MOTHER SO GO CRAWL IN THE SEWERS AND DIE".
  21.
  22. Each word was punctuated with her smacking the child to try and force it to let go, each sharp punch or blow to the head accompanied a litany of insults that kept going and going, up until the child falls off with a cry of pain.
  23.
  24. As Polly tries to right herself once more, she quickly notices that the child was scrambling to their feet and to attempt to embrace her once more, and with a sneer kicks the child to the side and scoffs once she finally watches them go still.
  25.
  26. "Good riddance you rat, I hope you die here."
  27.
  28. Quickly she walks past the child to try and exit the alley to reach her destination, never noticing the child begin to shake slowly and raise, head bowed tears flowing slowly down their face.
  29.
  30. "Mommy" the child whispers watching Polly go down the alleyway, their body swaying in place before she staggers, falling over into a crouch.
  31.
  32. "Mommy," the child repeated, raising their head up to look at Polly walking further and further away.
  33.
  34. The child shakes violently, and produces a long and jagged knife from right beneath her cloak and stares longingly at Polly's back.
  35.
  36. Then after a moment, the child pounces.
  37.
  38. With a loud cry of "MOMMY", the child soars impossibly into the air and catches the surprised Polly in an embrace once more.
  39.
  40. Only this time, the knife digs into the surprised prostitute's chest with a sickening squelch.
  41.
  42. "What the hell?!" Polly yells, but is promptly cut off with her own scream as the child rips out the knife from her chest and brings it down and down again towards her defenseless body, with a fascinated mutter of "Warm... so warm...".
  43.
  44. Each stab was pure agony, like liquid fire poured all over her body.
  45.
  46. It hurt so much that she wanted to die, it hurt so much that she couldn't fight back.
  47.
  48. And as she felt the child shift above her and bring the knife down one last time she surrendered to unconsciousness,
  49.
  50. and into the embrace of death.
  51.
  52. And thus, Mary Ann Nichols died.
  53.
  54. On the night of August 30, 1888
