- >It’s dark.
- >You reach around yourself.
- >You’re lying on something soft.
- >Maybe a mattress?
- >Your mind is muddy, thoughts coming and going.
- >You hear a metallic jingle and feel something tight around your throat.
- >You move around and try to stand up.
- >The world wavers and you notice you’re dizzy.
- >Everything is still black.
- >You feel your eyes being open and you look around.
- >There’s truly no light.
- >True darkness.
- >As your mind slowly clears, you try to touch the thing around your throat.
- >A collar.
- >A freaking collar!
- >A heavy metal chain is attached at its back, by your neck.
- >It jingles when you move.
- >You feel around with your hands.
- >Your lying on what’s basically a large mattress.
- >Very soft and comfortable, actually.
- >Suddenly you hear something distant skittering across a hard floor.
- >You tense up before you notice that it’s moving away from you.
- >And within a brief moment it’s gone.
- >But you’re still stricken with an unpleasant sense of horror.
- >You have no idea where you are and how you got there.
- >You have no clue about what your surroundings are like.
- >You could be in a small room or a vast, open cave.
- >And you’re apparently not alone.
- >Your senses become hyper-active as you instinctively try to figure out what sort of place you’re in.
- >It’s no use, of course, as all you can sense is darkness and silence.
- >The jingle of your chain is uncomfortably loud in the noiseless environment.
- >You lie down in your pleasant spot and decide to wait.
- >There’s not much else you can do.
- >And, who knows, maybe it’s night and in a few hours some sunlight will seep into this dark place.
- >Then you hear the clopping of hooves.
- >A calm trot.
- >It’s distant and muddled, though.
- >But getting louder.
- >Getting closer.
- >You sit up, preparing for whatever’s about to come.
- >A door creaks open.
- >Just ahead, and the clopping becomes WAY louder.
- >You’re in a room and the pony in question just entered it.
- >Your heart beats faster as you have no idea if this pony is friendly or hostile.
- >But, no, a pony…?
- >You remember…
- >A bright green light comes to life.
- >It sits on the tip of a twisted, dark horn.
- >A head draped in a heavy, loose mane looks at you with large predatory eyes.
- >Draped in the thick shadows created by the sole light-source, Chrysalis looks more intimidating than ever.
- >Oh shit.
- >Diarrhea-level shit.
- >”Finally awake!”
- >Her joyful grin fills you with horror.
- >You’re her prisoner!
- >”I was worried I had used a too strong spell. The last time you woke up much earlier than expected, after all.”
- >She sends the light upwards, where it hits a ceiling and attaches itself like a magical lamp.
- >The glow turns soft and illuminates the room properly.
- >A quick glimpse around confirms that you’re in a bedchamber with a single door and a large bed.
- >And you’re situated in its corner.
- >”Feeling curious? I suppose you would.”
- >She trots closer, looking as happy as ever.
- >In that typical wolfish manner, as if what makes her happy sure as hell wouldn’t please anyone else.
- >You worry that this is indeed the case.
- >As she approaches, you crawl backwards.
- >But only to bump against the wall.
- >She laughs.
- >”Oh, don’t worry. The tables have turned, but I don’t squander my property.”
- >She gives you an absolutely-not-reassuring smile.
- >And then narrows her eyes and displays a malicious grin, baring those scary fangs of hers.
- >”Still, the tables have turned.”
- >Fucking motherfucker!
- >Why the hell did she take you with her?!
- >Is she going to eat you or something?
- >Or is this just a “fun” game of hers?
- >Goddamn sociopath.
- >She turns around and slowly walks away from you, looking around as if lost in thought.
- >”But, really, what should I do with you? Seeing as your now my personal thing to do with as I please…”
- >A hoof comes up and taps her chin.
- >”Decisions, decisions…”
- >Oh for crying out loud…
- >You’d have made a smart-ass remark at this point.
- >Her sarcasm is beyond obvious.
- >But the situation kills your usual attitude.
- >Her head turns and she looks at you.
- >… She’s not noticing that too, is she?
- >”You’re not uncomfortable, are you?”
- >You man up and try to be daring.
- ”Extremely.”
- >Her grin returns.
- >You fucking hate that grin now.
- >”Well, that’s a shame.”
- >Turning around again, she walks over to you.
- >You already sit against the hard wall and can’t back away any further.
- >She leans her head down and brings her face very, VERY close to yours.
- >She locks eyes with you, and you can’t make yourself look away.
- >Her emerald, slitted eyes practically try to eat your soul.
- >”Because you’re mine now.”
- >Her voice is pretty much a sharp whisper and you can feel her breath against your face.
- >In a calmer corner of your mind, you note that it smells so-so.
- >She backs away, looking perfectly pleased.
- >”And the things I could do with an ape…”
- >Oh no…
- >What WOULD she do with you?
- >You can barely imagine it, but it still gives you a dreadful feeling.
- >She suddenly giggles.
- >”Don’t be so frightened! I’ll take very good care of you, don’t worry.”
- >She winks with a large, green eye.
- >You know better than taking those words seriously.
- >Then again, she’s not exactly trying to comfort you.
- >”Now, I’ll go get you a little something. I’m sure sleeping under all that magic has taken a toll on you.”
- >She walks over to the door, opens it magically, and exits while closing it behind her.
- >Actually, now that you try to think about it, you’re kind of hungry.
- >And thirsty.
- >And strangely tired.
- >Odd. Didn’t you sleep?
- >Well, she did say something about “magic” and the spell being strong.
- >Whatever. Not like you have any real understanding of that stuff.
- >You have swiftly been left alone, but thankfully the light still hangs in the ceiling.
- >It’s nice to be able to see.
- >Getting a break from your captor, you look around.
- >The room is fairly large, and littered with things you could expect from a grand bedchamber.
- >A large bed covered with dark red sheets.
- >A fireplace, although no fire in it currently.
- >Big wardrobe.
- >And so on.
- >The stones that made up the naked walls and bared floor (it was only partially covered by a round, ornate carpet) was a rather dark grey.
- >It gave the place a somewhat chilly atmosphere.
- >That, and the fireless fireplace.
- >Your feel with your hand around your neck.
- >The collar’s still there.
- >Strong leather with no tangible lock or whatever.
- >Probably attached with magic, then.
- >Thank goodness it’s not metal, though. That shit would’ve dug its way into your skin with time.
- >Pulling at the chain, you see that it’s lodged safely into the wall behind you.
- >No surprise there.
- >It‘s likely long enough to allow you to stand up, but there’s no way in hell you’ll be wandering around in the room.
- >If this is how you’re hereby spending the rest of your days…
- >Damn.
- >This sucks.
- >At least you’re still dressed, although you’re shoes are gone.
- >Then again, you took those off yourself.
- >Actually, you don’t want to think too much about the future.
- >You sincerely hope the Princesses or Twilight & Co. are looking for you.
- >You have no idea how much time has passed, and it bothers you a little.
- >But being in Chrysalis’… hooves bothers you tremendously.
- >She was a fun conversationalist in the dungeon, but goddammit if she didn’t try to be sly with you.
- >And for all her humour and joking around, some of it had also seemed like serious, sinister statements.
- >She has a sense of humour and is capable of enjoying herself in peaceful ways, but…
- >There is still that underlying sense of something vile.
- >And if the brief chat you just had with her is anything to go by…
- >You manage to hear a few hoofsteps before the door is flung open in a green glow of magic.
- >Chrysalis steps in with a tray of something hovering besides her.
- >Hey eyes immediately land on you, and she shows you a big, haunting smile.
- >”Why hello, my dear pet! I brought you something tasty.”
- >You shiver internally at ‘tasty’.
- >But you can’t deny that you’re actually kind of hungry.
- >Does she know what humans eat?
- >Or apes, at least?
- >She seems to know something about apes.
- >The tray comes down in front of you.
- >A big collection of fruits and vegetables.
- >Apples, oranges, carrots, you name it.
- >And on top of the pile: A banana.
- >… Yeah, you can see the implied joke here.
- >You look up at her.
- >She’s smiling at you.
- >In a self-satisfied manner.
- >You’ll admit that you’re still a little impressed she’s not tying to feed you grass and flowers.
- >But you don’t comment on the banana.
- >So, apparently she doesn’t want to kill you.
- >That’s a relief.
- >There are, of course, things worse than deat- You really shouldn’t be thinking about that right now!
- >She just gave you food and didn’t strap you to a torture device.
- >Only worry about pain and agony when it actually happens!
- >But you don’t exactly trust her.
- >You can’t make yourself.
- >She freaks you out now.
- >You silently reach for the banana.
- >Her eyes follow your hand.
- >Does she really have to stand there and watch you?
- >You slowly peel the fruit.
- >You feel your hunger clearly enough, but her constant stare kind of ruins the meal.
- >Your maniacal captor’s stare.
- >Fuck it. You shove the damn thing into your mouth and chew.
- >Stare or not, you want sustenance.
- >You look up at her as you chew.
- >Feels a bit like your stern expression might convey defiance, although you mostly just want to see what she wants to do now.
- >She just smiles back at you, as if there’s nothing wrong with anything.
- >”Well, good to see that you can eat. Now I suggest you rest.”
- >She walks over to the door again, before looking up towards the ceiling.
- >Towards the little light, you notice.
- >Her horn flashes once and everything turns black.
- >In the pure darkness, her voice practically haunts you.
- >”You could use it, I’m sure. And I don’t want to drag a limb body around tomorrow.”
- >You hear her hooves take a few steps across the floor before the door shuts loudly.
