Try feed a bland, rice-based diet (cooked white rice and cooked chicken breast 3:1) or Hill’s I/D tin food (intestinal diet), available at your vet.
It is best is to start off by offering lukewarm small quantities of food 4x during the day, and when eating well then increase the quantities and feed 3x the next day, and then 2x the following day. Please feed bland food only for 3 days, before reintroducing your pet's normal food gradually.
Access to clean water is very important. Pets will voluntarily drink liquids when not too nauseous.
If your pet is not voluntarily drinking much, then giving ice blocks often to lick or squirting small amounts of water (10-20ml) frequently into the side of the mouth with a syringe will help them to keep down water easier and reduce dehydration.


If your pet continues to vomit in the next 12hrs, and especially if he / she can't keep water down, then please take your pet to a vet - the soonest appointment available that day, or alternatively go to an emergency vet if no appointments are available."

Sterilization causes very high LH levels ( luteinizing hormone), which is particularly a problem in large and giant breed dogs.

For many owners (and welfare societies) sterilizing is the only feasible option, due to the unwanted behavior / effects of intact dogs (e.g. unwanted litters, female dogs coming into heat), but some owners may be able to cope with their dogs remaining intact and prevent unintended breeding. This is a lot easier in male dogs than in female dogs.
Every pet owner needs to decide on this together with their vet.

If unwanted behavior / effects from leaving dogs intact is to be avoided, then reversible medical sterilization, which does not cause high LH levels, can be done with an injection / implant (Suprelorin). Suprelorin has been registered for use in dogs in many countries in the world for years already; at the moment it is only registered for use in ferrets and mares in U.S. It may become available for use in dogs in the U.S. in the future.
