Meguca 3.3: Suffering

[17:15:17] <Genshuku> THE YEAR IS 20XX, thankfully it doesn't change too often, otherwise I would have lost count.
[17:16:23] <Genshuku> LAST TIME: The megucas, after having met a youma who also happened to subclass as a magicial magnet, bursted all over the place. The death tally has to be counted, but Hotaru is really sporting those ribbons well!
[17:18:20] <Genshuku> At the MOMENT, they are in pursuit of a fiery magical girl that fled the scene (in the same general direction as their (former) teammate)! At least, once they get their heads together.
[17:18:36] <Genshuku> ...They're still kind of working on that? Or maybe this is the moment they do that? Who can tell!
[17:18:42] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Correction - One is in pursuit. The others are just reeling from the magical explosion.

[17:44:54] * %Matsubara_Hotaru is seemingly finally getting more focused despite the mass confusion with her emotions. "Makoto, are you telling me that Yoshihane seriously "nuked" the city? A-Are you sure that wasn't the work of the youma?!" She asked as she is still moving along with Makoto.
[17:47:09] <Kasuga_Makoto> "...I'm sure that's what happened..." Makoto replies, still reeling from the event. It's still fresh in her memory - and painful, too. "Whatever happened to me...didn't help matters." The ground was still littered with those burning symbols and oddities. Still on the move, she couldn't sit around and wonder about this for all that long. She'd have plenty of time to think, later, assuming events like this didn't destro
[17:48:41] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu was feeling... kind of drunk. You know... the sort of drunk on magical power that only an evil master mind would have!.... Kinda. Anyways, she had a girl to chase and information to get. And maybe a new contact in her very short "friends" list.

[17:54:59] <Genshuku> Miyu continues, the other two following behind her! The only reason she hadn't left them behind completely MIGHT be because she drives drunk. Flies drunk. Less dangerous? Maybe. The firegirl seems to slow (according to Miyu, anyway), so...in a few moments, they might catch up, figure out what she hid behind, and maybe talk her into sanity?
[17:57:48] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu is indeed quite tipsy! Almost enough to flirt with that other girl! She was quite interested in other magical girls after all!
[18:01:48] <Genshuku> Then perhaps she won't be found wanting! It turns out the cloth of flame was mostly to cover herself in fire as a deterant, for Miyu quickly spots http://i.imgur.com/7entPmS.jpg --at least for a few moments, for she turns a corner around a building as soon as she's seen. Not that she did it as a reaction, mind you. She's still going!
[18:05:14] <Genshuku> Perhaps the others did as well, but Miyu can easily recognize her as the source of distressed thoughts. The others, well, can't exactly tell what she's thinking with her back turned. Yes, her back. She flies upright, thank you!
[18:06:15] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu chases after the girl! Very enthusiastically!
[18:06:43] * %Matsubara_Hotaru looks back at Makoto with a bit of a sad look. "...I guess all we can do now is pray there isn't too many casualties. ...And what happened to Kitigawa?! I don't think I've seen her in a while..." asked Hotaru.
[18:07:03] * Kasuga_Makoto closes in on Miyu's position. Unlike Miyu, however, she was several flavours of horrified, and at least one sort of concerned. Cornering her the girl might make her seem like an enemy, but she keeps pace with the others, hoping to learn what she could from the other magical girl, in time!
[18:07:51] * Kasuga_Makoto turns back to Hotaru with a shake of her head... "...I don't know where she ran off to. I just hope she wasn't caught up in that destruction, that's all..."

[18:11:45] <Genshuku> With a newfound sense of vigor, Miyu TURNS THE CORNER after them! ...She looks back, and not recognizing the people she's fleeing, quickly assumes them to be something else! She speaks as she continues fleeing! "G-go away! Get away! Don't follow me!" She does her best Smokey the Dragon impression, and leaves fireballs in her wake! ...None of which are actually in your way, and they're too floaty to endanger a building. It's the thought that counts, though!
[18:16:40] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu does a IMMELMAN TURN to evade the fireballs... okay what the heck is that supposed to mean? in any case, Miyu thought it would be a good idea to... just toss a few messages into the distraught girl's head "It's okay. We're not the enemy." Miyu wondered if the girl could distinguish between human, tsukima and youma minds?
[18:18:48] <Genshuku> "Then stop following me, or-or that thing...!" Her reply to the thought in her head is audible, and probably a little weird to hear right after her previous statements...though not at all out of character.
[18:19:24] <Genshuku> It might be prudent for the narration to remind everyone that the thing isn't following them.
[18:22:37] <Miyu_Yoshihane> <We want to help protect you.> Miyu sent towards her. <And become friends!> Miyu was definitely not sane right now.
[18:25:31] <Genshuku> This one-way conversation (according to everyone else) must be more than a little jarring to everyone else. "Y-you can't! That thing...it'll tear you apart! Nothing stands a chance! No one has a chance! I-It just...does what it wants! G-Give up, go home, and forget all this ever happened!" Panic, while still everpresent, gives way to grief. You can her start to try not sobbing, and failing miserably at it!
[18:31:13] <Miyu_Yoshihane> With a spurt of effort, ( along with that slightly addictive rush of magical surge) Miyu's body blurred in the eyes of her companions as she zoomed forward, disappearing from her companions sight as she rushed to catch up, aiming to ... uh... capture? Win the heart of? seduce? all of the above? either way, she was focused!
[18:36:14] <Genshuku> And she zooms! Oh my god, does she zoom. She zooms every single day. For a rev--stop that. She zooms enough to be side by side with her before the zooming gives out. On noticing the girl next to her, the firegirl is startled away about 10 feet to the left, where she then stops to only NOW see if that thing wasn't there anymore. ...And it isn't! "It...it's not...following me? I...thought I felt it, but..." Now that you can get a good look at her, her face is quite definitely that of someone scarred, and it's sort of hard to tell, but she was definitely crying a bit! What is IS doing is trembling, even in flight.
[18:36:37] * %Matsubara_Hotaru is a little confused at the mysterious girl, seemingly talking to no one. She figures that someone perhaps may be telepathically communicating with her? Given the times she had telepathic messages earlier, she feels this isn't out of the question. As soon as she was about to respond to her, Miyu suddenly sped off and it caught Hotaru off guard. "W-What the?! Miyu...? I guess she'll

[18:40:07] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Noticing something wrong with the force around her, Miyu rapidly pulled out her umbrella, slashing it against a nearby wall while she chased the fire girl in preparation for what is to come, forming a reflector in the process. She felt something was wrong, and that the other girl was at risk. No way in hell she was going to let her get killed!

[18:48:39] <Genshuku> The fire girl mostly stopped! ...And no, the building is techncially not a combatant, not even in the loosest sense of the word! You're being needlessly destructive!

[18:52:27] <Genshuku> Pls. ...That said! Realizing (rather, believing herself) to not be in any immediate danger, she seems to somewhat calm, though the nudge sends her about 5 more feet back. She's trying to find words, but completely failing.
[18:53:32] <Genshuku> ...The calm, of course, gives way to suffering (and then words). "...B-but, I...was supposed to protect them..."
[18:54:04] <Kasuga_Makoto2> "...What are you doing? What's the matter with you...?" Makoto's questions might as well be unanswered. She can't read people, after all. Events, but not people. But to the fleeing, traumatized girl, she tries to re-assure her... "...We're not going to hurt you..." She doesn't get tooclose, worying that Miyu might be a little off in the head, again, but she does try and catch her attention. She hangs her head
[18:54:04] <Kasuga_Makoto2>  a little. "...I'm sorry that we couldn't do anything about the others..."
[19:01:58] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu just filled the girl's mind with calming images of bunnies, before raising her hand to stop Kasuga from talking any more, and pushing the girl into the safety of a building. They were to have a guest soon, and a battle weary soul shouldn't be forced to kill her own friends.
[19:02:33] <Genshuku> She notices, then half-turns to Makoto! "...You couldn't! It...it wanted them dead. It said as much." Shiver. "It wanted Kisai and Kijo dead...and Sen...I don't want to know what that thing is doing to Sen..." She doesn't know what that thing is doing to Sen.
[19:03:50] <Miyu_Yoshihane> Miyu didn't think it was a good thing for her to be this distraught, but Miyu still... peered into her mind. Better get the information now, than push the girl into trauma again later by asking her to relive it. Miyu wonders past the 4th wall if this requires a sorcery roll
[19:04:41] <Genshuku> Thankfully, images of bunnies serve as a censor very similar to that of a nice boat for her imagination as she's shuffled away. Yay! Still if Miyu wants to pry any specific details aside from the aftermath of her panic, she'll need a roll!
[19:05:51] <Kasuga_Makoto2> "...I'm sorry. We tried-...Miyu, where are you g-..." It all happened so fast. Miyu seemed to be rather furtive with this broken girl...but she thought for a moment that it might be pertinent to see if their history showed up through her powers.
[19:07:05] <Kasuga_Makoto2> "...I suppose we'll have to ask, once she's...I hate to say it...calmer." She tilted her head to Hotaru with a small, melancholy sigh. "I'll need a moment, as well."

[19:13:46] <Genshuku> Miyu has a decidedly large amount of trouble pulling anything good. She sees a lot of that blob, and of the futile struggle against it. Attacks bounced off, the gel cut them apart like a hot knife through butter, and the poor Priestess couldn't heal enough to stop it. You can tell it was taunting them the whole time, but they must have been hard-headed, so they fought, and died, valiantly...until the two other girls died in a single stroke. Then they tried to get out.
[19:14:24] <Genshuku> It seems the last one might have been in charge of defending? But it seems she didn't get in the way as much as you'd expect...

[19:17:24] * Kasuga_Makoto2 4th wall willing, Makoto attempts to see what might happen, should this girl join them. Or, perhaps, a little more pertinently, what might befall the group, regardless. Foresight on the next threat, or wether the girl's former friend might show up on the other side...
[19:17:44] <Miyu> Well that seems like all she could get out of her. Now to get her out of trouble, Miyu thought as she eased the girl into a building. <I'll find you later, just go find somewhere nearby to rest up.>
[19:18:22] * Kasuga_Makoto2 attempts to trace a link from the new girl to the others, trying to secure as clear a vision as she could muster...
[19:21:50] <Genshuku> To the future, Makoto tries to see...would what she see be relevent? ...Perhaps, for her vision-o-meter is awfully close to right now. She can see it now, very clearly, a large suit of unnatural armor flying, and doing combat with the party. She can feel that it's on a mission. A mission that most definitely involves this girl. It's not hard to understand what that mission might be! She watches this long enough to see the visor glow red, and the suit glow with a dark aura...you exit the vision understanding that things get worse when that happens.
[19:22:09] <Genshuku> Perhaps related, is the loud crash she hears in the distance immediately after exiting!

[19:26:08] * Kasuga_Makoto2 pulls herself back to the present, taking a moment to pull together to details of the vision into her conscious mind. A suit of armour. It's chasing the new girl. And the youma from earlier had mentioned the other magical girl's companion...-
[19:28:19] <Kasuga_Makoto2> "...M-Matsubara, you'd better have something planned. Right now. The girl was right..." she added, trying to catch her breath. Scrying was hard work, if it worked at all... "Something's coming, and I'm...sure that it's hostile. It's a suit of armour."
[19:29:12] <Kasuga_Makoto2> "...I can't be sure of it...but I know that we shouldn't stay around here much longer."
[19:29:15] <Genshuku> The girl, of course, had complied, and is currently trying to shut the entire world out for a while so she can cope! And...another crash!

[19:32:41] <Genshuku> On the horizon, you see the debris of a building fly up, before falling.. Well, that answers where the crashing is coming from.
[19:33:32] <Genshuku> This begins to occur every few moments, and you can swear it gets closer. Damn, the collateral damage.
[19:35:34] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> "I...Is that..." she gave a short but interupted reply. "We have to go now, Makoto!" She said in a panic as she grabs her arm and starts fleeing away from danger!
[19:42:07] * Kasuga_Makoto2 isn't in any argument about that! She doesn't want to leave Miyu or the other girl behind, and yet...it seemed all they could do was run away from danger. More of a tactical retreat, in this case... "...Matsubara, are you sure about this...the others...-" But it was getting closer. SOmething awful was bound to happen if it caught up... "They should catch up to us..."
[19:43:19] <Genshuku> You can tell it gets closer by every piece of building that flies up!
[19:47:31] <Miyu> Now that's something even the MEDIA would notice. Shit is going to hit the fan. Miyu knows this
[19:50:04] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> "Y-you're right. I guess I had a fit of a panic, but... maybe Miyu knows what to do?!" she asked completely unsure.
[19:50:36] <Genshuku> The media has noticed destroyed buildings quite regularly!
[19:50:53] <Genshuku> ...Just an issue with the building's structrual integrity!
[19:51:04] <Genshuku> All of them.
[19:51:06] <Genshuku> And then people change to a new channel!
[19:51:22] <Genshuku> That's a sight that anyone with a TV sees kind of regularly.
[19:54:40] <Miyu> Steeling her nerves, Miyu began  in the direction of the exploding buildings, parrying various chunks of the building with her weapon as she flew towards the source of destruction, while making it very clear to her teammates that it was her intention to engage and delay.
[19:56:48] <Genshuku> Oh, some of them are even reaching them now, huh? Those parts fly pretty far...and the direction this thing is headed is made all too clear. Would the other two follow towards the destructive force, instead of away as previously thought about?

[20:18:22] * Kasuga_Makoto2 naturally, hurries along, no time to waste! Much like their earlier escape, she's aiming to get the girl out, and get as far as possible! It's really all she can do, at this point!
[20:18:25] <Genshuku> Miyu...is in a dangerous position! Not only is she going alone, they're stealing away her waifu--I mean, she's going alone! Still, it's not hard to end up in the building, where you see the firegirl curled up in the corner, still trying to forget.
[20:21:19] * %Matsubara_Hotaru eventually spots the girl curled up in the building, she goes toward there and call out. "Hey! We have got to get you out of here now. Our friend is slowing whatever is coming after you to buy us time to escape."
[20:22:54] <Genshuku> She snaps out of it! "I-I thought that thing wasn't coming after me! You guys said...!" She seems mistrustful. You should probably elaborate!
[20:25:27] <&Miu2> Miyu, with all her force, swings her umbrella, aiming to send back one of the pieces of rubble back at the opponent while infusing it with enough magic power to let it explode on contact!
[20:25:30] <Kasuga_Makoto2> "...It seems I might've been wrong to assume..." Makoto remarks. "I'm sorry, but you have to follow us, right now." She fumbles for her words, extending a hand... "Right after you were left here, I saw something coming...that it was /going/ to show up, and if you stay here, it's going to find you."
[20:27:39] <Genshuku> "But...it wasn't following me...how did it still...right, I guess I still need to keep moving anyway, huh?" She understands that she has to survive either way, and gets up on her own legs, shakily! Then she floats! "If you can try losing it, go right ahead!"
[20:34:02] <Kasuga_Makoto2> "That's the plan, in theory. Now, come on, let's get out of here, while we still can..." Makoto attempts to tap into her magical aspect with her sorcery. Hopefully, the girl should be obfuscated for the time being. Or at least protected from the enemy's detection... "I hope I can throw it off the scent, somehow..."
[20:35:00] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> "Right, let's go right now. Hopefully, Miyu will catch up!" she said as she nodded. She beckons them to follow along then starts flying off, away from danger.
[20:35:38] <Genshuku> The firegirl, who still hasn't given her name, follows! They begin their escape from danger...
[20:35:53] * Kasuga_Makoto2 keeps up with Hotaru, using her light powers to try and propel herself a little quicker! But will it be far enough?
[20:41:59] <Genshuku> ...And, after a few minutes of flying, it becomes clear! It seems like nothing is able to follow them!

[21:07:01] <Kasuga_Makoto2> "...It just doesn't feel right, leaving that girl to hold off the threat, by herself..." Makoto stil fleeing, but occasionally looks back to see if the erstwhile quiet mindreader has a chance of getting out...  "Where else can we go, at this point...?"
[21:09:15] <Genshuku> "Further away!" She seems quite earnest in the idea of getting as far away from the thing that had threatened her as possible...but then realizes something. "...Wait, you all left her there? That...thing wouldn't have been slown by just one person..."
[21:13:26] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> "She just straight up decided to distract the thing. It's amazing she can pull that off. I still pray for her safety though..."
[21:15:48] <Genshuku> "...I suppose it liked to talk...but then, she'll suffer the same fate as Sen..." She doesn't like that, as judged by the tone of her voice...
[21:16:19] <Genshuku> "If you hadn't shown up...then she'd be..." Aaaaand she's tearing up!

And their escape from her berserk episode... "But while clever, I'm not sure I could handle just leaving her to an uncertain death."
[21:51:16] <Kasuga_Makoto2> "...I don't know what we could do to stop something of that magnitude of power, but at the same time, I don't want you to die in vain, either." She hung her head and looked back to where they'd fled. "Do you think we can bring her out of the battle, some other way?"
[21:53:11] <Genshuku> "N-no, definitely not. That thing was way more strong than a normal youma. Leagues! Like, I guess we stuck around cause we thought we could handle it, it was just a weird blob, r-right? Then it..." You didn't see that blob in your vision at all.
[21:53:46] <Genshuku> "...If I had a power for moving people around, I would have used it to escape, so..." No help from her, it seems!
[21:54:01] <%Matsubara_Hotaru> "...I...I don't know. If we go back there, then her distraction becomes all of a waste and make her possible death in vain. And we could easily put ourselves into grave danger too. We can only pray for Miyu's safety at this point..."
[21:54:31] * Kasuga_Makoto2 shakes her head... "That's not what I mean...that blob-thin has since got away, once we left. There's something /else/ on the way."
[21:55:30] <Kasuga_Makoto2> "...The youma that Miyu's fighting was a suit of armour, crashing around through the city. It seemed to be after you. But...Miyu was able to tunnel straight through a giant youma, all on her own."

There might still be time, but we have to hurry!"

[00:17:09] <Miyu> With that Miyu prepared to strike first, hard and fast. For her opponent was probably focused on the girl she had left behind. Time to make herself a target.
[00:18:23] <Genshuku> As it got closer, the reasoning of the debris was clear, something was obliterating the top halves of buildings as it advanced. A suit of armor, as was said, and one that clearly did not waste time. The buildings did not so much as slow it down, such was their fragile, mundane construction. A slash of the sword, and a bash of the shield, and anything that would stand in the way is gone.
[00:18:47] <Genshuku> While it advanced in her direction, it did not seem to recognize her presence.

[00:23:10] <Miyu> Miyu lashes out with a strange posture, as she first moves to seal her opponent's movement!

[00:27:06] <Genshuku> She gets...right on that! A wave of thoughts...freezes? No, it only slows the knight down...however, it is not blind to what is slowing it, and it begins looking AT you.
[00:27:32] <Miyu>  Well, at least Miyu got /something/ right. Unlike her choice of teammates. The freaking cowards.
[00:33:09] <Genshuku> ...And as it looks at you, you see the world around you shine. ...It seems it really has noticed you!
[00:41:01] <Miyu> Miyu slowly edges forward towards her opponent, her eyes fixed upon it's appearance and her own mind invaded by the thoughts of her opponent.
[00:43:08] <Genshuku> Even as the being's mind is assaulted, it does not pause. It merely advances. Miyu's mind is assaulted by...a history of violence. A history of violence that lasts as long as civilization itself!

[00:46:08] <Miyu> Well, that's nice. Miyu thought as she raised her umbrella before pointing the tip at her opponent. A small pulse of light gathered at the tip, before a large projectile burst from the end, flying unerringly towards the opponent.
[00:52:10] <Miyu> Her attack had missed, and Miyu took a conservative step back. In this high? tension battle, Miyu couldn't afford a single mistake.
[00:56:00] <Genshuku> She certainly can't! The giant suit lumbered ever forward...from this distance, Miyu can recognize the shielding over the area as something similar to the walls of the fight against the golem, and the wall they broke to meet that accursed blob. It's completely fresh and unbattered!
[00:56:11] <Genshuku> ...However, something happens.
[00:56:33] <Genshuku> The visor of the suit glows red, and a dark smoke is emitted from the suit!
[00:57:17] <Genshuku> You feel the tension level rise to a peak! It shakes off the stunning! It seems more agile, and a hell of a lot more dangerous!

[01:05:47] <Miyu> While keeping her eyes on her enemy, Miyu's umbrella began to spin as she attempted to sink the tip into the wall of the nightmare. The time to delay has passed, and it's time to just move out. Fighting a youma in a 1vs1 situation wasn't possible at her level after all, and so she put her effort into it!
[01:06:45] <Genshuku> The barrier is struck! ...Compared to the one they had broken before, though, it showed little signs of damage...or maybe that's because her aim was off. WELP.
[01:07:21] <Genshuku> The knight in mostly just armor moves forward, shooting dark orbs as it advances!
[01:14:00] <Miyu> With a small mental chant... a fragile barrier hugged the surface of the reflector that came to life as she hit the wall. That very same barrier helped to mitigate some of the damage of the black balls flying towards her. How utterly disgusting! Still, Miyu wouldn't complain. She asked for this fight, and now she's paying for it.
[01:15:05] <Genshuku> As the orbs strike, her vision is blinded for but a moment by the darkness of the orbs and the brilliance of a shattered barrier!
[01:15:15] <Genshuku> In that moment, she sees the suit of armor, right next to her.
[01:16:11] <Genshuku> And it swings!
[01:23:06] <Miyu> Miyu takes the hit with a grunt. Man she sure wished the other girl was safe, cause she sure isn't. Regrets? Plenty. Want to live? Who wouldn't. want to kill this motherfricking thing? Not possible at the moment.
[01:31:39] <Genshuku> A clean hit! ...After the hit, the red light fades, and the smoke vanishes. Threat levels normalize.
[01:38:11] <Genshuku> Still, that doesn't stop it from getting the third hit in! CRITICAL HIT!
[01:38:30] <Genshuku> ...after the divine assault, you notice it has its own barrier around it. Fuck.
