- The Pentagon and NASA both receive a torrent of cryptographic transmissions from Veda, a quantum-based artificial superintelligence system. It details everything that happened during and after the Roswell incident, and a countdown for an imminent planetwide alien invasion on July 2nd. Scientists from Project BETA, along with Aeolia Schenberg Sumeragi Lee Noriega, personally verify these messages as legitimate, and immediately notify President Thomas Whitmore in a courtesy call.
- February 2nd, 1996.
- Commander Bright Noa speaks at the UN General Assembly, urging all nations to unite and prepare for an oncoming existential threat to the planet, assuring citizens of the world that steps are being undertaken to guarantee safety. Simultaneously, work ramps up on pooling military assets for a possible all-domain assault on Earth. Julius and David Levinson meet young prodigies Kamille Bidan, Kira Yamato and Flit Asuno, who are given an all-access pass to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
- March 2nd, 1996
- Deep within Area 51, Dr. Brackish Okun converses with Banagher Links, Setsuna F. Seiei and an assortment of researchers from different fields who are currently studying the alien craft being housed in the facility. Other Newtypes and Innovators, like Elpeo Ple and Louise Halevy, have volunteered alongside Links and Seiei, much to the boys' refusal. Alomst 50 mobile suits reach final assembly and are being readied for testing. GN and Minovsky particle research is complete.
- April 2nd, 1996.
- Suletta Mercury, her mother Prospera Mercury, Miorine Rembran and Nika Nanaura arrive using [REDACTED] in the '90s armed with a guidebook, contact list, itinerary and a VHS copy of Independence Day. In space, Treize Khushrenada and Zechs Merquise finalize a strategy meeting with leaders of the NATO member states and Boris Yeltsin. Also in attendance: McGillis Fareed, Murrue Ramius, and Berah Ronah, as well as Noa and Noriega, whose ships shall form the military's orbital vanguard.
- May 2nd, 1996.
- Live-fire exercises are being held in both the Empty Quarter and Lagrange Point 3. Images from a recent expedition have tracked the invaders as far as the Oort Cloud and closing fast, which gives impetus for the scientists to hasten research and development. Thank to both Veda and Quiet Zero, communication with the aliens is successful, yet ultimately fruitless: their goal of total annihilation is unchanged. After this, Mikazuki Augus unloads 45 bullets, killing them.

- Final calibrations are made to ZERO System, allowing Heero Yuy to use it freely and frequently in battle without significant mental burden thanks to a unique Veda uplink. Captain Steven Hiller praises the dynamic controls of mobile suits, but finds it unfit for him. Powerful new miniaturized electronics countermeasures and jamming systems have been installed on all ships and fighters.
