Flora: These duties are usually performed by Reynard, the steward who you almost decapitated last week.
Flora: If you’re going to keep assaulting people, the least you can do is do their work for them.

Flora: [frown] They’re people. Better people than you.

Peri: [crying] You mean that whole time, they wanted to fight back but didn’t?! Wh-why can’t they fight back?!
Flora: You’re a Lady. A servant who dared to lay a hand on a noble would be executed, even if it was in self-defence.
Flora: Would you fight back if King Garon tried to kill you?
Peri: [upset] Yes!
Flora: What if you knew that, if you did fight back, he’d have Lord Xander and Laslow killed?
Peri: [upset] No! They can’t die!

Flora: [eyes closed] I thought it might be harder for you to hate servants if you understood what our lives are like.

Flora: [sweat, closed eyes] I considered it. But…  I’m glad I didn’t.

Flora: Because we’re able to talk like this.
Flora: [frown] I found your childishness unbearable, given how brutally you abused those you had power over.
Flora: But talking to you like this now… I think I understand.
Flora: [eyes closed] You’re not a spoilt brat. You’ve been twisted into something horrible.
Flora: And you’ve started to realise it, haven’t you?
Peri: [sad] Whenever I looked at servants, I saw the man who killed my mommy. He was a servant, too.
Peri: I thought about fighting back against him. Making him hurt like he hurt mommy.
Peri: [crying] I didn’t think about how… how mommy couldn’t fight back…
Peri: How those servants I cut couldn’t fight back…
Flora: [eyes closed] This doesn’t have to be the end for you. That horrible ugliness inside – you can fight it.
Flora: [sad] I… know what it’s like.
Flora: I told myself it was for the good of my Tribe, but part of me relished betraying Lord/Lady Avatar. Causing him/her the same pain I’d felt for so long, even though I knew full well it wasn’t his/her fault.
