  50. Belle Williams is a speed demon. Flying through the streets of New York in her tricked-out taxi, she's earned a rep as New York's fastest cabbie. But driving a hack is only a pit stop for her real dream: Belle wants to be a race car champion. And she's well on her way--until she's derailed by overeager cop Andy Washburn, whose undercover skills are matched only by his total ineptitude behind the wheel. Washburn, whose lack of vehicular skills has landed him in the precinct doghouse, is hot on the heels of a gang of beautiful Brazilian bank robbers, led by Vanessa, their cold, calculating--and leggy--leader. To nab the evasive crooks, drivers license-less Washburn convinces Belle to team up with him to pursue Vanessa and crew. Belle has carte blanche to drive at any speed and break any law. The car-less cop and speed-demon cabbie--New York's unlikeliest partners-- begin a high-speed game of cat and mouse with the robbers. That is, if Belle and Washburn don't end up killing each other first.
  51. A mouthy and feisty taxicab driver has hot tips for a green and inept cop set on solving a string of New York City bank robberies committed by a quartet of female Brazilian bank robbers.
  52. The following is the Positive/NEGATIVE REVIEW for...<br/><br/>Taxi...ENJOY<br/><br/>POSTIVES <br/><br/>1)Queen Laifah as a cab driver<br/><br/>2)Ann-Margret on the big screen again<br/><br/>3)The usage of Beyonce Knowles&#39; Crazy in Love as the Film Opener<br/><br/>4)Tim Story&#39;s chase scenes shot selection<br/><br/>5)The laughing gas scene<br/><br/>6)Queen&#39;s dialogue...We need to play to your strengths, and thinking ain&#39;t one of them.<br/><br/>7)The Gisele Bundchen/Jennifer Esposito pat-down scene<br/><br/>NEGATIVES <br/><br/>1)Tim Story&#39;s decision to follow up Barbershop with a second rate comedy such as this<br/><br/>2)The script<br/><br/>3)The pacing<br/><br/>4)Queen Latifah&#39;s usual big mouth, she showed such promise in Chicago, why go ruin it, everything that comes out of her mouth doesn&#39;t have to be screamed<br/><br/>5)Gisele Bundchen and her crew, I understand sex sells but a hint of intelligence never hurts<br/><br/>6)Miscasting Jennifer Esposito as the Lt., kind of parrells itself in regards to Eva Mendes calling the shots in Out of Time
  53. How bad is this movie? Well, it was bad enough for me to register here and plead with my fellow film buffs to give it a miss.<br/><br/>It was bad enough for me to walk out half way through, so I don&#39;t know if it got any better, but I strongly doubt it.<br/><br/>I was unfamiliar with Jimmy Fallon&#39;s work before this monstrosity and I will make a point of avoiding anything associated with him again. What possessed the man to take this role in the first place? The character he plays is the most annoying, stupid, lame ..... I&#39;m raging at just how ridiculous &quot;Wasburn&quot; is. Robert Ben Garant the screenwriter should be made to apologise - I&#39;m serious - THAT&#39;s how bad this bunch of tripe is.<br/><br/>Normally I like to find something good to say so I can balance any reviews I write but I genuinely cannot find anything good to say about this film. Is this really what passes for humour these days?<br/><br/>I could go on for ages about Luc Besson&#39;s version because it is quite simply in a different league, but alas this effort is so appallingly bad that any comparisons would be an insult.<br/><br/>Oh wait!! I can say something good about this movie.<br/><br/>My wife thought it wasn&#39;t too bad!? I&#39;m sooooo incensed at the cheek of the film makers to insult me with this bunch of B**locks that I couldn&#39;t even be bothered to argue with her.<br/><br/>I&#39;m sorry how negative my views are on this, but I am truly insulted.
  54. This witless action comedy begins to insult the audience's intelligence from the opening scene.
