  1. Sister Viktorine And The Red Right Hand:
  2. (A camera clicks on overlooking a desk cluttered with papers, a open bottle of whiskey and a window looking out on the forest and night sky. Obscuring the view is a brown leather chair with its back turned to the camera.)
  3. Connar: Still not sleeping, so I am back, in the last video we covered how I got involved in the war and the letter from Yuri Pikus, so a logical place to pick up would be my trip to Moscow and what I found the soviets working on. I traveled through Agartha to Moscow and found the lab mentioned in the letter, the lab would have been just outside of moscow somewhere in the forest if I remember correctly. Yuri Pikus was a short man with a head of thick black hair and a graying push broom mustache, he was working on "the residual effects of bio energy on localized causality,” the idea that anima having just been in a space can affect the outcome of any event that occurs in it. The soviets knew about Nicodemus connections to the Thule Society and had seen the “special forces” they deployed in poland and Stalin being the paranoid prick he was, decided that he needed his own occult warfare division. Dr. Pikus’s work was intended to predict the movement of these troops without risking any agents, Dr. Pikus however underestimated the power of his work, had the soviets known that you could use my “Laplacian Causality” to predict mundane events as well, the cold war may have turned out differently, than again the soviets never were very imaginative and they never had the patients to properly utilize anima. Dr. Pikus work was not the only project being developed at the unit either, the unit had a collection of on staff magi and witches gathered from across Russia, in order to help the red army develop anima based weapons and tactics, I assisted them in developing several anima based systems, including a pistol that could use anima to accelerate a metal slug to .001c (these would become my current pistols, Justice and Mercy). These projects were part of what was then called unit 911-16, the special technologies laboratory, more commonly known as герой народа, the people's hero. This unit would ultimately be absorbed by the red hand, Dr. Pikus was one of the dragons greatest assets for his entire career (though he never knew it.) I worked for this unit for about a year, helping develop technology and cultivating a list of contacts in the occupied territories, it was through these contacts that I received a letter from a nun in Vienna by the name of Viktorine Zak, she had heard of me through a “mutual friend” and wanted my help in relocating a pair of twins in her care to the safety of a jesuit monastery in switzerland.
  4. Normally I would have sent a new agent to see to this but at the same time we had received intelligence that Third Sunday agents were highly interested in Sister Viktorine’s charges. I figured that if Nicodemius was interested in these kids then he shouldn't have them and with that I left for Vienna. Sister Viktorine looked more or less like you would expect a nun to look, she was an older woman with a grandmotherly feel about her, but like any nun, she knew how to get you to do what she wanted. She greeted me outside the university with a doctor she was working with at the time, a man named Hans Asperger. They introduced me to the twins Edward and Albert Imker, they were both Autistic though to different degrees, Edward was high functioning, while Albert was minimally verbal. Both of them were anima users, their power had awakened around the time they turned 8, and despite their mother's best effort she was not able to hide their power from the Gestapo, which is how they ended up with Sister Viktorine. It appears it was the boys proficiency with anima that drew Third Sundays attention, they had only had their powers for about a year but they were both already masters at using anima. When I first met them, Albert could use it to form a train that moved up and through walls and bring him things he wanted, while Edward had figured out how to use it to transcribe information to any surface that could hold it, he was particularly fond of transforming records into tiny wax cylinders that could be played on a phonograph that could fit in the palm of your hand. When I asked if the boys would have been safer at the hospital (the bombing had not yet touched the universities hospital). Dr. Asperger answered saying that the Gestapo had told him they intended to collect the boys for a “special” research project, best case scenario the boys were going to be euthanized, worst case Nicodemus would have them vivisected before turning them into some kind of monster he could turn loose on the eastern front. Sister Viktorine had written a jesuit monastery in Switzerland that was aligned with the templar and they had agree to hide Edward and Albert (provided I could get them there).
  5. We left the University later that evening, Albert was reluctant to leave Sister Viktorine but decided to follow me when Edward decided to go (Edward didn't care for being confined to the hospital). The monastery was hidden on Mt. Jungfrau about a day's hike from the portal, I thought I had managed to move the twins undetected but apparently, Nicodemus had anticipated that I would intervene and sent a squad to intercept us some lieutenant from the thule society and a couple of ordinary soldiers who had somehow been trained to use anti anima. I drew my sword and tried to draw them away from the kids, but 3 on 1 is hardly a fair fight and I could only deal with the two mutated soldiers, the lieutenant was able to slip away from the fight and found Edward, who attempted to defend himself with a crude anima charge only to have it bounce back off a shield, for daring to raise a hand against an officer of the third reich, Edward was shot in the leg. It was Albert who came to his rescue, while Edward had been trying to protect him, he summoned all the anima he could and formed it into a enormous dragon flank by a swarm of bees. Albert's anima dragon swept down from the sky lighting the surrounding woods on fire and pushing back the two mutated soldier and give me the opening I needed to take both their heads off. The bees that followed the dragon descended on the lieutenant, force themselves down his throat and up his nose, they then burst from his chest and skull and carried his heart and brain off to Agartha. I searched the dead lieutenants body for information and found a note using a templar cyphr that I then pocketed for later analysis. Normally I would have made camp for the night and let the boys rest, but Nicodemus very rarely sends just one squad on any given mission, so I bandaged Edwards wound the best I could, threw him over my shoulder and continued on towards the monastery. On the way up I remember Edward asking his brother what he had done to form the dragon. Albert apparently had misinterpreted the question because he replied “Big brothers protect little brothers, be a good boy Albert, look after Edward, I love you both,” I can't be sure who said those words to Albert, but I would wager it was probably one of the last things their mother said to them. The words seem to have rattled Edward pretty badly though as neither of them spoke for the remainder of the journey.
  6. When We arrived at the monastery, the monks were kind enough to decipher the note I had taken off the lieutenant. It was a order from Nicodemus himself, it said that the boys were to be taken to a camp in poland that was currently under construction for a unnamed research project. The note implied that he knew where the camp was so directions were not included, it did however mention another point of contact in poland and as fate would have it, it was near the border with the Soviets….I think thats enough for tonight, the next log will cover Stalingrad, the campaign in the east, Sobibór and the battle in Berlin.
