  2. 13:13 F5KFuji Qualifying was an exciting 20 minute session, with Scott McLaughlin taking his first pole of the year from BRM's Jordan Lloyd

  4. 13:13 F5KFuji And we're away!
  5. 13:14 F5KFuji It's an even run into turn 1 but McLaughlin stays ahead
  6. 13:14 F5KFuji BIG CRASH!
  7. 13:15 F5KFuji Adelaide Voeckler has locked the brakes into turn one, and careens into the back of Sandy Stuvik's Toyota
  8. 13:15 F5KFuji Both drivers are okay but those are two heavily damaged racecars for their teams to deal with
  9. 13:16 F5KFuji Scott Pye has made an incredible start from the bottom end of the top 10 to find himself third
  10. 13:16 F5KFuji As the two Prodrive cars and Charles Leong squabble over fourth place
  11. 13:17 F5KFuji Mitch Evans has already climbed up from his starting position of 11th to be 6th at the end of lap 1

  44. 13:24 F5KFuji The Super Formula regular is running a one-off B-Max entry here this weekend
  45. 13:25 F5KFuji And he's currently running 12th embroiled in a battle with Lee Holdsworth and Aaren Russell
  46. 13:25 F5KFuji The pit window is now open
  47. 13:25 F5KFuji With Andre Heimgartner the first to take advantage

  49. 13:26 F5KFuji McLaughlin has a five second lead up front, but Evans is eating into the gap at a vast rate of knots

  57. 13:28 F5KFuji As we now cut to the fight for 4th between Robertson and Belcher
  58. 13:28 F5KFuji Holdsworth comes in for his stop
  59. 13:28 F5KFuji As does Quinn and Simpson
  60. 13:29 F5KFuji Stanaway is now comfortably the fastest car on track
  61. 13:29 F5KFuji As he looks to make the undercut work on Lloyd for third position
  62. 13:30 F5KFuji He has some clear air before he gets to Pye ahead of him
  63. 13:30 F5KFuji Aaren Russell in the Plus Fitness car has had a quiet weekend so far
  64. 13:30 F5KFuji But he's currently running in 7th place as the pitstops cycle through
  65. 13:30 F5KFuji Next up for him would be Charles Leong
  66. 13:31 F5KFuji Belcher and Premat come in for their stops
  67. 13:31 F5KFuji And we see the Triple Eight crew getting another set of tyres ready
  68. 13:31 F5KFuji Leketus are not reacting at the moment
  69. 13:31 F5KFuji And Evans comes in from second place, having cut the gap down to two and a half seconds
  70. 13:32 F5KFuji He rejoins in 6th behind Russell
  71. 13:32 F5KFuji Oh boy
  72. 13:33 F5KFuji Holdsworth, Watson and Premat attempt three wide into turn 1
  73. 13:33 F5KFuji With predictable results
  74. 13:33 F5KFuji Premat goes for a trip down the runoff area and Watson goes for a quick spin

  78. 13:34 F5KFuji And he comes out ahead!
  79. 13:34 F5KFuji Robertson leads but is yet to stop
  80. 13:34 F5KFuji The battle for the effective lead is down to 1.3 seconds
  81. 13:35 F5KFuji Stanaway is up to an effective third ahead of Heimgartner, who's currently 10th on the road
  82. 13:35 F5KFuji But has made the undercut work for him
  83. 13:35 F5KFuji Robertson now has both McLaughlin and Evans behind him
  84. 13:35 F5KFuji Who are both desperate to get past and resume their battle
  85. 13:36 F5KFuji Scotty Mac clears the Horan car with ease
  86. 13:36 F5KFuji But Evans is now being held up by him
  87. 13:36 F5KFuji Stanaway is looking to put Rogers away behind them
  88. 13:36 F5KFuji And does so into turn 5
  89. 13:37 F5KFuji Simpson meanwhile has slowly climbed his way up to 13th
  90. 13:37 F5KFuji And looks to gain another spot at the expense of Takaboshi
  91. 13:38 F5KFuji Aaren Russell steams past Rogers to take 5th
  92. 13:38 F5KFuji While Lloyd overtakes Pye with extreme prejudice and commences his pursuit of Heimgartner
  93. 13:39 F5KFuji The order on lap 14 of 22 is McLaughlin, Evans, Robertson and Stanaway
  94. 13:39 F5KFuji As Russell and Rogers pit from 5th and 6th
  95. 13:39 F5KFuji Lloyd is making the fresher tyres work for him
  96. 13:40 F5KFuji Taking another spot from Heimgartner
  97. 13:40 F5KFuji As we now cut to Premat squabbling for position with some midfielder plebs
  98. 13:41 F5KFuji Belcher is looking to line up Heimgartner for a pass
  99. 13:41 F5KFuji He has a look into turn 1
  100. 13:41 F5KFuji And moves up into 6th position
  101. 13:41 F5KFuji And here we go!
  102. 13:41 F5KFuji It's on between McLaughlin and Evans for the lead!
  103. 13:41 F5KFuji Evans has a look into turn 8 but Scotty Mac covers
  104. 13:42 F5KFuji Rogers and Premat come together at the back of the field in the meantime
  105. 13:42 F5KFuji Evans has a tow down the front straight
  106. 13:43 F5KFuji And he gets the move done before turn 1!
  107. 13:43 F5KFuji Robertson pits from P3
  108. 13:43 F5KFuji As does Pye from 8th, completing the pitstop cycle
  109. 13:43 F5KFuji McLaughlin fancies a counter-attack on Evans
  110. 13:43 F5KFuji Whose tyres are ever-so-slightly older
  111. 13:44 F5KFuji He doesn't get good enough drive out of the final corner this time around
  112. 13:45 F5KFuji As Premat goes for another field trip down at turn 8
  113. 13:45 F5KFuji Evans is strugglinf massivly around turn 4
  114. 13:45 F5KFuji And McLaughlin is much closer this time down the back straight
  115. 13:46 F5KFuji Evans has massive understeer, but he's still getting drive where it matters
  116. 13:46 F5KFuji With 5 laps to go, we also have a massive battle for 3rd between Stanaway and Lloyd
  117. 13:47 F5KFuji Lloyd gets the spot down the front straight
  118. 13:47 F5KFuji But Stanaway steals it right back with a late bomb into turn 1
  119. 13:47 F5KFuji And there is now a huge train of cars behind Heimgartner consisting of Simpson, Holdsworth, Robertson and Takaboshi
  120. 13:48 F5KFuji STANAWAY!
  121. 13:49 F5KFuji He runs out of road at turn 1, and falls to 5th position!
  122. 13:49 F5KFuji Simpson takes on Heimgartner as wins
  123. 13:49 F5KFuji ROBERTSON!
  124. 13:49 F5KFuji WHAT A MOVE!
  125. 13:49 F5KFuji AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF HOLDSWORTH AT TURN 4!
  126. 13:49 F5KFuji And now he wants SimpsoN!
  127. 13:49 F5KFuji This is awesome stuff in the closing stages of race 1 in Fuji!
  128. 13:50 F5KFuji Some of the ARWS fraternity are watching on from the pitwall, and they're really getting into it now
  129. 13:50 F5KFuji None more passionately than the Simpson team, whose team owner is here racing Robertson
  130. 13:50 F5KFuji They go side by side down the front straight
  131. 13:50 F5KFuji And through goes Robertson into 6th
  132. 13:51 F5KFuji They're both rapidly closing in on Stanaway with three to go
  133. 13:51 F5KFuji As we now have Aaren Russel fancying a crack at Takaboshi for the final top 10 spot
  134. 13:52 F5KFuji Robertson is on fire
  135. 13:52 F5KFuji He takes another spot from Stanaway!
  136. 13:52 F5KFuji As Russell successfully rounds up Takaboshi for 10th
  137. 13:52 F5KFuji Heimgartner is holding onto 8th for dear life at the moment
  138. 13:53 F5KFuji He's had Holdsworth probing and prodding for several laps now to no avail
  139. 13:53 F5KFuji McLaughlin and Evans are on the final lap
  140. 13:53 F5KFuji As we now have the interesting situation of Lloyd being caught by Belcher
  141. 13:53 F5KFuji And Robertson catching the pair of them for the final podium position
  142. 13:54 F5KFuji Russell is kicking ass and taking names
  143. 13:54 F5KFuji He adds Holdsworth to his list of victims
  144. 13:54 F5KFuji Third through fifth are nose to tail onto the back straight
  145. 13:54 F5KFuji Lloyd defends!
  146. 13:54 F5KFuji As Mitch Evans crosses the finish line to WIN IN FUJI!
  147. 13:55 F5KFuji Scott McLaughlin finishes in second
  148. 13:55 F5KFuji But all eyes are on who'll take third
  149. 13:55 F5KFuji Belcher has a tow
  150. 13:55 F5KFuji But Lloyd just holds onto third!
  151. 13:56 F5KFuji Seamus Belcher claims fourth ahead of Michael Robertson
  152. 13:56 F5KFuji With the two Prodrive cars coming home sixth and sevent
  153. 13:56 F5KFuji Aaren Russell overtook Andre Heimgartner on the final lap to claim eighth
  154. 13:56 F5KFuji And Scott Pye won a drag race with Lee Holdsworth to steal 10th right at the death
  155. 13:57 F5KFuji The ARWS personnel that were able to watch the race applaud the action from the pit wall
  156. 13:57 F5KFuji As we have the PES guys getting ready for their final warmup session this evening before their 1000km race on Saturday afternoon
  157. 13:58 F5KFuji Join us again on Saturday morning beforehand however to catch the second F5K race before ARWS qualifying
