  1. >It's been five years since the world went to shit.
  2. >Ever since the portal near CHS opened, the world fell flat on it's face.
  3. >Normally, from what you remember Twilight telling you, the portal was opened near a friendly area of the magical world known as "Equestria".
  4. >Instead, someone hotwired the portal to open in Tartarus, where they keep the most powerful bad boys that are too dangerous to roam freely.
  5. >Warlords, demons, spirits of evil kings and queens, sorcerers, giant demonic centaurs - You name it, everything came swarming out to Earth.
  6. >With them, they bought a new type of energy to this world, whilst the scientific term for it wasn't so interesting, everyone just ended up calling it magic, since all the things you could pull off with it, were literally feats of magic.
  7. >Monsters ended up tearing the world up, and guns, explosives and even nuclear bombs wouldn't work on them.
  8. >Fortunately, a few girls from your old school, who had some knowledge on magic, ended up helping the world's militaries and Governments produce new weapons and means to combat these new monsters.
  9. >Melee weapons, new types of Firearms using new types of ammunitions run on magic and teaching Humanity how to wield this new force of Magic, giving people different powers.
  10. >It helped, at first.
  11. >Then people realized that they all had different affinities with magic.
  12. >The world went to shit.
  13. >Combining the monsters, the new weapons and magic literally destroying the world, anarchy rose, Governments, militaries, borders.
  14. >All destroyed.
  15. >The world changed for the worse.
  16. >Eventually, people started building up their own cities and towns, with their own militias.
  17. >But outside of the walls? Shit's gone nuclear.
  18. >You've got bandits, mages and even some things that look straight out of the Necronomicon.
  19. >Don't even get started on the Demons here, half of them were just humans that ended up selling their souls to other Demons, in exchange for power, only to end up becoming some primal beast.
  20.
  21. >Others were smarter, and had their own ambitions and goals, albeit them being quite fucked.
  22. >Eventually, armies started developing and it seemed like another war was coming.
  23. >A person known only by the name "Discord" had amassed an army of Monsters and Humans, set on conquering what remained of this world to build up his "new world order".
  24. >Except the way he did it was nowhere near efficient, it was just really brutal, sort of like a Lord of the Rings movie.
  25. >Free cities and settlements were ravaged by the devastation of these blood-thirsty armies.
  26. >Then along came this Super-mage named "Dr. Cordis", or as he liked his students to call him "Starswirl the Bearded".
  27. >Now this guy, he was some kind of magic prodigy, sure he was like fourty and had a massive white beard, and was probably still a virgin, he was known throughout the world as a Liberator and a Hero.
  28. >They say that when the Monsters first came, he used magic to fight them off and kept them from going crazy.
  29. >Sure he didn't do much, seeing as how the world is now, but one guy couldn't do that much.
  30. >But anyway, he came along and started teaching young adults like yourself, how to use magic and how to fight.
  31. >After training you, he sent you out in the world to start fighting Discord's armies and eventually kill the big guy himself.
  32. >You and Starswirl got along pretty well, you weren't the strongest out of the students - That belonged to Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer, those two hot chicks from back in your highschool days.
  33. >But you guys developed that father figure bond, he helped you out a lot.
  34. >Your parents... Your friends...
  35. >Well, it's not really a good idea to look back on the bad stuff that happened, the world's got you covered on negativity.
  36. >But to make a long story short, Starswirl found you, and ended up helping you get back up on your feet, turning you into someone that could actually contribute to the world.
  37.
  38. >After a few months of fighting, and getting new equipment and just generally getting stronger, you're finally here.
  39. >At the entrace of Discord's fortress.
  40. >It took you so long.
  41. >If Starswirl was correct, it was apparantley Discord that opened up the portal to Tartarus in the first place.
  42. >Then technically, he's responsible for everything that's happened.
  43. >Guess maybe it's time for some revenge.
  44.
  45. >So it's finally come to this...
  46. >You feel the wind howling in your face, yet the dead silence of everything else only seems to make it more ambient.
  47. >You begin to wish that you could just stay like this before, savouring the thrill before the fight.
  48. >Just pondering your existence and life in general, no stress, no worries, just here.
  49. >The Euphoria, for lack of a better word.
  50. >You look back to your companions, your friends, your family.
  51. >The wars, the fighting, the shit that's claimed so much.
  52. >And yet you're the one surviving... You.
  53. >The one who didn't deserve to live.
  54. >You should've died when it all started, you weren't strong, or skilled, or even smart.
  55. >Heck, even back at Highschool, you were just average, or mediocre.
  56. >The training just made you into a weapon, to keep others safe.
  57. >In the end, you're nothing but an unknown value... You're Anonymous.
  58.
  59. >Enough pondering for now though, it's time to finish this.
  60. >You push through the Fortress and make your way through.
  61. >It's oddly... Empty.
  62. >This place should've been heavily guarded, but it seems like it's been deserted for a while now.
  63. >A desolate, devastated fortress, is this really where the Discord would hide?
  64. >Maybe it's an illusion.
  65. >But you can't really sense any magic at work here.
  66. >It's probably a trap to get you off-guard.
  67. >You pull out your holstered rifle and keep it in your hands, prepared for any sudden ambushes.
  68. >Making your way to the top floor, where you assume is the throne room is.
  69. >As you walk into the room, the two doors close by themselves.
  70. >Wow, how cliche.
  71. >You look in the distance, to see a relatively short figure, wearing a helmet adorned with a horn and an antler-shaped horn.
  72. >This must be Discord.
  73. >You take a few steps towards him, getting a better view of him.
  74. >As you point your rifle towards him and get ready to fire, he chuckles.
  75. >"Kept me waiting, huh?"
  76. >What?
  77. >This guy murders thousands and just acts like it's casual?
  78. >The fuck is wrong with him.
  79. >He begins to walk towards you, giving you a small round of applause.
  80.
  81. >"I'd like to congratulate you, your journey is nearly complete and I know of the hardships you faced to get here, you must have had a good teacher."
  82. >You're shaking.
  83. >You've fought the biggest, scariest dragons and demons in your life, you've slain countless people and monsters.
  84. >But this guy?
  85. >This guy could've destroyed you in seconds, and yet he's being so friendly.
  86. >This is fucking with your head more than it should.
  87. >"Now, you're probably wondering why I haven't decided to fight you yet..."
  88. >He coughs a few times as he finishes his sentence
  89. >"Thing is... I'm getting old, body isn't what it used to be after all this."
  90. >He clicks his fingers, conjuring up a small table with a pot of tea in the middle.
  91. >"I would be correct in assuming you didn't want to settle our disputes over tea, right?"
  92. >You nod, sighing.
  93. >This guy seems so... Old, and innocent.
  94. >Why couldn't he just be like a typical villain, the classic evil bad guy, so you could kill him with no regrets.
  95. >"I understand, it's a little upsetting, but you weren't really here for that, were you?"
  96. >He begins to pull off his helmet, revealing his face a little.
  97. >His voice changes a little too, why does it sound so familiar.
  98. >"And I must apologize to you too, Anon, this is the last secret I'll keep from you."
  99. >That face... That voice!
  100. >It can't be.
  101. "S-Starswirl?"
  102.
  103. >"In the flesh."
  104. "It can't be, you're all the way in Cant-"
  105. >"Teleportation."
  106. "How do I know you're not tricking me?"
  107. >He pulls out an old picture from his cloak, a picture of you and him, from a few years ago.
  108. >You were much younger and smaller back then, now, after training and going through your ordeals, your body had adapted to the environment and grown a lot.
  109. >You were a lot more muscular, and your face was more masculine in definition and structure.
  110. >You hardly recognize the boy in the picture.
  111. >There is no way anyone would've gotten their hands on that picture.
  112. >It really is him.
  113. "But why?"
  114. >"There's something I should explain to you, all those years ago, when the Demons first starting coming out, no one knew who really did it, not even me."
  115. >"It turned out, because I was still practicing Equestrian magic prior to that, I ended up finding a sword that was posessed by a malevolet entity, who called itself Discord."
  116. >"Discord was a product of Chaos, the avatar of it. He offered me limitless power, but never mentioned the cost."
  117. >He sighs, pulling out another picture from his wallet, of a younger man, resembling Starswirl, along with... Is that your old Principal from CHS?
  118. >And is that girl... No way, that's Sunset?
  119. >"My own family was lost to me, I had to make sacrifices in order to make the right decisions, and I ended up becoming the vessel for Discord."
  120. >"I had armies of Monsters rally to me, and eventually, our personality merged."
  121. "So you ended up becoming the King of Monsters, but tried to save the world by creating heroes."
  122. >"Yes, that's where I realized I still had some control over my body, and after using a lot of magic to suppress my magic power, I managed to overcome Discord's influence."
  123. >"Whilst he still exists in my mind, and I still have some of his intentions within me, for now, I am myself"
  124.
  125. "Why do you still lead the monsters, then?"
  126. >"My boy, these creatures are not natural, they exist to murder, rape and pillage. To conquer and dominate all. If left untamed, they would've destroyed our world long ago."
  127. >"There must always be a Monster king, to keep them in control, at least to some extent."
  128. "Let me help you, we can manage this togeth-"
  129. >"No, Anon. I feel that my magic is weakening, Discord is getting stronger... Soon he'll break the seal and I will end up losing all control of my body, if that happens, the world is done for."
  130. "You took me in, trained me, treated me like your own, just so I could kill you?"
  131. >"Forgive me for this, Anon, but there is no other way. It is the destiny of the survivor to keep the world moving, so long as he survives, the world does."
  132. >You're speechless.
  133. "I'm not going to fight you, old man."
  134. >"You don't have a choice."

  136. >"Forgive me for this, Anon."
  137. >Clicking his fingers again, the table dissapears, and Starswirl is clad in a giant suit of black metal armor.
  138. >A large black blade apparates into his hand, as he dashes straight for you.
  139. >You drop the rifle and pull out your own sword, standing your ground and blocking his strike.
  140. >Starswirl proves too strong, as he overcomes your block and sends you flying, hitting the wall.
  141. >As you groan, you sparingly use your magic to heal some of your wounds, and pick up your runeblade to fight him.
  142. >You attempt to cast a seal on Starswirl to try and stop him from using his Magic.
  143. >Holy shit. It actually worked on him?
  144. >Guess he wasn't lying about him getting old, that armor must've been some of the last of his magic.
  145. >Starswirl notices this and laughs.
  146.
  147. "Why do you still lead the monsters, then?"
  148. >"My boy, these creatures are not natural, they exist to murder, rape and pillage. To conquer and dominate all. If left untamed, they would've destroyed our world long ago."

  167. >Starswirl notices this and laughs.
  168.
  169. >"Sealing me will only stop me from using anymore magic, I'm still stronger than you."
  170. >Another swipe at you causes you to jump back and regain your footing.
  171. >Acquiring a correct stance, you hold your blade with both hands and give yourself a lightning enhancement.
  172. >It's the most dangerous element to use, but if done correctly, you could take him down pretty quickly.
  173. >Charging at Starswirl, sparks fly as your blades clash.
  174. "Think about this, what about your daughter, what about everyone else?"
  175. >"She doesn't even know the truth, and they haven't seen me in months, I might as well be dead to them!"
  176. >You push him back with your blade this time, going for a quick strike on his right shoulder.
  177. >Starswirl tries going for a quick stab, but you anticipated that and step to the side
  178. >You swing as hard as you can, trying to break his armor.
  179. >As it connects, lightning reflects back from the plate and sends you back a few feet, but it destroys the small piece of armor in the process.
  180. >This is your shot, whilst he's stunned!
  181. >You charge as much magic as possible, and are about to direct it to his weak spot, till you look up and realize he's not there.
  182. >Wha-
  183. >You're cut short, as you see a familiar blade drive itself a few inches into your right shoulder.
  184. >Your vision goes red, as the runeblade is kicked out of your hand, and you're left moaning, clutching your wound in pain.
  185. >Trying to cast magic on it only makes it hurt more.
  186. >"Anti-magic, son. The wounds burn harder in response to magical trauma."
  187. >Starswirl brings his foot on your chest, and kicks you down.
  188. >His eyes have changed from his normal blue, to a vicious shade of red.
  189. >You fear that Discord may have already taken some hold of him.
  190. >"Goodbye, Anon. You can die knowing that at least you got this far, everyone else is probably dead."
  191. >You struggle for your runeblade, but are stopped by him stomping on your hand.
  192. >Yelping in pain, you curse at him with everything, as you try to limp out of his hold, but fail.
  193.
  194. >"Before you die, however, there is one thing I'd like you to know."
  195. >"Your parents and girlfriend - I killed them, I remember seeing their faces as I personally murdered each and every one of them."
  196. >"I had my eye on you for a while, Anon, and you ended up impressing me, in a weird way, I'm proud of you!"
  197. >"And now this proud father has to sacrifice his lamb, goodbye, Anon."
  198. >FuckFuckFuckFuckFUUUUUUCK.
  199. >There has to be a way to stop him, your luck hasn't faltered yet.
  200. >Then you realize, there's still the open piece in his armor!
  201. >You fumble with the other hand, ignoring Starswirl's monlogue as you manage to pull out the revolver out.
  202. >Taking one shot at his stomach, it actually ends up bringing him on his knees.
  203. >You fumble to get up, but push yourself, you can let this Starswirl destroy the world.
  204. >You kick his blade away, and bring a right hook to his face, leaving him dazed.
  205. >Walking towards where your runeblade was, you pick it up and face Starswirl for a few seconds.
  206. >Eventually he glances at you and smiles coyly.
  207. >"What's the matter?"
  208. "Tell me I don't have to do this... Tell me that you'll stop."
  209. >Starswirl's grin drops, as he looks down in dissapointment.
  210. "Tell me that you can stop!"
  211. >"I will never stop."
  212. "That's what I was afraid you'd say."
  213. >You sigh, walking up behind him and bringing your blade to his neck.
  214. >"There must always be a King of Monsters."
  215. "I can't..."
  216. >"Just wear the helmet I was, they will recognize you as their leader."
  217. "Not after everything that's happened..."
  218. >"There is no one else suited to the job, and the cycle must go on, otherwise the world will simply be destroyed."
  219. "I'm... I'm sorry for this."
  220. >"You did nothing wrong, child, now do it, you've got a lot more work to do now, and the last thing you need is more emotional baggage."
  221. "Goodbye Starswirl."
  222. >He nods, you feel a tear sliding down your hand, but not your own...
  223. >You shake it off and bring your blade across his neck, finishing the kill.
