  1. [18:43] Katrin pauses to crane her head back to look up at the wall.
  2.
  3. Now that's one hell of a privacy fence.
  4. (Katrin)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [18:43] "'course I am, I take after mah auntie afterall."
  8.
  9. Rat pride continued to fill him. Helping gather gifts- even if his name wasn't attached- for the family was a pleasure to do. It was the least he could do to show his appreciation for all their fine work in helping run the city.
  10.
  11. "If yeh ever need somethin' from me, be it potions er otherwise, don't be a stranger."
  12.
  13. He continued to puff away on his cigar- Emilee was a fantastic influence on kids.
  14.
  15. And so was Alexei for that matter with sylavanum… though the young rat had not fallen to it yet.
  16. (Grifty)
  17. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. [18:50] A tiny smoking rat, how adorable! Natasha wondered if he and Falk hung out together, even if the Ebners would probably never allow her around their youngest one after Alexei's free samples of Sylavanum.
  20.
  21. "Oh, good. Too bad I can't go around trying potions anymore." Though she didn't disclose the reason, it would be obvious enough for anyone close to the Docros. "I sell reagents in the city. Please, let me know if you need anything. A special price is made for my allies."
  22. (Natasha Vanrouge)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [18:52] Not only a fancy privacy fence, but voices on the other side. How about that. The gangly Drakan starts to meander around the edge of the wall, instead of climbing it like surely an absolute genius would do.
  26.
  27. Instead she takes the normal way about, poking her head to glance into the rather opulent court yard.
  28.
  29. "Huh. Nice digs."
  30. (Katrin)
  31. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  32.
  33. [18:54] A quick glance at the woman's dilated pupils was all it took for the rat to understand what she meant by her small comment; he himself planned to learn the 'Docro Special' after all.
  34.
  35. "Ah, 't's a shame. If yah ever end up 'urt again let me know and I'll try patchin' yah up again."
  36.
  37. The more medical experience he could get in the medical field, the better.
  38.
  39. "I think I am in'eed ah some glowin' shroom and 'mber. If yah got any ah that I'll be sure tah take em off your 'ands."
  40.
  41. As the intruder began to enter the courtyard, a hand was placed on a holstered gun on his hip as his ratty eyes narrowed.
  42.
  43. "This is tha Docro manor, state yer business er get tha fuck out!"
  44. (Grifty)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [18:58] A special request for glowing mushrooms and ember was noted. From what she could recall it, most of the stock from the former one had been acquired from her father's stash. It would be a shame if nobody ever got to use it.
  48.
  49. To have people wandering around the manor was usual, as Natasha found out by living with the Docros. However, nobody had been as daring as the drakanite girl yet.
  50.
  51. "Girl. Griff is talking to you."
  52. (Natasha Vanrouge)
  53. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  54.
  55. [19:01] Katrin was from the north. The blood of ancient dragons coursed through her veins. So when the terse words are heard, the Razuka reaching for his gun...
  56.
  57. She immediately sheepishly freezes, holds up her blistered hands with their palms out, and tries to look as unthreatening as possible. Which, as it turns out, is not difficult for her at all. The Drakan girl does not cut a terribly intimidating figure.
  58.
  59. Somewhere her ancestors no doubt weep a terrible lament.
  60.
  61. "Haha, whoa, whoa, hey there," she stammers, accompanying her uneasy laughter with an equally uneasy smile.
  62.
  63. "Not from around these parts, sorry, just a wandering craftsman comin' on through, hi how are ya, name's Kay- BOY that's a REALLY spiffy gun you got there!"
  64. (Katrin)
  65. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  66.
  67. [19:05] The rat shook his head in disbelief.
  68.
  69. "'ell yah'd do well tah learn, and fast."
  70.
  71. A small finger was pointed her drakanite features.
  72.
  73. "Yer a lizard, if yer from up in the Coat up north, yer at war with us."
  74.
  75. The Fireblooded of the north were at very blatant war against Achyon and The Empire of Barsburg, how this 'wandering craftsman' hadn't come into possession of this information was frankly baffling to him.
  76.
  77. His hand moved away from his gun as he simply crossed his arms in frustration.
  78.
  79. "...Name's Griffty." No 'Cheesed to meet you.' for this one today.
  80. (Grifty)
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82.
  83. [19:09] No 'Cheesed to meet you'? That could only mean Grifty wasn't feeling very friendly towards the oddly nice stranger!
  84.
  85. "A Fireblooded." A radiant smile illuminated Natasha's face. Wasn't that the perfect occasion to meet one of their kin, only weeks after what Dimitri had done?
  86.
  87. From inside the manor, a voice called for the Vanrouge. Realization hit her soon enough to stop a fight from happening.
  88.
  89. "I hope you were speaking about my rifle. Anyway---"
  90. (Natasha Vanrouge)
  91. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  92.
  93. [19:14] There's a little flinch as the word 'lizard' rolls out of the Razuka's drawling lexicon. She keeps her uneasy smile. It gains the slightest bit of an edge.
  94.
  95. "I mean sure, I'm as much a lizard as you are a mouse I guess, huh?" Oh. Oh that might not have been the best thing to say, and as soon as it's left her proverbial forked tongue she seems to realize it visibly.
  96.
  97. "But what I mean to say is I might be from there I really don't call it home, if that helps at all. I go all over, I do my thing. Not a 'Fireblooded'. That's more a religion, not a people," she rambles.
  98.
  99. "You both've got some nice weapons, honestly. Haven't seen a bunch like that too up close."
  100. (Katrin)
  101. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  102.
  103. [19:18] The rat's gaze narrows even further, as an enraged scowl comes upon his face.
  104.
  105. Did he just hear what he think he fucking heard?
  106.
  107. Slowing walking up to the 'lizard', the rat would push his face up near them, invading their personal space to an exceptional degree.
  108.
  109. "Did you just call me a fucking mouse?"
  110.
  111. His accent seemed to miraculously disappear for a moment as a carnal rage filled him.
  112.
  113. He was a rat.
  114. Not a mouse.
  115. (Grifty)
  116. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  117.
  118. [19:21] It's possible that given her blood and her heritage, Katrin might have the height advantage. She doesn't have that advantage when it comes to sheer rage, apparently. The Drakan girl with her poorly shorn hair doesn't precisely get down and beg, but she does appear to regret the words.
  119.
  120. "...Yeah?"
  121.
  122. She owns up to them all the same. Another poor decision on the road built from pavers of, you guessed it, more bad choices.
  123.
  124. Katrin only barely, just barely, looks him in the eye.
  125. (Katrin)
  126. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  127.
  128. [19:23] The rat began to turn red with sheer rage as a hand slowly lowered to his holstered revolver.
  129.
  130. The small leather clamp was undone at the hammer was cocked.
  131.
  132. "I am a rat.
  133. I'm giving you til the count of ten to run."
  134.
  135. Bloodshot eyes met the drakanite's gaze as he stared her dead in the face.
  136.
  137. There would be no mercy for such transgressions.
  138. (Grifty)
  139. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  140.
  141. [19:26] Yep. That was the wrong call. She'd talked her way past that ogre earlier and was feeling froggy, so she took a leap.
  142.
  143. Bad call.
  144.
  145. Katrin opts for a brilliant finish, a triple-header in her bad-decisions for the day. A real home run. Instead of opting to use that ten seconds, which would have been more on brand for her cowardice, she grows a spine for half a second.
  146.
  147. The Drakan girl uses that spine to reach not for the axe with its miner's pick on her back, but the rusty, near useless hammer at her toolbelt. Katrin whips it out to try and smack grifty with it to catch him off guard.
  148. (Katrin)
  149. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  150.
  151. [19:30] {Lost Aggressive RPB against Grifty}
  152. [19:30] ** Grifty has inflicted an injury upon Katrin. ("Temporary Injury", "Temporary Injury", "Temporary", "") **
  153. [19:32] The moment the drakanite reached for the rusty pickaxe, the rat was moving in the blink of an eye.
  154.
  155. Plasma shrouded his hands as he grabbed the girl by the wrist- despite his small size, his strength was immense.
  156.
  157. With a great "HMMPH!" the razuka lifted the woman's entire body off the ground like a ragdoll, dislocating their forearm in the process as he slammed their body into the ground.
  158.
  159. "TEACH YAH TAH CALL ME A FUCKING MOUSE AGAIN YOU BITCH!"
  160.
  161. With that he dusted his coat off and began to walk away.
  162. (Grifty)
  163. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  164.
  165. [19:37] It really is just a repeat of the mutant out in the east. A few wrong words, a little bite of attitude, and WHAM! It ends painfully. At the very least this time there's less blood.
  166.
  167. The wrenching sound hits her narrowly before the sensation of pain does. A wet, popping twist that would have been more disconcerting if she weren't undergoing immense amounts of pain. She positively yowls in agony.
  168.
  169. A new day. A new beating. Fantastic. Great.
  170.
  171. As the Razuka turns she sits up to cradle her dislocated arm. Two slit eyes bore into his back as she feels a fury, albeit an impotent one, fill up her belly.
  172. (Katrin)
  173. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
