  73. February 2047: Source of atmospheric cleaning detected by orbital scans: unknown group of humans in China have cobbled together terraforming device from the artificial objects in Sekhmet 0.
  74. April 2047: Unknown humans activate second terraforming engine and are promptly assaulted by unidentified black monsters, which fade into radioactive dust when killed and devour human flesh. Devices remain operational, but all Jollyboat attempts to contact unknown humans are met with radio silence.
  75. June 2047: Unidentified Chinese humans finally respond to radio hails after securing remains of crashed ultra-high-altitude weather plane. Identifying themselves as members of PLA high command science staff who hid underground in Cold War era bunkers, they explain that they were not a part of Operation Jollyboat, but did manage to salvage pieces of alien weapon with nuclear submarines. They surmise that Operation Jollyboat will be able to proceed with Kemomimi project in only fifty years, but it will take over six thousand for Earth’s oceans to return to pre-impact levels, and seven thousand to return to pre-industrial levels.
  76. August 2047: Chinese survivor team locates nearby Operation Jollyboat vault and camps outside, but are promptly assaulted by black alien creatures. Animals show no signs whatsoever of advanced self-preservation nor cognitive abilities and assault humans without hesitation on sight. Chinese military personnel repel monsters at first, but suffer eighty percent casualties in second wave. Total human race survivors: 923 left on Earth.
  77. December 2047: Chinese survivors and Operation Jollyboat crew coordinate establishment of surface fortress over Chinese Jollyboat base, but Chinese crew’s life support gear runs out days before completion. Without atmospheric filtration equipment, Chinese crew begin dying quickly. Operation Jollyboat crew quickly finish work and seal fortress against outside air.
  78. January 2048: Operation Jollyboat supreme command in Oslo is abruptly contacted by Danish survivalist billionaire Roland Volstag, who has finally managed to dig his antenna out from under the scattered remains of his bunker’s surface structures. Volstag reports that black alien monsters have attacked his bunker and begs for aid. Operation Jollyboat refuses. Volstag goes silent as monsters breach his bunker.
  79. February 2048: Radio signals from unknown American military base reach Operation Jollyboat secondary bunker in Cheyanne. American Army personnel report sudden clearing of atmosphere over Salt Lake, with radiation and dust levels reaching half of the breathable threshold.
  80. July 2048: Waves of unnatural lightning erupt from dust storm over Rifleman Bank survival bunker for Operation Jollyboat weather personnel, destroying surface structures. Operation Jollyboat personnel repel subsequent sudden alien attack with stockpiled light machine guns, but two aliens escape, wounded.
  81. August 2048: Signal from last operational space station reaches Oslo, reporting that the lightning storms and at least some of the black alien objects are being controlled by pulses of radiation from Sekhmet’s remaining intact artificial components. Operation Jollyboat personnel are unable to reach the site, but station de-orbits space telescope on site, destroying its ice cover. US Military base launches cruise missile from subterranean silo and nukes Sekhmet broadcaster. Alien machine goes haywire, causing freak lightning storms that destroy New Zealand and parts of Australia with energy discharges.
  82. December 2048: Operation Jollyboat personnel calculate that surviving human race is now too small genetically to sustain itself more than four additional generations.
  83. August 2050: Dust storms begin to fade again, clearing completely over parts of Siberia. Operation Jollyboat probes begin testing ground for contaminants and find parts of Baja peninsula and Florida panhandle completely clear of alien radiation and material.
  84. December 2051: Operation Jollyboat scanners detect Morse code signal from Norway. Sealed aircraft deploy from Oslo and arrive at Crop Trust facility that has miraculously survived impact, and determine signal to be from automated seed perpetuation machine attempting to restart Earth plant life.
  85. June 2053: Director Koenig makes decision to consolidate all intact Earth medical supplies in a single Operation Jollyboat Kemomimi vault to begin making more Kemomimi and placing them in stasis. All intact aircraft worldwide dispatch to intact surface cities and begin collection.
  86. September 2059: The replenishment cloning labs in the world’s oceans run out of their stockpiled organic mixtures and shut down. Earth’s oceans begin naturally repopulating.
  87. June 2064: Human colony in Oslo is formally reopened by President Koenig, who acknowledges that it is the final act of mankind and asks all humans to begin preparing for extinction.
  88. September 2069: Radiation levels outside of underground colony in Oslo drop to tolerable shirtsleeves level on half of all days.
  89. November 2070: President Koenig dies of cancer, leaving Presidency of humankind to Jack Lomar. Lomar declares that all surviving humans shall spend their remaining time expanding the subterranean archives of all knowledge that form the core of Operation Jollyboat labs, so that the new race can pick up where mankind left off.
  90. March 2076: Black alien lifeforms, now known as Shadows, observed emerging from subterranean chambers in areas where they have never before been spotted. New Oslo is assaulted by over two hundred thousand organisms that charge mindlessly into killing fields, managing to kill four hundred humans before being destroyed utterly. Survivors of Operation Jollyboat are unable to explain this sudden aggression.
  91. July 2078: An unknown sailing vessel of distinctly human manufacture but of no known model is sighted off the coast of Norway by Operation Jollyboat recon drones. It flees contact and does not respond to hails.
  92. October 2078: Four Operation Jollyboat vaults go offline within seconds of each other in Mexico and the southern US. President Lomar vetoes recon mission, citing lack of fuel for return journey.
  93. January 2080: The black alien lifeforms no longer release sand upon death, but begin turning into harmless clouds of helium instead. Their mechanisms of existence remain as enigmatic as ever.
  94. February 2080: Seven unknown sailing craft arrive unannounced at Operation Jollyboat vault in Aarhus. To the utter shock of Jollyboat staff watching remotely, the craft are crewed by Kemomimi, fully grown and clothed in ragged human garb. They are able to speak fluent English and converse with each other unintimidated by the skeletons of the Danish city. Using drones and loudspeakers, the Jollyboat crew direct the Kemomimi to New Oslo.
  95. June 2080: The Kemomimi, numbering over a hundred and apparently fully grown, arrive at New Oslo by following drones. The New Oslo humans, including the last fifteen living Operation Jollyboat personnel, welcome their descendants with open arms, and begin to educate them on the history of the world and how to use the machinery of mankind. The Kemomimi, it transpires, are incredibly intelligent, perceptive, and by human standards, kind and playful. The humans of New Oslo observe with awe as the Kemomimi instantly master nearly every technology put before them, even given that the base tech levels programmed into the mental imprint machines in the chimaera labs were that of the 1800s.
  96. August 2080: President Lomar orders the activation of all intact Operation Jollyboat and Crop Trust vaults, since the experiment to create a successor species is a clear success. The surviving human race has climbed back to five hundred by this point, with only fourteen Operation Jollyboat personnel left alive. The Kemomimi race begins its conquest of the Earth as hundreds of thousands of man-beast hybrids of three subspecies emerge blinking into the light of their new domain.
  97. December 2080: The Kemomimi of New Oslo, numbering over four thousand, begin to learn the more advanced technologies of mankind, including their computer technologies and the new material created by the people of New Oslo.
  98. January 2081: A scientist named Annabeth Kimura of the New Oslo laboratory cracks Einstein’s relativistic vault and discovers the secret of matter-to-energy conversion, using only the energy of the original object. The surviving New Oslo humans elect not to make this technology available to the Kemomimi until the new species has shown greater foresight than the humans of Old Earth. However, the decision to use a new calendar to commemorate the greatest scientific discovery in all Earth history is made, and January 2081 becomes January 1 Anno Creatio, in honor of the day physics was defeated, and the secrets of creation unveiled.
  99. August 1AC: A horde of over four hundred thousand alien Shadows assaults New Oslo without warning, but the machines of the city are ready. Fed hundreds of millions of pounds of rubble and debris from the old city, the Conversion Platforms produce thousands of identical robotic guards that assault the alien monsters with ferocity no less than that of their enemies, and the city is saved without a single human fatality. The Kemomimi begin to secretly worship the Earless as gods for their clearly magical power. When the New Oslo humans learn of this, they realize that just because the Kemomimi have an innate understanding of the use of technology, they do not necessarily have a comprehension of the underlying mechanisms of its physical components. They resolve to use the Operation Jollyboat vault computer networks to begin teaching the new societies of Kemomimi what the old world was really like.
  100. February 5AC: The last of the original Operation Jollyboat personnel, Doctor Lewis Phillip, records a secret message in the computers of the remaining Chinese submarine and sets it on an automated course for the North Sea Caverns, where he hopes the Kemomimi will find it and understand its contents. Into it, he has packed all of his secret research into the aliens, their anatomy, and their pre-Forlorn Hope intentions, as well as the theories as to what the Shadows actually are, and the mysterious energy spike that killed all of the humans that survived Sekhmet without going belowground.
  101. December 8AC: The Kemomimi of New Oslo begin to disperse across Europe and Asia with the knowledge of the Earless, but only after reluctantly vowing not to regard humans as gods.
  102. August 11AC: Lewis Phillip finally succumbs to radiation poisoning. Operation Jollyboat concludes.
  103. January 12AC: Genetic modification devices in New Oslo and Outpost Reykjavik begin creating new organisms to populate the world’s oceans and landmasses to better cohabitate with the world’s new owners. Fueled by the functionally infinite resources of the Conversion Platforms, these machines begin restocking Earth with life that does not conform perfectly to the pre-Sekhmet cladistics.
  104. October 15AC: New Oslo researchers, the children of Operation Jollyboat, finish miniaturizing the Conversion Platform technology, and use a space-capable rocket to send one to the long-abandoned Moon base to begin repairing it, intending to move there and bequeath Earth to their spritely Kemomimi children.
  105. January 16AC: New Oslo researchers watch in awe and joy as the Kemomimi societies of what was once Australia begin mapping human ruins and stockpiling its goods and books, building a new society, without a single one of them having ever seeing an Operation Jollyboat recording outside of their orientation videos in their stasis cells. The Kemomimi do not seem to know what all of these devices actually do, but their combination of spirited joi de vivre and unreserved curiosity are inspiring to all of the surviving humans.
  106. December 16AC: As an experiment, the Outpost Reykjavik researchers provide a Conversion Platform with a few hardcoded products like toilet paper, fresh water, fabric, and simple digging tools to a Kemomimi village in what was previously Iceland. To their fascination, the Kemomimi seem to know how to use it without effort, and begin enthusiastically feeding human wreckage into the machine to produce their goods. Astonishingly, they do not fight over the material or even hoard it, but share it freely.
  107. 22AC: The Kemomimi population flourishes in peaceful communes of adventure, exploration, and family, as hundreds of thousands of Kemomimi females give birth to the first generations of natural-born Kemomimi. The last known human populations of Earth consolidate in the great underground bunkers of New Oslo to prepare to leave for space and give Earth to its more deserving residents.
  108. 26AC: The Chinese weather machines are given hundreds of robotic guards by the last humans on Earth using Conversion Platforms to ensure that they never stop working to restore Earth to pre-industrial climate.
  109. 30AC: All known humans left on Earth record farewell messages for their Kemomimi heirs and board the rocket Third Genesis to travel to the Moon, where Conversion Platform robots have begun coring settlements into the endless rock, and gene labs are cloning the next generation of human life.
  110. 33AC: A Conversion Platform left in New Oslo begins to malfunction, and combines its matter conversion and robotic design functions to create autonomous but non-reproducing robots that slowly spread into some Kemomimi-settled areas. The humans watching from space shut down the machine, but certain other Platforms made from the same template also begin malfunctioning in identical ways, and the humans do not manage to shut them all down.
  111. 34AC: Horrified by their sloppiness, a team of five descendants from Operation Jollyboat staff return to Earth and manually destroy the machines, but it is far too late. Driven by coding impulses they can’t self-delete, there are now hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of self-fueling robots loose in ancient human cities and ruins, aggressively driving off any Kemomimi that approach. Sick with self-loathing for managing to ruin the new Earth in just four years, the Operation Jollyboat descendants vow to remain on Earth until death, and spend their every waking day destroying these machines. The legends of these five young heroes outlive them by thousands of years among the Kemomimi who watched in awe as they strode across the broken Earth, immune to lightning and Shadow attacks, reaping hundreds of thousands of robots and Shadows with weapons made of flame and steel and waves of sound.
  112. 50AC: Elandra Addid, the last human born before the impact of Sekhmet 0, dies in her sleep on the Moon.
  113. 55AC: Using the Operation Jollyboat networks one last time, the five Moon humans remotely reprogram the remaining Platforms to only accept synthetic materials as components and fuel for their conversions, so that the Kemomimi do not accidentally destroy the biosphere of Earth. Leaving the Jollyboat vaults wide open so curious Kemomimi can explore them safely if they want, and destroying the remote controls of the network, the five humans don their power armor and go on one final campaign of destruction against the Shadows, walking through their ranks like ships through water towards the North Pole. They are never seen again.
  114. 74AC: The last humans on Earth, the inbred descendants of some people trapped in the remains of Cheyenne Mountain Complex, die. The Earless are now extinct on their homeworld, and live on only in their shinies, the fond memories of elder Kemomimi, and a few recordings in the surviving Jollyboat vaults. The Moon humans have long disappeared into the warren of expanding tunnels on the Moon, never to return to Earth.
  115. 104AC: A sudden burst of signals from the Moon base imparts thousands of new blueprints from the Conversion Platforms. All surface lights on the Moon base go dark.
  116. 1356AC: Kemomimi evolution progresses at the same pace as humankind’s did, and in time, slow diversions of population emerge among Kemomimi, some of which become more bestial than others, and some of which become more humanlike. Regardless of human appearance, all are more resistant to wounding, chemicals, the effects of aging, and radiation than humans ever were. Some eventually develop tails, but no other genetic aberrances arise. Slow expansions of the populations’ gene pools lead to ever broader ranges of hair, skin, and eye colors.
  117. 4498AC: Continued diversification of Kemomimi populations leads to a distinct separation of two population groupings: Land and Sea. Land Kemomimi tend to be calmer, quieter, and have sharper senses, while Sea Kemomimi tend to be stronger, more emotive, and more energetic. The sheer variety of artificial life forms created by the Outpost Reykjavik laboratories increase the diversity of marine life in flooded human cities significantly.
  118. 5325AC: The Chinese weather machines finally break down after thousands of years of covert maintenance by their robot guards, but the Earth is now on a path of permanent healing. So long as the Kemomimi keep on their subconscious orders to rebuild the lost forests of Earth, keep growing as much kelp as they need, and never start tapping the world’s last few petrochemical deposits, Earth will soon come to be a natural paradise from pole to pole despite being heavily inhabited.
  119. 5966AC: To the shock of the nearby populace of Kemomimi, an island appears off the coast of Ohalo Port City, which appears on no maps and was not present according to any of the local fishermen. The island rises one foot from the water and is surrounded by dangerous suboceanic outcroppings of rock and sand.
  120. 5992AC: Seventeen new islands appear, covered in dead plants and fish, off of the southern coast of the Basket Mountains. While no Kemomimi records denote an origin for these islands, their presence is noted on a few Earless maps in the Basket Mountains Museum of Weird Earless Stuff. The meaning of this is unclear.
  121. 6303AC: The Kemomimi of Nedralt Peninsula note that their fishing fleets have to move further and further afield to collect fresh fish, and two days later, a new island suddenly rises from the sea in the Atlantic Ocean. Shocked Kemomimi scholars discover that for some reason, sea levels in some parts of the world have begun to drop dramatically, but other bodies of water are completely unaffected.
  122. 6320AC: Roka is born.
  123. 6324AC: Brincal is born.
  124. 6325AC: Kassia is born.
  125. 6326AC: Droma is born.
  126. 6328AC: Colossal drops in Shadow numbers and aggression observed across the entire Western Hemisphere. Kemomimi are unable to find a cause, but enjoy the reprieve.
  127. 6329AC: Kibbie is born.
  128. 6347AC: The Grey Trawler deploys from Washer City for the first time, with Captain Brincal at the chair.
  129. 5 April 6348AC: Present day.
