  1. “Now let the day just slip away so the dark night may watch over you…”
  2. Vesper’se…Dusk… The fleeting moments before Misae, the white sun, descended behind the Crescent Mountains. As far as the eyes could see, the cerulean sky began its transition from day to night. Vibrant violets and dark blues cascaded across the sky with scatters of faraway stars twinkling within the vast darkening canvas. Visible as they were during the day, the Auroras shone bright and effervescent, leading the wary souls of the departed to their final resting place. With eventide came the rising of the Three Moons: Tulay, Ayperi, and Pamuya. Their celestial and natural light casting down upon this side of the World of Paradise as it fell into slumber.
  3. In a realm hidden from all others, protected from the Forest of Obscura and the dangers that lurked within by the Crescent Mountains, silence shrouded the Lilac Woods like a warm, soft blanket over a dreaming child. The creatures that lived in this Woods felt safe and secure in their dens and nests as Misae set for the day. They remained undisturbed and unaware of the petite kitsune stepping silently down one of the many dirt paths which networked her small woods. Her footfalls were soundless; neither the leaves rustled beneath her bare feet nor did branches break as they seemed to reach out for her as she passed. It was as if her presence was welcome by the woods itself. Big or small, she cared for the creatures of the grove like no other, watching and guarding them from her place amongst them.
  4. “Velvet blue, silent true. It embraces your heart and your soul…”
  5. “Nocturne.”
  6.
  7. Far off into the distance appeared a silhouetted form outlined by the light of the Three Moons. Step by step, this creature moved further into the woods. Alluring mercurial eyes watched the foliage around her illuminate in glows of blues, greens, and violets, mimicking the lights of the Auroras which danced overhead. The glows reflected in the irises of her silver eyes, and she smiled. Reaching out with nimble fingers, she gave each luminescent leaf or petal a small delicate touch which brought brighter and vivid colors to the areas where she touched. As the last rays of the day set for the night, and with the continuity of the Three Moons ascending into the night sky, her entirety glowed in their radiance.
  8. The canopy of fruit and flowering trees grew sparser as she continued on. Step by step, she moved further into the Lilac Woods and down the same dirt path. Light of the Three Moons filtered through the trees, casting shadows upon this benevolent spirit walking silently towards the end of the path and to her destination. Emerging out of the shadows of the path, ferns and bushes seem to give way for her as she took her first step upon lush, green grass, and as if by magic, little white and violet flowers appeared beneath her toes. The natural feel under the soles of her feet was enough to make her inhale the sweeten air of the Lilac Woods through her nose and expel a sigh of content.
  9. “Never cry, never sigh, you don’t have to wonder why…”
  10.
  11. Leaving behind the trees, ferns and bushes, she walked into a clearing in the Lilac Woods with a large lake at midpoint. She fell still, silver eyes observing the sights which surrounded the Elaelune Lake. Small spherical orbs of translucent light began to arise from the shimmering clear waters of the lake. There was a gentle sway of the trees’ branches along the outskirts of the lake and its clearing as if they conducted the orchestra to the night’s song. The wind also made the long flowing skirts of her attire brush along the calves of her legs with each step she took. Cool green grass turned into rich wet soil as the kitsune stepped forth, and the same gentle wind caressed at her moon-kissed skin. Snow-white and lilac curls spilled over her shoulders and cascaded down to the small of her back where they gave soft little bounces with each movement she made.
  12. Stopping only when she felt the warm white sands of the Elaelune’s shore between her toes, the kitsune, this Guardian of the Lilac Woods, gazed out along the docile surface of the shimmering lake. Her iridescent eyes fell upon the triad of moons’ reflections in the water’s mirrored surface as they also appeared in her mercurial irises. The warm sweet breeze once again caressed at her form, causing the young Guardian to give a shiver before lifting her head towards the night’s canvas. Not a glimpse of Misae was to be found, having set behind the Crescent Mountains as the kitsune made her journey to the Elaelune Lake. Taking yet another deep breath through her nostrils, the kitsune enjoyed the sweets scents of the Lilac Woods. It was palliative, making any worry or stress the kitsune had melt from her mind, heart, and soul.
  13. “Always be, always see, come and dream the night with me…”
  14. “Nocturne.”
  15.
  16. After admiring the scene before her, the kitsune took a tender step forward towards the water. Shivering when she felt the cool wetness wash over her feet and up her legs, she became careful as to not slip on the stones underneath the water the further she waded into the lake. The water felt heavenly against her and made the skirts of her dress moved in time to the ebb and flow of the lake. Higher and higher the water rose up her legs as she walked with such elegance into the lake. With the gracefulness of a swan, she continued on until stopping with the water at waist height. She extended her arms out from her, her fingertips barely brushing against the surface of the water to animate little ripples. Careful still so she did not slip, she turned full circle, her fingers gliding through the water to create more minuscule waves, and she smiled. Feeling the water between her fingers and against her body made her feel alive.
  17. Her soft, dreamy gaze drew aloft to the night sky which was bursting with tiny points of light behind the Three Moons and the Auroras. The mercurial irises of her silver eyes seemed to reflect the dimming hues of the heavens themselves as if they held the key to the gateway of the Kha’droma, the Spirit World. All around her, the rustling of swaying trees in a passing breeze, the musical symphony of whispering spirits and beeping wisps put the kitsune at ease. She stood still in the cool clear waters of the Elaelune Lake, her ears perking up and ever alert while listening to the sounds of nature encompassing her. The billowing wind bounced the long, white curls of hair over her shoulders and down her back into the water. Those snowy tresses became one with the lake; swirling and flowing just beneath the surface. From the glow of the moons shining down upon the water’s reflection, her willowy hair floated gossamer in the ebb and flow of the gentle lake.
  18. “Have no fear when the night draws near and fills you with dreams and desires…”
  19.
  20. Water lilies of white and violet drifted along the lake’s gentle current. The warm sugared breeze carried flower petals from the blossoming trees of the Lilac Woods. Large beautiful koi and goldfish swam underneath the cool clear waters of the lake, and some even jumped out of the water to catch glimpses of the moonlight. Small waves crashed against the white sanded shores of the once calm and collected Elaelune Lake. While the wind continued to blow, cattails of unusual colors from the mystical blue, green, and violet glows of the Lilac Woods began to sway to and fro. A musical symphony of restless frogs, crickets, and other nocturnal creatures began the moment the wind picked up. And in the wind, it carried hollow whispers from the spirits which resided within the Lilac Woods.
  21.
  22. All was tranquil. All was beautiful. As the kitsune’s delicate fingers glided through the smooth surface of the lake, the ethereal light of the Three Moons shining down on her intensified, encasing her entire form in beautiful glow. The little spherical orbs of energy which rose up from the waters of the lake drifted near, as if coming to investigate the creature which entered their home. The orbs, also known as Wisps, danced along to the rhythm of the night and with the movements of the breeze. Their playful beeps only added to the harmonious air the Lilac Woods had created. Another gentle sigh left the three-tailed Guardian, and the smile endured upon her lips as the song of night and of the Lilac Woods reached her ears.
  23. “Like a child asleep, so warm, so deep, you will find me there waiting for you…”
  24. “Nocturne.”
  25.
  26. The Guardian’s ivory skin was kissed by the otherworldly glows of Tulay, Ayperi, and Pamuya while she stood waist-high within the cool waters of the Elaelune Lake. Petals of white, lilac, and pink flowers from the drifting wind began to land atop of the water’s surface, creating ripples in the water to meet those caused from her fingers. The natural and ethereal magnificence of the Lilac Woods at night was soaked up within the kitsune’s sterling silver eyes. It was simply breathtaking. And it was all brought together with the Auroras streaking across the sky from the North to the South over En’nairda. Her gaze, which had focused on the beauty of the Lilac Woods had turned towards the heavens and now mirrored what they had to offer. The Auroras, the Three Moons, and the twinkling stars appeared within the irises of her eyes, and still she smiled, grateful for the opportunity to witness such a beautiful phenomenon.
