I just want to start by telling you a little bit about myself before I get any advice in which I am seeking.
I have lived in newburyport my entire life, i am the grandchild of old newburyporters before me. My roots run deep here in this quiet town.
I became a mother at the early age of 19, I never could imagine how hard that would be until I was faced with the challenge...I worked hard and became the mother to my child that most would call nothing short of wonderful!! I love being a mother. Unfortunately my daughters father decided to go a different path. So there I was young, scared, motivated to tackle life as a single mother on my own. I couldn't afford 1500.00 dollars in rent solely on my own and child care, I didnt believe in the welfare system and in didnt want to sit down and collect. I wanted my child to see a strong mom. So I worked...I worked damb hard and meanwhile I applied for low income housing so that I could get a helping hand but not a free ride! To my surprise I was excepted and I moved into a two bedroom apartment. It wasn't the atmosphere I wanted...however I figured a stepping stone to say the least. Well it was the worst decision I have ever made. Housing was a black hole, a jail and a life sentence. I kid none of you when I tell you how disgusting the newburyport housing authority is to the tenants they place here. When your on the outside looking in you think...well they chose that life. However when your here...your an inmate who is forced to deal with a director who is power hungry...a Warden and uses her maintenance men as if they were patrol or correctional officers. She placed cameras here to watch tenants and she sends notice after notice of surprise inspections and always has threatening letters for ridiculous things. I thought I could make a difference up here for the rest of these families, I worked next to some incredible woman in helping children feel safe and happy here. I ran for president council and won. However it only was taken as a joke and the housing authority had there laughs. I help other mothers here and have only tried to help. I met a man and married him we share three children together and have struggles to get out if here...rhe system has failed us as they take more than most coups afford..they take a portion of your income and raise it as you make more. We recently have been on the market to buy and 0pan to be out of here soon and hopefully never look back. I feel for those who won't have the same opportunity. I am currently helping a woman with getting her child on and off of the bus so she can work and hopefully get ahead. HERES WHERE THE STORY STARTS:

As I mentioned I'm helping a women a fellow mom who is homeless, living at a hotel with her son. She drops him here in the morning before her job so that he can catch the bus with my daughter who attends the same school. I get him off of the bus on the days she's running late. This woman does the same for me. They hang around most nights or dinner before my husband or I drive them to their hotel. The director assumed she was living with me so I explained our arrangement to her and why it seemed that way. She was not convinced for some reason and didnt like that this was going on. She wanted proof!! So after offering the hotel adress where my friend was staying, she then needed proof he wasn't using my address for school and began to tell me if hes using my adress for school I could be in serious trouble for committing fraud...ok I provided proof he was not. Then came her looking at her cameras and watching my friend come and go...she said she can see my friend come and go and that my friends son caused damage to the mail boxes..hahaha heres where it gets funny.
I was unaware of any of this and I offered to pay for any damages and I apologized. Then I heard nothing from this woman. I went over to the mailboxes and I didnt see any damage?!? I was confused and wondering if this lady was plugged in!? So not being rude I replied to her and asked her where we stood with this eviction and even after providing legal documents that my friend doesn't live here she still wants me to provide another adress for my friend...she said that if hes catching the bus here he MUST LIVE HERE. As sick and tired of I am of living here anyways...I have to deal with it until I place an offer on a house and move. I was served court papers today for an attempt to evict.

Any advice on how to deal with this lady? I know the court won't let me speak and tends to lean towards the housing authority because they are faced with evicting families all the time and they are a familiar face. I'm stumped!
