I understand that I made this into a spectacle and should not have done so is such a fashion. I've made many mistakes and I have been bullied into allowing this. I have always remained very clear that this day WOULD come. Every moderator does and has known I would assert myself if the subreddit became something other than intended. Maybe I rushed into adding the mods that I did. The sub grew very quickly and so I added some mods who I did not know, let alone trust.
I have been trying to change this and have been shouted down and forced to shut up. Or esle face the consequences and might of the users. Threats of doxxing to physical threats were just a few of the retaliatory measures I would face if I didn't go along with and allow the other mods and users carte blanc in running this sub.
Many of the mods called me a fail safe. They have even distinguished replies to users telling them as much. I have a vision, I have always had a vision for the path and content of this sub. It was never meant to be a haven for those with an agenda, but a place where people could discuss the coordination of media against it's audience as well as any and all attempts to discredit honest media. I've become a victim to this same discrediting that I want to prevent.

Yeah. I get psychologically destroyed by a barrage of hateful comments and made to go cower into my little corner and shut up. I don't need to close the sub. I never planned to. I plan to remod anyone who shared my vision and would move forward in that direction. This is why I did not wipe the comments.
I am open to any dialogue and will answer and questions or explain any detail. I used to huge into /subredditdrama in it various forms and offshoots. I knew it would be controversial. I thought I might try and give it a push. I even created an amazing copypasta to sell this. It looks like it worked, as everyone thought I was unhinged. Including you. Look back at how KotakuinAction was created. This has become a battleground for extreme views of all types, often those which I never would have allowed had I not been forced into doing so. I removed all the mods so that they were unable to have control over me and talk me into making choices and decisions I did not want. In doing so I also attracted users that were never intended and they became a new bully.
I wish to be given my mod rights back and be allowed to make certain changes. Modified and new rules. Rules that should have always existed. A new sidebar desctiption and a modied version of the wiki. I plan to mod others who are of like mind. What I wiped were the things that needed to be for a fresh start. Flair, bans, sidebar, wiki, mods, etc. I will not allow myself to be controled anymore. I am passionate about this. I can see why you removed my mod permissions. It was never neccesary to. I also don't think it's right for you to take them.
I never intended my drama bullshit to be so effective as to be reprimanded by Admins. Thank you

Plans moving forward.
    Shifting the content to all media. Truth and honesty in media. This will focus on any media that is manipulating it's readers. This is not only about what someone reads online or in their twitter feed. This is about news radio. Local news. Cable news. Newspapers. Mediums that actually affect everyday people.
    Outrage over a news or opinion article is not how this was supposed to go. I want to highlight how any media's create a narrative from the facts. Showing how media changes our perceptions and controls how we see the world. This is not a political motivation, but it will obviously be a large part of the content as that is what media is currently manipulating to form narratives that are based in fear, religion, hate, greed. This also includes repetitive misinformation designed to change what people think or believe. Yes, this does include all extreme political views. ShareBlue included.
    This is not creating a Politics 2.0 left wing socialist SJW subreddit. These types are also subject to criticism and over-site. The people should know what is factual. What is true. And not what media tells us it is.
    It is a heavy workload and I will need to close the sub while I make changes and recruit new moderators. This also functions as a cool-down period for the vocal minority of users to move on. My goal is to increase not only viewership. We will increase participation from the readers who are too afraid of commenting. No one want to be told to shut up or deal with troll like comments. Like r/science r/book etc. Thios will be for thought and discussion and not shouting matches and without meaningless content which is now KiA.
    I want to move forward with a more positive and welcoming environment. I expect 90% of commenters will leave. We want them to. We will attract a larger and more diverse userbase where we aim for 100% participation. Or at least that 100% of users fell welcome to participate without fear of fervent mobs of users attacking them. Replies should be informative and fact based. Not emotional one-liners.
    I have not commented in the past ~20 hours and I still receive horrible messages and responses. I am, however, extremely excited with the volume of users agreeing with me and offering support. They are far greater in numbers than I believed possible. This positive environment is that which I am finally creating.
    I have made lots of comments that are antithetical to my actual views and beliefs. Acquiescence, ego and fear of more hateful comments led me to a dark place. I'm still an asshole. We all are. But I am a good person and a wish to create a userbase full of those like me. I don't want an echo chamber; I want a free flowing exchange of thoughts. Again. This is what I unwillingly let KiA become.
    This new direction will be wonderfully received and I expect to gain 100x as many users as we lose. This out pour of support shows me that I am not alone in this. But that we can and will try to be a healthier community.
I'm sorry for all this confusion and chaos. I have trouble expressing myself and such. I'm not a very good communicator. I look forward to regaining my mod privileges so that I may affect these changes.

I am sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you on this - your initial post in r/drama has caused a lot of confusion among users and I think it’s made it hard for you to communicate your intentions. It looks like you have some extensive plans for the community and haven’t communicated with the current mod team, so it would be quite hard for you to implement when your plans have been so unclear.
My recommendation is that you make a post in r/KotakuInAction and clearly state your plans for the future of the community - I know many reddit users and moderators are very interested to hear your ideas and a post explaining your plans would go a long way toward helping move things forward. As mentioned our healthy communities guidelines do specify that we require subreddits have a “Stable and Active Teams of Moderators.” With you coming in after being inactive for almost 11 months having caused a fair amount of turmoil, we would like to see you engage with both your community and the rest of your modteam to see if you can come to a plan for moving forward.
We will be returning your posts, flair, and wiki permissions back but we will not be granting the ability to remove moderators or remove the automod rules or styling at this time. Any changes to existing community rules, many of which were put in place to ensure that KiA follows Reddit's site rules against things like harassment, doxxing, and other unwelcome content, should be carefully discussed with other moderators before you make any changes and should not just be removed. There are also serious concerns about the automod config being completely wiped out considering how well it kept PII and hate speech tamped down. Given your first step was to remove those rules and safeguards our only option for now is to prevent that via your permissions. We can reevaluate these permissions at a later date once things have settled down a bit more after your discussions with users and mods.

Thank you for your response. Most of my users and all of my mod team have lost any value for my existence. I can make a post as you requested, but I assure you it will be a bloodbath and that I will be destroyed, bullied, mock, etc. This is why I removed the mod team to begin with. I closed it so that I may change the focuse of the sub. New wiki, new mission statement etc.  some extensive plans for the community and haven’t communicated with the current mod team, so it would be quite hard for you to implement when your plans have been so unclear.
Very hard. and as I said earlier, I expect many will leave. This is a very good and wonderful thing as you will see should I make my post. These are the users I do not want to attract. My plans have been very clear in my messages I wrote to you. I ask you read through them. “Stable and Active Teams of Moderators.”
I am well stable. As for activity, I never this the community to veer of the way it did and focus on games/nerd culture and Social Justice. It's hard to participate when Get treated so awfully by the users that this has attracted. Read comments and responses to me from users and mods alike. This has become toxic and I want to fix that. So be it to say that the focus of this sub moving forward will be honesty and truth in all media's. The harassing PM is something I will pass to our trust & safety team to address.
It does still seem that you are having some trouble expressing your intentions to the community at large. Most of the general users still believe that you intended to shut down the community due to the post in r/Drama and that concerns them greatly - they are unable to see your plans beyond that.
If you do want to continue your plan to redirect the topic of the community away from gaming the users will have to be interested and they will have to understand that you were not trying to shut down the community.
Have you considered publicly making it very clear that a shut down was not the intention here? You have mentioned in comments that the post in drama was a mistake and an attempt at fun that fell flat but many people are missing that and are still confused and worried.

0.I have communicated with the current mod team and it is well evident that they despise me and will not work with me under any circumstance. They have explicitly said so.
In light of this, I ask that I remove the current mod team, and put the sub into Approved Submitter mode while I recruit a new mod team. As of now, I am the only person working on this. I spent 8 hours strait responding to users and moderators. /r/KiAMods I cannot resonablly be expected to juggle this alone in a substantive way. I will not erase any current threads or posts. I will not erase rules, mission statement, wiki, etc, but I will begin to modify them to accurately reflect the mission of the sub. I can not current do any of this while being asked to reply to 200+ comments.
Please Advise. Thanks for your help and always pragmatic and friendly responses. For now I am going to watch TV and work on an outline for that impending changes. I could do this better and much faster if I were able to recruit a new mod team. I will receive zero help from the current mods.

Here is what I have so far. A rough mission statement.
    We believe that the current standards of truth and honesty in media have deprived people from the facts. They have the means in which to create and disperse this propaganda Wether it be local, national or print, radio, or television. We have seen the ability for powerful people to keep or increase this power by outight lying to their audiences. This power is not only socio-political, but in the creations of monoplies and monolith corporations and their abilty to control. Insurance companies, Cellular providers, Google, Facebook... These companies have used their consideral power, money and influance to change laws that benifit them to the detiment of the population. We believe much of the current media is complicit in the proliferation of disinformation. We believe that people have become afraid to say no because they will lose their jobs and the hardships that increase. It's easier to stay silent when fear is involved.

I saw that another mod offered to give you the subreddit r/Ethicsinjournalism - this is a great name and much more clearly gets across you mission for your community. A completely fresh start could lead to faster growth and you’d easily be able to put in place the mod team and rules you would like to without the friction of trying to explain everything to thousands of confused users. Folks could see what it is you really want to do and you’d have a chance to prove yourself. Not having the long built up history and social dynamic of a large community gives you a ton more freedom to really build exactly what you want to.
r/KotakuInAction has a long history and the folks who subscribe there are very interested in gaming and it will likely take years of daily hard work to try to convince folks that a community named for a gaming news site is not actually about gaming.
I know you really want to get started building a vibrant community and not being bogged down trying to explain your vision to thousands of people who don’t want to cooperate. It’s important to think about how folks can find your community too - the name KotakuInAction will be confusing for new users and harder to find in searches. Ethicsinjournalism on the other hand is very clear and easy for anyone to understand.

I'll be awake for 1-3 hours. Friday night is a prime time to reduce any problems for the Admins. When you return my mod powers I will go to work. I've been here for a while and I know you will be monitoring my actions. I will not close KiA. I will only ban any users who don't follow the rules for a day after implementing them. All the comments will be untouched. These users are upset and they are voicing their opinions. I will not silence them. I may create a megathread in the future for those who wish to comment about me, or the new direction for KiA. I remind you that gaming is not banned. It is welcome. Some of the posts in the current KiA are applicable.

I haven't heard from you in almost 2 days. It's now entering day 11.
I've been working on rules, posting guidelines, Tags, etc. I will keep the Rules in place 100% until the new mod team agrees on changes and AutoModerator bot is updated accordingly.
