- Five hundred years ago, humans mysteriously vanished from the Pokemon world, leaving their monster companions behind. With the passing of time, humans drifted from the memories of the Pokemon as they developed a new, human free society, very similar to our own medieval period. Our story takes place mainly in what used to be called Unova, now called Alleos by its residents.
- 1. Regions
- With 500 years and a language barrier between them and human knowledge, the Pokemon of the new world took it upon themselves to give their home suitable names. Alleos, formerly Unova, exists in the middle of the super-continent that is the new world, acting as a hub that most Pokemon will go through in order to reach other places, but featuring a number of its own staples that visitors would stay for, though it is one of the more highly dangerous areas in the new world.
- Other regions are Kumea, a wooded, mountainous region that consists of both the Kanto and Johto areas. Wahai, Hoenn, is a sea-side region with strong connections to most sea Pokemon. Nordesy, formerly Sinnoh, is known for its colder climate and mysterious lakes. Kalos, now Etoiver, has many rivers running throughout it, and lots of ruins perfect for explorers. Mokunui, the new world name for Alola, is a remote series of islands that has very little contact with the main continent.
- 2. Ranger Teams
- Our story focuses on a newly formed Ranger Team. Ranger Teams are a group of Pokemon that take on tasks from others, helping them to the best of their ability. While Ranger Teams are a staple of all the regions in the new world, but Alleos' Ranger Teams are seen as second to none. Many warriors seek to join the pantheon of Alleos' Ranger heroes, and our team is no exception to this. The most legendary heroes are Cobalt the Cobalion, Jasper the Terrakion, and Jade the Virizion, who managed to stop several major threats from harming Alleos.
- Ranger Teams are given requests from citizens who either are having trouble with something, or are worried about something. Many threats from evil Pokemon have been stopped before they began thanks to this system. Tasks provided can range from pedestrian to incredibly dangerous, but the oath of a Ranger Team is to help all those in need, no matter what. The base is located in Litelake Town (Nimbasa City), and is run by Jasper the Terrakion.
- 3. Evertree Castle
- In the middle of Alleos stands a magnificent tree larger than any on the planet. It can be seen from across the new world, making it a massive centerpiece of the whole continent. The tree is actually naturally hollow on the inside, and has been modified into a four story castle. Many kings and queens have ruled from the castle, each chosen by their predecessor to rule. The current rulers are King Cobalt and Queen Jade. They are protected at all times by Royal Knights, former Ranger Team members that were chosen by the king and queen. Both Cobalt and Jade were knights before they became the rulers.
- The surrounding forest area of Evertree Castle is uninhabited by Pokemon, but is highly dangerous to unskilled Pokemon. Luckily, a pathway leading from the castle to Litelake protects those who want to visit the castle.
- 4. Litelake Town
- Formerly Nimbasa City, the Pokemon have taken to calling this area Litelake thanks to the beautiful lake and mysterious lights that were left behind by the humans. The area acts as a hub for many businesses, which is active at all times thanks to the amount of visitors there are. Nearly all the remnants of Nimbasa are in decay, though thanks to the cleverness of some Electric-types, they keep the neon lights running. The rusted remains of the Nimbasa Ferris wheel have been used as a large decorative gate marking the pathway to Evertree Castle, though with each year that passes it gets a little more worse for wear.
- The Ranger Center, run by Jasper, is located here as well, making this the home base of all Alleos Ranger Teams, like yourself.
- 5. Great Plains
- Formerly a massive desert, years of care for the areas have transformed it into a massive field. Hundreds of small settlements are located here, mostly consisting of farmers. Most Pokemon in the region live in the Great Plains, with its many farmers providing food to the rest of the region. There are a number of caves and ruins littered throughout the field, and some forests have even sprung up. While this has made the terrain more interesting, it also opens up a lot of danger.
- 6. Stonetower Ruins
- Once Castelia City, the capital of Unova, it has decayed to the point of being unrecognizable. The stone pillars that were once used buildings are now covered in greenery, large trees and moss having sprung up everywhere. A large number of Pokemon still live in the city, mostly Poison-types like Garbodor, but others like Timburrs and Purrloins find it just as easy as living here as they do in the fields. The city is immensely large, with lots of secrets and dangers to uncover.
- 7. Human Culture
- It s unknown why humans vanished from the face of the planet, but the Pokemon of the new world have long since stopped caring, aside from a handful of scholars. Most Pokemon are incapable of reading human writing, making books worthless to all but a very select few. It is actually not even known what humans looked like to most Pokemon, and even those that do know aren't entirely accurate about it. Functionally, humans are myths that have passed through multiple generations.
- 8. Legendary Pokemon
- Along with humans, most legendary Pokemon have completely vanished. The only remnants of the legendaries are stories and a handful of lines that have become severely less powerful over time. God-like Pokemon like Arceus are worshiped by those that believe in them, with the leading religion of each region varying. Notable surviving legendaries include Shaymin, the Swords of Justice trio, Meloette, Genesect, and Darkrai.
- 9. Crossbreeding
- During the 500 years of Pokemon ruling, new species have begun to pop up, crossbreeds between two different species of Pokemon. They have similar powers to their parent Pokemon, but are treated with a stigma that has lightened considerably over the last 200 years of their existence. While some Pokemon dislike crossbred Pokemon, the wider world at large sees them as completely normal.
- 10. Shadows
- The most mysterious thing to happen after the disappearance of humanity is the Shadows. Shadows are formless blobs formed from the negative emotions of the planet (Though most don't know or care about this fact). Shadows are formless blobs capable of great shapeshifting powers, and are capable of turning into near perfect replicas of Pokemon, only entirely pitch black. The stronger a Shadow is, the stronger the form it can take. Strong Shadows are incredibly rare, however, while weak Shadows are incredibly common. Shadows are incredibly attracted to negative energy, and Pokemon with evil hearts are even capable of controlling them.
- It is part of a Ranger Team's duty to protect civilians from Shadows, but an elite group of Pokemon dedicated to fending off the Shadows. The Shadow Hunters are some of the strongest Pokemon on the planet, their main objective being to clean the world of the Shadows in order to keep all Pokemon healthy and happy. They made their base in the ruins of the Old Chateau in Nordesy, but are seen all over the planet. Shadow Hunters usually start off as Ranger Team members before being invited to join the Shadow Hunters, though it isn't unheard of for members to pull double duty on both sides.
