  1. Current possible relay categories and runners as of night of 12/3 [NOTHING EXCEPT SONIC 1 SMS, CHAOS AND MAYBE 2 SMS IS SET IN STONE YET]:

  4. 2 Genesis: Either Knuckles any% (aleck47 vs Zurggriff), Knuckles any% Genesis (Aleck47) vs werster (ios), or sonic any% Aleck47 (Genesis) vs werster (ios)
  5. 3k: Up in the air, most offered choices are just sonic any% (Aleck vs chonkal) hoping we can get offers for other categories
  6. Sonic CD: Most likely will be Sonic AGF 2011 (Madtaz64 (hey that's me!!!!!)) vs Tails AGF 2011 (FlyingFox) (Werster is no longer able to offer CD 93 AGF)
  7. Sonic 1 SMS: 100% (8bitbeast vs Maman_)
  8. Sonic 2 SMS: Best Ending (Finalflame vs Flyingfox, backup Werster)
  9. Chaos: Sonic Beat the Game (KickassPancakes vs Boog2theman)
  10. Sonic Triple Trouble: up in the air if it'll happen, possible sonic vs tails race w/ Zurgriff vs Flyingfox? (though no offense, looked at the pb comparison and I might end up tagging/bothering people w/ better times if possible, assuming we could get enough guaranteed coverage for tt in the first place)
  11. Mania: Sonic Solo All Emeralds (Zaxon vs ShastaGuy) and/or Knuckles & Knuckles All Emeralds (Raikou vs Argick) Might be done twice, once at the beginning once at the end

  18. Alright, so me and a few other runners have had a couple ideas for the relay stirring in our heads, and I wanna pour my ideas all out here and see what ya'll think. First one is a pretty big one, I was thinking maybe it might be a better idea of instead of it being a standard relay race where we have one runner start once another one ends, maybe having it go by a point system (or not adding points up at all and everyone wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). A couple reasons why I think this might be the best course of action here.

  20. 1) I feel like that it'd be pretty hard to balance teams out since some games have very few runners, especially if we do include 8-bit games like was suggested.

  22. 2) One idea I've always wanted to see happen with a Sonic CD marathon run is to have different categories ran side by side to showcase how seemingly similar yet different both categories are. Especially if we were able to do a 2011 vs 93 race that'd be tight. Anyways, I mention that because I would also think that it'd be cool to have that be a recurring ”””theme””” throughout our relay, so not only do we showcase multiple runners but just how varied each game and its community is and at the same time show how connected we are or some sappy shit like that.

  24. Even though I just mentioned the word theme, don't feel like every game HAS to fit a theme. It'd be nice to see some of them fit that theme but well, it's really up to what the runners of each individual game wanna see. Although I (and I think a lot of us in the chat who spammed chat discussing this last night agreed) am hoping to see the categories chosen be more then just “Sonic any%” for the most part, as that seems to almost always be the default option, and there was a big Generations themed relay over the summer that was all Sonic any%.

I didn't think up any 8-bit categories because honestly I don't really know much about them (one day I'll play them probably) but a lot of them should hopefully give a better idea of what I meant in point 2) above. (note: NO I'M NOT SAYING YOU HAVE TO DO THESE CATEGORIES GUYS. I just think they would be cool to see):
