  1. [22:36] <&GeMshuku> THE YEAR IS 20XX
  2. [22:36] <&GeMshuku> Regrettably, everyone doesn't play Purin, but just Fox.

  4. [22:42] * Sakata_Ginko wanders into the park she frequented during the days after her parents' death in a daze. It didn't make any sense, the circumstances of her teacher's--Simply thinking about it brought tears to her eyes. She fondled the pockets of her uniform for a 500-yen coin, pushed it into the nearby vending machine for a can of strawberry milk, only to have the machine sputter and buzz as the package lodged its
  5. [22:42] * Sakata_Ginko elf between the spring and the glass.
  6. [22:43] * Sakata_Ginko kicked the machine hard, but the package didn't dislodge. Sighing, she walked toward the nearby bench and sat down, head facing the sky.
  7. [22:53] <&GeMshuku> In the city of Mae, located on an island reigon in what might be the year 2015, this kind of occurence was becoming more and more common. Deaths, unexplainable, kept occuring. It was a mystery, yet save for those effected by the deaths directly, largely ignored, and generally not an issue. Widescale destruction was placed in a similar position, largely ignored, and generally not an issue. Absurd? Perhaps, but no one ever really batted an eye. It was in this strange city that a tsukaima would visit people's houses in order to recruit magical girls, but today, something strange happened. Today, it found one alone in the park! ...And alone for a distance too. ...Is this place...hm. This is still fine.
  8. [22:53] <&GeMshuku> In this place, Sakata Ginko would hear a voice that resonates through her head, and yet also heard from the bench beside her, coming from a strange white rabbit with a gear in its head. A voice that said "Excuse me, may I have a moment?".
  9. [22:55] * Sakata_Ginko turned her head around toward the rabbit. "Huh," she rubbed her eyes and wiped her cheeks dry. "First, that happens, and now I'm seeing things," she muttered to herself. "I should really go to a therapist and get myself checked out... but I just spent my last 500 yen."
  10. [23:04] <&GeMshuku> It sighs, and continues! "You are not experiencing hallucinations. I am very real. ...Normally I come to people specifically, but today is also looking to be quite strange, for it seems you're compatible as well. ...But I get ahead of myself." ...Strangely enough, if you didn't have a headache before, you do now. "Tell me, what do you think about the situation of the city you are in? People missing, buildings destroyed, and yet people do not give it much more than a passing thought." ...This may not entirely be the case for you, specifically, but it's hard to ignore that other people's reactions have been a hell of a lot less panicky than they could have been! ...And even you certainly haven't thought about the deaths of anyone else, or the property damage. ...But yet, now, it's becoming very, very clear. Why haven't you? Why hasn't anyone?
  11. [23:06] <Sakata_Ginko> "......" A moment of silence from Ginko. In her mind, dots connect into lines, and then into shapes. "Do you have something to do with it?" A pointed question, with barely concealed hostility. "I'm cranky right now because I haven't had my fix. You better hope for your sake that you don't piss me off."
  12. [23:10] <&GeMshuku> "You sound hostile. The answer is yes, but not in the way that you seem to be thinking!" A-ah, it's got a live one! The rabbit seems to sweat, just a little bit. "The things actually responsible for these things are called youma, dangerous beasts that have been appearing in the city as of late who's only aim seems to be destruction and death. Things that have the power to make normal beings overlook their actions, no matter how blatant they might be."
  13. [23:15] <Sakata_Ginko> The glare from Ginko seemed to relax somewhat, but it was still sharp as a knife: "And you're saying they're running free in the city? But why here? Why now? Why--" She stopped for a moment, swallowing a word, before continuing after a small sigh: "You know it's a weird day when a rabbit talks back to me, and I'm somehow beginning to believe what it says."

  17. [23:24] <&GeMshuku> Oddly enough, it responds with an amused and affirmative tone. "It is, isn't it? Normally, this gets shaken off, and people run away to their parents and whatnot, not exactly the best position for me, but somehow, people are starting to listen to me more often. Perhaps things aren't as grave as they once were...but yet." It shifts to a serious tone! "Things are still pretty grave. Youma terrorize this town, and only magical girls can fight against them, or even recognize them as a threat!"
  18. [23:24] <&GeMshuku> "Normally this would be where I say I've come to you in order to give you an opportunity to recognize and fight this, but...well, I suppose I'm still doing that, aren't I? Just under different circumstances."

  20. [23:27] <Sakata_Ginko> Ginko's eyelids drooped upon hearing the creature's response. She stretched a little, then stood up toward the vending machine. Taking a deep breath, she gave the vending machine's side a spinning kick! The poor metal bucket clattered and shook as her leg bounced off of its side; at the same time, the soft pink Tetrapak of strawberry milk shook itself loose from the spring's nefarious grasp.
  21. [23:29] <Sakata_Ginko> Looking pleased, Ginko picked it up from the slot at the bottom of the machine and started drinking it, letting out a long sigh of contentment as the sweet liquid travelled down her neck. "Well, I didn't spend that 500 yen for nothing, I guess," she remarked rather nonchalantly, spinning around to face the creature. "So, I get to be a heroine fighting against an invisible evil under the disguise of a normal
  22. [23:29] <Sakata_Ginko> highschool girl. Is that it?"
  23. [23:31] <&GeMshuku> "That sounds about right! However, you would have to earn that heroine title through more than just fighting, as fighting youma alone has become impossible, as they've become quite powerful. As such, if you want the title of heroine, you'd probably have to stand out very well!"
  24. [23:32] <&GeMshuku> "But fighting an invisible evil under the disguise of a normal highschool girl...that is about right!"
  25. [23:35] <Sakata_Ginko> "So I don't get to be heroine," Ginko leaned against the lamp post beside the vending machine and took a long dreg of the strawberry milk. "And it sounds like you already have mini--other girls under your control. So, why me? And more importantly, would I have a reason to go along with your ploy?"
  26. [23:39] <&GeMshuku> "Not all girls have the power to become magical girls. Some just don't have the touch. Considering the amount of people we can let help us is limited to a small percentage of the population, limited further by these strange circumstances, and with the youma threat growing by the day, we need all the help we can get. As for your reason...I don't know who you are, and as this entire meeting has taken me by surprise, I wouldn't have had the chance to find out. But I would imagine you are at least worried now that you actually recognize the threat to this city as a threat."
  27. [23:40] <&GeMshuku> "If you'll recall, I said only magical girls can recognize this threat. But yet, you are not one. This is simply because I am here. If I leave, this effect will wear off, and it will all be lost into the haze of your mind again!"
  28. [23:41] <Sakata_Ginko> "Let me put this in a way that you can understand me." The empty Tetrapak box was making the gurgling sound as Ginko sucked the remaining liquid out of it. "What "
  29. [23:41] <Sakata_Ginko> "Let me put this in a way that you can understand me." The empty Tetrapak box was making the gurgling sound as Ginko sucked the remaining liquid out of it. "What's in it for me? And at the same time, what's in it for you?"
  30. [23:45] <&GeMshuku> "...Ah, I forgot a detail. This isn't normally as regular of a situation, I seem to be forgetting things. What's in it for me? Your survivals, and the youma's deaths. Not exactly something we'd like to have running around. What's in it for you? As it turns out, as the youma have been getting stronger, they've started to drop objects we've dubbed Oblivion Seeds. ...There are multiple tsukaima--that's what I am--and one of us can use 13 of these seeds in order to grant a wish!"
  31. [23:46] <&GeMshuku> "...Most wishes work, some don't. Wishing the youma away doesn't work, much to our displeasure."
  32. [23:49] <Sakata_Ginko> "So, I'm in it for a wish every 13 drops, and you're in it for... what, world peace and happiness?" Ginko arched an eyebrow as she crushed the Tetrapak in her hands. With one carefully aimed shot, she put it into the garbage bin beside the bench--but in the compost bin instead of the recycle bin. "Sounds reasonable," she noted sarcastically. "Of course, you left out the part where I get to put my life on th
  33. [23:49] <Sakata_Ginko> e line, where you look for replacements when I kick the bucket, but it's all good."
  34. [23:52] <&GeMshuku> "It's less 'world peace and happiness', and more 'everyone not being dead and the whole place turning into a featureless husk of rock, dirt, and water, where nothing happens', but yes! Of course, you would probably have to figure out what you're doing with the seeds, as you can only really fight them in a group. On the bright side, some have been known to drop more than one, so there's that going for you!"
  35. [23:53] <&GeMshuku> "Really, the putting your life on the line is implied. About when I say that they're too dangerous to fight alone, in fact!" It seems...indignant. Huh.
  36. [23:54] <Sakata_Ginko> "Yup. Doesn't sound like a bad deal for me at all." More sarcasm. She stretched. "During the last physical, the school nurse said I'm on the verge of developing diabetes, so I guess there's my motivation," Ginko put her hands on her hips and scratched her head with a light sigh. "I'm assuming there's something I have to read and sign? Somehow I feel like I'm about to sell myself to something."
  37. [23:56] <&GeMshuku> ...Huh. "This also turns away some of them. This also makes our job harder! That said, if you're still sure regardless, all you have to do is agree to becoming a magical girl, without any question as to your agreement, as that's the only way that I can make this work. Then you relax, close your eyes, and take a deep breath."
  38. Session Time: Tue May 19 00:00:01 2015
  39. [00:01] <Sakata_Ginko> "Well, I don't see how this makes my situation any worse." Ginko walked to about 1 foot in front of the creature. She had no home to go back to, nor did she want to go back to her Teacher's place. It reminded Ginko too much of her. "You sure you didn't want a paper trail? On second thought, it's probably hard to back out of it if I get second thoughts, huh?"
  40. [00:02] <Sakata_Ginko> She took a deep breath and let it out audibly. Then she did it again. "Second thoughts. It's not something I've had often," she muttered, half to himself and half to the creature. "What's your name?"
  41. [00:04] <&GeMshuku> "You could probably wish yourself back to normal, were you ever so inclined! No need for a paper trail. My name is Fate. Yours?"
  42. [00:05] <Sakata_Ginko> "Fate, huh," she mused for a moment at the irony of the name. "Sakata Ginko." She closed her eyes and took a sharp inhale, a small smile curling up her lips. "So, here goes."
  43. [00:12] <&GeMshuku> ...Hm. That should do. Sakata's eyes are closed, and even if she were to attempt to open them, she would find herself unable! The gear on Fate's head begins to glow! Of course, with her eyes closed, it's barely noticable, but it begins to glow brighter and brighter! It becomes visible through her's eyelids, and then it almost becomes blindingly so! It reaches a point where it would be not unlike staring into the sun with her eyes open...before immediately ceasing, and Sakata regaining control over her own eyelids once more! "It is done, you are now a magical girl!"
  44. [00:15] <Sakata_Ginko> "oww." the residue the blinding light scorched onto her retina didn't completely wear off as Ginko opened her eyes again. Through the flashing of false colors she observed her surroundings, though the false colors wore off fairly quickly. "So, that's it?" She flexed her arms and legs a little. "I don't feel any different."
  45. [00:18] <&GeMshuku> Surprisingly, the recovery is even faster than you'd think, even compared to what one would consider fast! "That's it. Of course, you're not actually a full magical girl capable of fighting the youma until you transform, but even as you are, you're capable of very, very minor magical feats, as well as the ability to recognize youma and overcome their mental fog. As for actually transforming, that is a thing that comes naturally. Generally, it requires focus and willpower!"
  46. [00:21] <Sakata_Ginko> "So, what, I have to yell out some cutesy words and shout 'transform' to change into a magical girl?" Ginko flexed her body a bit more, including a spinkick that only found air. "I've read that stuff on Shonen Jump, y'know; it's not like I'm a complete idiot, but it just seems like such a bother."
  47. [00:23] <&GeMshuku> "You...don't seem like the type inclined for that sort of thing, so that probably wouldn't be it." It gets a distant look for a moment, but returns its focus. "You seem to be someone that has sense, so perhaps focusing strongly and desiring to transform would result in what you're after in a quick timeframe!"
  48. [00:24] <Sakata_Ginko> "Ah, I feel my energy just being sapped away by this nonsense," Ginko yawned again, and felt her pocket once more with as much success as she expected. "If I could conjure up some sweets right now, that'd be really nice..."
  49. [00:25] <Sakata_Ginko> "I'm probably asking for too much, now, aren't I?" She muttered, raising her hands in front of her face and looked at them. They didn't seem to be different from before. "My power is probably some cutesy flowery bullshitty powers, if Jump manga is any reference point."
  50. [00:27] <&GeMshuku> "There have been magical girls known to shoot lasers, create improbably strong barriers, and other such fantastical things. If you want a reference point, you can use yourself. Corny, but accurate!"
  51. [00:30] * Jian_Wen is now known as Extra
  52. [00:30] <Sakata_Ginko> "Meh," Ginko shrugged. "Guess I'll focus or something. Man, this is a pain." She closed her eyes and grunted as if she were exerting some efforts while... uh, taking care of her business.
  53. [00:33] <Sakata_Ginko> A box appeared around her. No, box isn't the right way to put it; it looked more like a quart-tub of strawberry-flavored Haagen Dazs ice cream, with all the labels and nutrition content to go with it. One particular thing about the nutritional content was that the sugar content was marked at 100000% of daily intake, and that was about the only thing interesting with the tub. It shook and shuddered for a mom
  54. [00:33] <Sakata_Ginko> ent, and then it disintegrated in a puff of pink, sweet-smelling smoke!
  55. [00:35] <Sakata_Ginko> Ginko emerged, reeking of the smell of artificial strawberries, dairy and most importantly, sugar. She looked at her newly transformed clothing and the bokuto on her waist. Then, her shoulder sagged. "That's it?" She remarked, looking somewhat disdainfully at the blue-and-white kimono she wore. "Kind of disappointing, if you ask me."
  56. [00:38] <&GeMshuku> "...Some ARE flashier, I suppose. But, you have a power that no mortal thing can stand against, and I would imagine using that would be less disappointing! And you seem to come with your own smell, too!" Bright sides!
  57. [00:40] <Sakata_Ginko> "Yeah, thanks for pointing out the fact that I actually smell like a strawberry sundae." Sarcasm seemed the best tool for the situation. She pulled out her bokuto and swung it a couple of times. "I don't get a wand, either?"
  58. [00:43] <&GeMshuku> "You don't need one!" To the point, then! "You can use magic without a wand, and your weapon is...much stronger than it would appear to be! You can use it as a focus to fire things, if you're comfortable with that."
  59. [00:45] <Sakata_Ginko> "Huh." She focused with a grunt, and sure enough an arc of air came out from the tip of her swing as the blade glowed a sickly sweet pink. "You're not kidding." She put back her bokuto and glanced around. Fortunately the park was rather deserted. "This whole Magical Girl business is... well, about as glamorous as I expected, anyway."
  60. [00:47] <Sakata_Ginko> She walked over to the bench and sank down on it, almost sitting onto Fate's, uh, tail. "I really want something sweet..." With that thought, something hard bonked her on the head. "Ow." She picked it up: it was a lollipop, still in its clear plastic wrapper. "Where'd that come from?" She muttered to herself, but candy is candy and she wasn't going to complain.
  61. [00:48] <&GeMshuku> "...Huh. A strange power, but I don't think you would complain."
  62. [00:50] <Sakata_Ginko> "You mean, I summoned that?" Ginko's voice was a bit muffled. After all, she has a large lollipop stuck in her mouth. She focused again. BONK! And surely, another lollipop knocked her on her head. Then another, and then it was as if someone emptied a bucket of candy on top of her. She was buried in them along with half her bench. "Yeah, I guess so," she sighed and shook free of the smorgasbord of candy. "Th
  63. [00:50] <Sakata_Ginko> at solves my sugar problem, all right."
  64. [00:56] * Extra (kvirc@gensoukyoueasternstory.net-D5B6CC11.socal.res.rr.com) Quit (Quit: KVIrc 4.2.0 Equilibrium http://www.kvirc.net/)
  65. [00:57] <&GeMshuku> Fate inches his way out of the partial avalanche that had also fallen on it, as well! "That said, one would ask how you could easily meet another group when being a magical girl is supposed to be a secret, but there's an answer to that as well. No one enters the town square at around 4 PM, thanks to a youma attack that has since been quelled, and nothing else save magical girls and the tsukaima have ever went there since. A perfect gathering spot!"
  66. [00:59] <Sakata_Ginko> "Huh." Ginko rose from the pile of candies and eyed it over before looking around for any container but failing to find any. "Well, I guess I'll just summon them again," she concluded as she pocketed some larger pieces. Then, she turned to Fate: "There I meet other prosti--partners whose body you bought with the promises of candy, and then we go out and fight like a happy band of friends until something val
  67. [00:59] <Sakata_Ginko> uable drops. Then we take out six-sided dice and roll for loot. That sounds about right?"
  68. [01:01] <&GeMshuku> "Some are less inclined to dice than others. But yes, that's the gist of it!"
  69. [01:03] <Sakata_Ginko> "Yeah. Because everyone wants to fight to the death over a couple pieces of loot," Ginko concluded. She tries to take off her kimono, only to find it puffing into pink smoke, leaving behind her regular school uniform. "Huh. That's one way to remove my, uh, transformation. I don't suppose you can find me a place to stay over night?" She mused toward Fate, having no expectation at all in her voice.

  72. [01:10] <&GeMshuku> "Some are actually in it for the saving people thing. Others are more inclined to fighting something off so it won't over run and kill them later. Most have a wish, though, so that still rings true. ...And, a place to stay?" Fate puts things together. ...If that, then that, then that...ah. "...Apologies for any ill-placed comments. A place to stay...something can be arranged, but on such short notice, you'll have to do what you've been doing for a while longer."
  73. [01:13] <Sakata_Ginko> "..." A moment of silence from Ginko. "Well, sleeping on the streets is nothing new to me; I'll make do, I guess." Another word was on her lips, but she swallowed it: "I guess I'll thank you when I get rid of this whole diabetes thing."
  74. [01:18] <&GeMshuku> "Fair enough. ...Then, I'll be off, unless you have further questions?"
  75. [01:19] <Sakata_Ginko> "Nah. Guess I'll head over to the square at 4PM tomorrow." Ginko lay on the bench, still sucking on the lollipop.
  76. [01:21] <&GeMshuku> "I'll see you there, then!" Success! It hops off the bench, and proceeds to hop away...in a different direction from whence it came!
  77. [01:22] <Sakata_Ginko> "Mm." Ginko grunted an acknowledgement. Then, her thoughts drifted off elsewhere as she shifted on the bench and stared at the sky.
