- A new clue to the whereabouts of a lost treasure rekindles a married couple's sense of adventure -- and their estranged romance.
- Benjamin Finnegan is a deep-sea treasure hunter certain he's onto the find of the century in waters near an island close to Key West owned by a murderous rap star to whom Ben is in debt. Ben's flat broke and recently divorced from Tess, his long-time research and diving partner whom he still loves. She's nearby, working as a steward aboard the yacht of Nigel Honeycutt, a multimillionaire. The rapper has hired a rival treasurer hunter. Can Ben convince Nigel to bankroll his search, convince Tess to work with him, keep the rapper and his thugs at bay, and find a Spanish treasure hidden for centuries and rich beyond imagination?
- I was very disappointed with Fool's Gold. While I enjoyed seeing several of my favorite actors, I think the characters they portrayed were shallow, boring, and generally not funny. The character Gem was hard to take and didn't seem to fit into the context of the story at all. <br/><br/>The plot didn't seem to bring anything new that I hadn't seen many times before and the storyline, at times, was just plain boring. I found myself wondering when it was going to be over. I found the editing awkward at times and certainly think that the movie could have been much shorter. Save yourself a dime and skip this one.
- I just came from a screening, one of the first I think, for this film and I have to tell you it was one of the most enjoyable movies that I have seen in quite a while. The cast was flawless, and the performance given by Donald Sutherland was a treat! It was funny, it was witty, and the comedic timing and chemistry between Matt McConaughey and Kate Hudson was delightful. The action scenes were realistic but believable and the location of the film was breathtaking. I would recommend this film to people of all ages, and it was for sure NOT a chick flick. I plan on going again with my husband once it hits the theatres. Job well done to all!
