  6. Okay, here it is! Complete! Unauthorized! Untamed! Uncalled for!

  13. Version 4.0 (Final Version)
  14.
  15. INTRO:
  16.
  17. Sometime in February of '95, Scott Tengelin started a thread on this
  18. newsgroup involving hidden characters in FF3, which were made up.
  19. Since there are so many people out there who have done everything
  20. there is to do in FF3, yet still enjoy the game, the thread became
  21. rather popular. People not only came up with ideas for secret hidden
  22. characters, but also places to get to from other video games and
  23. exciting new endings. I posted to the thread and suggested that
  24. someone make up a Bogus FAQ, which would include all this humorous
  25. and exciting stuff. Then I decided, what the heck, why not me?
  26. Scott and I gathered up all the stuff we'd saved from the thread's
  27. postings, and I organized it, forming a 17K file, and posted it.
  28. Lots of people posted more ideas to the thread and some sent me ideas
  29. directly, so I continued to add them in, all the while organizing,
  30. improving, editing, and adding lots more stuff. In addition to the
  31. original version, I posted Version 2 (45K), Version 2.5 (56K),
  32. Version 3.0 (73K), and Version 3.5 (95 freakin' K), as well as this
  33. version, which is about that size. This is, in theory, the final
  34. version of the FAQ (Version 4.0), and I'm finishing it up because it
  35. takes waaaaaay too much time to write and edit one of these things.
  36. (Though I am planning to hang on to it so I can repost or send copies
  37. by request.) I'd like to thank everyone I've listed under the
  38. writers/ compilers section for sending me ideas to improve stuff and
  39. more entries, mostly for the Hidden Characters section. (I'd also
  40. like to be thanked (or thank me) for fitting all this stuff in and
  41. putting it together, fixing all or most of the spelling mistakes, and
  42. adding a lot of neat stuff to some of the endings, even though it all
  43. was, at least to a certain extent, a labor of love.) Anyway, if you
  44. see mistakes in the FAQ or anything, you can still write me at
  45. comberia@wam.umd.edu so I can have them fixed in any repost or copies
  46. I send out. I'd also like to hear comments about what you liked or
  47. didn't like about this FAQ, so go ahead and send them. Again, I'm
  48. not planning to add more new stuff or make any more big revisions;
  49. this file is really long and really complex already. (In fact it
  50. takes an hour or two just to read through it, let alone edit it.)
  51. Well, without further ado, the final version of The Completely Bogus
  52. Final Fantasy III FAQ!!:
  53.
  54.
  55. HIDDEN CHARACTERS:
  56.
  57. Ultros: Take the Cross to the Colosseum. Bet the Fireball (don't
  58. worry;you'll get it back) and you will fight Ultros. He'll only
  59. join you after thebattle _if_ you have the Cross.
  60.
  61. ULTROS: "Blue... eight arms... sharp teeth... a smelly octopus with a
  62. heart of gold."
  63.
  64. Ultros's commands are:
  65. Fight
  66. Magic
  67. Tentacle
  68. Ink
  69. Item
  70.
  71. Low HP attack: X-Tentacles (Tentacles surround the enemy and attack
  72. it.)
  73.
  74.
  75. Kefka: To get Kefka to join your party, use the Illumina Sword on the
  76. GemBox; it'll break open and reveal the Amulet of True Light. Kefka
  77. willsuddenly appear in front of you, repent for all he has done, and
  78. head off to your airship.
  79.
  80. KEFKA: "Once a follower of the dark, now a student of light. His
  81. laughstrikes terror in all."
  82.
  83. Kefka's Commands are (to start):
  84. Y-Fight
  85. X-Magic
  86. Special
  87. Twin
  88. Item
  89.
  90. Y-Fight is similar to X-Magic; Kefka attacks once with a regular
  91. blow, then attacks with a special weapon, which Muddles, Poisons, or
  92. Dooms an enemy. Special makes Kefka attack with Grand Chorus, which
  93. gives all enemies a random status change such as death and quartr.
  94.
  95. If you have Kefka and Kakef together in the same party, they can use
  96. the Twin attack. First, it rains 2 X-Meteos on the enemy party, then
  97. it does a spell similar to Merton, and finally it casts a spell
  98. similar to Ultima. Unless _both_ twins have the Economizer equipped,
  99. the spell costs them each 200 MP.
  100.
  101. Kefka's status screen contains these hidden attacks/ special
  102. abilities:
  103. Call (randomly calls one of the 3 statues to attack enemies)
  104. Havok Wing
  105. Laugh
  106. Rage
  107. SwdTech
  108. KefkaWave (similar to a Dark Knight's "Darkness" attack)
  109. Light of Judgement
  110. LeoZ (Kefka briefly morphs into Gen. Leo and does Shock.)
  111.
  112. Laugh makes all enemies mindless slaves, and they either join you or
  113. fight themselves for the rest of the battle. He uses this
  114. automatically in the Colosseum against party members you find there.
  115.
  116. When you use the Light of Judgement, all targets take 9999 damage
  117. regardless. Unfortunately, this only works inside towers.
  118.
  119. Kefka's X-Magic spells include:
  120. Fallen One
  121. Moo: Kefka turns opponents into cows.
  122. You Lose: Doom spell for the whole enemy group.
  123. Double: Kefka gets 2 turns, every turn, for the rest of the battle.
  124.
  125. Kefka's Rages include:
  126. Fighter: Powerful Pearl attack.
  127. Bl.Belt: Multiple hits, not Magic related.
  128. B.Mage: Does random Black spell from FF1.
  129. W.Mage: Does random White spell from FF1.
  130. Thief: Steals with a success rate of 100%.
  131. R.Mage: Does totally random spell from FF1.
  132.
  133. Kefka's SwdTechs are as follows:
  134. Havok wing is Swdtech 9.
  135. Revenger is Swdtech 10.
  136. Kefka's Laugh is Swdtech 11.
  137. Grand Chorus (also Kefka's Special attack) is Swdtech 12.
  138. SwdTech 13 is a Dummy SwdTech, because it's been dummied out of the
  139. game.
  140. KefkaBolt is Swdtech 14. It's like AuraBolt, but it does 9999 damage
  141. 8 times.
  142. There is also an unnumbered SwdTech called God!. Kefka can learn it
  143. if you shoot the Black Gun at the White Gun.
  144.
  145. Low HP attack: Magittack (Kefka dons Magitek armor and attacks all
  146. enemies.)
  147.
  148. Note: If Kefka joins your party, it obviously changes the ending.
  149. You can still get the Sabin ending, the GoneGone ending, or the M.
  150. Bison ending, but you can't get the Erdrick ending. However, if you
  151. don't try to get any of these you'll just end up with the
  152. Espers-Don't-Die Ending, and you'll win after you kill the third tier
  153. of the Final Boss. (This is quite a letdown, but it's an easier way
  154. to get the Espers-Don't-Die Ending.)
  155.
  156.
  157. Kakef: (Kefka's good twin) You get Kakef on Gau's father's roof, but
  158. you have to have Cyan or Celes fix his chair first. There will be a
  159. BIG reunion scene if you put him and Kefka in a party together.
  160.
  161. KAKEF: "Is he familiar? A stranger? Or just another brother of
  162. another character? Who can say?"
  163.
  164. Kakef's commands are:
  165. Fight
  166. Disappear (only with Invisibility Ring)
  167. Magic
  168. Twin
  169. Item
  170.
  171. Disappear works outside of battle, too. Kakef is highly vulnerable
  172. against magic after disappearing, but he can walk through walls
  173. inside castles and some caves.
  174.
  175. Low HP attack: Storm (Similar to Fallen One; Kakef knocks an enemy
  176. down to less than ten hit points.)
  177.
  178. Note: Depending on which ending you get, Kakef may or may not
  179. actually be an imposter. (See the Ultra Combo ending.)
  180.
  181.
  182. Cid: Put Locke and Kefka in a party together, then go to the Solitary
  183. Island and talk to Cid. You'll fight Ol' Grandad. Have Locke Steal,
  184. and you will get the Razor. Cid will grow facial hair, change his
  185. clothes, and learn the Peep command. He will then admit to building
  186. the airships and blow himself up. Go to the Dwarven underground and
  187. find him by the nurse.
  188.
  189. CID: "Technology is his servant, machines are his voice in the
  190. world."
  191.
  192. Cid's commands are:
  193. Fight
  194. Peep
  195. Repair (sort of like Health, but it works much better on machines
  196. thanpeople.)
  197. Item
  198.
  199. Low HP attack: Mecha Drop (Cid morphs into a cybernetic creature and
  200. Suplexes an enemy.)
  201.
  202.
  203. Baram: Use the Vanish-Fire28 (learned from Siggy Esper) trick on
  204. Intangir to knock him out. While he's unconscious use the Holy
  205. Scissors to remove his mask (mentioned in the Book of Secrets). It's
  206. Baram! If Shadow is in the party, he'll agree to join you as soon as
  207. you feed him 22 pieces of coral. If you sleep at an inn with Baram
  208. in your party, he has four different fantasy dreams about Mog.
  209.
  210. BARAM: "He comes and goes like the wind. His name is known, but his
  211. past is hidden."
  212.
  213. Baram's commands are:
  214. Fight
  215. Mock (becomes Insult when equipped with Paladin Loafers)
  216. Steal (he's a thief, remember)
  217. Item
  218.
  219. The Mock command contains 12 insults which Baram learns with
  220. level-ups. You can change it to Insult if you equip him with the
  221. Paladin Loafers, which increases its power.
  222.
  223.
  224. Low HP attack: Red Spiller (Baram jumps at the enemy and attacks with
  225. aknife; similar to Celes's Spin Edge)
  226.
  227.
  228. Ken, Ryu, Jax, Akuma:
  229. (Hard way): If you take Relm into the Colosseum and bet the Black
  230. Belt, you get Ken. But if you take Celes and do the same thing, you
  231. get Ryu. Jax appears in the cheap seats of the Colosseum after you
  232. bet the RealMustache; you can fight him if you bet the Scorpion Doll.
  233. To convince Jax to join you, send Kefka in when you bet the Scorpion
  234. Doll, he'll use his Laugh command and Jax will join you. Akuma is
  235. also sitting in the stands, four rows down and two seats over from
  236. Jax. He'll challenge you to a Hadoken contest in the Colosseum if
  237. you use Ryu as your fighter and bet the Purple Belt. Win, and he
  238. joins you.
  239.
  240. (Easy way): Go to the Colosseum with Cid in your party. Bet a weak
  241. item to make Chupon appear. The fighter will get sneezed out of the
  242. arena. Bet another weak item and fight Chupon again. (Remember, you
  243. _want_ to be sneezed.) Finally, after five tries of this, Cid gets
  244. disgusted and makessome cold medicine. (It turns out Chupon only
  245. had a cold! That's why he's been sneezing!) Send Cid into the arena
  246. after he says he's made the medicine, and he'll give it to Chupon
  247. automatically. Chupon will be so grateful, he will become Cid's best
  248. buddy, and he'll give Cid a big wet kiss. Ken, Ryu, Jax, and Akuma
  249. will become so angry at the whole business that they'll destroy the
  250. Colosseum and then join your party. (BTW, take Edgar and Cid into
  251. the ruined Colosseum, and they'll rebuild it, also adding a trap door
  252. which leads to the Esper Street Fight Arena.)
  253.
  254. KEN and RYU: "A street fighter with an attitude... Shoryuuuuuu...
  255. KEN!"
  256.
  257. Ken & Ryu's commands are:
  258. Punch
  259. Kick
  260. Shoryuken
  261. Hadoken (only when equipped with Fireball)
  262. Item
  263.
  264. Low HP attacks: Super Combo (Just like their super combos, of course.
  265. Works with either Punch or Kick.)
  266.
  267.
  268. JAX: "An interdimensional cop, ready to stop all who break the law."
  269.
  270. Jax's commands are:
  271. Fight
  272. Fatality (sort of like Doom, either it kills or it misses)
  273. Ground Slam (hits all enemies on the ground)
  274. Wave
  275. Item
  276.
  277. Low HP attack: Gotcha Grab (Same as in MK2, but always hits 4 times.)
  278.
  279.
  280. AKUMA: "Perhaps just another powerful warrior, perhaps the devil
  281. himself."
  282.
  283. Akuma's commands are:
  284. Fight
  285. Uncurse (works outside battle too)
  286. Mimic (particularly effective with Ryu or Ken)
  287. Item
  288.
  289. Low HP attack: Devil's Grin (The screen turns white and you see giant
  290. eyesand a mouth appear vaguely. You then hear Kefka's laugh, and
  291. the screen returns tonormal. Hits all enemies.)
  292.
  293.
  294. Jago: If Sabin or GoneGone becomes the last guy, you'll be able to
  295. get Jago. (His purpose and location will depend on which last guy it
  296. is.)
  297. Sabin Ending: You'll find Jago meditating on the top of Mt. Zozo.
  298. Jago can get you straight to Sabin from anywhere in Sabin's Tower
  299. with his spin kick. Just get in a fight and have Jago cast Hangon.
  300. Then have Jago Spin. Poof! You're at Sabin (after a nifty cinema of
  301. flying by everything in the tower).
  302. GoneGone Ending: Since you must be in the W.O.B., you'll find Jago
  303. meditating on the top of Mt. Koltz. Jago can get you straight to
  304. GoneGone from anywhere in the W.O.B. with his spin kick. In fact,
  305. this is the only known way to reach GoneGone (except through the
  306. Ultra Combo ending).
  307.
  308. JAGO: "One combo-bustin' ninja with a serious attitude!"
  309.
  310. Jago's commands are:
  311. Fight
  312. Combo (gets anywhere from 3 to 35 hits)
  313. Spin Kick (instantly go to the boss of the area you're in)
  314. Item
  315.
  316. Low HP attack: Car Drop (Jago sits down and meditates, then a car
  317. falls onone enemy.)
  318.
  319.
  320. Luigi: Luigi is sitting on the third level of the Ancient Castle,
  321. before you find Porom and Palom. Talk to him, and he'll stop eating
  322. his pasta and join you. There is also a Dark Luigi, which you can
  323. find and defeat in Wario's Castle in WarioLand.
  324.
  325. Porom and Palom: They're standing in the Third level of the Ancient
  326. Castle(the switch is 8 steps south of the King's throne). If you
  327. talk to them, they say something about a time warp. (They don't join
  328. your party.) If you take the path on the right in the time machine,
  329. you'll end up at the Mario search game, Mario is Missing. If you
  330. take the road on the left instead, you'll see Cecil's greatgrandson,
  331. who will give you a clue about finding Cecil. (He says that
  332. gathering all the Paladin equipment will summon Cecil, and that Cecil
  333. will be waiting for you in the Colosseum.) Farther along the left
  334. path is the entrance to Baron in the Overworld of FF2.
  335.
  336. Mario: After you find Luigi, you will be able to play Mario is
  337. Missing. At the end, you will have Mario (duh).
  338.
  339. MARIO: "A star in his own right, a plumber with power and an
  340. attitude."
  341.
  342. LUIGI: "A koopa-stomping plumber with an appetite for pasta!"
  343.
  344. Mario and Luigi's commands are:
  345. Stomp
  346. Fireball (only if Fireball is equipped, of course)
  347. Jump (also breaks ceilings)
  348. Item
  349.
  350. Low HP attacks: Hammer Toss (Works with Fireball command. Mario
  351. morphs from small Mario into Hammer Brother Mario and tosses hammers,
  352. attacking 2enemies. Luigi does the same thing.)
  353.
  354.
  355. Toad: Really hard to get. Bet the Dirk at the Colosseum and beat
  356. Chupon, Ultros, or Darth Vader. You will win the Mushroom. Take this
  357. to Gau'sFather's House with Edgar in your party. Fix his stove, then
  358. use the Mushroom while in the house to bake a Mushroom Souffle (only
  359. Edgar knows how to make this). Take the Mushroom Souffle back to the
  360. Colosseum, bet it, and you will fight Toad! After the fight, he will
  361. join you just like Shadow did. (Note: If you destroy the Colosseum,
  362. you can still get him after it's been rebuilt.)
  363.
  364. TOAD: "He squeaks when stepped on, and has the strength of thirty
  365. mushrooms."
  366.
  367. Toad's commands are:
  368. Stomp
  369. Throw
  370. Cook Souffle (heals party members)
  371. Item
  372.
  373. Low HP attack: Buddy Tosser (throws another party member at enemies;
  374. throws himself when alone)
  375.
  376.
  377. Cecil: To get Cecil, you will have to find and uncurse 8 cursed
  378. items. (Remember, there are two of each cursed item, and only one of
  379. each can be uncursed. Akuma's Uncurse command works well.) The
  380. uncursable cursed items you must find are:
  381.
  382. Cursed Ring: Steal from creatures in Kefka's or Sabin's Tower.
  383. Cursed Boots: Hidden in the Fanatic's Tower.
  384. Cursed Helmet: Hidden in the cave to the Sealed Gate; use the Paladin
  385. Boots to walk over the lava to get to it.
  386. Cursed Armor: Hidden in Narshe.
  387. Cursed Rod: In the third level of the Ancient Castle, near Cecil's
  388. greatgrandson.
  389. Cursed Sword: Hidden in the Cave after the Esper Street Fight Arena.
  390. Cursed Loafers: Buy them in a hidden shoe store behind a painting in
  391. Jidoor.
  392. Cursed Emerald: After uncursing the other 7 uncursable items, you'll
  393. be teleported to the crystal chamber on the moon. The 8 crystal will
  394. thenmerge, become cursed, and turn into an Emerald. Once you
  395. uncurse the Emerald, Cecil's ghost will return to life, and he'll
  396. head to the Colosseum. Go there and bet the Emerald. Cecilwill
  397. then join your party if you defeat him.
  398.
  399. CECIL: "The hero of another age, one who has seen both light and
  400. darkness."
  401.
  402. Cecil's commands are:
  403. Fight
  404. Paladin Blitz (a powerful Blitz that doesn't require controller
  405. motions)
  406. Cover
  407. White
  408. Item
  409.
  410. Low HP attack: Royal Break (Sort of a combo of Royal Shock and Tiger
  411. Break.)
  412.
  413.
  414. GesthalZ: After Kefka and Kakef's reunion scene, fly around in the
  415. airship until you are attacked by GesthalZ, Gesthal's ghost. Use one
  416. Fenix Down or Revivify on him, and he'll come back to life and join
  417. your party.
  418.
  419. GESTAHLZ: "Once a powerful emperor, he, too, has seen both light and
  420. darkness."
  421.
  422. GesthalZ's commands are:
  423. Fight
  424. X-Magic
  425. Command
  426. Possess
  427. P. Morph (morphs into a Phantom, similar to Terra's ability)
  428.
  429. Command is a stronger form of control, in which GesthalZ does not
  430. losecontrol of the target if it gets hit. It only stops if he or it
  431. dies.
  432.
  433. Low HP attack: Magimasher (GesthalZ casts a powerful spell and the
  434. screenturns black. Hits all enemies.)
  435.
  436.
  437. Zemus: With GesthalZ and Kefka both in your party, cross over into
  438. the Overworld of FF2 through the time machine in the Ancient Castle.
  439. Zemus joins your party as soon as you arrive, filling the new place
  440. for a fifth party member.
  441.
  442. ZEMUS: "Enemy of millions, he has seen the light AFTER the darkness!"
  443.
  444. Zemus's commands are:
  445. Fight
  446. Big Bang
  447. Black Hole
  448. Black
  449. White
  450.
  451. Low HP attack: W. Meteo (Zemus jumps to the center of the screen,
  452. looks tothe sky, and chants the spell. Hits all enemies, usually by
  453. 9999.)
  454.
  455. Warning: After you build your own airship from the parts at the
  456. auction, remember to get the Crystal of Flight from under the statue
  457. in the Ancient Castle so you can go to the Moon, or else the airship
  458. will crash and you'll be stuck in the Underworld, and you'll lose
  459. your chance to get Zemus here. However, once you repair the Airship
  460. and get the Big Whale, you can find him on the Moon.
  461.
  462.
  463. Garland (from FFI): He'll appear once you enter WarioLand, on the
  464. other side of the Esper Street Fight Arena. You have stop him from
  465. completing his 1000 year time loop. In order to do this, find the
  466. Mind-Control Helmet that they used on Terra at the beginning (Look
  467. around Narshe and tap "a" at various walls.) Use it on him, and
  468. he'll realize that he can't get back to the future, so he'll join
  469. your team. He can use the Elemental Orbs which are very powerful.
  470.
  471. GARLAND: "The enemy of all, who was lost in time..."
  472.
  473. Garland's commands are:
  474. Fight
  475. Warp (his time warp; it takes you back to the beginning of the
  476. currentbattle)
  477. Morph (into Chaos, of course)
  478. Black
  479. White
  480. Elements (Elemental Orbs, used like Espers)
  481. Item
  482.
  483. Low HP attack: Cure4 (Similar to Zemus's. Cures Garland completely.)
  484.
  485.
  486. Meltdown: You can get Meltdown from the original version of KI in the
  487. Cave to the Sealed Gate. (You though they just renamed him Cinder,
  488. rather than replacing him, didn't you?) He's near the Cursed Helmet.
  489.
  490. MELTDOWN: "He has left to find his freedom as a fire warrior..."
  491.
  492. Meltdown's commands are:
  493. Fight
  494. Combo
  495. Melt (works like the Fire3 spell)
  496. Item
  497.
  498. Low HP attack: Inferno (Meltdown kneels down and shoots a stream of
  499. fire from his hands. Hits one enemy.)
  500.
  501.
  502. General Leo: Fight Platinum dragons, sometimes they give up a
  503. Resurrection Potion when they die. Take the potion to Leo's grave;
  504. he'll return to life and join you. Leo is always equipped with the
  505. Offering and Atlas Armlet, so his attacks are much stronger than
  506. expected. You can also revive him with the powered up Phoenix Esper.
  507.
  508. GEN. LEO: "Back with a vengeance (you thought he was dead!), on the
  509. side of the right!"
  510.
  511. Leo's commands are:
  512. Fight
  513. Shock
  514. Burn (again, it helps to have the Fireball)
  515. Item
  516.
  517. Low HP attack: Earthquake (Sort of like a Shock super combo move.)
  518.
  519.
  520. Maduin: Enter Kefka's Tower through the secret entrance in the back
  521. with Cid in your party. When you get to the remains of the Magitek
  522. Research Facility, Cid will use the Tower's equipment to drain the
  523. Guardian and put the energy back into Maduin. (If you've already
  524. beaten Guardian, don't worry, because we're talking about the other
  525. Guardian, which is invincible.) This revives him, and he then joins
  526. your party.
  527.
  528.
  529. MADUIN: "Yet another relative, with yet another tragic story, an
  530. Esper with great power."
  531.
  532. Maduin's commands are:
  533. Fight
  534. C. Wing (Chaos Wing)
  535. X-Magic
  536. Item
  537.
  538. Low HP attack: Magicite (Maduin jumps to the center of the screen and
  539. calls a random Esper.)
  540.
  541.
  542. Sigma: After reviving Maduin, a Sentry 274 (Sigma) will appear and
  543. challenge you at the exit of the room. Once you wear Sigma down,
  544. he'll call WarMech to help him. If you defeat WarMech, Cid will
  545. reprogram Sigma, and Sigma willjoin your party. You'll also receive
  546. the Dryad esper, which teaches you Mana Magic, Blaster, and Sleep.
  547.
  548. SIGMA: "Forged of energy, strength of steel, a robot pal with power!"
  549.
  550. Sigma's commands are:
  551. Fight
  552. L. Saber (Light Saber)
  553. MagiTek
  554. Item
  555.
  556. Low HP attack: Takedown (Sigma calls his dog to attack.)
  557.
  558. Note: To find the Tower's back entrance, you have to have a member of
  559. your party equipped with the True Knight (or you can use Cecil's
  560. Cover if you have him). Walk in a circle around the Tower and you
  561. will fight various enemies. Make sure one of your characters is Near
  562. Fatal, so the True Knight (or Cecil) will protect him/her. When the
  563. True Knight (or Cecil) blocks a blow, he will be knocked off screen.
  564. Win the fight, and he'll come back with knowledge of the secret
  565. entrance.
  566.
  567.
  568. Mega Man: Leave Kefka's (or Sabin's) Tower after beating the dragons,
  569. and go back to the Solitary Island. Downstairs is Mega Man, sitting
  570. where the raft used to be. (He won't be there if Dr. Light has
  571. already assembled X for you.) If you use his megablaster on
  572. Brachosaurs without charging it up, you'll get an Economizer each
  573. time. If you charge his blast up first, you can get a Gem Box or
  574. Offering instead (50% chance of either).
  575.
  576. MEGA MAN: "Skin of titanium, a rock-and-roll warrior of great
  577. technology!"
  578.
  579. Mega Man's commands are:
  580. Shoot
  581. Charge
  582. Rush
  583. Item
  584.
  585. Using Rush calls Mega Man's dog, Rush. It's similar to when Shadow
  586. calls Interceptor.
  587.
  588. Low HP attack: None.
  589.
  590.
  591. Mega Man X: When going through the Magitek Factory, search for a
  592. secretpassage (it involves jumping off one of the conveyors into a
  593. bottomless pit) and you will be alone in a room with a chest. Kill
  594. the monster-in-a-box (Vanish X-zone works) and he'll give you a
  595. Detached Arm. Give this to Cid (after you revive him in W.O.R.) and
  596. he'll give you a Rare item, the Textbook of Robotics. (If Cid is in
  597. your party already, you'll automatically receive it from him in a
  598. short cinema scene.) Let Gau's father read the Textbook (he won't
  599. unless you fix his stove) and he gives you an Energy Tank and
  600. suggests meeting his uncle at the Colosseum. Go to the Colosseum and
  601. bet the Detached Arm; you'll fight Dr. Light. Beat him (it's tough
  602. since magic doesn't work, but Edgar's Chainsaw and Air Anchor are
  603. pretty good) and give him the Energy Tank. He takes your Detached
  604. Arm, goes into the back (storyline... sigh... tap tap tap tingity
  605. ting ting ting... etc...) and Mega Man X will appear, telling you
  606. that it was Kefka who took the arm off in the first place and that
  607. he'd like to assist you in beating that psychopath, Kefka. (Of
  608. course, if Kefka is in your party, he'll try to kill Kefka right
  609. there, but your other party members will convince him that Kefka has
  610. reformed.) Like the other robot characters, he's immune to the
  611. effects of Ultima.
  612.
  613. MEGA MAN X: "A robot with abilities as diverse as they are powerful."
  614.
  615. Mega Man X's commands are:
  616. Shoot
  617. Device
  618. Rush
  619. Item
  620.
  621. The Device command allows Mega Man X to use the abilities of the
  622. bosses, such as Absolute Zero, S. Cross, N. Cross, etc. Mega Man
  623. will learn theability from a boss if he's in your party and he
  624. survives the battle. (After a boss fight, he goes up to the
  625. disintegrating boss and pulls out some sort of sphere and plugs it
  626. in. Then he has the ability.) Mega Man's WallChange is particularly
  627. nice. Gogo can use them too; if you find Mega Man and then go to
  628. Gogo's status screen to set up his commands, you'll see the Device
  629. command at the very bottom.
  630.
  631. Low HP attack: None.
  632.
  633. Note: You'll be able to get either Megan Man or Mega Man X, depending
  634. on whether you find the Detached Arm in the chest or not. If you
  635. don't find the arm in the Magitek Factory, you'll have to find the
  636. regular Mega Man in Cid's house. You can upgrade him into X by
  637. finding the four parts hidden all around WarioLand and taking them to
  638. Dr. Light.
  639.
  640.
  641. Luca: After GeshtalZ joins your party, you can go to the Underworld
  642. in FF2and find Luca, who has become an incredibly powerful caller.
  643. (She now calls Espers at will.) She's in the throne room of the
  644. Dwarf castle.
  645.
  646. LUCA: "Mage with links to another world, all creatures heed her
  647. call."
  648.
  649. Luca's commands are:
  650. Fight
  651. Call
  652. Call Collect (doesn't use MP, but sometimes the Espers refuse)
  653. Item
  654.
  655. Low HP attack: Moon Prism (similar to Relm's Star Prism)
  656.
  657.
  658. Edge: First, get rid of the really rich guy in the Auction House,
  659. then buy the Pencil for Relm. Go back to the W.O.B. through the
  660. Opera House with Relm and 2 other people in your party (don't bring
  661. Gogo). Head north and there will be 4 miniature Atma Beasts waiting
  662. for you (they've grown up and flown away already if you try to find
  663. them in the W.O.R.). If you can kill them, a secret passage to the
  664. airship Falcon will appear. Fly it to Triangle Island and fight
  665. Intangir. Sketch him while Relm is equipped with the Pencil.
  666. Thegame won't crash like usual, but instead a whole pack of
  667. Intangirs will appear on the screen. (You'll see little penciled
  668. outlines of them.) Relm will yell for help, then Edge will come from
  669. above and kill an Intangir with the Vanish-Sneak technique, causing
  670. the rest to flee. He then will join your party. (Or he'll be in
  671. your airship later if your party's full.) Edge comes equipped with
  672. two swords that give him a total of 5000 damage, and he knows lots of
  673. nice Ninja spells.
  674.
  675.
  676. EDGE: "A king, a ninja, a king-ninja, a ninja-king! What a guy!"
  677.
  678. Edge's commands are:
  679. Fight
  680. Sneak (Becomes Capture when you equip the Thief's Glove.)
  681. Throw (Becomes Throw Really Hard when you equip him with a javelin.)
  682. Magic (Ninja magic, of course)
  683. Item
  684.
  685. Low HP attack: Royal Blitz (powerful ninja lightning attack)
  686.
  687.
  688. Erdrick: This can be done near the very beginning of the game, as
  689. well aslater on. You must find the Turtle's Carrot in the desert
  690. surroundingFigaro. Take it to the turtle in the cave to South
  691. Figaro before you fight Kefka. (You can do it after you fight Kefka,
  692. but if you do, you won't be able to kill Kefka at Figaro Castle).
  693. Jump over to the door behind the spring and inside you will find
  694. Erdrick. The next time you meet Kefka, Erdrick will kill him, ending
  695. the game. Unfortunately, you can't actually use Erdrick in combat;
  696. he just appears during any scene with Kefka. (This automatically
  697. gives you the Erdrick ending.)
  698.
  699.
  700. Kappa: Let the man at the auction buy all 1,200 of the airship
  701. pieces. (Luckily, after 15 pieces, the auctioneer sells the other
  702. 1185 to him atonce.) He builds a whole airship out of the pieces,
  703. and flies away. (You can also get rid of him by luring him and his
  704. daughter out into an alley and beating him up.) Thisleaves you to
  705. buy whatever you want, including the Imp Robot, a.k.a. Kappa. You
  706. can also now buy a Pencil for Relm, that she can use on Intangirs,
  707. and another airship.
  708.
  709. KAPPA: "A strange guy. A really strange guy. A really, really
  710. strange guy. A green guy. An imp robot."
  711.
  712. Kappa's commands are:
  713. Fight
  714. Mecha (Mechanical Attacks)
  715. Magic (but he can only use the Imp spell)
  716. Item
  717.
  718. Low HP attack: Imp Rush (similar to Moogle Rush)
  719.
  720.
  721. Grant: You can get Grant, the thief from Zozo, by taking Gogo to Zozo
  722. and talking to the guy who says "Zozo? Never heard of it." Gogo
  723. will Mimic him, and they will have a Zozo type conversation
  724. (everything that is said is a lie). When the conversation is over,
  725. Gogo will have convinced him to join, and he'll tell you that his
  726. name is Grant. (Whether he's telling the truth now or not is
  727. anybody's guess.)
  728.
  729. GRANT: "A master thief and a convincing liar. Good thing he's on
  730. your side."
  731.
  732. Grant's commands are:
  733. Stab
  734. Capture
  735. Steal
  736. Magic
  737. Item
  738.
  739. If you equip Grant with the Thief Glove, Steal turns into Rob, and
  740. Grant can steal from the entire attacking group of monsters.
  741.
  742. Low HP attack: Drop Blade (Works with Stab command. Grant climbs the
  743. side of the screen and across the top until he's right above an
  744. enemy. Then he dives at them, knife first.)
  745.
  746.
  747. Boel: Get Boel, the merchant from South Figaro, by bringing Edgar to
  748. the Cider merchant under the Cafe. Boel will go on about how the old
  749. man is too distraught about the world being ruined that he won't buy
  750. his Cider! He joins hoping that destroying Kefka will get the old
  751. man to buy his Cider again.
  752.
  753. BOEL: "A desperate merchant and a master salesman."
  754.
  755. Boel's commands are:
  756. Fight
  757. Sell
  758. Magic
  759. Item
  760.
  761. When you use Sell, Boel temporarily takes one of the monsters out of
  762. the fight and tries to sell it something.
  763.
  764. Low HP attack: M. Cocktail (throws a flaming drink at an enemy)
  765.
  766.
  767.
  768. Scott: To find Scott, first take the Turtle's Carrot to the Chocobo
  769. hut in South Figaro. Give it to one of the Chocobos and he'll turn
  770. into a Black Chocobo. Jump on him and he'll fly you to a mountain
  771. top near Narshe. (In the background you can see the lights of
  772. Narshe.) Enter the hut on the mountain and there will be Scott! And
  773. is he ready for war! He comesequipped with Paladin Armor, Paladin
  774. Shield, Paladin Helmet, Paladin Boots, and the Paladin Pendant. (And
  775. no, you can't unequip them, and they don't count towards getting
  776. uncursed items.) The Pendant sets all evade, magicblock and stats
  777. that are not covered by the other paladin items to max. Fora weapon
  778. he has the Paladin's Rubber Band! That's right, a rubber band!
  779. Unfortunately, he can't use magic, but his two commands, Snap and
  780. Sting, areawesome.
  781.
  782. SCOTT: "Who is this guy? And why does he use a rubber band?"
  783.
  784. Scott's commands are:
  785. Snap
  786. Sting
  787. Item
  788.
  789. Snap does 9999 damage with every hit, even with the Offering.
  790.
  791. Sting paralyzes enemies with a stinging shot from the Rubber Band.
  792.
  793. Low HP attack: Slingshot (similar to Umaro's rage attack, works with
  794. Snap)
  795.
  796.
  797. Anthony: In the Mario Is Missing world, as soon as you reach Paris,
  798. sell all your Espers. The merchant will turn out to be Tony, the
  799. compiler of the FF3 Bogus FAQ. (Anthony's more than 6 letters long.)
  800. He will try to destroy all the Espers you sold him, and you will
  801. automatically fight him. He's pretty tough, but you should be able
  802. to beat him if you equip Shadow, Locke, or Luigi with the Offering
  803. and Genji Glove. (BTW, Vanish-Doom makes him impervious to weapons
  804. and refills his hit points to max.) Watch out for his Secret Cheese,
  805. which he attacks you with when he runs out of hit points. After you
  806. beat Tony, you will see this big cinema scene about ten different
  807. endings, with some comments about the secret endings. He will then
  808. join your party, and you'll get your Espers back.
  809.
  810. TONY: "One mean merchant with the powers of the gaming gods..."
  811.
  812.
  813. Tony's commands are:
  814. Fight
  815. Transform (Temporarily turns Tony into a random hidden character.)
  816. Esper (Just like using Magicite; he harnesses the Espers' power.)
  817. Edit
  818. Item
  819.
  820. Edit: Since he writes the game he can rewrite monsters too! This
  821. command transforms an enemy into a different enemy. However, it
  822. might transform them into a more powerful enemy, so use it carefully.
  823.
  824. Low HP attack: Secret Cheese (kills enemy unfairly)
  825.
  826.
  827. Siggy: Bet the Chupon Suit at the Colosseum, you will fight Sigfried.
  828. Beat him, and he'll change his name to Siegfried, then he'll run off
  829. to the Phantom Forest. Now go to the Phantom Forest a third time (it
  830. changes each time), and you'll be able to find the Mana tree. Use
  831. the Chocobo Axe (or the Ultima Axe) on it to chop it down. The
  832. Sprite from Secret of Mana will show up and fight you. He's not too
  833. tough, but the Vanish/X-zone/Doom trick doesn't work on him.
  834. Anyway, when you wound him sufficiently, he will explode and take the
  835. Mana Tree with him. Siegfried will show up, plant a new one, and ask
  836. you to water it. Cast Aqua Rake or use a Water Skean on it and
  837. Siegfried will change his name to Ziegfried and run off again. Now
  838. you'll find him stalking about on the Phantom Train. You have to
  839. fight him, and he will keep running away. Use the Lead Weight on
  840. him, and he won't be able to run anymore. He'll finally give up and
  841. join you, but first he'll change his name to Siggy, so it'll be less
  842. than 7 letters long. When you get him, he's equipped with the Siggy
  843. Esper and the Siggy Sword.
  844.
  845. SIGGY: "First Sigfried, then Siegfried, then Ziegfried? Well, he's
  846. finally joined you!"
  847.
  848. Siggy's commands are:
  849. Y-Fight
  850. X-Magic
  851. Uncurse
  852.
  853. Item
  854.
  855. Low HP attack: Sig Frier (Siggy will shoot a powerful blast of fire
  856. out of his sword and fry an enemy.)
  857.
  858.
  859. (The Hero, Sara, Nina, and Bleu are from Breath of Fire.)
  860.
  861. Hero from B.O.F.: Bet the Bahamut Esper at the Colosseum, and, trying
  862. to help another dragon, Hero fights you for it. Beat him and he
  863. joins you, like Shadow and Toad.
  864.
  865. HERO: "A great hero, lost in an unfamiliar adventure, searching for
  866. his friends..."
  867.
  868. The Hero's commands are:
  869. Fight
  870. D. Morph (Dragon Morph, becomes Roast when in dragon form)
  871. Magic
  872. Item
  873.
  874. Low HP attack:
  875. Not Morphed: Dragon Blitz (calls more dragons for help.)
  876. Morphed: MegaFlare
  877.
  878.
  879. Sara: To get Sara to join you, take the Hero from Breath of Fire to
  880. the Fanatics Tower. Defeat the White Dragon, and it will turn into
  881. the Hero's sister, Sara. She will release her part of the Crusader
  882. seal, and join you. (If you've already killed the White Dragon, just
  883. fight it on the Veldt.)
  884.
  885. SARA: "Sister of the great Hero, she will make any sacrifice."
  886.
  887. Sara's commands are:
  888. Fight
  889. D. Morph (Just like Hero's.)
  890. X-Magic
  891. Item
  892.
  893. Low HP attack:
  894. Not Morphed: Dragon Punch
  895. Morphed: MegaNuke
  896.
  897.
  898. Nina: In the World of Ruin, after you get the airship, return to
  899. theSolitary Island, get the Palidor Magicite, and wait for 5
  900. minutes. Nina will wash up onshore. Take her to Cid's house to
  901. heal. Go out for a while, and come back. She will have recovered
  902. and will join the party.
  903.
  904. NINA: "A magic master with the powers of a bird."
  905.
  906. Nina's commands are:
  907. Fight
  908. Palidor (she turns into a bird and executes the move of the Palidor
  909. Esper)
  910. Magic
  911. Item
  912.
  913. Low HP attack: Wing Snap (powerful air attack)
  914.
  915.
  916. Bleu: In the World of Ruin, have Nina cast Warp. You will be
  917. teleported to Wisdon. Walk through the palace and fight Bleu's
  918. guards. Beat them, and Bleu will join you. To get back, cast Warp
  919. again.
  920.
  921. BLEU: "Another magician, with the powers of a snake."
  922.
  923. Bleu's commands are:
  924. Fight
  925. X-Lore
  926. S. Magic (Snake magic.)
  927. Item
  928.
  929. X Lore is a stronger version of Lore, in which Bleu learns not only
  930. Lore and regular spells, but Rage attacks too, like Wing Snap, Bite,
  931. etc. She'll learn any of Gau's Rages the same way she learns Lores.
  932.
  933. Snake magic is used primarily for throwing big rocks at enemies, but
  934. it also consists of a few powerful spells. Snake Magic is magic that
  935. only Bleu can use (with a few special exceptions). She joins knowing
  936. all of her Snake Magic spells. They are as follows:
  937. Meteo
  938. W. Meteo
  939. Meteor
  940. X-Meteor
  941. Merton
  942. X-Merton
  943.
  944. She can also learn ANY other spell by seeing it used. If it is a
  945. Lore or a special attack, it goes in X-Lore. If it is a normal
  946. spell, it goes in her S. Magic.
  947.
  948. Low HP attack: Snakebite (VERY strong version of Poison)
  949.
  950.
  951. Rydia: Go to the W.O.B., and head for the Serpent Trench. Before
  952. jumping in, equip one of your characters with the Paladin Sword.
  953. Keep going right, and eventually you'll run into Leviathan. The
  954. character equipped with the Paladin Sword will go berserk and kill
  955. Leviathan. Now Rydia will appear, and your characters will convince
  956. her to help you out. Follow her through a cave; if you keep up with
  957. Rydia then you will come to the exit of the cave. Outside the cave
  958. you find yourself in Eblan. Enter the castle, and Rydia will be in
  959. the castle's throne room with her husband Edge (unless he's already
  960. joined you). They'll throw a dinner party with lots of guests.
  961. After the party, she'll join you, along with most of the guests.
  962. Then you'll return to your airship through a door in the back of the
  963. castle, bringing them all along. You won't be able to control the
  964. guests, but they'll follow you everywhere, like in Dragon Warrior.
  965. Only Rydia will join you as a playable character. (This also gives
  966. you the special version of any of the endings.)
  967.
  968. RYDIA: "A caller from the far, far past..."
  969.
  970. Rydia's commands are:
  971. Fight
  972. Call
  973. Magic (she can use white, black, and effect now!)
  974. Item
  975.
  976. Low HP attack: Bird Song (Rydia turns into a big green bird and claws
  977. enemies.)
  978.
  979.
  980. Zero (from Mega Man X): Bet the Radar Tracer at the Esper Street
  981. Fight Arena (bet the Energy Tank here to get the Radar Tracer first).
  982. You'll get the Airship Radar. Give it to Cid and he'll equip it on
  983. the airship for you. The next time you are on the airship, you'll
  984. see three flashing dots at random locations on the small map in the
  985. corner. These are the locations of the X hunters from Mega Man X2.
  986. Head to the cave or town that the light is pointing to and search for
  987. the X hunter there. Beat it, and you'll receive a Zero Part. (The X
  988. hunters locations change every time you get on the airship). Once
  989. you have all three parts, take them to the Colloseum. Dr. Light will
  990. meet you as soon as you go in. He'll rebuild Zero, then Zero will
  991. join your party. Like Mega Man X, Zero can gain the powers of the
  992. bosses.
  993.
  994. ZERO: "Perhaps the finest Maverick of all time..."
  995.
  996. Zero's commands are:
  997. D. Shot
  998. C. Beam
  999. Device
  1000. Item
  1001.
1002. If you use Double Shot (D. Shot), Zero can shoot two high power
1003. blasts at once. He can choose one target or two. It can do 5000
1004. damage to two targets or 9999 to one.
  1005.
1006. With Crescent Beam (C. Beam), Zero can use his sword to shoot a
1007. crescent shaped beam at the whole enemy group. It hits for 3000-5000
  1008. damage.
  1009.
  1010. Low HP attack: None.
  1011.
  1012.
1013. Draco and Ralse: When you get to the W.O.R., go to the Opera House
1014. withUltros in your party. He'll lead you through a secret pathway
1015. to the 3rdfloor (where Celes walked with the flowers). You'll see
1016. Draco and Ralserehearsing. They'll stop to attack Ultros. Beat
1017. them and they'll join you. While you're up here, look behind the
1018. pillars and you can get the Sacrifice relic, which is a stronger
  1019. version of the Offering.
  1020.
1021. DRACO & RALSE: No quote, they just appear in you airship.
  1022.
  1023. Draco's commands are:
  1024. Fight
  1025. SwdTech
  1026. Cover
1027. Sing (Like Edward in FF2)
  1028. Item
  1029.
1030. Low HP attack: Deafener (Draco sings a really high pitched note.
1031. Sounds like the Vacuum2 spell in 7th Saga.)
  1032.
  1033.
  1034. Ralse's commands are:
  1035. Fight
  1036. Duel
  1037. Item
  1038.
1039. When you use Ralse's Duel command, he jumps up to a single enemy and
1040. hits it several times. The command only works when he's equipped
  1041. with a sword.
  1042.
1043. Low HP attack: Convincer (Ralse convinces enemies to fight each other
1044. after landing a powerful blow.)
  1045.
  1046.
1047. Maria: To get Maria, fall through the trap door in the Opera house
1048. 25.5 times, then go to the Inn at Jidoor. The person there will be
1049. selling Tickets to the Opera. Buy some Tickets, and take Celes to
1050. the Opera House. Go to the main desk and give the usher your
1051. Tickets. You will be escorted to your seat. The Opera will start,
1052. and show Maria singing. Then the rafter rats will jump down and
1053. attack the audience. You will be drawn into combat, fighting some of
1054. the rats. When you beat a few groups of them, you'll fight Redrat,
1055. who's much more powerful than the other rats (and also stronger than
1056. Rattatooie). After you knock off about 20,000 hit points, Redrat
1057. will use Cheese Breath on you and blow away two of your fighters
1058. (just like Phunbaba). Now Maria will jump down from the stage and
1059. join you. With her help, you will be able to kill Redrat. (You won't
1060. be able to control her, she attacks on her own, a la Cyan.) After
1061. after a short conversation with Celes, she'll officially join you.
  1062.
1063. MARIA: "She has grace, beauty, and a voice that will blow you away."
  1064.
  1065. Maria's commands are:
  1066. Fight
  1067. Sing
  1068. Duet
  1069. Magic
  1070. Item
  1071.
1072. Duet is a stronger version of Sing, but she can only do it if one of
1073. the following characters are in your party (the ones who can sing):
1074. Celes, Setzer, Kefka, Kakef, Darill, Gaze, Draco, or Ralse. It's
1075. similar to a Twin attack.
  1076.
1077. Low HP attack: Sonic Song (Sound blasts all enemies. Damages and
  1078. confuses.)
  1079.
  1080.
1081. Darill, Vargas, and Doomgaze: First, let the man and daughter at the
1082. Auction House buy the airship and fly away. (You can also get rid of
1083. them by luring the guy into a back alley and then pounding him
1084. unconscious.) Then get Kappa, and take him to Kohlinghen to where
1085. the two people are planting trees. Kappa will use analyze (Mecha),
1086. and discover that the seeds they were using were Phantom Seeds. The
1087. people will replace the seeds, and then they'll give you the Phantom
1088. Seeds. Now, go to the Phantom Forest and throw the seeds into the
1089. recovery spring there. Theseeds will instantly grow into an
1090. extension of the forest. Go into the new section of the forest, and
1091. you will end up at the train platform. ThePhantom Train will come
1092. by and drop off Darill and Vargas (as well as Shadow if he died on
1093. the Floating Continent), you will join you or wait in your airship.
1094. It'll remain stopped, so you can go inside and challenge Doomgaze.
1095. Doomgaze will know some new spells this time, so he's harder to kill
1096. than you might think. He will often cast Deathgaze, which casts Doom
1097. on everyone. Make sure someone is wearing the Relic Ring. After you
1098. defeat him, Doomgaze will say, "You guys are strong! I'm sticking
1099. with you!" After warning him not to double-cross you again, you let
1100. him join. (He changes his name to Gaze.) Gaze always floats when
  1101. he's in your party.
  1102.
  1103.
1104. DARILL: "She flew faster and farther than anyone else. Now she's
  1105. returnedfrom the great beyond..."
  1106.
  1107. Darill's commands are:
  1108. Fight
  1109. Summon
  1110. Magic
  1111. Item
  1112.
1113. With the Summon command, Darill may summon an Esper, and she can do
1114. it as many times per battle as she wants. The MP Cost to Summon are
1115. half of what they usually cost, but she must know all the spells of
1116. an Esper to Summon it.
  1117.
1118. Low HP attack: Blue Card (similar to Red Card)
  1119.
  1120.
1121. VARGAS: "The great martial artist, son of Duncan."
  1122.
  1123. Vargas's commands are:
  1124. Fight
  1125. P. Blitz
  1126. Magic
  1127. Item
  1128.
1129. P. Blitz (Phantom Blitz) is similar to Sabin's Blitz, but with a
1130. twist of "ghost." i.e.,Phantom Dance replaces Fire Dance, and uses
  1131. ghosts rather than people.
  1132.
1133. Low HP attack: Bummer (similar to Bum Rush but faster and longer)
  1134.
  1135.
1136. GAZE: "An undead soul who roamed the heavens, searching for prey."
  1137.
  1138. Gaze's commands are:
  1139. Fight
1140. Flight (more powerfull form of jump)
  1141. X-Magic
  1142. Command
  1143. Possess
  1144. D-Magic
  1145. Escape
  1146. Item
  1147.
1148. D-Magic are Doomgaze's natural spells, so they don't cost MP.
  1149.
1150. When you use Escape, you can run away from things that cannot usually
1151. be run away from, but not bosses.
  1152.
1153. Low HP attack: L.2 Doom
  1154.
1155. Note: There is a guy in Albrook that says, "I saw Doomgaze in the
1156. sky. I'd rather take an acid bath than fight that thing!" Take Gaze
1157. to him and he will have a heart attack. Once he's unconscious, you
1158. can steal some gold or a Tonic from him. Give him a heart attack
1159. enough times, though, and he'll go into the Cafe, and will be too
1160. drunk to to be scared. Talk to him, and he'll give random responses
1161. which indicate that he's drunk.
  1162.
  1163.
1164. Wedge and Vicks (if you let them die at the beginning): First have
1165. Mega Man, Mega Man X, Sigma, or Zero bet one of their Energy Tanks at
1166. the Esper Street Fight Arena (don't worry, you'll get it back).
1167. You'll fight a giant Hard Hat (it's easy to beat). Win and you'll
1168. get the Radar Tracer. Have Cid or Dr. Light equip it to Mega Man,
1169. Mega Man X, Sigma, or Zero. Head to Kefka's or Sabin's Tower with
1170. Cid and the robot equipped with the Radar Tracer in your party, as
1171. well as the Phoenix Esper. Go to the part where it looks like the
1172. old MagiTek factory. The Radar Tracer will reveal a secret passage
1173. that your robot will blast open. Inside will be a hidden machine.
1174. Cid will use the machine to drain energy from your robot's other
1175. Energy Tank and restore the Phoenix Esper to full power. (You'll
1176. lose an Energy Tank, but it's worth it.) Take the full power Esper
1177. to the cave in Narshe. The screen will glow and Wedge and Vicks will
1178. appear back from the dead. They'll join you, but, if either Kefka or
1179. GesthalZ is in your party or on your airship, they will attack you,
1180. blaming Kefka and Geshtal for sending them on the mission that led to
1181. their deaths, and you'll have to beat them to convince them to join
1182. you. Otherwise they'll just join you. (You can also use the powered
1183. up Phoenix esper to restore Gen. Leo.)
  1184.
1185. WEDGE & VICKS: "The greatest soldiers of the Empire..."
  1186.
1187. Wedge and Vicks's commands are:
  1188. MagiTek
  1189. X-Magic
  1190. Item
  1191.
  1192. Low HP attacks: None.
  1193.
  1194.
  1195. SPELLS:
  1196.
1197. Deathgaze: Gaze (a.k.a. Doomgaze) knows this spell when you get him.
1198. It casts Doom on the entire enemy party.
  1199.
1200. Fire!!: Random effect, but it always has something to do with a fire.
1201. Youcan learn this from the Siggy Esper.
  1202.
1203. Fire28: Use with Vanish to knock out Intangir. Learned from Siggy
  1204. Esper.
  1205.
1206. Hangon: Jago has this spell when you get him. Just have him cast it,
1207. and the other characters will all hang on to him. (You can now use
1208. his Spin Kick to get to the last guy.)
  1209.
1210. Imp2: You become immune to the effects of Ultima. The Bowser Esper
1211. caststhis on your party when you use him.
  1212.
1213. Meteor2: If you use the Meteor Ring, it casts Meteor2. It's
1214. basically the same thing as meteor, but it has little firey people
1215. instead of rocks (like Fire Dance). This works well against Sabin.
  1216.
1217. Moo: Either turns people into cows or has a giant cow fall on them.
1218. Kefkahas this spell when you get him.
  1219.
1220. Snake Magic: Snake Magic is the magic that, for the most part, only
1221. Bleu can use. She joins knowing all of her Snake Magic spells, which
  1222. include:
  1223. Meteo
  1224. W Meteo
  1225. Meteor
  1226. X Meteor
  1227. Meteron
  1228. X Meteron
  1229.
  1230.
1231. Ultima2: Sabin will always cast Ultima2 right away and all of your
1232. characters from the airship come to serve him, unless you equip Ryu
1233. with the Fireball. (Ryu will Hadoken him immediately to stop him
1234. from casting the spell.) It's basically a more powerful version of
1235. Ultima, since it affects robot warriors like Mega Man and Kappa also.
1236. You can learn this from the Chocobo Axe after 255 fights. (It turns
  1237. into the Ultima Axe.)
  1238.
1239. Ultima3: You can Steal this spell from some of the really
1240. powerfulcharacters. Once you cast it, it morphs all of your party
1241. members intoreally strong Paladins for the duration of the battle.
1242. (Unfortunately, ituses 999 MP without the Economizer.)
  1243.
1244. Ultima4: You can learn this from the Siggy Esper, but you can't cast
1245. it. Exodus casts this when you defeat him.
  1246.
1247. Warp: Nina has this spell when she joins you. It brings your party
1248. to andfrom Wisdon, where you can get Bleu. (Not to be confused with
  1249. Garland's Warp ability.)
  1250.
  1251.
  1252. ITEMS:
1253. Airship Horn: You'll get this from the ghost at the Last Refuge. Use
1254. it next to Necrosaro's Volcano to call your airship. (See the
1255. Mystery Dragon Ending for the full explanation.)
  1256.
1257. Airship Radar: Bet the Radar Tracer at the Esper Street Fight arena.
1258. You'll get the Airship Radar. Give it to Cid and he will equip it on
1259. the airship. The next time you are on your airship, you'll see three
1260. flashing dots at random locations on the small map in the corner.
1261. These are the locations of the X hunters from Mega Man X2.
  1262.
1263. Amulet of True Light: Use the Illumina Sword on the Gem Box to break
1264. it open, and you'll receive this. Using it will cause Kefka to join
1265. your party. You can also use it on the FakeMustache to turn it into
  1266. the RealMustache.
  1267.
1268. Black Gun: Take the warp from the Opera House to the W.O.B., but,
1269. whileinside, go to the secret side path rather than straight ahead.
1270. If youcontinue to the left, you'll eventually find a
1271. monster-in-a-box, Atma Armor. Defeat him and you'll get the Black
1272. Gun. Use the Black Gun on the White Gun, and Kefka will receive the
  1273. God! SwdTech.
  1274.
1275. Cheese: Fight a group of enemies outside the Opera House in the World
1276. orRuin, and cheese them by using the Vanish-Doom technique. You'll
1277. win theCheese. Take the Cheese up to the rafters above the stage
1278. and use it. In a few seconds, a whole herd of rats will come out and
1279. fight for the Cheese. Challenge their leader, Rattatooie. If you
1280. beat him, you'll open up a secret warp to the W.O.B.
  1281.
1282. Chocobo Axe: Go to the Chocobo forest right outside Baron in the
1283. FF2Overworld; in there you can choose between the Chocobo Esper and
1284. the Chocobo Axe. After 255 fights, the Chocobo Axe turns into the
1285. Ultima Axe, which teaches Ultima2. Go back to the Phantom Forest the
1286. third time (it changes each time you go there), and you'll be able to
1287. find the Mana tree. Use the Axe on it to chop it down and to get the
1288. Sprite from Secret of Mana to fight you.
  1289.
1290. Chupon Suit: You can win the Chupon Suit by killing Chupon Behemoths.
1291. Betthe Chupon Suit at the Colosseum and, surprisingly, you'll
1292. challenge Sigfried instead of Chupon. (This is the first step for
1293. getting Siggy to join you.)
  1294.
1295. Cross: The Cross is found by uncursing the Cursed Rod. Take it with
1296. you to the Colosseum and bet the Fireball. You'll fight Ultros, and
1297. he'll only join your party after you beat him if you have the Cross.
  1298.
1299. Crystal of Flight: Search for this under a statue in the first floor
1300. of the Ancient Castle. You can equip this on Edgar's throne in
1301. Figaro Castle or you can equip the Auction House airship with this.
1302. Either vehicle will then be able to fly to the FF2 Moon.
  1303.
1304. Demon Ring: Get this at the Paladin Castle by showing the Demon Sword
1305. to the guards. After you receive this, go in the castle, and Kefka
1306. will get down on one knee and propose to Celes. He'll give the Demon
1307. Ring to her as an engagement ring.
  1308.
1309. Demon Sword: This is in the fourth chest in Wario's Castle. You can
1310. get it after you fight the DarkLuigi. The room with the chests can
1311. be found by searching the north wall and pressing the "A" button.
1312. Use this at the Paladin Castle to get the Demon Ring.
  1313.
1314. Detached Arm: Get this by defeating a monster-in-a-box in the
1315. MagitekFactory. Take it to Cid to get the Textbook of Robotics,
1316. then take theTextbook to Gau's father (after you've fixed his stove)
1317. to get an EnergyTank. Bet the Detached Arm in the Colosseum to
1318. fight Dr. Light; beat him and Mega Man X will join your party.
  1319.
1320. Dragon Crowns: You can get the 8 Dragon Crowns from the Greater
1321. Dragon King if you send him the Note by pigeon. Take the Dragon
1322. Crowns with you to give to each of the 8 Dragons when you fight them.
1323. (If you've beaten them already, they'll all appear on the Veldt as
1324. soon as you get the Dragon Crowns.) After you give out all 8 Dragon
1325. Crowns, you'll fight the Great Flying Darth.
  1326.
1327. Dragon God Sword: Defeat Kakef inside the Black Hole Dragon to get
1328. this. Kefka will automatically use it against GoneGone in the final
  1329. battle.
  1330.
1331. Elemental Orbs: Garland can use these at any time when you control
1332. him. They work like Espers (since he can't use Espers), and include
1333. Lich, Kary, Kraken, and Tiamat.
  1334.
1335. Energy Tank: You can get one of these from Gau's father if you show
1336. him the Textbook of Robotics after you fix his stove. Take it with
1337. you to the Colosseum when you bet the Detached Arm, and Dr. Light
1338. will use it and thearm to revive Mega Man X. Mega Man, Mega Man X,
1339. Sigma, and Zero are alsoeach equipped with two of these when you get
1340. them. You can also bet it at the Esper Street Fight Arena to get the
1341. Radar Tracer. (Energy Tanks are Relics.)
  1342.
  1343.
1344. Fireball: You can obtain Fireballs easily by using the
1345. Vanish-Fire28-Combo trick on Fireball Dragons. (And you usually get
1346. a Killer Combo from this trick, too.) When fighting Sabin or
1347. GoneGone at the end, equip Ryu with the Fireball, and he'll Hadoken
1348. him at the start of the battle to stop him from casting Ultima2,
1349. which forms a tower under Sabin or GoneGone consisting of all the
  1350. characters in your airship.
  1351.
1352. Flammie Drum: You can get this by beating the three characters from
1353. Secret of Mana in Cyan's dream. It only appears in the SUPER SUPER
  1354. SUPER SECRET ULTRA ENDING.
  1355.
1356. Holy Scissors: Take Locke back to the Barber Shop where Gau got his
1357. hair cut before he went to see his father (It's in Jidoor). Have
1358. Locke talk to the barber, and he will fight him. ("I'm a
  1359. treasure-hunter, not a thief! And I don't need a haircut!") Just
  1360. Steal the Holy Scissors!
  1361.
1362. Iceball: Go to WarioLand with Baram in your party, and sleep in
1363. Wario's bed. You'll see a dream of Meltdown and Baram walking around
1364. Wario's castle, and they'll hide a mysterious object in the castle
1365. basement. After you kill the Dark Luigi (who storms into the room
1366. and wakes you up), look in that location to find it.
  1367.
1368. Invisibility ring: Uncurse the Cursed Ring that Kakef is equipped
1369. with. (The first Cursed Ring turns into the Paladin Ring.)
  1370.
1371. Kefka Suit: Fight Pink Pugs to get the Pug Tail, and equip it for
1372. 2.55battles to uncurse it and get the Kefka Suit. Equip Kefka with
1373. this and the Paladin Sword to get sucked into the Black Hole Dragon
1374. and get the Ultra Combo ending.
  1375.
1376. M. Souffle: Take the Mushroom to Gau's Father's House with Edgar in
1377. yourparty. Fix his stove, then use the Mushroom while in the house
1378. to bake aMushroom Souffle (only Edgar knows how to make this). Take
1379. the MushroomSouffle back to the Colosseum, bet it, and you will
1380. fight Toad! After thefight, he will join you just like Shadow did.
1381. (Note: If you destroy theColosseum, you can still get him after it's
  1382. been rebuilt.)
  1383.
1384. Mega Armor: Find this in WarioLand; Cid can use it along with the
1385. other three parts to convert Mega Man into Mega Man X. The Armor is
1386. hidden on the first floor of Syrup Castle.
  1387.
1388. Mega Boots: The boots are hidden in WarioLand, on the train in the
  1389. Parsley Woods Zone.
  1390.
1391. Mega Blaster: The blaster is hidden in WarioLand, in the Stove
1392. Canyon. You need either the Mega Boots or the Paladin Boots to walk
1393. over the lava to get this.
  1394.
1395. Mega Helmet: The helmet is hidden in Warioland, on the S.S. Teacup.
  1396.
1397. Meteor Ring: Getting this is hard. Go to Mysidia with Kefka, Baram,
1398. and Shadow in your party. Kefka will see Golbez, and they'll get
1399. into a big argument and start mud-wrestling. Kefka wins, but the
1400. villagers tell you that you'll have to stay overnight at the Inn
1401. while they clean Kefka up. Since Baram and Shadow are in your party,
1402. you'll see Shadow's sixth dream and your party will go inside
1403. Shadow's soul for an adventure. At the end of this you'll battle
1404. Zemus's uncle Steve and his henchmen. The best way to kill Steve is
1405. to use the Slave Crown or Mind Control Helmet to give you control of
1406. one of the henchmen. Beat him and you'll get the Meteor Ring. You
1407. can use this ring to cast Meteor2, which works well against Sabin.
  1408.
  1409.
1410. Mind Control Helmet (from beginning): Look around Narshe and tap "a"
1411. atvarious walls. Use it on Garland to convince him to join your
1412. party. (Works the same way as the Slave Crown.)
  1413.
1414. Mushroom: Bet the Dirk at the Colosseum and beat Chupon, Ultros, or
1415. Darth Vader. You will win the Mushroom. Take this to Gau's Father's
1416. House with Edgar in your party. Fix his stove, then use the Mushroom
1417. while in the house to bake a Mushroom Souffle (only Edgar knows how
1418. to make this). Take the Mushroom Souffle back to the Colosseum, bet
1419. it, and you will fight Toad! After the fight, he will join you just
1420. like Shadow did. (Note: If you destroy the Colosseum, you can still
1421. get him after it's been rebuilt.)
  1422.
1423. Note: (The Note is an item, this isn't just another note about
1424. something.) You'll see this on the table in the Returner's Hideout,
1425. and either you (Terra) or Banon will throw it away. To get the
1426. Mystery Dragon ending, take Cid back to the part of the Serpent
1427. Trench in the W.O.R. where the Hideout was, and he'll find the Note.
1428. Give the Note to a passenger pigeon in Maranda.
  1429.
1430. Pencil: Get rid of the rich man in the Auction House by letting him
1431. buy a whole airship and flyingaway, or by luring him out into an
1432. alley and beating him up. Now you can buy whatever you want,
1433. including another airship and a Pencil for Relm. (If you get rid of
1434. him by beating him up, no one else in the Auction House will ever
1435. overbid you again.) Take Relm, equipped with the Pencil, to
1436. Intangir's island and Sketch an Intangir. You'll draw a whole herd
1437. of Intangir shapes, and Edge will save you and join your party.
  1438.
  1439.
1440. Pug Tail: While on the FF2 Moon, go to Bahamut's Cave Subteranne 2,
1441. where you can fight the Pink Pugs. The Pink Pugs always give you the
1442. Pug Tail if you beat them. Equip this (it's cursed) and fight for
1443. 2.55 battles. (It gets uncursed just after you've killed half the
1444. bad guys in the third battle.) It will turn into the Kefka Suit.
  1445.
1446. Purple Belt: Ryu, Ken, or Toad can win this from Intangir if they
1447. kill him while he's visible.
  1448.
1449. Radar Tracer: Have Mega Man, Mega Man X, Sigma, or Zero bet one of
1450. their Energy Tanks at the Esper Street Fight Arena (don't worry
1451. you'll get it back). You'll fight a giant Hard Hat (it's easy to
1452. beat). Win and you'll get the Radar Tracer. You can bet this at the
1453. Esper Street Fight Arena to get the Airship Radar, but first have Cid
1454. or Dr.Light equip it to Mega Man, Mega Man X, Sigma, or Zero. When
1455. equipped, the Radar Tracer will reveal a secret passage in Kefka's or
1456. Sabin's Tower in the part where it looks like the old MagiTek
  1457. factory.
  1458.
1459. Razor: After you get Kefka, take him and Locke to the Solitary Island
1460. tofight Cid. During the fight, have Locke Steal or Capture; he'll
  1461. get theRazor (it's a Rare item).
  1462.
1463. RealMustache: Use the Amulet of True Light on the FakeMustache, and
1464. it will become the RealMustache.
  1465.
1466. Resurrection Potion: You can win this after killing a Platinum
1467. Dragon. Takeit to General Leo's grave to revive him.
  1468.
  1469.
1470. Sacrifice: Go up to the upper balcony in the Opera House. Search
1471. behind the pillars and you'll find the Sacrifice, a stronger version
  1472. of the Offering.
  1473.
1474. Scorpion Doll: The Scorpion Doll is buried with General Leo, you'll
1475. get itwhen you bring Leo back to life with the Resurrection Potion.
1476. Bet it at the Colosseum with Kefka as your fighter to get Jax.
  1477.
1478. Sealed Weapons: At the top of the Cult Tower in the Timeless World,
1479. you'll fight Cowkef and the soldiers from the Order of the Ebon Cow.
1480. After you defeat them, you'll receive the 12 Sealed Weapons, which
1481. you need to defeat Exodus. They include:
  1482. Excalipur
  1483. Masamune
  1484. Doom Bow
  1485. Berserk Axe
  1486. Pink Pug Tail (whip)
  1487. Cow Bell
  1488. Excalibur
  1489. Love Bow
  1490. Cupid Arrows
  1491. White Wizard Sword
  1492. Moon Staff
  1493. Moon Rod
1494. Go to the FF2 Moon and enter FuSoYa's cave. Head down to the center
1495. ofthe moon and equip all the Sealed Weapons. Exodus will appear,
  1496. and you'llfight him.
  1497.
1498. Siggy Sword: Siggy is equipped with this when you get him. When you
1499. equip it, it increases your defense and magic defense as well as your
  1500. attack.
  1501.
1502. Slave Crown: This gives you control of an enemy character in battle,
1503. much like Relm's Control ability. You can win this from Rattatooie
1504. or from some enemies on theFF2 Moon.
  1505.
1506. Textbook of Robotics: Take the Detached Arm to Cid in the W.O.R. to
1507. get the Textbook of Robotics, a Rare item. (If Cid is in your party
1508. already, you'll automatically receive it from him in a short cinema
1509. scene.) Let Gau's father read it (he won't unless you fix his stove)
1510. and he gives you an Energy Tank which you can bet at the Colosseum to
1511. get Mega Man X to join your party.
  1512.
1513. Tickets: Fall through the trap door in the Opera house 25.5 times,
1514. then go to the Inn at Jidoor. The person there will be selling
1515. Tickets to the Opera. Buy some Tickets, and take Celes to the Opera
1516. House. Go to the main desk and give the usher your Tickets. You
1517. will be escorted to your seat. (After completing the scene that
1518. follows, you'll be joined by Maria.)
  1519.
  1520.
1521. Turtle's Carrot: Find this in the desert near Figaro. Give it to a
1522. Chocoboto find Scott, or give it to the Turtle to find Erdrick.
  1523.
1524. Ultima Axe: If you equip the Chocobo Axe for 255 fights, it turns
1525. into the Ultima Axe. This teaches you Ultima2.
  1526.
1527. White Gun: Go into Kefka's or Sabin's Tower through the secret rear
1528. entrance and head downward. Eventually you'll go through a cave and
1529. enter the Focus Tower. Inside the Focus Tower you can find the White
1530. Gun. Fire the Black Gun at the White Gun and Kefka will receive the
  1531. God! SwdTech.
  1532.
1533. Zero Parts: Bet the Radar Tracer at the Esper Street Fight Arena
1534. (this is the only item you can bet here). You'll get the Airship
1535. Radar. Give it to Cid and he will equip it on the airship. Next
1536. time you are on the airship you'll see three flashing dots at random
1537. locations on the small map in the corner. These are the locations of
1538. the X hunters from Mega Man X2. Head to the cave or town that the
1539. light is pointing at and search for the X hunter there. Beat it and
1540. you will receive a Zero Part. (Note the X hunters locations changes
1541. each time you get on or off the airship). Once you have all three
1542. parts, take them to the Colloseum, and Dr. Light will rebuild Zero
  1543. for you.
  1544.
  1545.
  1546. CURSED ITEMS:
  1547.
1548. Note: there are two of every cursed item, but it's only possible to
1549. uncurseone of them. The best way to do this is with Akuma's Uncurse
1550. command, though it doesn't work on some of the cursed items which
1551. have particularly strong curses. If you lose any cursed items, you
1552. can find them in the FF2 Underworld, in the magma near the Dwarf
  1553. castle.
  1554.
1555. Cursed Ring: Kakef is equipped with one of these when you get him.
1556. If you uncurse it, Kakef gains the Invisibility ability when equipped
1557. with it. You can Steal the other from enemies in Kefka's or Sabin's
  1558. Tower.
  1559.
1560. Cursed Helmet: Jax is equipped with the first Cursed Helmet when you
1561. get him. To get the other Cursed Helmet, you have to uncurse the
1562. Cursed Boots so you can walk over the magma in the Cave to the Sealed
  1563. Gate.
  1564.
1565. Cursed Armor: Kakef is wearing one of these when you get him. The
1566. other one is hidden in Narshe, near the Mind Control Helmet.
  1567.
1568. Cursed Rod: One is found in a treasure chest in the third level of
1569. theAncient Castle. You can uncurse it in 255 battles.
1570. Unfortunately, it casts Ultima on your party every time you use it,
1571. so it is best to use Akuma's Uncurse command. After you Uncurse it,
1572. you'll get the Cross, as well as the Paladin Rod. You can get the
1573. other one from killing enemies in the FF2 Underworld.
  1574.
1575. Cursed Arrows: A character becomes equipped with this after being
1576. brainwashed by the Ultima2 spell, and your characters can get
1577. confused when they're hit by these.
  1578.
1579. Cursed Sword: One of these is hidden in a chest in the cave leading
1580. from the Esper Street Fight Arena to WarioLand. The other is
1581. equipped by Zemus when you get him.
  1582.
1583. Cursed Loafers: Buy the first pair of Cursed Loafers from the hidden
1584. shoestore behind the painting in Jidoor, and uncurse them with
1585. Akuma's Uncurseability. The second pair is equipped by the guy at
1586. the end of Mario isMissing, Lemmy Koopa. He'll give them up when
  1587. you beat him.
  1588.
1589. Cursed Boots: The first pair is hidden in Fanatics Tower, right
1590. behind the third staircase from the top. The second pair is equipped
1591. by Jago when you get him. (Don't unequip them, or he won't be able
1592. to use his spin kick.)
  1593.
1594. Cursed Beret: The most mysterious cursed item of all. If you equip
1595. Gogo with any four cursed items, Gogo casts a Muddle spell on your
1596. airship and all the characters in there will attack your current
1597. party. While you're fighting them, the moon from FF2 will crash
1598. lands on one of your party members and FuSoYa and Golbez will attack
1599. you with the White Meteo spell. If you defeat them all, Golbez gives
1600. you the first Cursed Beret. Rayden (from MK2) flies out of the cave
1601. where Umaro first appears if you return to Narshe after getting the
1602. Ultros Esper. He's wearing the second Cursed Beret, but, being a
1603. thunder god, he won't give it to you. (He just flies over to you and
1604. says, "Ha ha. I've got the second Cursed Beret and you can't have
1605. it," then he flies off.)
  1606.
1607. Cursed Emerald: The first Cursed Emerald is hidden on the FF2 Moon.
1608. Just enter the crystal chamber, and the 8 crystals will combine to
1609. form the Cursed Emerald. To get the other Cursed Emerald, get out
1610. your Sonic & Knuckles cart for the Sega Genesis; the Lock-on
1611. technology works for FFIII, too! Just plug FFIII into Sonic &
1612. Knuckles, and you will be able to find the Hidden Emerald Chamber.
1613. If you collect 100 rings with Knuckles, you will win the Cursed
  1614. Emerald.
  1615.
  1616.
  1617. ESPERS:
  1618.
1619. Bahamut: In the SUPER SECRET SECRET SECRET ULTRA ENDING, you'll get
1620. this in Bahamut's cave after you defeat Bahamut. It teaches you
1621. Nuke10 and Bio8. If you play through regularly and get it by killing
1622. Doomgaze, you can bet this Esper in the Colosseum, and you'll fight
1623. and join up with the Hero from Breath of Fire.
  1624.
1625. Bowser: Challenge Bowser in the Esper Street Fight Arena, beat him,
1626. andyou'll get his Esper. Make sure to equip it on Luigi, because if
1627. *anyone*else tries to use it (yes, including Mario and Toad) you'll
1628. lose Relm --Bowser thinks she's Princess Toadstool. (You can fight
1629. Bowser if you really want her back.)
  1630.
1631. Chocobo: You can get this in the Chocobo forest outside Baron. It
1632. teaches you Vanish2, whichworks well against Sabin. Warning: You
1633. must choose between the Chocobo Esper and the Chocobo Axe, which
  1634. teaches you Ultima2 after 255 fights.
  1635.
1636. Dryad: Teaches you Mana Magic, Blaster, and Sleep. You'll receive
1637. this after defeating Sigma's WarMech.
  1638.
1639. Siggy: You'll get this when Siggy joins your party. It teaches you
  1640. Fire28, Fire!!, Ultima4, Shock, Shock2, and Shuck.
  1641.
1642. Splitting up the Ultros/Odin/Raiden Esper: Take the Ultros Esper back
1643. to the Esper village. Talk to Madonna, after you have General Leo
1644. resurrect her. She will betray Maduin's love and fall in love with
1645. Odin (Madonna is Odin's second secret mistress eluded to in the Odin
1646. dream of Mog. There was a secret mistress to Odin already, wasn't
1647. there?). Madonna will make love to Odin, and form _another_
1648. half-esper child. This one will fly away and turn into Raiden.
1649. Madonna will be distraught and become an Esper herself. Odin will
1650. explode into three pieces; the Ultros Esper, the Odin Esper, and the
1651. Raiden Esper. (Odin was inside the Ultros Esper all along, which is
1652. how he was able to communicate to Madonna.) Note: To do this scene,
1653. you first have to have transformed Odin to Raiden, then Raiden to
  1654. Ultros.
  1655.
1656. Statue Espers: Kefka can call these when equipped with the
  1657. appropriatecommand.
  1658.
1659. Ultros: You can upgrade Raiden to become the Ultros Esper in the
1660. underwater cave. If you equip Ultros with the Ultros Esper, it
1661. teaches everyone the Tentacle spell, and it does a cinema scene where
1662. Ultros realizes, for the third time at least, that he is just an
  1663. octopus.
  1664.
  1665.
  1666. HOW TO GET WHERE:
1667. World of Balance: First fight a group of enemies outside the Opera
1668. House in the World or Ruin, and cheese them by using the Vanish-Doom
1669. technique. You'll win the Cheese. Take the Cheese up to the rafters
1670. above the stage and use it. In a few seconds, a whole herd of rats
1671. will come out and fight for the Cheese. Challenge their leader,
1672. Rattatooie. If you beat him, you'll open up a secret warp to the
1673. W.O.B. Once there, head north and fight the four miniature Atma
1674. Beasts. If you kill them, a secret passage to the airship Falcon
1675. will appear. You can now use this airship to fly anywhere you want.
1676. Points of interest include Intangir's island (where you can get
1677. Edge), and the Cave to the Sealed Gate, where you can get Meltdown
1678. and the Cursed Helmet. You can go back through the warp to return to
  1679. the World of Ruin.
1680. If you bring Gogo through the warp with you, he'll go crazy and
1681. leave, changing his name to GoneGone, and you'll be stuck in the
1682. W.O.B. and unable to save your game. You can then find Jago if you
1683. fly to Mt.Koltz. Take him and your other three party members to
  1684. GoneGone with Jago'sspin kick.
  1685.
1686. FF2 Overworld: You can cross over to the Overworld of FF2 through the
1687. time machine in the Ancient Castle, which is right past Cecil's
1688. greatgrandson inthe third basement. (Like the W.O.B., only four
1689. characters can go at once.) If you have both GesthalZ and Kefka in
1690. your party, Zemus will join you as soon as you arrive. (He'll take
1691. the 5th character spot, which you have whilein FF2, and he'll meet
1692. you in your airship if you return to FF3.) Otherwise, you'll fight
1693. Zemus and he'll suck you back through the portal with Black Hole.
1694. After Zemus joins you, sneak up on the engineers and steal
1695. the airship Enterprise, which you can use to fly anywhere. Points of
1696. interest: Drill through the mountain north of Agart to reach the
1697. Underworld, or fly to Mysidia and get the Big Whale to go to the
1698. Moon. From the Moon, you can fly back to FF3 through some hole in
1699. the Space-Time continuum to get your other party members.
  1700.
1701. FF2 Underworld: There are two ways to get here. 1. You can steal
1702. theEnterprise while in FF2 Overworld, and drill down through the
1703. mountain north of Agart. 2. Build your own airship from parts at
1704. the auction, then take off without attaching the Crystal of Flight.
1705. You'll crash and end up in the Underworld. However, once you find
1706. Cid (if you haven't done the scene where he admits to building the
1707. airships and blows himself up, it'll skip the scene and he'll appear
1708. here anyway), he'll repair your airship. If you take this route,
1709. you'll lose your chance to get Zemus in the Overworld, but he'll
1710. appear on the Moon later. While here (by either route), you can join
1711. up with Cid, as well as Luca. You can also find any Cursed items
1712. that you've dropped in the magma near the castle.
  1713.
1714. FF2 Moon: There are two ways to get here as well, but they depend on
1715. your route to the Underworld. 1. Equip the Crystal of Flight on
1716. either Figaro Castle (Edgar's throne) or on the airship you built
1717. from the parts at the auction (don't worry, they sell a second one
1718. after the guy and his daughter fly away), and you can fly to the FF2
1719. Moon from anywhere by talking to the crystal. (Afterwards, fly to
1720. the FF2 Overworld and enter Baron with Kefka and GesthalZ in your
1721. party to get Zemus.) 2. If you crash the airship into the
1722. Underworld, find Cid, so he can repair it. After this, fly to
1723. Mysidia and talk to the Elder. The Elder and all his followers will
1724. start wishing away, and eventually the Big Whale will rise out of the
1725. water. Once you enter the Big Whale, it'll show a cinema scene of
1726. Zemus flying off to the Moon. Follow him into Lunar Subteranne, and
1727. he'll join your party. (You'll need Kefka and GesthalZ to convince
1728. him that you're bad guys.)
1729. Note: If you find and defeat Bahamut, you'll get X-Morph for Terra.
1730. When you use it, X-Morph turns her into a dragon like Bahamut (the
1731. Fight command in battle is replaced by MegaFlare when morphed) and
  1732. lasts twice as long.
  1733.
1734. Esper Street Fight Arena: Take Cid to the Colosseum. Have a party
1735. member bet something cheap to make Chupon appear. The fighter will
1736. get sneezed out of the arena. Fight Chupon again. (Remember, you
1737. _want_ to be sneezed.) Do this 5 times, and Cid will get sick of
1738. this and makes some cold medicine. (It turns out Chupon only had a
1739. cold! That's why he's been sneezing!) Send Cid into the arena after
1740. he says he's made the medicine, and he'll give it to Chupon
1741. automatically. Chupon will be so grateful that he will become Cid's
1742. best buddy and give Cid a big wet kiss. Ken, Ryu, Jax, and Akuma
1743. (whether they're in the airship, in your party, or in the stands)
1744. will become so angry at the whole business that they'll destroy the
1745. Colosseum. Now, you will need to take Edgar and Cid into the ruined
1746. Colosseum. They'll rebuild it in their own image (kind of a bizarre
1747. mix between Castle Figaro and the Magitek Research Facility). In a
1748. trap door, there will be a special arena designed specifically for
1749. the Street Fighter characters, Ken and Ryu, but you can take anybody
1750. you want in there. A whole bunch of Espers fly in there and take it
1751. over, and it becomes the Esper Street Fight Arena. (BTW, the New
1752. Colosseum will work just like the old one, but Chupon will be
1753. replaced with Siegfried, or Ultros if Siggy joined you, or Darth
1754. Vader if bothSiggy and Ultros joined you. And no, you can't get
1755. Darth Vader to joinyou!!!) While in the arena, defeat Bowser to get
  1756. his Esper.
  1757.
1758. WarioLand: Go through the cave just past the Esper Street Fight
1759. Arena; you'll appear in Wario's castle. The castle will appear to be
1760. vacant, but sleep in Wario's bed and you'll be attacked by the Dark
1761. Luigi. (You can also find the Iceball after you beat him.) The shop
1762. near Wario's castle is run by Tony, so you can get him here if you
1763. missed him in Mario is Missing.
  1764.
1765. The restored world: Take the Crystal of Flight with you into Figaro
1766. Castleand place it on Edgar's throne. Now talk to the crystal and
1767. Figaro Castle will fly through the air. While on the Moon, go to
1768. Bahumut's Cave Subteranne2, where you can fight the Pink Pugs. The
1769. Pink Pugs always give you the PugTail if you beat them. Equip this
1770. (it's cursed) and fight for 2.55 battles. (It gets uncursed just
1771. after you've killed half the bad guys in the third battle.) It will
1772. turn into the Kefka Suit, the only suit in the game which can bring
1773. the world back into balance. To do this, first equip Kefka with both
1774. it and the Paladin Sword, then go to Bahamut's Cave Subteranne 4,
1775. where you fight the Black Hole Dragon (looks like a Zone Eater). As
1776. soon as the fight begins, the dragon will suck Kefka in and lights
1777. will flash. You'll then control Kefka alone inside a secret cave.
1778. Go through the cave (it's similar to GoGo's cave) and you'll meet
1779. Kakef at the end. It turns out that's Kakef is really Reptile from
1780. MK2, and he's just been disguised as your brother all along. The
1781. Paladin Sword with Y-Fight works well on him, but you can beat him
1782. easily when he disappears by casting the You Lose spell. After you
1783. kill him, the dragon will spit you out along with the Dragon God
1784. Sword. (If you fight the dragon without Kefka and the right
1785. equipment, he'll die and return to life later.) Pick the sword up,
1786. and the World will be restored to Balance when you return. As soon
1787. as you land, GoGo will go berserk and turn into GoneGone, just like
1788. if you brought him there the other way. However, now it'll do a
1789. scene where Kefka challenges GoneGone alone, equipped with both the
1790. Paladin Sword and the Dragon God Sword. Since Gonegone will
1791. summonall of you other characters from the airship, the battle
1792. against GoneGone and his tower will be a long hard one, but
1793. fortunately GeshtalZ, Zemus, and Garland will join you as you fight.
1794. (You heard me right; you use the _bad_ guys and you fight the _good_
1795. guys.) When you win, it does the GoneGone ending and the Bad Guys
  1796. Win ending.
  1797.
  1798.
1799. Timewalk: Take the warp from the Opera House to the W.O.B., but,
1800. whileinside, go to the secret side path rather than straight ahead.
1801. If yougo to the left, you'll eventually find a monster-in-a-box,
1802. Atma Armor. Defeat him and you'll get the Black Gun. If you take
1803. the path to the right, you'll end up in the Timeless World, at the
1804. entrance of the Paladin Castle. Show the guards at the entrance the
1805. Demon Sword, and you'll get the Demon Ring. Inside the palace,
1806. you'll see a scene between Celes and Kefka where Kefka gives her a
1807. ring (presumedly the Demon Ring) and Celes promises to marry him.
  1808.
1809. Timeless World: Leave through the rear of the Temple of the Paladin
1810. andfollow the path. You'll reach the Cult Tower (not the Fanatics
1811. Tower, but similar.) Youcan't use magic or Espers inside, so it is
1812. difficult to get through. At the top of the Tower, you'll find the
1813. cult's leader, Ishmu (he looks similar to Kefka). When he sees you,
1814. he'll order his general, Cowkef, to attack you. He'll fight you
1815. while assisted by soldiers from the Order of the Ebon Cow. After you
1816. defeat them, you'll rescue another character also called Cid, who is
1817. from FF4 (FF7 in Japan). You'll also receive the 12 Sealed Weapons,
1818. which you need to defeat Exodus.
  1819.
1820. Focus Tower: Go into Kefka's or Sabin's Tower through the secret
1821. rearentrance and head downward. Eventually you'll go through a cave
1822. and enterthe Focus Tower, from Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Inside
1823. the Focus Tower you can find the White Gun.
  1824.
1825. City in the Clouds/ Necrosaro's Castle: Send the Note to the Greater
1826. Dragon King by passenger pigeon, and he'll take you to the City in
1827. the Clouds. While here, you can find the 8 Dragon Crowns. Give the
1828. 8 Dragon Crowns to the 8 Dragons and kill the Great Flying Darth.
1829. You'll now return to the City in the Clouds. Climb up to the top of
1830. the highest cloud and jump off; you'll end up at the entrance of the
1831. cave surrounded by mountains on Necrosaro's Island. Go through the
1832. cave to reach Necrosaro's Castle and the Last Refuge. (This is
1833. explained fully in the Mystery Dragon Ending.)
  1834.
  1835.
  1836. ENDINGS:
1837. There are ten secret endings. However, during the game, you can go
1838. through a series of events which, when completed, changes your ending
1839. slightly. The events are as follow, and the ending changes are
1840. listed below each ending (under Special):
  1841.
  1842. SPECIAL ENDING EVENTS:
1843. 1. You'll need the Paladin Sword to start. Equip it on any character
  1844.
1845. besides Gogo. (See ending 3 for explanation.) It also helps to
1846. bring Mario in case you mess up.
  1847.
1848. 2. Go to the Opera house with a party including Mario and the
  1849. character.
1850. 3. Fight the rats and warp back to the World of Balance. (If the
1851. rats areall gone, just cheese the bad guys outside the Opera House
1852. by usingVanish-Doom. You'll get the Cheese. Use it on the rafters
  1853. to call morerats.)
1854. 4. Travel to the Serpent Trench.
1855. 5. Dive in, making sure that Mario is leading the party.
1856. 6. Go RIGHT at every decision point.
1857. 7. Eventually you will come to a dead end. Instead of spinning you
1858. aroundand making you go back like the game used to, it will stop.
1859. After a fewseconds, Leviathan will attack. Your character will go
1860. berserk (apparently the Paladin Sword wasn't Uncursed completely) and
1861. continually attack Leviathan with the Paladin Sword. This should
  1862. kill Leviathan.
1863. 8.When Leviathan dies, Rydia from FF2 will appear. She will be mad
1864. and want to destroy you for killing Leviathan. She tells you how her
1865. parents were killed and all that good stuff. She says, "You
1866. murderers can't understand!" and is about to attack, but your
1867. characters explain about their war against the Empire, about the
1868. poisoning of Doma, etc., and she understands and accepts you as
1869. friends. She tells you to follow her.
1870. 9. This is hard. You have to follow her through a cave, and if you
1871. don'tkeep up with her you'll lose her and have to start right after
1872. Leviathan again. Besides getting through the maze, the only way out
1873. is to have Mario smash the ceiling, which puts you back out on your
1874. airship. (That is why you brought Mario.)
1875. 10. If you keep up with Rydia, then you will come to the exit of the
1876. cave. Outside the cave you'll find yourself right near Eblan, in the
1877. FF2 Overworld. (If you try to get here by the other way, the castle
1878. will be locked.) Enter the castle, and Rydiawill be in the castle's
1879. throne room with her husband Edge. They will invite you to dinner
1880. with them that evening. Accept the invitation, then sleep in one of
1881. the castle beds. The dinner will begin when you awake. (Note: If
1882. you've already found Edge, Rydia will host the dinner party herself.
1883. If Edge is in your party, he'll welcome you to the castle, but he
1884. won't leave to fight Intangirs later.)
  1885.
1886. There are many guests at the dinner party.
  1887. They are:
  1888. Rydia
  1889. Edge
  1890. Pit (from Kid Icarus)
1891. The Sprite from Secret of Mana
  1892. Diddy Kong
  1893. Ridley
1894. Bill and Lance (The two guys from Contra)
1895. Princess Zelda (She is a snob!)
  1896. Bubsy
  1897. Kirby
1898. Ryu Hayabusa (from Ninja Gaiden)
  1899. Chewbacca
  1900.
  1901.
1902. Lots of people!! After the party, they'll all join you except Edge,
1903. the Sprite, and Zelda. (Edge says something about leaving to fight
1904. Intangirs, a clue to finding him later.) You won't be able to
1905. control them, but they'll follow you everywhere, like in Dragon
1906. Warrior. You'll return to your airship through a door in the back of
1907. the castle, bringing them all along. At this point, Rydia will join
1908. you as a playable character.
  1909.
  1910.
  1911. REGULAR ENDINGS:
1912. 1. Sabin Ending: If you equip Sabin with any four Cursed Items
1913. simultaneously (I recommend the Cursed Sword, the Cursed Armor, the
1914. Cursed Shield, and the Cursed Helmet), Sabin turns to a Dark Knight,
1915. KILLS Kefka, and takes over the world for himself. Pretty cool.
1916. Instead of fightingKefka at the end, you fight him. He is almost
1917. impossible to beat. The Vanish and X-zone or Doom trick does not
1918. work on him and almost nothing can hit him. A good group of
1919. characters to attack Sabin with are Ryu, Ken, Akuma, and any fourth
1920. party member. If you bring Ryum make sure he has the Fireball
1921. equipped; he'll stuff Sabin at the beginning of the fight and stop
1922. him from chanting Ultima2. Otherwise, Sabin will always cast Ultima2
1923. right away and all of your characters from the airship will form a
1924. tower under him, just like in the GoneGone ending. (Talk about an
1925. impossible fight; they all have Cursed Arrows equipped!)
  1926.
1927. Special: You'll see the ending for the groups of friends all
1928. together. They all come out and each do a little move characteristic
1929. of them while escaping from the Tower. The Contra guys blast a hole
1930. in a wall through which you escape, Pit flies over a hole and throws
1931. a switch to extend a bridge and allow the rest to cross, etc. I
1932. don't want to tell you all of them; beat it and see for yourself.
  1933.
  1934.
1935. 2. Bad Guys Win Ending: If you use Kefka, Kakef, GesthalZ, and
1936. Zemus together to infiltrate Sabin's Tower and fight Sabin, you'll
1937. get to see aspecial ending. Kefka takes over the world and the
1938. following scenes are really neat, but unfortunately Exodus kills him.
1939. It also shows a scene of Garlandlaughing in some remote castle.
  1940.
1941. Special: No difference, except that you see the new characters get
  1942. killedtoo.
  1943.
  1944.
1945. 3. GoneGone Ending: If you take Gogo back to the World of
1946. Balance, he'll become GoneGone and proceed to take over the world.
1947. After you do this, you'll be stuck in the W.O.B. and won't be able to
1948. save your game. Climb to the top of Mt. Koltz and find Jago, then
1949. use his Hangon spell and his spin kick to reach GoneGone. When the
1950. fight starts, GoneGone casts the Figual spell (from Lufia) and
1951. Muddles all the characters on your airship, which you then have to
1952. fight tier by tier, just like Kefka's Tower of Monsters. (If you
1953. equip Gogo with four cursed items at any point in the game, the same
1954. thing happens.) When you defeat them, you face GoneGone. The best
1955. characters to use against GoneGone are Kefka and Kakef (their Twin
1956. attack works well), Akuma (just Uncurse GoneGone four times to defeat
1957. him), or Leo (Burn works really well). You also have Jago, because
1958. it's impossible to get to GoneGone without the Spin Kick. (Unless
1959. you do the Ultra Combo Ending.)
  1960.
  1961. Special: None.
  1962.
  1963.
1964. 4. M.Bison Ending: Contrary to popular belief, it _is_ possible
1965. to fight M.Bison at the end. Put Ryu, Ken, and Akuma in your party,
1966. and enter Tzen. A warp zone will open up, and you'll find yourself
  1967. at M. Bison's stage in Thailand. It'll switch to a one-on-one battle
1968. of Akuma vs. M. Bison and the screen will turn white. Use the Fight
1969. command six times consecutively, and M. Bison will be dead (Akuma
1970. does two 3 hit combos, just like in the arcade). Though you don't
1971. actually save the world from Kefka, Sabin, or GoneGone, the credits
1972. now start rolling and you have to reset the game to keep playing, so
1973. this is considered an ending.
  1974.
  1975. Special: None.
  1976.
  1977.
1978. 5. The Espers-Don't-Die Ending: If you find Meltdown, Leo,
1979. Mario, and Baram, you can see a special ending. Bring those four
1980. characters (along with any others you want) into Kefka's Tower. To
1981. help you get through the tower, we recommend using the following
  1982. Character -- Esper pairs:
  1983.
1984. Meltdown -- Bowser Gen Leo -- Alexandr Kappa -- Starlet
1985. Terra -- Chocobo Gogo -- Maduin Baram -- Raiden*
1986. Locke -- Kirin Ryu -- Tritoch Luigi -- Zoneseek
1987. Sabin -- Odin Gau -- Ultros Mario -- Dryad
  1988.
  1989.
1990. * You have to separate the Ultros Esper back into the three parts to
1991. get Raiden, Odin, and Ultros.
1992. When you win the game, the Espers will not die, but change back to
  1993. living beings.
  1994.
1995. Special: Same as ending 1.
  1996.
  1997.
1998. 6. Erdrick Ending: After finding Erdrick, a scene happens
1999. immediately after the next time Kefka appears on screen. (Note: Like
2000. the Mega Man X Hadoken trick, you have to find Erdrick and do the
2001. scene without saving it.) Kefka and Erdrick warp to Mobliz and begin
2002. fighting. Kefka attacks with Laugh and Moo, but Moo hits just as
2003. Erdrick is jumping, changing Erdrick into a cow. For about 5
2004. minutes, Kefka keeps casting spells until the cow falls on him. The
2005. credits roll and the cow breaks the ledge it's standing on. With
2006. Kefka under him, he falls into the lava.
  2007.
2008. Special: None, since this doesn't show your characters at the end.
  2009.
  2010.
2011. 7. Mystery Dragon Ending: This ending is so secret, even the
2012. programmers at SquareSoft don't know about it yet. There's a Note on
2013. one of the tables when you first visit the Returner's Hideout. If you
2014. have Terra look at it, she has the option of throwing it away or
2015. leaving it alone. If she leaves it there, Banon will show up and
2016. throw it away a little later. In the World of Ruin, get Cid to join
2017. your party, and take him back to where the Hideout would be in the
2018. Serpent Trench. Cid will dig up the Note. Take it to the passenger
2019. pigeons in Maranda, and send it off. The Greater Dragon King will
2020. show up, and take you to the City in the Clouds, where you get the
2021. Eight Dragon Crowns. Give the eight Dragon Crowns to all eight
2022. Dragons. (If you've already killed them, just wander around the
2023. Veldt for a while and they'll fight you again.) Once the last Dragon
2024. gets its Crown, the sky will turn black and you'll fight the Great
2025. Flying Darth. Beat it, and the Greater Dragon King will appear and
2026. once again carry you back up to the City in the Clouds. Go to the
2027. top of the highest cloud and jump off. You'll end up on Necrosaro's
2028. Island in Dragon Warrior 4, at the entrance of the cave blocked by
2029. mountains. Go through the cave and come out; you'll end up at the
2030. Last Refuge and the entrance to Necrosaro's castle will be unlocked.
2031. The ghost at the Last Refuge will give you the Airship Horn. Go
2032. through the castle and use the Airship Horn on the other side. Your
2033. airship will appear with all of your other party members, and it will
2034. follow you like a wagon. Climb the volcano to where Necrosaro stood
2035. and you'll find Garland. As you fight him, he'll morph into Chaos,
2036. piece by piece, while you knock off 200,000 hit points. When he
2037. appears to be dying, he'll morph again and turn into Zeromus. After
2038. you take off about 106,000 more hit points, he'll turn into Exodus (a
2039. giant tree). Knock off about 50,000 more hit points, and he'll
2040. finally turn into Kefka. Now you only need to knock off about 65,000
2041. more hit points to kill him. He returns to his original form,
2042. Garland, as he dies. Though 421,000 hit points seems a little high,
2043. you should be able to beat him easily if you have 30 or more secret
2044. characters, in addition to the 14 original ones. The ending shows
2045. your characters in black and white as they climb out through
2046. Necrosaro's castle and cave, then it takes you back up to the City in
2047. the Clouds for a Dragon Warrior 4 type conclusion.
  2048.
2049. Special: It shows all the extra characters in the City in the Clouds,
2050. and they each say a line or two.
  2051.
  2052.
2053. 8. Ultra Combo ending: (This is tricky to do. Note: All
2054. characters except Kefka will appear in these scenes whether or not
2055. they've joined you.) Put Kefka in your party. Take the Crystal of
2056. Flight (from the Ancient Castle) with you into Figaro Castle and
2057. place it on Edgar's throne. Now talk to the crystal and Figaro
2058. Castle will fly through the air and land on the FF2 Moon. While on
2059. the Moon, go to Bahamut's Cave Subteranne 3, where you can fight the
2060. Pink Pugs. The Pink Pugs always give you the Pug tail if you beat
2061. them. Equip this (it's cursed) and fight for 2.55 battles. (It gets
2062. uncursed just after you've killed half the bad guys in the third
2063. battle.) It will turn into the Kefka Suit, the only suit in the game
2064. which can bring the world back into balance.
2065. Now, equip Kefka with both the Kefka Suit and the Paladin
2066. Sword, and he'll be able to unlock the seal on the entrance to
2067. Bahamut's Cave Subteranne 4. Take him down there and you'll fight
2068. the Black Hole Dragon (looks like a Zone Eater). As soon as the
2069. fight begins, the dragon will suck Kefka in and lights will flash.
2070. You'll then control Kefka alone inside a secret cave. Go through the
2071. cave (it's similar to GoGo's cave) and you'll meet Kakef at the end.
2072. It turns out that Kakef is really Reptile from MK2, and he's just
2073. been disguised as your brother all along. The Paladin Sword with
2074. Y-Fight works well on him, but you can beat him easily when he
2075. disappears by casting the You Lose spell. After you kill him, the
2076. dragon will spit you out along with the Dragon God Sword. Pick the
2077. sword up, and a scene will start where you flythe airship back to
2078. FF3, but the World will be restored to Balance when you return.
2079. You'll land outside the Opera House.
2080. As soon as you land, GoGo will go berserk and turn into
2081. GoneGone, just like if you brought him here through the Opera House
2082. warp. Now it'll do a scene where Kefka challenges GoneGone, equipped
2083. with both the Paladin Sword and the Dragon God Sword. Since Gonegone
2084. will summon all of your other characters from the airship, the battle
2085. against GoneGone and his Tower of Heroes will be a long, hard one,
2086. but fortunately the Dragon God Sword randomly casts Life3 on your
2087. party while you fight, and GeshtalZ, Zemus, and Garland will join you
2088. as you progress up the tower. (You heard me right; you use the _bad_
2089. guys and you fight the _good_ guys.) Kill all the good guys, then
2090. you'll face GoneGone. Since you can't use Kakef, Leo, or Akuma
2091. against him, he's harder to beat, but a good strategy is to use
2092. Kefka's Double spell and keep attacking, GeshtalZ's PMorph and keep
2093. attacking, Zemus's Big Bang repeatedly, and Garland's Morph and keep
2094. attacking. If you're about to lose, do Garland's Warp to start the
  2095. battle over again.
2096. After you win, it'll do a short scene in the basement of the
2097. rich man's house in South Figaro. Kefka and Celes will be walking
2098. through, looking for Kefka's tux so he can marry Celes. (This makes
2099. sense if you did the scene in the Paladin Castle.) They'll walk past
2100. the second prison room and hear a muffled cry for help, then this
  2101. dialogue commences:
2102. KEFKA: "?? What was that noise?"
2103. CELES: "What is it, Kefka?"
2104. KEFKA: "I thought I... what?? Could it be?" (He looks into the
  2105. prison room.)
  2106. CELES: "What? What?"
2107. KEFKA: "It's Kakef! Kakef's in there! Kakef!" (At this point, Kefka
2108. rips the door from its hinges.)
2109. KEFKA: "Kakef!" (Kakef is in shackles on the wall.)
2110. KEFKA: "Brother! Are you all right?" (Kefka unties and ungags
  2111. Kakef.)
2112. KAKEF: "Re... Reptile! Where is that stinking lizard? I'll tear
  2113. him to pieces!"
2114. KEFKA: "He's gone, along with all the other bad guys. This world's
2115. going to be a fun place to live in again!"
2116. KAKEF: "You mean you're a good guy now, too? All right! Who's
  2117. that?"
2118. KEFKA: "This is my bride-to-be, CELES. We're getting married as soon
2119. as I find my tux. Say, would you be my best man?"
2120. After the wedding, it shows the GoneGone Ending and the Bad
2121. Guys Win Ending. Then it shows the Espers Don't Die Ending, then the
2122. Erdrick Ending, then the Mystery Dragon Ending, and finally the SUPER
2123. SUPER SUPER SECRET ULTRA ENDING. (Then the words "6 ending, 1
2124. wedding ULTRA COMBO" appear on the screen, and it says
2125. "Ultraaaaaaaaaa Combo!!" That's why this is called the Ultra Combo
  2126. ending.)
  2127.
  2128.
2129. Special: It does the special version of each of the 6 endings instead
2130. of the regular version, and it writes "6 special ending, 1 awesome
2131. wedding ULTRA COMBO" on the screen at the end instead of the normal
  2132. writing.
  2133.
  2134.
2135. 9. SUPER SUPER SUPER SECRET ULTRA ENDING: I bet nobody found the
2136. SUPER SUPER SUPER SECRET ULTRA ENDING in FF3. At the start of the
2137. game, get Wedge and Vicks to level 59 before you find the Esper.
2138. (Make sure you found all of the cursed items; just wait 2 hours in
2139. front of the cave and Umaro will jump out and give them to you.) The
2140. Esper will kill Terra but spare Wedge and Vicks. You'll then head
2141. back to Vector where you'll get to control the Empire. Gesthal has
2142. wicked magic (just like GeshtalZ), and Kefka rocks, even before he
2143. gets the statue powers. Leo is good but you have to kill him when he
2144. switches sides. Head to the Opera House; Kefka and Gesthal will
2145. start to sing a duet, and when the audience starts to boo they will
2146. use their magic to destroy the whole place. The Impresario will then
2147. turn into Dr. Lugae from FF2. Kill him to get the Bahamut Esper
2148. (Teaches Nuke10 and Bio8). Head to Doma and brainwash Cyan with
2149. Kefka's Laugh. Then head to every town and wreak massive
2150. destruction. (You'll fight Returners as bosses.)
2151. After you get bored of wreaking destruction, revive the
2152. Floating Continent and destroy the world. (Kefka will kill Gesthal,
2153. but then he will have a tough fight against Wedge and Vicks.) Now,
2154. just use the Light of Judgement to destroy all the new towns until
2155. you get bored. When the heroes come, use Fallen One and Havok Wing
2156. to destroy them. Go find Gogo and Umaro and take them plus Cyan (who
2157. is still brainwashed) to Doma and enter Cyan's dream. Instead of
2158. Larry, Moe, and Curley, you'll fight the Hero, Girl, and Sprite from
2159. Secret of Mana. Once you win, you'll get the Flammie Drum. Call
2160. Flammie and head to the fortress. Use the time machine and head to
2161. FF2, then use the fortress's power to make the moon crash into the
2162. world. The screen will go black and the game will become FF1 (only
2163. you use Kefka, Akuma, Zemus, and GesthalZ as characters). Play
2164. through FF1, and when you win (Laugh works well against Chaos) a
2165. really long ending will start. I can't tell you what happens because
2166. I always have to eat supper just when it starts. That is how you get
2167. the SUPER SECRET SECRET SECRET ULTRA ENDING.
  2168.
2169. Special: You can't possibly get the secret characters with this
  2170. ending.
  2171.
  2172.
2173. 10. Ultimate Ending: First, get the Sealed Weapons from the
2174. Timeless World by beating Cowkef. Then go to the FF2 Moon in either
2175. the Big Whale, the Auction House airship, or Figaro Castle. Enter
2176. FuSoYa's cave and head down to the center of the moon. Equip all the
  2177. Sealed Weapons, which include:
  2178. Excalipur
  2179. Masamune
  2180. Doom Bow
  2181. Berserk Axe
  2182. Pink Pug tail (whip)
  2183. Cow Bell
  2184. Excalibur
  2185. Love bow
  2186. Cupid arrows
  2187. Paladin Sword
  2188. Moon Staff
  2189. Moon Rod
  2190.
2191. Exodus will appear, and you'll fight him. When you beat him, he'll
2192. cast Ultima4 and wreak havok across the W.O.R., FF2 World, and the
2193. Timeless World, merging them into the World Beyond Ruin (W.B.R.) A
2194. lot of places will be gone now and Terra's Castle (Teratio) will
2195. appear. The screen will go dark, and you'll end up right outside
2196. Teratio with only Terra, Cecil, Zemus, Kefka, and ????? in your
2197. party. ????? claims to be the last guy from FF4 (FF7 in Japan), and
2198. you can't control him. Go inside the castle and head up to the 7th
2199. floor throne room. Inside is Garland, who explains that the entire
2200. FF series is just a time loop, and that your characters are actually
2201. all good guys, and that he's been tricking you into fighting each
2202. other all along. (He says a little and takes a step back twice, just
2203. like in FF1.) Garland will then Morph into Chaos, and you'll fight
2204. him. The best strategy is to use Terra's Morph and Atma Weapon/
2205. Excalipur attack, Cecil's Paladin Sword attack, Zemus's Black Hole
2206. and Meteo spell, and Kefka's Double spell, followed by the R. Mage
2207. rage. ????? will attack and use some really strange spell called
2208. Moogual, which works pretty well. Garland has 200,000 hit points.
2209. Once you beat him, you'll see the modified FF1, FF2, FFE, FF3 combo
2210. ending, which is similar to the endings of the four games combined,
2211. and goes on for over an hour.
  2212.
2213. Special: What, don't you think the ending is special enough already?
