Stranger: Thank you, Jim. Lenny has been in horrible shape since he got home. -EM

You: Think he'd be okay with you telling me what happened? JTK

Stranger: If he's not I'm his mother and I can tell you anyway. -EM

Stranger: He was barely two steps through the front door before he fell to his knees. I had to call his brothers to help him up the stairs and into bed. -EM

Stranger: He's been burning up ever since. -EM

You: And has the doctor got any idea what's going on with him? JTK

Stranger: [Delayed]
I have a hypothesis. -EM

You: Yeah? JTK

Stranger: You'll probably think I'm a batty old woman. -EM

Stranger: I believe Leonard was replaced by an alien when he was a baby. -EM

You: Alright. JTK

Stranger: Or merged with an alien. -EM

You: And what do you think that means for how the good doctor is doing now? JTK

Stranger: I think it's you, Captain. -EM
Ever since that night when he... When he changed things don't die around him. When he was a toddler he used to pick up birds that had flown into the windows and somehow they'd flap away. -EM
I think he did the same thing when he brought you back from the dead and it's taken a toll on him. -EM

You: You think I... JTK

You: What are you saying I can do to, I don't know, take it back? JTK

Stranger: When his father passed he had to give Lenny permission to let him go. We were all sure he was the only thing keeping David around. -EM
I think if you give him permission to stop... doing whatever he does he may recover. -EM

You: [slight delay] Whatever it takes. JTK

You: Don't tell Spock. JTK

You: Once we get in, don't tell Spock right away. JTK

Stranger: My lips are sealed. -EM

You: I don't want to worry him is the thing. JTK

You: Honestly, between him and Bones, it's a wonder anything gets done. The both of them are relentless worry warts. No offense, Ma'm, but they put most mothers to shame with it all. JTK

Stranger: Yeah, that's my Lenny. He gets it from his father. -EM

Stranger: You should have seen David when I was pregnant with Lenny. -EM

You: Yeah..? JTK

You: I'm sure it's quite the story. JTK

Stranger: (I'm ready whenever you're tired of stories of baby Bones)

Stranger: He used to walk ahead of me to make sure there was nothing I could trip on. -EM

You: ((10/10 baby bones is a fun time but i gotta brb real quick irl. would you mind starting us off wherever you'd like to take it up when i get back we could paras?))

Stranger: The address Mrs. McCoy had given Jim led him and Spock to the Greenwood Plantation Bed and Breakfast. The driveway wove between oaks older than the Federation and around a large pond that reflected a cloudless blue sky. The house itself was an imposing white structure, all massive columns and two story porches. Yet the thing that drew the eye was the distressed face of Mrs. McCoy as she waited for them on the front steps. It was clear Leonard's condition had only worsened since she had spoken to Jim.

You: ((back ty!!))

Stranger: (You're welcome. Brb)

You: ((take ur time fam!))

You: For all his accusations where Spock and Leonard were concerned, for the duration of the route here Jim had been a worrying frazzled wreck. Spock had been his own discombobulating sort of comfort, but whenever the guy brought up the sense in worrying when their presence wouldn't alter any courses, Jim had had to bite down on the impulse to tell him more. He gave some half hearted, vague references to studies on the benefits of company but he knew that wasn't enough to explain the edge Jim maintained. For much of the journey, his knuckles had been clenched white. "Where is he," Jim shouted, jumping out of the rented car at a sprint and before it had even come to a proper stop.

Stranger: (back)

Stranger: "Second story, third door on the left." Mrs. McCoy stepped out of Jim's way. She didn't want to delay him the slightest if he could help save her son. "Hurry, please!"

You: Jim left Spock to parking the car on his own. If Spock shouted for him, Jim didn't hear it. If anyone else called for him, he didn't hear it all all. He took the stairs two at a time. World narrowed to Leonard and fixing whatever he'd done to him, however unintentionally Jim had done it. "Bone," he shouted, as he rounded the corner, skidding just slightly. "Bone," he breathed as he raced into the room, face paling soon as he caught sight of his friend. "Hey, hey it's okay," he panted, dropping down to snatch his hand up in his own. "It's okay, man. You've got my permission. Stop doing this to yourself, you've got my permission."

Stranger: (bb)

Stranger: Bones' eyes slowly, almost painfully, opened. He looked at Jim curiously.
"Jim? Wha-What are you doing here?" He said between wracking coughs. "What are you talking about?"

You: ((just saw ur reply i hope you weren't waiting long!))

Stranger: (No worries!)

You: "Your mom," Jim breathed. "Bones, she told me. You can let me go," he croaked, voice abruptly dry. He could hear movement downstairs. "I'm okay, Bones," he squeezed his hands tightly, "let me go. It's ok."

You: ((ahh we're having dinner out here so i g2g but thank you for the rp! i'll tag "bones spirk" if you're game to reconnect some time?))
