- Involves the use of insects (*and anthropoids*) that inhabit human remains.
- The *medico-legal* aspect of forensic entomology  deals with manner in which these creatures infest human corpses.
- The *urban* aspects deals with the existence of these creatures and where and how they live and the impact they have on humans and human activity. This could for example, related to civil claims for property damage.
- The *food contamination* aspect involves a focus on determining whether creatures have contaminated foodstuff.
