I will be meeting my fiance's parents soon in Japan, and we thought it would be a nice gift to take them some wine from the U.S. I live in the San Francisco bay area so I'm pretty close to Napa and Sonoma etc. Her parents are grape farmers so they know their way around grape and wine a little bit, but my fiance never paid attention and doesn't know anything about it. She did tell me they prefer wines more on the sweet side.

I'm interested in buying something that's a little aged, maybe from 2014 or so and under $75. I went to Safeway but realized I didn't know wtf I was doing. Not really too interested in actually going to a winery in Napa or anything but I could go to a wine specialty store in the area.

Any recommendations? I'm sorry if this is too vague.
