  2. [18:11] Falconis [Ivanov]"You mean you haven't heard? Diplomat Yuu, he was found dead in his room around noon.
  3. [18:11] Falconis [Yu]"Diplomat Yuu is dead. Ivanov has won"
  4. [18:11] Falconis Dinah slams her hand on his desk as she stands up to get his attention and glares at him. "This is a war. Whether your a soldier or a diplomat, Lives hang in the line. Suck it up and do your best, don't give up until your Dead.
  5. [18:11] Falconis Our team was sent to glorious China to gain the support of the Empress under the direction of Diplomat Yuu.
  6. [18:11] Falconis The Diplomat is dead, and Ivanov is a suspect, but the fight isn't over.
  7. [18:11] Falconis [Yu]"Tonight there will be a royal banquet, we can use it to get closer to the Empress, You 4 are to convince the generals to give us support. I am putting my faith in you, you are the only weapon I have at my disposal"
  8. [18:11] Falconis Tonight at the banquet hall they have a chance to turn things around in their favor. Will they grasp sweet victory or will the dinner date leave a sour taste. Find out this time on

  10. [18:12] Falconis [Yu]"I have used what little time we had to drive the core points into you, hopefully that will do. But there is one more thing."
  11. [18:12] Falconis "Your clothing, it must change"
  12. [18:12] Dinah "Huh?"
  13. [18:12] Falconis "Find something, anything, to wear to a fancy dinner party, the royal servants can prepare anything you need, just make it quick"
  14. [18:12] Dinah looks confused, is she dirty?
  15. [18:12] Abram "Right. Camouflage doesn't really suit a diplomat."
  16. [18:13] Dinah "..... but its comfortable"
  17. [18:13] Jay Jay looks down at his camou pants and shrugs. "Okay."
  18. [18:13] Jay "...but the hat stays."
  19. [18:14] Abram "...Wait a second. Yu, what happened to Yuu's body?"
  20. [18:16] Falconis [Yu]"...I do not know, but they wouldn't have allowed him to stay where he was, the scene has no doubt been cleaned up by now. I will have to question the Vice Chancellor later"
  21. [18:17] Dinah still seems confused on why she has to change, let alone what to wear.
  22. [18:17] Abram "Do so. Get me the body, then I can perform an autopsy." Abram pulls out another cigarette and lights up. "Because we both know it wasn't food poisoning."
  23. [18:17] Jay "We should probably try to get our own investigation into that as soon as possible. Somebody needs to go grab that, and see it where it needs to go."
  24. [18:18] Falconis Yu looks her head on and sighs "Just trust me miss, your area is war, mine is diplomacy. What you are wearing now is unacceptable."
  25. [18:18] Falconis "If you require my assistance in choosing what to wear"
  26. [18:19] Falconis Yu's eyes sparkle with a light you cannot determine the source of
  27. [18:19] Dinah "... yea, i have no idea whats needed let alone what would be acceptable in this region..."
  28. [18:19] Dinah has a feeling its a bad idea
  29. [18:20] Falconis His face splits in a wide grin "Excellent, I will be with you momentarily." "As for the body, yes, I will look into that as soon as possible. I did not know you were trained in that art Mr. Cameron"
  30. [18:21] Dinah rubs her brow, feeling that this is going to end poorly
  31. [18:22] Abram "It's what I went to Harvard for after all. If you can get it before the banquet tonight, we could use it as leverage. Assuming there's anything left to find."
  32. [18:23] Jay "How much do we trust our hosts in this? Enough to keep anybody else from messing with the corpse? It might be best if we split up, for the moment."
  33. [18:26] Falconis Yu glances at the meowth clock on the wall
  34. [18:27] Abram hurries off to change his attire.
  35. [18:27] Falconis [Yu]"We have...little time. I trust that the Empress would not allow anything to befall the body, but we don't know who the culprit is, and who our enemies really are, so your investigation may be wise"
  36. [18:28] Falconis (he speaks to the empty air)
  37. [18:28] Dinah motions Yu on to help her find clothes as Abram hurries off "Then we should get ready"
  38. [18:29] Falconis Yu nods and leads Dinah out of the room, talking about fabrics and colours in a bright voice
  39. [18:29] Jay "Well, how about you take Doc and Dinah and just point me where to go? If you think it's wise, I'll just join you later."
  40. [18:30] Jay Jay trails off to empty air.
  41. [18:30] Dinah seems absolutely lost on Yu's chatter
  42. [18:30] Falconis Yu would, but he needs to be there to tell them who you are
  43. [18:30] Falconis or else you'll just get stabbed for being a stranger in the palace
  44. [18:32] Jay Jay wanders off to go get suited up himself.
  45. [18:36] Dinah returns with a sigh after awhile, having shoo'd Yu out after all his fashion talk. She wore something 'simple',a high collared black Cheongsam with golden inlay that flowed to her ankles. The gold ties down the leftern side and her slippers where a basic black with golden ivy etchings on the side.
  46. [18:37] Dinah The golden ivy design was also present across the throat and down to the ties. Despite the high slits she wore it comfortably, though showed off a fair bit of leg as she walked. Likely the only 'fashion foul' was her Falcatta blade and belt hanging on her hips.
  47. [18:37] Dinah "Ready."
  48. [18:38] Falconis Yu looks at her, and then unbuckles the belt, commandering the offending item "Now you are yes"
  49. [18:38] Dinah sighs, undoing her ponytail as her hair flows in waves down to her upper back.
  50. [18:38] Falconis "There are no weapons allowed in the banquet hall, not in our hands at least. Everyone be aware of that"
  51. [18:38] Abram "I could almost mistake you for a diplomat and not a soldier." Abram stands in a standard-fare black sports jacket and white dress shirt underneath.
  52. [18:39] Dinah "Return that afterwards. I had already left my cursed blade with the rest of my gear."
  53. [18:39] Jay Jay walks back into the room dressed in a cream suit, buttoning the cuffs on his peach dress shirt, hat still on his head.
  54. [18:39] Falconis Yu sets it gently on his desk, "It will be right here on your return"
  55. [18:40] Dinah sighs, rubbing absently at the scar on her face. Thankful she hadn't been forced into makeup.
  56. [18:40] Falconis Yu looks at the hat as if pained
  57. [18:40] Jay He tosses both knife holsters on the table beside Dinah's sword, and pauses.
  58. [18:40] Jay "So, uh...are we eating with chopsticks or...?"
  59. [18:41] Falconis [Yu]"Special fare and utensils have been prepared for guests, so you may eat, and eat with whatever you desire"
  60. [18:41] Falconis "Just don't annoy the chef, he's the second most dangerous person in this palace"
  61. [18:41] Abram "Good to know."
  62. [18:42] Jay Jay looks relieved and half-smiles, "Yeah, that's...convenient."
  63. [18:46] Dinah definitely looks uncomfortable with nails and makeup done. "I hope this night ends early..."
  64. [18:47] Falconis Neuros has also cleaned up nicely, he looks exactly the same, just somehow neater
  65. [18:47] Falconis mindgames suspected
  66. [18:48] Falconis [Yu]"The banquet will begin in an hour, we are already 2 hours late to the hall, if you have anything else to do before we head out. Speak now"
  67. [18:48] Abram wonders for a moment how anyone wearing a gas mask could look nice.
  68. [18:48] Dinah looks her hand over and sweatdrops, glancing to Jay and Abram. "Why do i feel the need to hurt someone?"
  69. [18:49] Falconis Yu is all business all the time
  70. [18:49] Abram "Save it for later Dinah, tonight might not go as planned."
  71. [18:49] Abram "Anyway, I'm ready."
  72. [18:49] Jay Jay pats his egg where it sits in the bag and whispers to it, before turning to Yu. "I think I'm ready."
  73. [18:50] Dinah "I suppose I am ready as well"
  74. [18:51] Dinah makes sure to put everything in her bag before they go and stuff it carefully where it wouldn't be seen easily. Dinah's a little paranoid about leaving her gear and companions behind.
  75. [18:57] Abram lets Harrier ride around on his shoulder.
  76. [18:58] Falconis The Brave Bird smooths it's feathers slightly and takes a comfortable position
  77. [18:59] Jay Jay reaches down into his bag and flicks a ball up, letting Tails flip out in a flash of light.
  78. [18:59] Jay "Your day in the sun, kiddo."
  79. [18:59] Dinah is followed after by Asher, a small black bow with Golden Inlay tied on one of her skull Ridges.
  80. [19:00] Falconis Tails looks around in surprise, it's been so long, such a strange place
  81. [19:00] Falconis Asher preens
  82. [19:03] Dinah "Asher, be on your best behavior tonight. Keep your club to yourself, and mind your manners. It's a mission, tonight we are diplomats"
  83. [19:11] Falconis As one you proceed to the banquet hall. You head down the wide, polished stone hallways with chosen pokemon in tow. Yu leads the procession with brisk steps, doling out last minute advice and warnings and social taboos, mostly things which you have heard already, but he wants to make sure.
  84. [19:11] Falconis It's not long before the sounds of chattering voices, controlled laughter and music sound in your ears. Moments later, you enter the banquet hall.
  85. [19:11] Falconis The luxury and opulence you have come to expect has not been spared here. Large green and gold banners with the symbol of the Qui dynasty hang from polished marble pillars with gold overlayed Dragonair carvings running up and down them.
  86. [19:11] Falconis Dozens of people sit around dark oaken tables on a carpet that looks like it could pay your entire lineages way through school.
  87. [19:11] Falconis Servants, both human and pokemon alike glide in and out of a side room, bearing plates piled high with food.
  88. [2013-10-13 19:13:45] <Falconis> Yu whispers to you as you enter the room pointing out people if importance
  89. [2013-10-13 19:13:48] <Falconis> of*
  90. [2013-10-13 19:15:23] <Falconis> [Yu]"Your targets tonight, as I mentioned earlier are the 4 Great generals of heaven seated about the hall, take care in your approach, first impressions mean much"
  91. [2013-10-13 19:16:28] * Dinah takes in each general curiously as she listens to yu when he points them out
  92. [2013-10-13 19:20:02] <Falconis> [Yu]"General Peng, the soaring general of the southern skies" He indicates a group of people with his chin, unsurprisingly sitting at the bottom of the hall. A Group of women in cream silks chatter happily, a flock of flying type pokemon accompany them
  93. [2013-10-13 19:20:59] * Dinah sweatdrops
  94. [2013-10-13 19:21:07] * Abram glances over at the women, then at his own flying-type companion.
  95. [2013-10-13 19:23:20] <Falconis> "General Bohai, the Commander of the Eastern Seas," A single man sits by the eastern door, he wears a robe of deep blues, swirling deep midnight shades and accenting hints of white give a feeling of rippling waves as he calmly takes a sip from a cup
  96. [2013-10-13 19:23:21] <Dinah> "Let's go asher, I have the feeling the boys won't have a chance to speak with her normally"
  97. [2013-10-13 19:23:52] <Falconis> Asher follows alongside closely
  98. [2013-10-13 19:24:44] * Dinah walks politely towards Generald Peng, the small ground type at her side with her skull-ribbon decorating her proudly. A startling contrast in her own black garb to the cream colored women chattering about her.
  99. [2013-10-13 19:26:04] <Falconis> "General Huo, the Blazing commander of the Great abyss" A group of red and gold armour wearing men with stern looking faces sit closer to the empress' table. Towering above them all, even while seated is a man with deeply bronzed skin and the most magnificent mustache you have ever laid eyes on, an equally large Emboar at his side.
  100. [2013-10-13 19:29:20] * Abram frowns slightly upon seeing Huo, clearly out of his league.
  101. [2013-10-13 19:29:49] <Falconis> "And finally, General Lei, the commander of the west who strikes like lightning." Approximately a dozen men sit by the western wall. A motley horde in white, blacks and yellows drink and laugh loudly, each one with no less than 2 women under his arm. Whoever the general is, he doesn't seem to stand out from that group
  102. [2013-10-13 19:30:47] <Falconis> [Yu]"Do your best, I don't see Ivanov but-"
  103. [2013-10-13 19:30:50] <Falconis> As if on cue
  104. [2013-10-13 19:32:20] <Falconis> A pair of doors swing open and the Empress of Qui strides into the room. She wears flowing Jade silks with golden outlines and a stern looking fraxure marches at her right
  105. [2013-10-13 19:32:26] <Falconis> At her left, is Ivanov
  106. [2013-10-13 19:34:31] <Falconis> As she enters the chatter dies down and everyone, regardless of their state of inebriation bows to the floor
  107. [2013-10-13 19:34:47] <Falconis> Yu falls to his knees and prostrates himself as well
  108. [2013-10-13 19:34:48] * Dinah follows suit upon noticing, bowing low
  109. [2013-10-13 19:35:10] * Abram quickly catches on and bows to the Empress.
  110. [2013-10-13 19:35:16] <Jay> Jay glances around, and bows as well.
  111. [2013-10-13 19:36:37] <Falconis> She walks up to a long, low wooden table set at the front of the room and sits on a cushion there after dismissing Ivanov. The russian in question makes a half bow and backs away from the table
  112. [2013-10-13 19:38:06] <Falconis> The Empress opens her mouth...and speaks. [Qui]"Hourable men and women of the empire, and guests, I greet you in the name of Qui"
  113. [2013-10-13 19:38:23] <Falconis> "Please, enjoy my banquet"
  114. [2013-10-13 19:38:43] <Falconis> She sounds, young but confident. Serious.
  115. [2013-10-13 19:38:50] <Falconis> AND THEN EVERYONE GETS BACK TO WHAT THEY WERE DOING
  116. [2013-10-13 19:40:26] * Dinah resumes approaching General Peng and her flock
  117. [2013-10-13 19:40:42] <Falconis> join #pengpong
  118. [2013-10-13 19:40:43] * Abram leans slightly towards Jay, talking in a whisper. "I hope you're a ladykiller, because Lei seems like your best bet. I'll talk with Bohai, and we'll figure out Huo later."

  120. [2013-10-13 19:42:25] <Jay> Jay nods in understanding, if not agreement. "Well, we'll see. Good luck, Doc," Jay whispers back.

  122. [2013-10-13 19:43:20] * Abram adjusts his jacket slightly as he approaches General Bohai.

  136. [2013-10-13 22:35:04] <Falconis> They seem to be going-

  139. [2013-10-13 22:35:40] <Dinah> "Wait, isn't anyone talking to fire guy?"

  142. [2013-10-13 22:37:10] <Falconis> "I have been attempting to get closer to Empress Qui, I am getting closer"

  144. [2013-10-13 22:39:26] <Falconis> "Hmm, no, the banquet is coming to a close, he will want to leave immediately to return north. It would be a wasted meeting I believe"
  145. [2013-10-13 22:43:25] <Falconis> Yu notices Abram as he approaches
  146. [2013-10-13 22:43:30] <Falconis> "Well?"
  147. [2013-10-13 22:43:50] * Abram takes a moment to catch his breath, finally free of the uneasy aura.
  148. [2013-10-13 22:44:33] <Abram> "It was... uneasy at first, but for the most part, we have his support."
  149. [2013-10-13 22:44:51] <Falconis> Yu seems SUPER PLEASED
  150. [2013-10-13 22:45:07] <Falconis> "Excellent, one down. This will make things easier"
  151. [2013-10-13 22:45:20] <Falconis> "Now where has the Hatted one gone, has anyone seen him?"

  153. [2013-10-13 22:45:42] <Abram> "Last I checked, he went to talk with General Lei."

  156. [2013-10-13 22:46:58] <Falconis> Yu nods at Neuros as he approaches
  157. [2013-10-13 22:47:22] <Falconis> "This is troubling, we will have to search for him after the banquet"

  159. [2013-10-13 22:47:38] <Abram> "What about Huo? I don't think anyone talked with him yet.

  161. [2013-10-13 22:48:32] <Falconis> "Huo will have to wait, I can get a meeting with him at another time, though it will be conspicuous"
  162. [2013-10-13 22:48:52] <Falconis> "Ivanov no doubt already knows about my plans, but it doesn't matter right now"
  163. [2013-10-13 22:48:57] <Falconis> "Success is what matters"
  164. [2013-10-13 22:49:19] <Abram> "As long as we stay on our guard, we should be fine."
  165. [2013-10-13 22:49:28] <Falconis> Yu nods, he looks confident
  166. [2013-10-13 22:50:30] <Neuros> "Vell, believe ve spoke all but 1"
  167. [2013-10-13 22:51:10] <Falconis> "Indeed, this is good, if we manage to get the support of all of them, this may turn into a reality"
  168. [2013-10-13 22:51:12] <Falconis> The sounds of dozens of people hitting the floor alerts you to the empress rising from her seat
  169. [2013-10-13 22:52:21] * Dinah bows deeply as well
  170. [2013-10-13 22:52:37] <Falconis> Qui rises and adresses the hall "I apologize, as I must retire for the night, but please, continue to enjoy the banquet in my place"
  171. [2013-10-13 22:52:48] <Falconis> Then she leaves, Fraxure in tow
  172. [2013-10-13 22:52:56] <Falconis> and everyone gets back to banqueting
  173. [2013-10-13 22:53:14] <Falconis> Huo rises and leaves the room, followed by his party
  174. [2013-10-13 22:53:29] <Falconis> Bohai also leaves
  175. [2013-10-13 22:53:34] <Falconis> Peng jumps out a window
  176. [2013-10-13 22:53:43] <Falconis> >_
  177. [2013-10-13 22:54:10] * Dinah sweatdrops as she see's Peng excuse herself out the window, she'll have to find her another way
  178. [2013-10-13 22:54:27] <Abram> "Looks like we're done here for the most part. Now we just need to find Jay."
  179. [2013-10-13 22:54:50] * Neuros nods. "Vell, Could speak to ze Huo"
  180. [2013-10-13 22:55:15] <Dinah> "I think i'd like to leave for now if need be, knowing my luck.... Well i'd rather not stand around looking bored like this"
  181. [2013-10-13 22:56:07] <Falconis> Yu nods slowly
  182. [2013-10-13 22:56:30] <Falconis> "Very well, your work here is done for tonight, do as you want for now. Perhaps eat some food"
  183. [2013-10-13 22:56:34] <Neuros> "Vell, should speak Huop now vit party? Or late vithout?"
  184. [2013-10-13 22:57:02] <Falconis> Yu takes a moment to process that
  185. [2013-10-13 22:57:03] <Dinah> "Am I allowed to leave? I am supposed to meet someone"
  186. [2013-10-13 22:57:08] <Abram> "Huo's leaving. Interrupting him wouldn't make for a good first impression."
  187. [2013-10-13 22:57:27] <Falconis> "Yes, as Mr. Cameron said."
  188. [2013-10-13 22:57:30] <Neuros> "Correct. Tomorrow, vill attempt"
  189. [2013-10-13 22:57:42] <Falconis> "yes miss, you may go, just watch your step and don't get lost"
  190. [2013-10-13 22:58:46] <Abram> "Call me paranoid..." Abram lowers his voice as he looks around. "...but I don't think we should be wandering off alone right now."
  191. [2013-10-13 22:59:06] <Dinah> "You've felt watched to? I want my sword.."
  192. [2013-10-13 22:59:42] <Falconis> "The Banquet is over, you may reclaim your items as long as you don't return to the hall"
  193. [2013-10-13 23:00:00] * Neuros nods. "Let's not. Stick together"
  194. [2013-10-13 23:01:57] <Dinah> "Still, as i said, i have someone to meet."
  195. [2013-10-13 23:03:11] <Abram> "Just make sure you're prepared if anything happens."
  196. [2013-10-13 23:03:47] <Dinah> "I can leave most of my gear behind, I have Asher. Sigh, i want to get my sword but likely it would not be best"
  197. [2013-10-13 23:04:21] * Abram gives a nod.
