Now I am just wondering why is it like that, I mean you can buy Gold Edition from steam, I don't get it why I cannot insert my cd-key in and it would download the GOLD EDITION instead of Beta, which I had paid for.

Anyway, thank you for your assistance and fast answers. I am very satisfied to customer support :) I'll try to figure out the disc transportation probably I guess since there ain't a way to provide him Gold Edition to the steam unless I am willing to pay another 20? for it.

Redeeming your retail key on Steam is not something that happened before.  It is only redeemable to give existing owners of Company of Heroes a chance to look at the next update and give feedback on the balance changes.  It is not supposed to be a replacement for the full retail version of the game, it is simply a test platform.  Once the beta test is over, this game will most likely disappear from the Steam account.

The only way to get the full retail version of the game on Steam would be to buy it on Steam.

He will be able to validate his Gold Edition key with the Anthology disc.  It is designed to do this.

First of all, thank you for your fast response.

Now I would like to know why it's supposted to give Beta version of the game if I've paid FULL PRICE for the game? And how comes it's not compable with the retail game? Is there any way to get the original game from steam and not the beta? Because I am pretty disapointted if we cannot now play together and I've wasted my CD-key for nothing.. I also wan't to be sure that he can validate the gold edition with an Anthology disc, without installing ToV, is that right? Just in case IF I send the disk for him..

Hello,

When you enter the CD key in Steam, this is only supposed to give you access to the Beta of the game.

In this case all you would be able to do would be to send him the disc as well so that he can validate it.  There is no way to successfully install the game with just the CD-key.

 Cannot validate product.

I got Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts and Company of Heroes: Anthology. The thing is, I used from Anthology only the Tales of Valor key and saved the Gold edition key. Now I've given it to friend, he put it on steam and got only BETA of game and is NOT able to play online with me. How to fix this? I can play totally fine with his relic account and cd-key (which is actually my 2nd cd-key as told) but he cannot because of steam beta version.

We also tried to download him a clone-dvd and he installed game on it, put cd-key, install, patch etc. Now he cannot validate the media with cd-key, neither on steam and he doesn't have the DVD for validating, because I have it in my house and I canno't give it to him because he lives in Macedonia and I am Finnish.

So, he has OFFICIAL CD-key for the game and basicly he would have official DVD-copy but it's unreachable. I've paid for the game and hoping I could enjoy it with my friends since all we've done has been only legal. Is there anything we can do to validate the key or make it work trought steam? And he has Relic Account where the Gold Key is used
