Wrote the short story, ‘The Swimmer,’  Cheever divided his time between Manhattan, Saratoga, Lake George (where he was caretaker of the Yaddo-owned Triuna Island.) Most of Cheever’s old infantry company was killed on a Normandy beach during the D-Dayinvasion. He protested against an early draft of "The Day the Pig Fell into the Well"—a long story. He moved to the East Bank of the Hudson River. When he went to Boston University he moved into a fourth-floor walkup apartment on 71 Bay State Road. 1981, a tumor was discovered in Cheever's right lung, he was buried in Norwell. (‘Not’ a‘Well,’ NOT‘Or’WELL, but, ‘Ocean’ and ‘a hurtful battle.’) He worked on a 13 story book called ‘Fall River and Other Uncollected Stories.’ He wrote biography, A Tragic Honesty(I say: About the Ficticious?,) and was a finalist for the Pulitzer and James Tait Black Memorial Prize.  Cheever was featured in ‘Soul of a People.’ His life is highlight in the book : “Uncovers Depression America.” Cheever's name is also mentioned in the lyrics of 2017 song Carin at the Liquor Store by the American band The National, (= Sadness outbreak to Cali loss turns to liquor.) (119T.)June 18th 1983: SALLY RIDE BECAME THE FIRST AMERICAN WOMAN IN SPACE after cosmonauts Valentina Tereshkova (1963) and Svetlana Savitskaya(1982.) She was Born in Los Angeles. Ride worked for two years at Stanford University's Center for International Security and Arms Control, she had one sibling: ‘Karen "Bear" Ride.’ (CA & Gun Control.) Ride graduated from the private Westlake School for Girls. She was a capsule communicator (CapCom,) and helped develop the space shuttle's "CaNADArm" robot arm. Ride had completed eight months of training for her third flight (STS-61-M.)

After Sally Ride's death in 2012 at 61, General Donald Kutyna revealed that she had discreetly provided him with key information about O-rings. The O-Ring dynamic examples include: rotating pump shafts and hydraulic cylinder pistons.
Namely, ride provided that O-rings become stiff at low temperatures that eventually led to identification to the cause of the explosion of Challenger. In 1999, she acted in the season 5 finale of Touched by an Angel, titled "Godspeed." She is the first known LGBT astronaut. Ride died in her home in La Jolla, California. (119W.)June 18th Died 1989: Isidor Feinstein Stone (JOURNALIST) aged 81. Judy Stone, his sister, wrote a film review of The General Died at Dawn . She worked as a reporter for the Marin Independent Journal. Her books include The Mystery of B, Traven, which is known for The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, 1927(2/9/2017,)  Most agree that Traven was Ret Marut, a German stage actor and anarchist, (His picture look: anti semitic.)  Stone died in ‘Potrero’ ‘Hill,’ Traven’s (‘O’r’o’ ‘H’i’l’l’.) Traven wrote adventure subjects that combine with a critical attitude towards capitalism. Traven's best known works include the novels The Death Ship, meaning a coffin ship, from 1926. Traven's first novel, Die Baumwollpflüc*er (A Bum Wall - minus horizontal of “>|” for “*”.) The title of Traven’s  first book edition was Der Wobbly,  a common name for members of the anarcho-syndicalist trade union Industrial Workers of the World. (119Y.)June 18th Died 2002:  Aged 77(770ft Spillway,) John Francis "Jack" Buck (BROADCASTER) After graduating from high school, he worked on large shipping boats that traveled the Great Lakes working on an iron ore freight boat. Buck served on a 700 foot (8,400 in) steamer named "The Sheadle".  Buck also became recognized for writing poetry, culminating in national attention for his poem "For America", written after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, (Oro = 9/11#2.) Buck decided to finish high school, graduating from Lakewood High School. Buck received further medical treatment at the 177th in the military and was  awarded the Purple Heart. Buck majored in radio speech. Buck was married in 1948 and had six children. Buck's three daughters worked in broadcasting on KYKY 98.1, (=Flip 9.) Buck can be heard calling a (fictional) 1964 Cardinals broadcast in the 1988 in the film Mississippi Burning where three missing men have been murdered and their bodies are later found buried in an earthen dam. Buck was in the famous 'Ice Bowl' championship game.
On August 16 Buck called the first-ever NFL game played outside of the United States,(=8/16.) Buck was also the original voice of the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League. Buck covered the 1968 Stanley Cup Final. One of his television calls was handled by Vin Scully who would later retire at age 88 in 2016. Buck got death threats from Pittsburgh Pirate fans. Buck's final public appearances was at Busch Memorial Stadium It was the first night that Major League Baseball resumed after the terrorist attacks of September 11, Buck at the time was sick with lung cancer, his spot was filled by a former Colorado Rockies announcer. Buck received the Ford C. Frick Award, which was associated with the events titled: "High Tide Era," "Living Room Era," "Broadcasting Dawn Era." (119Z.)June 18th 2004: EDWARD FINCKE FIRST U.S. ASTRONAUT IN SPACE DURING BIRTH OF HIS CHILD. Born March 14, 1967, (I wrote this on March, 14, 2018,) He formally held the American record for the most time in space (381.6 days.) Fincke graduated in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, west northwest of Pittsburgh along the Ohio River. The population was 3,827 at the 2010 census, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth, atmospheric and planetary sciences, and a second Master of Science degree in Planetary Geology from the University of Houston–Clear Lake.
He was stationed in Los Angeles Air Force Base.  He reported to the Johnson Space Center in August 1996.  Fincke was the space station science officer and flight engineer which started on April 18. Fincke completed his first mission in 187 days. Fincke was commander of Expedition 18. Fincke starred in the first science-fiction movie made in space, ‘Apogee of Fear’ on April 8, 2009.  Fincke was a guest star on the final episode of Star Trek: Enterprise. Fincke voiced himself in Arthur episode "Buster Spaces Out.”

Her sister died October 28, 1969 who starred in City of Pain.  Doris Dowling returned to the U.S.A. from out of country to be in the film ‘Running Target.’ She co-starred in the sitcom My Living Doll. She was in the films:  Wink of an Eye, The Party Crashers, Birds Do It,  and Separate Ways. (119ZD.)June 18th Died 2008: TASHA TUDOR (CHILDREN'S AUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR) Born: August 28, 1915 (=9/11 #2,) Tasha Tudor illustrated nearly one hundred books. And her first story was: Pumpkin Moonshine, and the last being Corgiville Christmas, (=OrVille.) With Nell Dorr, Tudor produced the 24-minute 16mm film The Golden Key.  One of Tudor’s most famous books is Corgiville Fair, (=OrVille CGI,) published in 1971,(=9/11.) The first of a series to feature anthropomorphic corgis, (=nations, emotions and natural forces like seasons and the weather,) appraised her books as extremely popular. During her exhibition at Colonial Williamsburg, many of Tudor’s personal artifacts and doll house objects were shown there as well as the manuscripts and watercolors for Corgiville Fair and A Time to Keep. Her selection of books would likely include: Amanda and the Bear,(=CA,) The Great Corgiville Kidnapping, Wings from the Wind, and The Wind in the Willows. (119ZE.)June 18th Died 2011: CLARENCE CLEMONS (MUSICIAN) His playing on songs such "Born to Run," "Freeway of Love," as well as performing in concert with the Grateful Dead, Clemons published Big Man: Real Life & Tall Tales. Born in Norfolk County, (=oro.) Clemons was the son of a fish market owner. Clemon's worked with The Coasters, would become a major influence on Clemons to be led. Clemon's was associated with, "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out." A quote from an interview: "A rainy, windy night it was, and when I opened the door the whole thing flew off its hinges and blew away down the street..." "..."Spirit in the Night..." Clemons himself had also played with Talent in Little Melvin & The Invaders. Clemons jammed with The Joyful Noyze on at least two occasions at The Shipbottom Lounge when the songs "Blinded by the Light" and "Spirit in the Night," were played.  October 21, 1972, (=9/11 #2,) The Joyful Noyze played at the Club Plaza in Bayville. Clemons performed, "Thunder Road","Night,"  "Jungleland," 'darkness on the Edge of Town' featured notable solos on "Badlands" and "The Promised Land". The River saw Clemons feature on songs such as "The Ties That Bind," "I Wanna Marry You," "Drive All Night,""Independence Day," "Born in the U.S.A.," and "I'm Goin' Down." Clemons' final recordings of a sort was the album, "Wrecking Ball."  Clemons was managed briefly by a former Crawdaddy editor & the Red Bank Rockers. Clemons owned a nightclub called Big Man's West. (=CA.) Clemons was guest in a series episode titled "So You Want to Be a Rock Star," (=Shooting Star + Rock Formation.) In 1990, he co-starred in an series pilot, he was in the episode of Human Target.  He made a cameo appearance in Blues Brothers as the band 'The Louisiana Gator Boy.' He appeared in an episode of Brothers and in the "Eddie's Book" episode of “'Til Death” as himself. On October 22, 2009, Little Kids Rock, a non-profit, presented Clemons with an award at the Right to Rock charity benefit.  At their concert in Portsmouth, June 19, 2011, Phish covered "Thunder Road" as a tribute to Clemons. Before singing "Moment of Surrender," Bono read lyrics from Springsteen's "Jungleland," while the house lights went down.
