- 1.5 All Worlds Route Idea
- =========================
- In KH1-J you can get off an extra Proud Roar of Simba if you have enough MP and it will allow you
- to defeat 6 waves in Final Rest instead of the standard 5. (for reference I think it's 9 or 10MP because
- you know 1J).
- So I got to thinking of how much MP you would need in 1.5 to do the same thing.
- It's not possible in a non-All Worlds category because you would never have the equipment available to you
- in order to get enough MP for this. So, it's All Worlds only right now.
- In All Worlds, you get to Final Rest with 9MP in Staff Route.
- I started there and got to thinking.
- A big thank you to Faiz for testing all of my MP/Cheer combinations because I didn't have a 1.5
- All Worlds save available. This is what she said based on what combinations of MP/Cheer I had her test:
- 9MP and 2 Cheers: 5 waves (this is standard)
- 9MP and 3 Cheers: 5 waves
- 10MP and 2 Cheers: 5 waves
- 10MP and 3 Cheers: 5 waves
- 11MP and 2 Cheers: 5 waves
- 11MP and 3 Cheers: 6 waves
- 12MP and 2 Cheers: 6 waves
- So, in order to use Simba on 6 Final Rest waves, you need 11MP and all Cheers or 12MP and 2 Cheers.
- In other words, you need Simba to have 14 total MP for 6 Proud Roars.
- (Sora Magic Strength + # of Cheers on party) = Summon MP
- So, the ultimate question is: "Does this save time?"
- The answer is "yes, sometimes".
- Time to explain.
- First, lets make one thing clear: Getting 3 Cheers is not viable.
- In order to get Sora Cheer you would have to do Pooh's Swing minigame a second time.
- Then you'd have to go talk to Owl. All of this would cost too much time to matter.
- So it looks like we're left with 12MP and 2 Cheers.
- How do you get 12MP?
- Spellbinder and Royal Crown.
- Now for the timings.
- - Getting Spellbinder takes no time at all, just talk to Merlin after 100 Acre Wood.
- This costs barely a few seconds to mash through the text.
- - Getting Royal Crown is a bit out of the way taking about 35-40 seconds.
- So we can say the net loss of getting these two items is 40 seconds give or take a few.
- - A 1 DM Invisible fight in Final Rest takes about 35 seconds.
- (this varies based on how well you kill the rest of the Invisibles of course)
- Now a 1 DM fight is skill decent, it's okay, but not great. However, it's not consistent at
- all to get a 0 DM fight and sometimes you can lose a good chunk of time chasing down a DM-ing
- Invisible every so often.
- The extra Simba Proud Roar strat would be consistent 100% of the time.
- So as a runner, you have a choice:
- - Do the route the same as you always have
- - Lose maybe 10 to 20 seconds for a 100% consistent Final Rest
- If you choose consistency and get Spellbinder and Royal Crown, equip them after Behemoth 3.
- Your equipment would be
- - Spellbinder
- - Royal Crown
- - Ray of Light
- The use the Cottage like normal.
- The strat is a little risky because you have to be standing by the door in order to avoid the Invisibles
- (They get close but never hit me in the 10 times I did it).
- Also the timing for getting off Simba is tight, you have to do it the second you kill the last Darkball.
- So, getting over to the door then killing the final Darkball can be a little annoying.
- In other words, if you're going to do this route, practice Final Rest first so you can get a feel
- for the timing and the risk. It's not a perfect route/strat, but it's neat.
