- I've seen a bit of buzz for AMERICAN GURL on the subreddit and music spheres since the album dropped and I know quite a few users on this subreddit do enjoy this album's electropop sound a fair bit. But outside of that I've went into the album completely blind. And it was definitely an enjoyable experience with a good number of songs having some great hooks. No Apology! goes hard with it's dark synth undercurrent, and I fucking adore what Miguel brings to Death Fantasy, even if he's relegated to the backing vocals ~~like a woman feature for Taylor~~.
- But for every bop, there's about the same amount of misses on the album. I think BLOODY FUTURE doesn't really go anywhere with it's and kinda wish it elevated past what sounds like a very stock hook. DISTRACTED III has some weird vocal effects that I'm not the biggest fan of and I'm not completely sold on the title track, also I have questions about ATTENTION POLITICIAN, mostly why does it sound so cheap and wrong? Fortunately the album really ends well with 3 great songs right after. Pretty good album with room to grow on me.
