PROLOGUE CHAPTER BY MEGABOY.

The year is 21XX...

Technology has came to a declining halt within the last couple of decades, no new advancements have been made for almost eighty years. After the decommissioning of all Robot Masters in 20XX, humanity wasn't making any improvements at all. That is until a man named Dr.Cain found a robot sealed away in a capsule for one hundred years... This robot's name is X, and this is his story.

DATE: MARCH 16TH, 21XX
LOCATION: ABEL CITY'S MAVERICK HUNTER HQ.

Dr.Cain and X are currently viewing over a work in progress reploid, tailor made with the newest processors available.

X: So, this reploid is supposed to be the most advanced one?

DR.CAIN: Precisely, there isn't anyone as advanced as him. I'm making him specifically for the Maverick Hunters, his leadership and highly advanced processers should take care of any operation without any hesitation.

X: I've been thinking Dr.Cain... Maybe I should be a Maverick Hunter too, since I'm the base for every reploid you made.

DR.CAIN: Hmm... If you would like I could put you with Sigma's unit once I complete him. He will most likely be able to train you well with that X-Buster you're equipped with.

X: I'd appreciate it. I bet we'll work great together.

DR.CAIN: Well... Let's wait and see what happens in the close future.

DATE: JUNE 2ND, 21XX
LOCATION: MAVERICK HUNTER TRAINING SIMULATOR

X is watching a reploid with red armor practice using their buster, he saw the same reploid get carried into the HQ only a few days ago. He was heavily injured, however now he's up to shape. The reploid soon takes a notice to X.

???: Hey, you can come in if you want.

X takes a moment to realize that this red reploid was talking to him.

X: Oh! Sure, I guess I could use some time to warm up.

He hesitantly walks inside, but reassures. himself that since this is only training. He won't have to deal with the overwhelming thought of casualties from other Maverick Outbreaks. He activates his X-Buster.

ZERO: Name's Zero, I think I've heard about you. You're X right?

X: Yeah, I'm X.

ZERO: Nice to meet you, I'm being assigned to the 17th unit with Commander Sigma. Same as your's right?

X: Oh, That's good to know! It's always great to have a new member in the unit.

ZERO: Well, how about we stop the small talk for a moment and start this.

X: Oh, right!

X starts the training procedure with Zero. He first starts by looking around the available space of the simulator, it appears it shifted into a large arena like area. Like it was preparing a battle with the two reploids fighting something greater than them.

ZERO: Look out!

The simulator spawns Base-Type Mavericks to act as targets, Zero uses his Spiral Crush Buster to dispose of three in a row. X on the other hand takes out another set by using his X-Buster. X carefully places his aim on the weak points of the mavericks, he doesn't really like to use all of his power to fight during missions, so disarming them in the fastest way possible is his usual method. After the first wave of Simulated Maverick Hunting is completed, X and Zero exit the simulation to take a small break.

ZERO: Say, what class are you exactly?

X: I'm a B-Class Hunter.

ZERO: B-Class? You have quite some skills for a B-Class Hunter, especially you taking out those weak points!

X: You noticed?

ZERO: It was quick to notice, you didn't try to retire any of the simulations. You mostly disarmed them, I'm guessing that's your preferred method to take them out on real missions?

X: I do it because I don't really want to harm anybody, so I just try to find the most peaceful solution.

Zero: Sometimes that might be the best way to disarm a situation, but other times you'll have to pull the trigger even if there's another possible way around it... But hey, you seem like a guy I'd rely on in the 17th unit.

X: I'll be safe to know you're behind my back Zero.

ZERO: The feeling's mutual.

The door to the simulator opens, and Sigma walks in through the doorway

SIGMA: Zero. I need you to come with me for a moment.

ZERO: Right.

Zero walks over to Sigma, they walk together back through the doorway. But before Zero leaves, he looks behind X and smiles at him. X smiles back, Zero seems like a nice person to be around. Especially with all the Maverick Operations happening. with X and Zero around, the Maverick Hunters lowered down the rate of Maverick attacks by 15% A huge accomplishment for the two, nothing could go wrong!

DATE: JULY 4TH, 21XX. THE DAY OF SIGMA
LOCATION: MAVERICK HUNTER HQ

Zero slams his hands onto the data table as rapid Maverick Reports keep appearing on the screen.

ZERO: Damn it! How many more are defecting to Sigma's side?!

NAVIGATOR: Storm Eagle and Chill Penguin stopped responding hours ago. It's likely they are with Sigma and his Maverick Uprising.

ZERO: That's EIGHT, eight of our most useful hunters gone! Not to mention all the other ones that left with Sigma is threatening us with nuclear missiles!

X takes a moment to look at Zero, he looks stressed out with the responsibility of countless Hunters out on the streets taking on mobs of Mavericks that just keep growing. He then turns to the Navigator.

X: Is Dr.Cain alright?!

NAVIGATOR: He's being held in a protected area guarded by some of the best we got left.

Zero: That's good, but there are literally Mavericks destroying the highways. Central Highway and Awakening Road have been filled by hundreds of them.

Suddenly, a loud turbine is heard from the Maverick Hunter HQ's Tower. The Death Rogumer air ship flies over Maverick Hunter HQ, on top of it. X makes out ten figures riding it near Awakening Road.

X: Zero look! I think Sigma's on that airship! I think they're heading down to Awakening Road.

ZERO: Alright, I'm going there now. Maybe I can clear out the Mavericks with what I have left...

X: Wait Zero!

X places his hand over Zero's shoulder before he rushes out of the building.

X: I'm coming with you, I can help you take down Sigma.

Zero looks back at X and smiles.

ZERO: Well X, as your leader. I need you to get onto your Ride Chaser and help me follow that Air Ship!

X smiles back

X: I'm on it.

The two head to the garage and get on their Ride Chasers and head out to track down the Death Rogumer.
