- The chance of getting copy protection at any one of the bandit camp, witch's house, and mountain is 1/4. These probabilities are independent of each other. If you haven't gotten any copy protection at the boat, you'll get it there. You will not get any copy protection at the boat if you've already gotten it previously.
- The messages are all very hamfisted:
- "There is a bandit inside the smaller tent! Graham must use Crispin's wand to cast a sleep spell on him."
- "The door to the witch's house has an enchantment on it and can't be opened. Use Crispin's wand to break the spell."
- "Graham's aim is not very good. Use Crispin's wand to help him throw the rope accurately."

- The witch has a 1/2 chance of poofing in on every forest screen (except the very first one, when you can still back out, obviously). She will always appear in front of her house if you make it that far. After she poofs in once, she'll appear on every subsequent screen.

- Blue beast RNG:
- I'm still digging through the code to understand how this works better, and I don't fully understand it yet. In the meantime, to test some of my assumptions, I did some real world tests. (As an aside, the game's scripts call this character "theHenchman").
- All of these tests were done *before* Cassima rescues you. I'm not sure yet if the RNG changes afterwards.
- First, the Organ Room. It looks like the blue beast has a 50% chance of appearing here. Real world tests seem to bear this out. Walking to the center of the organ room and waiting yielded these results:
- Blue Beast: 18
- No Blue Beast: 47
- No, that's not quite 50/50, but this is also a small sample size.
- ##
- I then did the same test, walking from Cassima's room to the north dining hall and waiting.
- Blue Beast: 5
- No Blue Beast: 22
- ##
- Finally, I repeated this test (doing 50 total trials this time) walking from Cassima's room to the south dining hall and waiting (without any stopping in between).
- Blue Beast appears in south dining hall: 36
- Cat: 7
- Nothing: 2
- Blue Beast Appeared in Organ Room: 5
- On the last item, I want to stress that I DID NOT slow down to encounter the henchman in the organ room.
- About halfway through, I started running LiveSplit to see how long it takes for our blue dude to show up. Later, I timed each appearance from the frame you regain control of the cursor to the first visible frame of the blue beast (most often his hand). These times include the organ room appearances.
- Low: 1.39
- High: 9.04
- Average: 5.36
- If you remove the organ room appearances and only include the south dining room, you get this:
- Low: 2.35
- High: 9.04
- Average: 5.98
- ##
- I found the code that determines the beast's wait time. If you're in the the organ room and he's going to show up, he waits a random number of seconds between 2 and 4 (inclusive). Any other screen is between 4 and 10. I'm assuming this is from the time the room loads, as my tests above were timed from when you regain control of the walk cursor and were often shorter than 4 seconds.
