- All Bosses FAQ:
- Q: What is the goal of this category?
- A: To beat all of the bosses (listed in the Boss Replay menu) in the game from a new file.
- Q: Isn't Boss Rush the exact same category?
- A: No, Boss Rush is just beating all of the bosses back to back by going through the Boss Replay menu, where as All Bosses beats them within the main game.
- Q: What makes this category special/unique/cool?
- A: Well I haven't figured out all the kinks yet, but you only need to collect 45 Jiggies, as we will not be opening Cauldron Keep at all. Hag 1 will be reached by DCW, and Klungo 3 will be reached by doing the 55 door skip/Cauldron Keep Early ( https://www.twitch.tv/videos/125481941 ). You'll also likely see unique tricks, strats, and routes that as of writing aren't used in many other categories, such as breaking into GI through the side door instead of front door, as well as a unique method for setting up the Delayed Cutscene Warp! Also, we will be skipping a LOT of jinjos because there are some families we can't possibly complete due to only needing 45 Jiggies to open up CloudCookooLand.
- Q: Skipping Jinjos? Damn, so does that mean will look different depending on what pattern will be used? And which pattern will be the ideal pattern?
- A: Yes, better patterns will allow us not only to skip slower jinjos but will make skipping slower jiggies much more viable. And as for the ideal pattern... still not sure on that yet, though s̶o̶ ̶f̶a̶r̶ ̶m̶y̶ ̶t̶e̶s̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶h̶a̶s̶ ̶p̶u̶t̶ ̶R̶e̶d̶-̶C̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶f̶a̶s̶t̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶k̶n̶o̶w̶n̶ ̶p̶a̶t̶t̶e̶r̶n̶ ̶ HA HA JUST KIDDING I FORGOT TO CUT OUT A JIGGY SO EVERY ROUTE I MADE WAS A JIGGY SHORT!!! FUN TIMES AHEAD!!!!!!!! (naming is coming from the jinjo list from this document: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/194mbfRICPB6GzxN1TovvQMR92vCiqHGgNiooNlT_szs/htmlview# ) . It'll probably be a while before I get a definite answer for this because making these routes is VERY time consuming. Regardless of which pattern turns out to be the fastest I will also write up a proper route for both that pattern as well as White-C, because it's the ideal pattern for most other categories and what most other runners have, so they won't have to go out of their way just to get a different pattern to save like 30+ seconds. I guess I could write it up for other patterns if people want me to in the future as well?
- Q: Does GGM Early save time in this category?
- A: Yes! A lot of time actually, from my timings it saves 1:09.39 for the Pattern White C route. GGM Early is done AFTER Mayahem Temple, as doing the trick beforehand is 1:13.13 slower. And it IS a pretty big time save to skip Golden Goliath, but at least for Pattern White C it's just barely fast enough to not warrant skipping. (For context skipping Golden Goliath saves 1:25.82, while skipping Roof Jiggy saves 1:28.36 and skipping the Rocknut Jiggy saves 1:26.11. Also the next slowest Jiggy still done in the route, Stomping Plains, takes 1:25.05 to do)
- Here's a list of changes that have been made because of GGM Early:
- Because of GGM Early, you go straight to GGM after MT, GGM + WW aren't opened until after GGM1.
- GGM1:
- These have all been moved from GGM 2 to GGM 1:
- High Waterfall Jiggy (detonation levitation)
- Toxic Gas Cave Jinjo (detonator)
- 20 Glitter Pile Notes (detonator)
- Generator Cavern Jiggy (w/o clockwork)
- Power Hut Jiggy (as BK instead of Kazooie solo)
- The Mumbo warp isn't hit at all nor are the notes surrounding the warp pad grabbed during GGM1.
- Post GGM1:
- immediately talk to the alter to teleport to Jiggywiggy
- GGM, WW, and JRL are all opened at the same time.
- After reset, enter Spiral Mountain now instead of Post WW
- WW:
- I've had a couple different WW routes done so it's a bit hard to define what's different compared to whatever people consider last time, but Patch is done last instead of learning Pack Whack. In addition, we use the Gondola method for the WW DCW Setup instead of resetting after hitting the switch.
- Deathwarp out of WW instead of Saving and Quitting, then warp straight to Plateau.
- GGM2:
- As mentioned above, a bunch of stuff is done in the previous trip. After entering through Prospector's hut + getting the 5 notes on the lefthand side, we go straight to Mumbo's in order to activate the Train. Then we fight Old King Kohl after.
- Changes end here.
- Q: How long do you think this category will take?
- A: Not sure, I estimate it will take less then 2 hours, you can see the routing progress here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xX_XiCqtDrzYQAaALIUr_dh8n6vG_c94r-3ZHemonjE/edit?usp=sharing
