  1. ONTARIO SCHOOLS CRICKET ASSOCIATION LOGO DESIGN CONTEST

  3. About OSCA
  4. OSCA promotes healthy active lifestyles and physical and mental well-being among young people of all genders through the sport of cricket by working with school boards and education sector partners.   6. PURPOSE OF THE CONTEST.
  7. The purpose of the contest is to design a logo for the Ontario School Cricket Association. The logo may be used in all media – including online, print, on merchandise and other visual collateral.
  8. Use your design skills to create a logo and you could win:
  9. -A Letter of Recognition by the Ontario Ministry of Education
  10. -Certificate of Recognition by the Premier of Ontario
  11. -A framed sample of your winning design
  12. -Gift Vouchers totalling $5,000 offered by Canadian Tire Corporation (to be distributed among the winners)

  14. Contest Deadline – The Deadline for submitting entries is before 4:30 PM on October 25, 2021 through the Google Forms link

  16. HOW TO ENTER!
  17. To enter the OSCA Logo Design Contest, eligible participants must:
  18. -Complete the official entry form at the link on the next page by 4:30PM on Monday October 25, 2021
  19. -Submit a logo design in .jpeg, or PDF formats (if you are chosen as a winner, you MUST be able to provide a high-resolution vector file (e.g., in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign)
  20. -Placement of the logo should allow for appropriate white space around it

  22. OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES:
  23. -To be eligible, you MUST be a registered student at an Ontario High School (individuals or teams of no more than two students per team)
  24. -All entries must be identified with the designer’s name, mailing address, email address and telephone number.
  25. -Individuals or teams may submit no more than two entries (a separate Entry Form must accompany each submission).
  26. -All submitted work must be the original work of the entrant(s) and must not include, be based on, or derived from any pre-existing or third-party designs, trademarks, or copyrighted images.
  27. -All entries will become the property of OSCA. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees that any and all intellectual property rights in the logo design are deemed assigned to OSCA.
  28. -Except where prohibited by law, an entry submission into this contest constitutes permission to use the winners’ name(s), likeness, prize information, and information provided on the entry form for publicity purposes, without further permission or compensation.
  29. -OSCA reserves the right to modify the winning logo to better fit the needs of the Initiative.
  30. -The decisions of the Selection Committee will be final. They reserve the right to select more than one winner or not to select a winner, if in their sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.
  31. -The selected winner MUST submit a scalable vector version of the winning design so that it is adaptable to electronic and print media, to reproduction on small and large surfaces, and to use in color or in grayscale.
  32. -The Entrant with the winning design shall grant OSCA the following exclusive, irrevocable, royalty free, universally, perpetual rights, without compensation, without requiring any consent for Use, and any and all entitlements and privileges and rights from the winning design. OSCA shall have the exclusive Right to use such winning design in any medium and for any purpose,
  33. including, without limiting to, editing, altering, reproduce, printing, duplication, distribution, publication, marketing, advertising, trade, inclusion on website, and inclusion on social media (“Use”), of the winning design. For greater clarity, all copyright ownership Rights shall remain the exclusive property of OSCA and may not be used by anyone else for any purposes (i.e. personal, commercial) without express written consent of OSCA. The designer, and its successors and assigns, hereby waive all rights and claims to (i) profits that may arise from use of the Media; and (ii) to inspect or approve any of the Media or its Use.
  34. -The winner will be required to sign an agreement assigning all ownership to OSCA. An announcement of the winning entries is set for the week of March 28th 2022. It will be announced at a press conference held by OSCA the same week in Toronto. Selected Entrants will be notified within 15 business days of the contest draw and will be contacted by email provided at the time of entry into the Contest. Up to three attempts will be made to contact Selected Entrants within 30 business days following the draw. A Selected Entrant that does not or cannot accept a prize may be forfeited and a new Selected Entrant selected by random draw, in the Sponsor’s sole discretion
  35. -By participating in the Contest, entrants’ consent to the use of their name, address, email address, postal code, telephone number, social media handle(s), comments and image, whether on videotape, photograph or any other means, for the administration of the Contest or any publicity carried out by the Sponsor,
  36. without further notice or compensation.
  37. -No purchase necessary.
  38. -Reference to third parties in connection with Prizes is for reference and identification purposes only and not intended to suggest endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation with Sponsor or Contest.

  40. SELECTION CRITERIA:
  41. A third-party Selection Committee appointed by OSCA will evaluate all entries based on the following criteria (though other criteria may be considered):
  42. Relevance – Does the entry align with the theme, mission and vison of OSCA? vance
  43. Originality – Does the composition exhibit original design, creativity, and imagination?
  44. Aesthetic Quality – Does the submission command attention? Does it display visual quality balance and color coordination? Do all the elements work together?
