- >"From the South, Lady Marla!" An announcer shouts over the throngs.
- >From the gate, walks Marla in full plate, armed with a mace and a kite shield in her house colors, red and blue
- >"And from the North, Lady Laika!" The crowd roars at the introduction for the favorite.
- >Laika is wearing half plate and wielding a heavy broadsword, she lofts it above her head with one arm for a short moment before bringing it down to her stance
- >"Are the combatants ready?" The announcer shouts with a flourish.
- >They both shout in affirmation.

- >Marla raises her shield, knowing that she can't outmuscle the taller maiden

- >Laika roars in pain as the sword flies in the ground, her other hand clutching its mangled brother
- >"D-do you yield?" Marla says with a grin behind her helm.
- >Laika lunges the mace with both of her hands and strips it away, tossing it to the ground.
- >Marla brings the shield to her face, but Laika pins the arm down and begins to pummel the smaller girl's helm with her broken hand
- >The rush of it numbing her pain, as the crushed bones splinter
- >The shield comes loose in Marla's hand after a few blows and then it begins again with a fresh hand
- >"I-I yield! I yield!" Marla shouts, but Laika does not stop until pulled away.
