Fallout: Beyond Equestria 121: The Last Free Town (Part 1)

[2015-02-04 13:22:33] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Having found the Amulet of Atonement and the Griffin's Goblet, the ponies and griffin of the Crimson Caravan reactivated the Radiant Shield of Rasdon, banishing the Quetzalcóatl Empress back to Tartarus.
[2015-02-04 13:23:13] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The Griffin's Goblet was bartered to the pirate zebras of the "salvage ship" /Cutlass/, and the Amulet of Atonement was given over to the powerful Spirit of Whispers known as the Faceless.  In return, the Faceless revealed that the missing Element of Laughter was being held under guard in the catacombs beneath Roam.
[2015-02-04 13:25:42] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Now, aboard the /Cutlass/, the Crimson's Caravan ponies and griffin sail towards The Silos, the first real town within the zebra lands -- one that has been described as "the last free town" by the pirates.

[2015-02-04 13:29:18] * Bookwright snorts. "What did they call it? The 'last free town'? That's either deeply symbolic or incredibly banal."
[2015-02-04 13:29:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream is cuddling with Mwana Wameli on the cot in his tiny room, and learning things about the zebras' image of Equestria.
[2015-02-04 13:31:59] * Shatara takes some time to fiddle with and inspect the crashed fliers
[2015-02-04 13:33:59] * Fridge cuddles into it. She's used to being in a tiny place like this, her own home growing up was all of one room, two if you count the outhouse, and it wasn't even a particularly big room. The fact that he had a room at all was a huge deal for her.
[2015-02-04 13:34:08] * Goldy does that.
[2015-02-04 13:35:15] <Mare-Do-Well> 3It is easily within Shatara's skills to repair the crashed fliers.  Proper parts are the only thing holding him back.  Particularly wherever there was damage to a propeller.
[2015-02-04 13:36:15] * Get_Lost helps shatara repairing stuff if he allows her to, otherwise, repairs more pirates
[2015-02-04 13:36:58] * Goldy nickers a little. "A-anyway, I think after hearin' that ya'll folk think we farm and eat zebras, I need t' hear stuff about you. Like, how do you see stuff like I do? Is th' Cap'n yer mom? How do you speak Equestrian?"
[2015-02-04 13:40:28] * CopyCat has been flying around and beside the /Cultass/, enjoying the freedom of flight while she didn't have to draw the Firewagon. There had been a /lot/ of flying to get here and she felt much more confident in the air. "WHHhhheeeeeEEEEeeeeEEE!" she cheers, the sound morphed by the Doppler effect.
[2015-02-04 13:41:13] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The pirates watch CopyCat as they work, many with growing smiles of amusement.
[2015-02-04 13:41:26] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Goldy hears a single cannon fire.
[2015-02-04 13:45:56] * Goldy 's ears shoot up. "... And as th' cherry on top, what was that?"
[2015-02-04 13:46:59] <Mare-Do-Well> 3As the /Cutlass/ soars over the southern peaks that border the Tenochtitlan Basin, a mountain of white rock comes into view -- one of the southernmost on the dragons' craggy mountain range.  The southeastern face has been carved into a monumental statue of a stalwart zebra soldier, her eyes turned to the heavens.
[2015-02-04 13:47:43] * Shatara gets distracted by CopyCat Wheeeeeeing.
[2015-02-04 13:48:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3On deck of the /Cutlass/, the pirates turn towards the mountain, falling silent a moment.  A single cannon is fired off.
[2015-02-04 13:49:11] * Bookwright is impressed. "I'm impressed."
[2015-02-04 13:49:30] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana's ears perk.  He continues to cuddle as he answers, "Balefire Mountain."
[2015-02-04 13:50:57] * CopyCat is similarly impressed with the giant zebra statue. "OOOOoooooooOOOOooooo~"
[2015-02-04 13:52:12] * Goldy 's eyes widen a little, worry creeping into her expression. "You got a mountain that shoots Balefire, and yer' worryin' about /our/ fucked up shit?"
[2015-02-04 13:55:02] * Noble_Heart looks off in the direction of the carved cliff-face. She frowned slightly at the look of it. Someone had spent a vast amount of time and effort to shape the rock into that form.
[2015-02-04 13:56:22] * Get_Lost "well, if that statue could have been animated, then the war wouldn't have destroyed the world... just equestria"
[2015-02-04 13:59:14] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana blinks.  "Huh?"
[2015-02-04 14:00:19] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana shakes his head.  "No, Balefire Mountain.  Where dead soldiers were taken to be sent on their final journey through dragon fire."
[2015-02-04 14:00:24] * Bookwright "That statue seems, um. 'Large' is too small a word. 'Brobdingnagian'. Yes. That."
[2015-02-04 14:02:09] * Goldy blinks. "Huh. You know, I hear that when a dragon breathes fire, th' stuff it breathes on don't jus' ash. They go someplace. I wonder where th' bodies go."
[2015-02-04 14:02:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana says, "The dragon's fire sends their souls to a place of rest with their ancestors."
[2015-02-04 14:02:58] * Get_Lost "i'd call it sexy. it is big, anf huge, and more... for some reason i'm attracted to huge useless things... especially if that huge and useless..."
[2015-02-04 14:04:54] * Noble_Heart tilts her head to one side, then the other. "We wonder whether ancient zebras trekked into the wilderness to give their souls back to the dragons. Or if perhaps it was just customary that their warriors would fight dragons as a result of their homes being so close to them."
[2015-02-04 14:05:04] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana asks (a little cautiously, as pretty much everything he's thought he knew about Equestria has been refuted), "Is it true that ponies in Equestria still bury their dead?  I've heard wild tales of vast hillsides covered in burial stones."  But then, he'd heard of zebra farms too.
[2015-02-04 14:08:49] * Goldy thinks on that. "Well, yeah. Some folk do it th' zebra way, burn th' body. But you know, th' stuff that makes a pony comes from th' earth. Makes sense that t' put you to rest fer' good, you get back to it."
[2015-02-04 14:16:36] * Mwana 3considers that.  "I suppose it makes sense... especially for earth ponies."  He shakes his head.  "But we would consider it... courting horror.  Wouldn't fields of dead be too much a temptation for necromancers?  We haven't buried our dead since the First Age of Roam."
[2015-02-04 14:16:39] * Mwana 3pauses.  "Or would that be the Second Age of Roam?" he asks himself.  "The First Age made all those catacombs."
[2015-02-04 14:25:39] * Goldy furrows her brow. "Well, Necromancy really ain't a thing folks do too often back home as far as I can tell. Keep in mind, our flavor of tyrant tend t' be unicorns and shit what can get along fine just by usin' th' kinda spells what nopony supposed t' know. If that's necromancy, then it's th' kind what comes from th' stars or something, don't really need th' bones and corpsy stuff."
[2015-02-04 14:25:59] <Mwana> 3The moment of respect from the pirates doesn't last long, and soon they are back at work, and ignoring the mountain monument.
[2015-02-04 14:28:46] * Bookwright gazes curiously at the giant statue. "Must be some kind of memorial monument."
[2015-02-04 14:29:03] * Bookwright does a quick sketch and description of it.
[2015-02-04 14:31:45] * CopyCat lands back on deck with a fluttering of wings. Her flushed cheeks and wide smile show how much she enjoyed herself even as she pants for breath. "Flying is fun!" she announces.
[2015-02-04 14:34:33] * Shatara nod in agreement with CopyCat.
[2015-02-04 14:36:37] * Goldy notes as an aside. "I'm friends with some death spirits, though. Real keen on gettin' necromancers. Real blunt. But nice enough folk. I jus' think that they're so used t' folk tryin' t' avoid them or abuse their magic that they forget what bein' friendly's about."
[2015-02-04 14:37:51] * CopyCat trots over to Shatara and gives him an overly excited (and very distracting) hug. "I'd never really thought about enjoying flying before, it was a thing that just sort of happened!" She squeezes the griffin extra tightly. "Were you able to fly much in the Stable, Shatara? Like, did they have special big rooms for it?"
[2015-02-04 14:39:09] <Mwana> 3The zebra in the crow's nest shouts an alarm.  Pirates rush towards the foredeck, several pulling out binoculars or spyglasses.  Shouts pass up and down the deck, and both the Captain and First Mate move into positions of command.  The Crimson's Caravan ponies can see a dark spot above the horizon.  Another airship.
[2015-02-04 14:41:09] * Shatara acks a bit, wriggling in the Alicorn's embrace. "Well, the gym was big enough to qualify as a slightly-under-regulation Lacrosse pitch...and some of the halls were big enough to spread your wings...but there's only so much you can do under...wait, what's going on?"
[2015-02-04 14:41:40] * Get_Lost "friends of yours?"
[2015-02-04 14:42:21] <Mwana> 3Parlay struggles to translate as much of what is being said as it can.  "...cutter class...  long way from home... imperials...  starboard fifteen degrees... searching for The Silos... load all cannons..."
[2015-02-04 14:43:55] * CopyCat eeps! and releases Shatara abruptly. She points to the airship-speck on the horizon. "P-p-p-pirates!"
[2015-02-04 14:44:09] * Goldy boops Mwana's nose. "Also, yer reluctance t' share me some answers is noted. You're lucky you got a cute face." And a cute somewhere else a few feet back. But she'd never admit that.
[2015-02-04 14:44:33] <Shatara> "No copycat. We are the pirates."
[2015-02-04 14:44:47] <Mwana> 3In his room, Mwana quickly pulls himself off of the cot.  He starts throwing on armor, adorning himself with a mouth-cannon and machete, cursing in zebra.
[2015-02-04 14:45:46] * CopyCat blinks at Shatara and makes a sheepish squeaky-sound. "Hehe... oops." She points again, this time with a flourish. "I mean, Anti-p-p-p-pirates!"
[2015-02-04 14:47:24] * Bookwright "I don't really wanna get involved in a shootout with a bunch of zebras, with another bunch of zebras! We don't have a stake in this fight."
[2015-02-04 14:48:28] * Get_Lost "oh, imperials... i would like to test a couple of weak spots i notticed about these airships.... guys, what about an assault with the wagon from high above? i'd like to see how they fixed the blind points problem... if they ever did"
[2015-02-04 14:50:04] * Get_Lost "i mean... how they were supposed to survive a scorpion mkII asssault? enclave armor cant set one of those things on fire without even getting into their fire arcs..."
[2015-02-04 14:51:32] * Noble_Heart frowns and looks to Bookwright. "It seems likely that these imperials will not care if we are not involved. Anything which is not under their rule should be."
[2015-02-04 14:52:00] * Bookwright frowns. "Darnit, I knew I should have gotten a formal writ of exploration!"
[2015-02-04 14:53:38] <Mwana> 3Jugeote gallops up to Shatara.  "Captain says you and your friends either get ready to make yourselves useful, or get below where you won't be in anyone's way."
[2015-02-04 14:53:55] * Goldy hears the shuffling upstairs. Her mood immediately soured. "... Oh, for fuck's sake! Can't I have one fuckin' day where somethin' ain't going wrong? Is th' world that keen on hearin' me yell at it that it'll come up with all sortsa fuckin' shit right when I get comfortable. Fuckin' hell." She starts slipping on her rabbit hide and slung her shotgun on her back with the rest of her things.
[2015-02-04 14:55:16] * Shatara nods, packing his cloak away and revealing the crazy patterns of his power armor.
[2015-02-04 14:55:24] * Get_Lost smile "i want to help! fighting alongside pirates, what a great day!" then smiles "we could teleport fragmentation chargescdirectly INTO the ballons! what do you think, bookie?"
[2015-02-04 14:56:02] * Bookwright shakes his head. "Teleportation only works on living creatures."
[2015-02-04 14:56:53] * Shatara joins with the others near the wagon, noting they already seem to be preparing for war.
[2015-02-04 14:57:21] * Get_Lost "sniping the maneuvers? fins and rotors? they look quite classy but not really solid"
[2015-02-04 14:58:32] * CopyCat turns at the sound of Jugeote's voice, then looks at Get_Lost. "Oh, I like the attacking from above idea."
[2015-02-04 14:59:49] * Bookwright gestures at the firewagon. "If we put this into the air, I could definitely wreak havoc on them with the Twilight Cannon Shatara installed."
[2015-02-04 14:59:57] <Mwana> 3The zebras are checking the loads on cannons and personal arms.  Several lift heavy shields and put them into position along the port railing.  The /Cutlass/ sails closer.  And the other ship seems to be turning.
[2015-02-04 15:00:01] <Shatara> "I presume 'being useful' would be preferable than going below and waiting to get shot to pieces?"
[2015-02-04 15:00:49] * Get_Lost realizes something "waaaaaait a moment! we arre not going to kill them, right?"
[2015-02-04 15:01:14] * Get_Lost "we disable the ship, they give up, right?"
[2015-02-04 15:02:00] * Bookwright "They clearly intend to board this ship. Deadly force is not unwarranted."
[2015-02-04 15:02:01] <Mwana> 3Mwana scowls.  "Sounds like another Imperial scout ship. I hope they turn and fight.  If they rabbit, hunting them is a bitch."
[2015-02-04 15:04:41] * Noble_Heart looks towards bookwright. "yours might. But Our teleportation is superior. We could do it." She frowns. "But We would prefer to capture the ship intact if possible. It would be a worthy prize to bring to these Silos." She spreads her wings and her horn glows, encasing herself in an impenetrable purple bubble.
[2015-02-04 15:10:28] <Mwana> 3A horn sounds, high pitched and squealing.
[2015-02-04 15:10:58] <Mwana> 3Mwana stomps in frustration, heading out his door.  "They're rabbiting."
[2015-02-04 15:12:38] <Mwana> 3The Imperial ship is now clearly turning away from the /Cutlass/.  The captain orders all engines at full.  "Pour on the speed!  Shaman, rouse the wind spirit!" Parlay translates.
[2015-02-04 15:13:27] * CopyCat ear flicks and suddenly looks around. "There's a shaman?"
[2015-02-04 15:21:27] * Goldy gets on the deck, scowl on her face, stance rigid and looking /supremely/ cross. "Alright. Noble, Shatara, where does a rocket warhead need t' go fer' a mare t' get a day off?"
[2015-02-04 15:24:54] * Bookwright taps Goldy on the shoulder and points at the fleeing scout ship.
[2015-02-04 15:26:07] * Goldy hefts the heavy warhead and gingerly, but authoritatively, lays it on the deck while looking up. "Will killin' th' balloon get it down, or is there an engine we need t' fuck up?"
[2015-02-04 15:26:18] * Noble_Heart looks up as Goldy appears. "It seems that some Imperials have strayed into Our course. And are currently attempting to escape. We are not usually the sort to throw the first spell. But at the moment, it seems that if they depart they may call others to assist."
[2015-02-04 15:28:42] <Mwana> 3The roar of the engines vibrates through the air. The /Cutlass/ picks up speed, closing slowly on the fleeing Imperial ship.
[2015-02-04 15:29:49] * CopyCat stops looking around for potential hot zebra shamans and looks over at Noble_Heart. "If we can catch up to that ship we may be able to damage its engines, letting the Cutlass catch up sooner."
[2015-02-04 15:40:51] * Bookwright "Do we really want to help commit a literal act of piracy?"
[2015-02-04 15:43:12] * Goldy doesn't even look at Bookie when she answers. "Yes."
[2015-02-04 15:44:44] * Bookwright shrugs. "Okay. Our best bet is probably to threaten them with the twilight cannon. Force them to stop with warning shots, or disabling-their-motors-shots." He looks over at Noble_Heart. "Or maybe Noble could weave some kind of illusion to fool them into stopping?"
[2015-02-04 15:46:24] * Goldy barks at Shatara. "You! Where's th' engine on that there airship?"
[2015-02-04 15:47:30] * Shatara produces an optic to examine the fleeing airship better.
[2015-02-04 15:49:40] * CopyCat 's mane flutters briskly in the wind as the airship's pick up speed. She bites her lip. "Actually, Bookwright, I'm not sure if we'll be able to catch up in the Firewagon. These ships are very fast in a straight line."
[2015-02-04 15:52:34] <Mwana> 3The /Cutlass/ is gaining, but slowly.  Mwana stands ready with the other pirates along the port side, anticipating.  The atmosphere is tense.  Unlike the movies, there is no quick cut to the battle.  The chase drags out.
[2015-02-04 15:53:04] * Goldy exhales, then bites her lip. This could be a trap.
[2015-02-04 15:53:16] * Noble_Heart contemplates that. "We could attempt to. But We are uncertain as to what to conjure that would be both threatening enough AND believable enough..."
[2015-02-04 15:53:54] * Goldy looks over the side. "How 'bout a dragon?"
[2015-02-04 15:54:38] <Mwana> 3Occasionally Parlay will translate something said by one of the pirates.  "Hate this part," one comments.  "Do you think they spotted anything?" another asks.  "Hope we kill someone with rounds that fit my rifle," another comments.
[2015-02-04 15:56:52] <Mwana> 3The First Mate walks behind them, giving a quick inspirational speech.  Parlay can translate only bits and pieces of it, but "hiding dreadnaught" is amongst those.
[2015-02-04 15:58:34] * Bookwright "What about one of those star creatures?"
[2015-02-04 16:00:57] * Goldy rubs her chin. "I got an idea. Copycat, you can fly good, right? Do you think you can keep up with a badly maneuvering airship?"
[2015-02-04 16:07:14] * CopyCat nods at Goldy. "I think Shatara and myself would be able to catch up to it, but it wouldn't be much sooner than the Cutlass travelling at this speed."
[2015-02-04 16:08:33] * Noble_Heart frowns and contemplates a few more moments. "Star creatures might work... Or perhaps." She spread her wings and took to the air. Swooping down to try and catch up with the ship ahead of them. She had an idea, though it might be a terrible one.
[2015-02-04 16:09:21] <Mwana> 3Noble_Heart is able to close the distance at a much faster rate.
[2015-02-04 16:11:18] * CopyCat 'woo's and watches as Noble_Heart swoops off. "Oooh, Noble's fast!"
[2015-02-04 16:14:29] <Mwana> 3The Imperial Cutter is a smaller ship than the /Cutlass/, with a single wide and flat armored balloon.  The ship is mostly enclosed, with small bow and aft balconies.  It is nowhere near as heavily armed as the /Cutlass/, but it is not without it's arsenal.  Two gunnery crows nests and several lower gunnery pods protrude from the ship.
[2015-02-04 16:15:14] <Mwana> 3All eyes are on the pursuing pirate ship.  Noble_Heart gets awfully close before one of the gunners spots the single incoming alicorn.
[2015-02-04 16:18:16] * Noble_Heart closes on the other ship. She began to focus her magic. She hadn't had many chances to practice her illusion magic since joining her new companions. So for the moment she had to summon all of her inner showmare... For all the worst reasons. Suddenly an explosion detonated atop the smaller ship's balloon, soon fire ran down its rigging and across the deck. Leaping from zebra
[2015-02-04 16:18:16] * Noble_Heart to zebra and resisting all attempts to put it out. A fire aboard a ship in the sky. With nowhere to run.
[2015-02-04 16:33:03] <Mwana> 3Panic breaks out on the ship.  One single gunner manages to open fire on Noble_Heart, aiming dual, linked zebra rifles towards her.
[2015-02-04 16:33:46] <Mwana> 3The ship begins to descend, slowing down as the crew fights to put out the illusionary fire.
[2015-02-04 16:36:23] * Goldy opens her mouth. And then closes it. "Well, there goes my plan. Much better plan, her plan."
[2015-02-04 16:37:19] * CopyCat cheers, clapping her hooves. "Wooo! Go Noble_Heart!"
[2015-02-04 16:37:41] * Noble_Heart tracks near-ish to the ship, trying to keep the hull between her and potential gunfire, especially those cannons, as much as possible as she maintains the spell. The fire would spread, and the zebras onboard would abandon ship or 'burn' until they weren't able to fight back. Either way was a win.
[2015-02-04 16:40:40] * Goldy looks around and tries to get the feel of the crew on deck.
[2015-02-04 16:42:38] <Mwana> 3Quite soon, zebras are abandoning the ship.  Most by glider.  But a couple of those on fire leap to their deaths from the balconies.
[2015-02-04 16:43:25] * Bookwright grimaces. "I didn't think Noble Heart would be the kind of pony to set fire. That doesn't seem like her."
[2015-02-04 16:43:25] <Mwana> 3Word quickly spreads through the pirates of the /Cutlass/ and cheering breaks out across the deck.
[2015-02-04 16:44:34] * Mwana 3turns from the port side and trots to Goldy.  "Looks like we won't be a brawls after all.  Love your purple gal."
[2015-02-04 16:45:08] * Noble_Heart winces as some of the zebras plummet to their deaths. She does her best to catch those she can before they fall to their doom. But at least most of the zebras had simply fled. That was a positive, as far as she was concerned. Rather than potentially having all of them slaughtered.
[2015-02-04 16:45:42] <Mwana> 3Crewless and uncontrolled, the Imperial Cutter slows, veering off course and descending.
[2015-02-04 16:47:03] * Noble_Heart swooped up towards the deck of the ship and let her illusion of fire fade. She wasn't sure she could do much to prevent the airship from crashing, but she'd certainly try!
[2015-02-04 16:47:22] <Mwana> 3As the /Cutlass/ closes the distance, the Captain orders the belly cannons to fire.  Explosions rip through the forest canopy below as the cannons make short work of the few fleeing zebra that they can reach.
[2015-02-04 16:48:53] * Mwana 3lets out a whoop!
[2015-02-04 16:55:28] * Noble_Heart was not feeling the best about this outcome. But at the moment was too busy trying to prevent the airship from crashing to ponder the moral quanderies about whether it was better to kill someone or to cause someone to kill themselves...
[2015-02-04 16:59:01] * Bookwright sends Noble_Heart moral support by hoping really hard she doesn't crash the other airship
[2015-02-04 17:00:36] * CopyCat winces at the grounded imperial zebras get cannoned. "Somehow it seems meaner this way. Like stepping on ants."
[2015-02-04 17:02:49] * Goldy bites her lip. "It's, err. It's fine 'cause they say that we're zebra eatin' monsters."
[2015-02-04 17:03:46] * Shatara finds himself a bit unsettled at the cruelty, and hopes they truly deserved it.
[2015-02-04 17:06:03] * CopyCat blinks and then looks at Goldy. "Oh? Have you eaten any zebra in particular?" She asks with a sly smile.
[2015-02-04 17:12:56] * Shatara gets inappropriate wonderings of what zebras taste like.
[2015-02-04 17:14:22] * Mwana 3looks to Goldy and her friends.  "They were trying to find The Silos.  We like to discourage that."
[2015-02-04 17:14:53] <Mwana> 3Noble_Heart quickly realizes she needs help.
[2015-02-04 17:15:49] * Noble_Heart does not, in fact, know how to sky boat. She clears her throat as her voice rings out across the gap between the two ships like a rather mega megaphone. "We have no idea how to pilot this ship! Someone who knows something about machines, please come and prevent Our prize from crashing!"
[2015-02-04 17:16:41] * Goldy blushes brightly. "No! No I haven't, y' durned git!" WHY IS COPYCAT TRYING TO EMBARRASS HER.
[2015-02-04 17:17:13] * Goldy coughs, then prods Shatara. "Hey, Shatara. Ever wanna be an airship pirate?"
[2015-02-04 17:17:13] * CopyCat has to pause in her Goldy-teasing to turn to Shatara. She opens her mouth to relay Noble_Heart's need to her other friends, when Noble does that herself. Damn that mare had a good set of lungs on her!
[2015-02-04 17:17:27] * Shatara dashes to Noble_Heart's aid
[2015-02-04 17:18:54] * CopyCat chuckles at the amplified yell. "What she said. Goldy, Bookwright, Get Lost, shall we airship?"
[2015-02-04 17:19:59] * Goldy smiles. "Yeah, yeah, I'd like that." She hops onto Copycat's back... And gives her a swat on the back of the ear. Stop embarrassing me, y' silly git.
[2015-02-04 17:20:50] * Bookwright nods and grins, shouting, "Group hug, everypony!" Before they disappear in a flash of light, and reappear on the deck of the slowly-crashing airship.

[2015-02-04 17:24:51] * Bookwright brandishes the Jukebox gun at... nothing. The deck is empty.
[2015-02-04 17:27:31] <Mwana> 3The deck of the airship is indeed totally empty.  And one sweep by Goldy confirms the entire ship is abandoned.  It's a relatively small ship, smaller than the /Cutlass/, but still one hell of a piece of salvage.  The ship is old and worn, but fully intact and has clearly had maintenance within the last two months.

[2015-02-04 17:29:13] * CopyCat watches Get_Lost inspect the zebra machinery. She was probably already talking about adding an anti-grav system or rocket jets or a missile battery or a Moonstone Cannon...

[2015-02-04 17:30:15] * Bookwright tries not to think about the long fall followed by the short stop that some of the zebras experienced. Thinks about it anyways. Hopes CopyCat didn't hear. Starts thinking "Rubber baby buggy bumpers" over and over in an attempt to cover it up. Fails after five repetitions.
[2015-02-04 17:30:48] * CopyCat giggles as Get suggests all four. Plus a mechanical arm holding a giant flamethrower...
[2015-02-04 17:35:20] * Noble_Heart turns away from bookwright to check out the rest of the ship. She was curious as to what they had caught.
[2015-02-04 17:37:34] <Mwana> 3Shatara eases the ship into a safe and stable flight vector.  The ship is not something that can be flown by a single member of the crew, but Get_Lost fills in, operating the engines while conjecturing on many ways to improve them.  Some of which involve dinosaurs.
[2015-02-04 17:39:40] * CopyCat gets a blank expression on her face and stares off vacantly. "...Rubber baby buggy bumpers..." she murmurs, the words going round and round inside her head.
[2015-02-04 17:49:15] * Goldy does her sweep of the below decks. Things... Looked clear. Following that, she headed back up. "Folks, y' might wanna pop back n' tell our buddies not t' shell this here aircraft."
[2015-02-04 17:50:30] * Bookwright leans against the deck railing and waves cheerfully at the pirate ship.
[2015-02-04 17:58:02] * Bookwright cranes his head over his shoulder and calls to Shatara, "Bring the thing to a halt, would you? I'd rather the pirates not shoot us down!"
[2015-02-04 17:59:22] * CopyCat smiles at her friends. "Oh, I'll nip back to the Cutlass to give them the good news. I'll be back in a jiffy!" She spreads her wings and is off!
[2015-02-04 18:00:26] * Shatara attempts some attempt at wingwaggling as he steadies the airship.
