  1. Awesome, the first question then:
  2.
  3. What IC and OOC aspects do you believe should be considered when deciding on the outcome of an Incident Report?
  4.
  5. JJ — 11:31
  6. The intention of IRs is to provide a IC route to resolve conflict between characters. From an IC perspective facts of the case from the interview transcripts and other material, the characters previous history, the severity of their infraction are main things to consider as well as the characters employability, From an OOC perspective the severity of punishment chosen should take the player into consideration, players spend a lot of time on their characters so something like demotions, suspensions and terminations should only be given if it's completely necessary.

  10. Okay! Onto question two:
  11.
  12. How do you feel about the Corporate Regulations we have currently? Do you think they're good, or do you think there's areas where they could be improved?
  13.
  14. JJ — 11:44
  15. I think the regulations serve their purpose. They cover nearly every scenario that could appear and there isn't many edge cases anymore like there used to be with diona nymphs. I think the notes of the regulation page can be a little confusing some times and could be restructured.
  16.

  18. — 11:45
  19. Sure. Question three:
  20.
  21. CCIA can sway the round heavily through announcements and faxes in response to ship faxes or antagonistic actions. Could you provide an example, either from your own personal experiences in a round or a hypothetical scenario, on when CCIA/Central Command should intervene with a heavy hand?
  22.
  23. JJ — 12:00
  24. As I mentioned in my application, it's important to respect players' agency over the round but depending on the circumstances you may need to intervene.
  25. From personal experience there were two main things that had direct intervention, when command had a major dispute over something regulations or SOP related and either a fax giving a specific answer or order was sent or very rarely an agent was sent to essentially hash it out between the command members. The other thing was antags sometimes would ask for assistance with faxes or announcements to further their gimmick, would also discuss responses to faxes with antags in AOOC.

  29. Question four, then:
  30.
  31. During one of your incident report investigations, you learn that the incident that occurred was the fault of both parties, one instigating another, and the other responding with escalation. While both conflicting parties have managed to resolve this amongst themselves, the reporter still believes they should be punished for causing the incident in the first place as it has distracted multiple departments from their work. What would you look into before handing down the resolution, do you think the parties involved should be punished?
  32.
  33. JJ — 12:20
  34. From an IC perspective, they haven't properly resolved their conflict between each other so it should be looked into further. Before making any decisions I would look at how severe they both acted and if it was proportional, what did the instigator do to provoke the other and what they did to react. From an OOC perspective I would look into if the reporter is being truthful and acting in good faith before finalizing anything.
  35.

  37. — 12:21
  38. Awesome. Question five:
  39.
  40. During one round, the antagonists decided to play a fake Hephaestus representative gimmick. They have escalated things, were spotted trying to break into the chief engineer's office with weapons visible, and Command has decided to send a fax to confirm their identity and authorisation as a result. The round time is now 01:45, and you warn the antagonists via AOOC that you will now reply. The antagonists ask you not to blow the cover of their gimmick. What do you do?
  41.
  42. JJ — 12:34
  43. It's best to avoid giving a direct answer to this type of fax, firstly because the ship's command should be self reliant and secondly because it risks shutting down the antags entirely or giving command no recourse to deal with the situation in their own way. If I did reply to it would likely be saying something along the lines of "Hephaestus assets appear to be operating in this sector but x amount of time is needed to check system logs".
  44.

  46. — 12:35
  47. Last question, then:
  48.
  49. Command has sent you a fax informing you that the Dominian consular has been arrested for instigating a duel on the holodeck and causing an injury, and are now requesting that you revoke their representative privileges as a result. The consular has actually done quite a lot more as an antagonist, including killing someone, but this was just before the fax was sent and left out of the paper. What do you reply with?
  50.
  51. JJ — 13:00
  52. I would only consider what was given to me ICly so from I would know the Consular had committed a medium infraction. The diplomatic immunity directive is a little unclear on the specifics. My reply would depend on if there was a captain or acting captain, I would advise them that they can revoke the office's immunity through a captain level decision. Otherwise If there wasn't I would revoke the immunity for the purpose of the arrest. I would also include that brig time is served for medium and high infractions.
